yeah the dragon option is the wrong option because.......it just is ok!

sometimes the things that were cool to you as a kid, are in fact just that

he picked charmander

autistically train to lucky level 13

learn Metal Claw

makes Brock his bitch

I remember some kid in elementary showing me how he beat a gym at a type disadvantage by brute force out leveling it. It made me really autistically mad I thought he had to be cheating.

I had Blue so although I wanted a Charmander, I felt obligated to pick Squirtle.

I pretty much always pick the grass starter because I'm not a huge fan of fire types and I prefer getting a water type in the wild instead

he uses starters or legendaries

I beat the game as a kid with my level 80 charizard and 3 legendary birds

Chikorita

LMAOOOOOO

Legendary birds? I, uh...

Has there ever been a game where the fire type is the best choice? The only one I can think of is Arceus and maybe picking cyndaquil, because the typholsion was fire/ghost type. Oshawott was still a solid choice, so it really came down to preference.

gold and silver kind of
the first gym leader was a bird trainer and would tear you the fuck up if you went with grass
there were lots of plant and bug types in the early routes as well, rendering water and plant vulnerable in the early game overall
so fire is actually the easiest starter

If you go for a Gyarados (available before third gym) there's no real reason to pick Totodile and Chikorita sucks
Chimchar is one of two fire types available in DP so it's pick him or get fucked
Emboar is by far the best of the three in BW2
Gen 7+ any of the starters is so overtuned there's no real difference.

Charmander is easy in frlg.

In fact, it's probably even easier because the bug-types give it easy early levels to snowball.

And then you can totally have a Charizard if you save Misty for as late as you can.

Picking anything

Hold your head up high, pikachad. They'll never understand us.

picking charmander is alright. you're a fag if you pick bulbasaur though

Who cares about the starter, just use Nidoking and stomp everything in the way.

You had to do that in Yellow edition with Pikachu.
Since you cannot catch a water type Pokemon so early into the game, you had to grind out and get Pikachu up to lvl 21 so he could learn a strong normal attack

Cumming inside Misty

Yeah, it's stupid how hard he steamrolls through the entire game

Has any other pokemon singlehandedly buckbroke an entire campaign like that again?

Yellow version has a bunch of things added to it that weren't in Red/Blue that are geared for making Brock less of a pain.
You can catch Mankey west of Viridian, and both genders of Nidoran north of it. All three had their move learnsets altered so that they learn a Fighting-type move relatively early (Mankey gets Low Kick at lv9, the Nidoran get Double Kick at lv12. Butterfree's move learnset was changed so that it gets Confusion immediately upon evolution at lv10 rather than lv12.

No but gen 1 was so poorly made compared to the rest
