Compared to other Rockstar games, they could be considered mid, but if you look at them as standalone games, there's nothing like it. The problem with Rockstar games is that their games are held up to a standard no other developer is being held at. Red Dead 2 and GTA 5 blow every other sandbox open world game out of the water. If GTA 6's story isn't all that, I still believe it'll be the most technically impressive game ever made.

Anon I grew out of GTA before 5 even came to PC. I played it on the 360 and the single player was worse than 4 (and Episodes) in all ways that mattered to me personally. GTAO came out and it was significantly less fun than GTA4's free roam multiplayer. I probably stopped playing GTA5 at all before 2013 was even over.
Why should I believe that now finally there will be even decent shooting mechanics, horrible characters that don't make me want to turn the game off, etc? And this one looks genuinely uglier than ever. Mutt ugly like Cyberpunk 2077. GTA was always shallow lowest common denominator trash. I was just in that lowest common denominator back in middle school. It perplexes me that I am obviously in a tiny minority, though it rationalizes my general cynicism.
So what will I do when GTA6 releases? Idk some Doom II wad maybe. This series means nothing to me. I've had every 3D GTA on my PC for years and can't be bothered to play those in a vacuum.

After playing 3, Vice City and San Andreas, the later 4 & 5 didn't feel anywhere near as exciting, if you're a zoomer that grew up on 5 I'm telling you 6 is not master piece you expect it to be and your peak enjoyment of it will be on a modded PC version.
