What's a braindead build that doesn't need items and annihilates the enemies?
I don't care enough to think about it. I played 10 hours before and dropped. I want to see the story but I couldn't care less about the combat, I'll even play on easy, something that I never did

Monk
With the new patch, a Hexblade Lock is probably what you're looking for. Charisma will cover your damage and also allow you to have social stats for doing story stuff. Just make sure to bind your weapon as a pact weapon and its damage/hit will work of Charisma, allowing you to dump str.
Also if you really don't care for the combat just download a cheating mod.
Just watch it on youtube if this is how you feel about the gameplay, unironically.
I wanted to say the same thing. If he's too stupid for the combat in BG3, he should just watch someone else's playthrough. The combat is meant to be 50% of the fun, with the other half being exploration and dialogue.
tfw the person that you're watching chooses to get fucked by the bear

Grim.
Doesn't need items
Monk needs items, monks benefit massively from items in fact
Open Hand Monk can be really strong without items, I'll consneed that, but it still helps a lot to have things like the Sparkle Hands or the Graceful Cloth, or any of the other dozen unarmed strike/monk magic items
Moon Druid, you just turn into a big monster and kill things
In fact, Moon Druid CAN'T benefit from most magic items and still kicks ass
Moon Druid is a good recommendation. Also, I agree about Monk. The strongest Monk build needs Str pots at the very least, and those are items. You're meant to dump Str and then use the potions after every long rest.
If someone doesn't want to use Str potions, they can play a Dex Monk, which needs items, like the lightning gloves.
Baldur's Gay
Don't play bear faggotry, play Expedition 33. It absolutely fucking MOGGED this game. Every single woman in it is sexy and can be barefoot. More importantly, no forced fag or bear sex.
check out this comment in the Anon Babble BG3 general
you can make any build op
if you prepare for 10 minutes before any given fight
if you play on easy I doubt you'll have to think much about anything no matter what you do
I'll even play on easy
Wizard / Sorcerer and focus on AOE and multi-target spells I guess.
This Anon Babblenigger post made me realize the ultimate party setup.
2-person party: Tav and his waifu
Man, I was really KEKADOODLEDOOing myself with a full party.
why not Tav and his harem
Warlock eldritch blast spam is very grug brain friendly.
The game sucks cock so don’t feel bad about dropping it if you aren’t having fun, it never gets better no matter what people tell you.
Expedition 33 is great if you like games being led along on rails from one cutscene to the next with no real decisions to make except when to press the dodge button. Also if you're a French emofag.
There's a difference between strictly requiring some items to "enable" a build (as it falls apart without them) and using ones to further enhance your char's efficiency. Open-Hand Monk with 3 levels of Rogue/Thief is a match made in heaven and works out-of-the-box. If you picked a Background (then when the time comes Expertise) that synchronizes well with them you can also cover Rogue tasks from the get go, essentially freeing a spot in your party. Are there items out there that notably enhance it's capabilities? Absolutely. But it's not "needed" per se to be a powerful member of your party, especially below Tactician.
I feel the OP-ness of Tavern Brawler distorted some people's opinion of how strong DEX OH Monk is by default. It's not an upper echelon build as only the admittedly OP ones belong there but it's in whatever category we have right below them. And it's easy to understand how it works and simple to play, which is a big bonus for OP. Besides I feel OP's main intention here is to avoid gear-hunting and figuring out synergies by himself - which is allowed with this concept. Did you just see something at a trader that seems good for your Monk? Did you just loot something? Just slap it on him and proceed.
Should I just give up on the genre if I hate Larian games?
Forced myself to complete D:OS2 and it was one of the most miserable experiences of my life. Dropped BG3 midway through act 1 because I could tell it was going to be more of the same shit.
These are apparently the peak of CRPGs so I don’t know what else is worth checking out.
build
i fucking hate what ttrpgs have become
autism was a mistake
What part of those games made you hate them?
I made this webm for you, OP. It's me playing on the hardest difficulty. The game is much easier on lower difficulties, so you should probably just learn the game instead of asking for le OP build.
Battle Master 12, you're a literal superhuman, there's no other class that comes close to your tier of power.
incredibly milquetoast western fantasy setting that does nothing to hook or grab me
no likable characters because every companion is either an insufferable snark factory or just kind of exists
mind numbingly slow plodding combat, uh oh it’s the enemy’s turn time to sit and watch them run around for the next 30 minutes until I get to react
I really did my best to give them a fair chance. In Divinity I was so checked out by the time I got to the island area and still don’t know why I committed to seeing the credits roll. Like the only nice thing I can say is I can freely kill any NPC I don’t like, which is most of them.
What's a braindead build that doesn't need items and annihilates the enemies?
I mean all of them. The game is piss easy. Disappointingly easy.
Battle Master is kind of low skill if you pick the right manoeuvres. I showed what to use in my webm. Feinting gives you Advantage, and Riposte lets you attack during the enemy turn, so you're attacking more than anyone else. I definitely think people should play Fighter if they don't know what to do.
Anon asked for a simple as possible build, and you want to make him multiclass
Before the schizo shows up, what's your favorite class and subclass from Patch 8? Mines Giant Barbarian
Bladesinger and nothing else even comes close
I'll say Swarmkeeper, since it's the only new class I'm using. It's like a direct upgrade to Hunter, since Hunter gives +damage on hit, but it's physical damage. Swarmkeeper gets elemental damage.
The minmax goblin in me says Hexblade, but I really like the new Barbarian.
Death Cleric is really fun. I wish gestalt builds were a thing in BG3 so I could mix Death Cleric and Necromancer Wizard.
I get what you're saying but it's a brain-dead build that's literally about Attack+Bonus Unarmed Attack(s) and it levels like this:
pick Monk at CC
pick WotOPH at level 3 (when subclasses unlock)
click on the "Multiclass" button at top-right at level 7 and pick Rogue
level up as such until you hit level 9 (again, sublcasses) and pick Thief
at next level-up (level 10) continue as Monk and finish the game as such
As shrimple as. He doesn't even have to make choices at any point. Aside from that one multi-classing it's just spamming the Proceed button.
I'm tempted to replay the game again soon but I have no idea what class I'd want to go with. My first playthrough was a warlock and I enjoyed that a lot. Was thinking Druid, Paladin, or Sorcerer this time. Did you guys have fun with any of these three?
Smells like bearfucker cope. E33 is genuinely the highest rated video game of all time on Metacritic. Larian might be able to pay for reviewers with their chink money, but they can't buy off gamers.
Moon Druid in this game is pure kino. Not sure how it'd work as a main character though, might want to download a mod that lets you have infinite wildshapes out of combat.
Have you tried Wild Magic Sorcerer? That's the funniest class, due to the fact that you can transform your team into cats and dogs by accident.
Druid (Circle of the Moon) is fun if you want to transform into animals and beat them up like that.
Paladin (Oath of Vengeance) is fun if you want to hit really hard. They can give themselves Advantage on all attacks with Vow of Enmity, and they eventually get Haste.
Those are all decent enough options
Druid is fun for act 1 but falls off after that because there's not much relevant to them. You still get to talk to animals, and Moon Druid getting new forms is fun, but there's only one druid grove and its in the first act. Druid wildshapes also give you lots of movement options to explore levels
Paladin is fun because it has a ton of dialogue but you can sometimes have your oath break for really stupid reasons, and the Paladin/Warlock multiclass got nerfed so you won't get 3 attacks anymore
Sorcerer has a good amount of dialogue in act 1 at least, I can't speak for the other acts because I didn't get that far with my sorcerer
Paladin is great for a main character, you get tons of really cool class dialogue options.
Bro, but his ASI levels?
I know some people think the illithid plot felt a bit forced but to me the highlight of the game is when there's cult shit going on.
Going underneath moonrise and seeing a giant illithid base was pretty sick. I also like the temples of Shar and Cazador. Something about the surface being completely unaware of things brewing in the underground always gets me.
I can't deal with multi fags. The game gives you 4 Feats max (most have 3) and they're like
yeh bro just switch class at 3. it's all good lol
Meanwhile the highest stat boost on items is +2.
Shovel + Minor Illusion + AOI Spells/Abilities = Win by round one on technician for most encounters.
Tactician*
It's a crime Shovel doesn't get more lines
It's a 9 Monk/3 Thief build, so we'll have 2 AISs. You can get a third by going 8 Monk/4 Thief but the benefits granted by the 9th Monk level outweighs it imho.
Back to the topic: since Anon obviously doesn't want to complicate his life with STR Elixirs Tavern Brawler is out of question. So just get +2 DEX and WIS.
Shit, I'm actually pretty tempted to try paladin now. Would you recommend Tav or Durge? Durge seems like it'd make my life hell, but would that make for a fun playthrough?
If I played druid, I'd want to be more caster oriented if possible. Circle of Land and Spores both sound cool.
I dabbled into a bit of Wild Sorcerer when playing Warlock and it was kinda shit, but I think the other subclasses sound cool.
Durge Paladin is cinema, classic tale of redemption.
Considering its target audience is women playing it as a VN, I’m surprised no one has extracted the dialogue trees and thrown together a site yet.
9/3 is better if you don't have an aoe attacker in the party, otherwise 8/4 is better
Can the Tiefling Refugees stay in the Grove for good? I mean is that a possible outcome recognized by the game?
Guess it's just side with the Goblins and slay the Grove or the other way round but I'm curious if anybody tried this.
Can the Tiefling Refugees stay in the Grove for good?
No.... they always leave the Grove after you save Halsin. If the Tieflings stayed in the Grove, then Last Light Inn would have a lot less people. I remember one time I showed up in Act 2 and they weren't there, because I didn't understand the siblings were key to their survival.
No.
Thanks! I'm only about to visit the Goblin Camp but if I understand correctly the "Defeat the Goblins" quest ties it all together. If I don't report back to Zevlor that Kagha gave them a deadline he never suggests to get rid of the Goblin leaders to provide them safe passage.
But then Halsin should initiate the same quest upon freeing him as a pre-requirement for his help with out tadpoles. So the Goblin leaders has to go one way or another, unless you side with them and exterminate the whole Grove. Act 1 is kind of railroaded so far desu.
Act 1 is kind of railroaded so far desu.
It is, but there's actually two different good endings for Emerald Grove. You can kill the goblin leaders at the camp, or you can talk to Minthara and tell her about Emerald Grove. When she shows up, you can help her or defend it. The fight is fun to do one time, and I recommend it if people haven't seen it.
Is this the betrayal path, right? Though I think the game doesn't recognize it differently than the traditional "good" ending. So it's a technicality more or less. Still cool but probably best saved for future runs due to it's novelty value.
Minthara
I still don't know what to do with her. Originally I wanted to save her for an Evil run where I also romance her. Then I heard Larian pussied out and now she's available for everybody. Yet it doesn't sit well with me to get her with my Goody Two Shoes Tav. Would she be a good pairing with a ruthless Dark Urge?
Yet it doesn't sit well with me to get her with my Goody Two Shoes Tav
I think she's evil, because I tried to use her one time, and I kept getting
Minthara disapproves
when picking good options. This was after knocking her out in Act 1, and then she appears in Act 2. I think you should use her if you want to be evil. I'm just going to bring her along in a future playthrough despite not being evil. You control what your companions do anyway.
Tencent STILL shilling
No one's buying an incomplete game chang. You can stop self bumping on your phone farm.
Oh shit... I just remembered I haven't even done the Goblin Camp in my current run. That means I can still knock Minthara out and recruit her.
Grym on Honour Mode
I defeated him earlier today but that fight was just horrible, even with the anvil smash. There was also a few times where he didn't get the Overheated debuff despite standing in the lava.
Shovel
Not Fork
metacritic matters when it supports my argument
ok thirdie
Literally just 12 levels in fighter lel
this but unironically
Both games are chink astroturfs. E33 is actually a good game though unlike Tencent Gate 3. Pushing a crpg as popular has always been straight cringe.
Check the ingame mod manager and look for a cheat item that gives you +30 in every stat or some shit
the person is playing as a woman

what gave you the impression that I was being ironic
china schizo has joined the chat
schizo
you've been exposed so many times by literal facts chang. anyone still making these threads is the schizo. but they clearly need the rmb.

Thoughts on Circle of Stars dudu?
Deepseek is thinking...
God Barcus is such a pussy
Good summary! I generally prefer the former as it gets you:
dice updated to 1d8
no more Difficult Terrain penalty + 6m Jump
Ki Resonation Punch (both as Action and Bonus Action)
Ki Resonation Blast (free Action)
Keep in mind we're talking about end-game here. A bigger bag is never a bad idea!
Monk build
Any tavern brawler build
/thread
Wow, absolutely riveting gameplay. Truly goty material.
Hexblade Warlock (Pact of the Blade) with the Shadow Blade spell. Unlike the actual tabletop game, shadow blade lasts until a long rest and does not require concentration, so as long as you are willing to spend a spell slot every day, you can have it permanently with no further upkeep. Which is insane because it's a shortsword that starts out doing 2d8 (more than a greatsword, and it gets higher as your warlock spell slots upgrade into higher level ones, also you can use it with a shield or an offhand stat-stick) psychic damage and you can Hexbind it to scale off of your CHA bonus. Hexblade also gives you acceas to martial weapons, shields and up to medium armor. Overtuned as fuck class overall really.
Alternatively you can go 8 Gloomstalker Ranger/4 Assassin Rogue with Archery fighting style, dual crossbows and the Sharpshooter feat , you basically are just stacking passives that make you blow people up super hard at the start of every fight
Monk needs items
LOL no. You just need to be Way of the Open Hand and go for 18 WIS/20 DEX. Not even memeing. You get 1d4 + Wisdom Modifier(necrotic, radiance or psychic) to all unarmed attacks at lvl 6 and at lvl 9 you get Ki Resonating blast/punch etc. So no weapon and no items.
1d4 base + DEX modifier + 1d4 + Wisdom Modifier + (whatever special attack you choose)
you can use your bonus action for a hand attack 1d4 base + DEX modifier + 1d4 + Wisdom Modifier or spend Ki for Flurry.
at lvl 5 you get a second attack 1d4 base + DEX modifier + 1d4 + Wisdom Modifier + (whatever special attack you choose)
you also have 19 AC no items
Giga Barbarian. I love speccing Karlach into a GIGA and having her massive thies strut around.
P.S. the reason i don't mix with 3 lvls in Thief is that i like the Ki Resonating Blast 3d6 Force Damage(overcomes the resists for a lot of enemies or objects and you also have more Ki as a pure monk). Mixing in Thief is for STR monks that use items and pots.
