Looking back, was it slop or kino?
Looking back, was it slop or kino?
Well it certainly was a movie.
It fantastic. But the fact I always park my horse on top of whatever animal I skin so I get the fast skinning animation isn't a good thing and kind of represents my feelings on the entire game.
i thought it was one of the worst games
it is barely interactive
he doesn't appreciate the absurd attention to detail in animations
zoomie needs instant gratification
grand horse auto
kinoslop
It turned me into a horse girl. I don't want to take HRT but I hear being obsessed with horses is a female thing.
it's a decent movie that stretches on way too long and repeats plot beats too much for its own good
exploration is comfy, missions are far too one-note and linear. Shooting is middling at best.
he’s gay…
he’s gay for you, Dutch
anyone else think this scene came completely out of nowhere? rest of the game was cool though
play game
grind to get best satchel
glitch to Guarma for the lulz
finish chapter 2
chapter 3 goes woke with Sadie
stop playing forever
Great open world and details
Overrated as hell story
tech demo
Sadie is based and you are gay, saar
Nigger there's no way you're still amused by the 500th skinning animation. Same thing with nu-Doom's glory kills, and I'm shocked there's even 1 person who misses them. It's repetitive and rapes pacing. If you actually spend a significant amount of time playing the game in question, I don't know how it does anything but get on your nerves.
it's worse in first-person view
having the controls taken away from you in service of some stupid animation in first-person just feels so much worse than in third-person
it should never happen and both games are garbage for this
Kino open world.
Slop story.
It's already archived in history as one of the greatest games ever made. Miyazaki made Elden Ring open world with a horse mount because of this game.
but it looks le cool
but the detail
I don't think people who like these or make these really play the game that much. The cosmetic abstraction eventually fades from all games when you play them enough and all you're left with mechanically is time wasting crap. No one in history has ever played Quake and said it'd be nice if combat just paused every 5 seconds.
Kino, would be perfection if it had a better inventory system and they combined the online blank slate experience in the single player world
yeah
i think it is probably the worst thing going on lately
dont take the control away from the player and the game is better for it
this is cutscenes, quicktimes shits, animations, everything
it ruins the game
I don’t understand how money works, cus throughout the game Arthur will give money to couples that need a fresh start somewhere new and all he needs is to give them like $50 meanwhile Dutch is always like “We need more money!” even though the gang has like 20 thousand saved up and Arthur by himself is walking around with like 5k by chapter 3
fun for one playthrough, zero replay appeal
I have a good 1k hours in the game across platforms and it unironically did not bother me. Loved all the amazing animations. Sometimes I’d jump onto my horse from a weird angle on a slope and see the unique animation and just be like fuckin he’ll that’s beautiful. It shouldn’t be the design philosophy of most games, maybe not any game, except rockstar kino. Their games have felt like driving a boat for a while but I like it. My character feels like a real little dude inside a physical universe. Skinning animals is a weird thing to tackle. The rdr1 cutaway is probably better game design but yeah I don’t care I want them to go all out in whatever ways they want. I just accept I’m playing a slow burn with red dead
Slop. I never was able to finish it, it's such an uninteresting drag.
Noone is denying that part of it is a cinematic simulator experience. Quake is not that so you can't make that comparison
Quake was brought up as a comparison to GKs in nu-Doom. No one ever asked for that until id all but forced players to do it.
cinematic
The reason is irrelevant. The point is that control is being taken away.
m- maybe if i cal him a zoomie then they’ll a-agree with me!!!!!!
Kek, denied
Shorter attention span: you won't enjoy it
Longer attention span: you will enjoy it
I'm pissed that they added fast travel from makeshift camps
Dutch is retarded and retroactively doesn't deserve any of the respect he got in the first game.
What if people don't mind control being taken away? A game like RDR2 is closer to a movie than other games and people obviously like it
One of the greatest representations of this medium being genuine art. The game is like a moving painting. So realistic yet also stylized in just so many ways. Everytime I come back to it I'm still blown away with what they accomplished, there's such a tangiblity to the world. The lighting, the sense of scale, the plethora of different biomes, all of the unique NPCs, the sheer amount of animals and all of their own unique behaviors and animations. From a technical standpoint it's objectively a masterpiece and just one giant flex on this industry. I really doubt any other developer in this industry could replicate what they accomplished here.
That's called ludonarrative dissonance and I wouldn't spend too much time dwelling on it. Gameplay and story can't always be 1:1 with one another, especially in an open world game.
Jewish. The scum think they can get away with that if they pile on unconnected pretty things. It just makes all of it invalid.
Im on Chapter 2 with $7k from all the gold bars you can find. If you preorder the digital version there is a $3k treasure hunt that came with it. So i would be at $10k if i preordered. The only problem is there isn't much to buy in the game.
From a technical standpoint it's objectively a masterpiece and just one giant flex on this industry.
I honestly expect nothing less from them at this point.
Good game
Popular
Of course it's slop. Only bad games no one has ever heard of can be kino.
boring crap. you endure the slog only to witness your character dying begging like a cuck.
Both. Its 10/10 for me because i LOVE westerns, but i can totally see how its like 6/10 for someone who doesnt give a shit about them.
You can do that in 1 though.
I love westerns, but this one ain't it. It's just gay Netflix melodrama for redditor pseuds.
game has realistic horse mechanics bro!!1
you are not a game developer and never will be fucking faggot. we are consumers and the game is fucking boring, that's a categorical failure and it's the crux.
Forgot to specify that i stay in chapter 4, fucking around.
You're out of your gachaslop playing mind. It's one of if not the best recreation of that era ever made.
we are consumers and the game is fucking boring
Top 10 best selling video game all time
The consumers spoke you mouth breathing retard.
When I'm in the mood for something relaxing, roaming the map and hunting, camping out, and not returning to basecamp until Charles or whoever comes to find me, it's great.
That said, I have modded the skinning animation to speed it up a bit because Jesus Christ I don't need to see it ten thousand times for the ~immersion~.
I love riding up around the O'Driscolls barn, north of Strawberry. It's great for bears and horses.
Not him but it's the 8th best selling game of all time
I played red dead 1 after finishing 2 and it just seems more fun to me. Also how are you supposed to feel attached to your family or uncle if you didn't play the 2nd one first? Mexico is pretty cool and I'm sad it wasn't in the 2nd game.
A movie
Not a particularly good one but a movie nonetheless
get into 20 man shootout
looting the bodies afterwards takes almost twice as long as the shootout
find out looting is pointless 30% into the game because you rob a fucking bank
it's shit
if it didn't have the le production values meme at 110%, it would be considered one of the worst video games ever made. It's barely one, at that
What if people don't mind control being taken away?
Those people need to stop buying video games.
2007 + 18
Oh, too late I guess.
based appreciator, the art style is really great. can definitely see how they were influenced by the American Romantic landscape paintings
I don't care how well the stirrups are detailed if it's spiritually a contemporary (sissified) depiction of the period. None of it feels authentic. Everything is perfectly tailored to scream "look, we are just like hollywood now! Games are art too!" at you and elicit a tearjerker moment at every turn. It's not fun. It's not deep. It's not western.
no bullshit fully volumetric clouds in the sky
Most impressive part desu
Too bad the game part of this video game is complete ass.
overstayed its welcome but its was fine a good 8/10 game but im not a huge fan of movie games
Take it to Anon Babble
Pure slop. Would have loved an actual good game in the same world though.
For some reason I enjoy it but I'm a person who might walk in a video game sometimes because it feels more realistic
