Why does Anon Babble hate him so much, I really felt bad when he was removed
Why does Anon Babble hate him so much, I really felt bad when he was removed
omg it's keanu reeves!
Because he's cooler than Anon Babble
he’s an asshole
I actually like the fact he just straight up fucking lies to you constantly, contradicts himself all the time and is actually just a terrorist schizo with delusions of grandeur. He's a pretty cool character.
I don't like any video game character that's always present with the player character.
It feels extremely suffocating and limits your roleplaying to "guy with annoying tulpa". You can't do anything in the world without remembering that he's in your head.
they should have gone harder on the fact that he's an unreliable narrator during his flashbacks it would have made it more fun
I don’t really hate the character but his presence wasn’t good for the type of game they were making, along with the general plot and how the character already has a name and a voice.
welcome to 2070s
same as 2020s
it's still THE SAME OLD SHIT
ARASAKAAAAA
first impressions are everything and he acts like a piece of shit for most of the your time with him.
Silverhand actually got bodied in seconds while Blackhand was the Chad Silverhand pretends like he was to V
I actually really liked that. Better to have V talk to someone and banter rather than just mumbling exposition to himself
He sounds like his constantly bored or tired and just overall really not that interesting of a character. Also the game overall is just aids.
Removed?
It honestly feels weird how after looking into the lore of Cyberpunk there were so many cool characters doing shit in the 2020s and everyone is either jacking them off or trying to emulate them. It reminds me of a bit of writing advice that goes something like “is this the most interesting period in you setting/characters life, and if not why aren’t we looking at that?”
Agreed. I miss when characters in games would lie to the player in ways that weren't obvious and hamfisted.
You could play him as a complete self-centered asshole during the flashbacks and that was fun.
You didnt play the dlc?
Apparently Shaiten survived the nuking of Arasaka tower and has spent the past 25 years (circa 2040s) Learning every martial art under the sun to embark on a global Arasaka goon killing spree.
The Cyberpunk lore is great when it's not CDPR writing it.
He's about as interesting as a cardboard box. And Cyberpunk 2077 will never be a real Cyberpunk game.
There is also Spider Murphy fucking around on the net and getting one of Saboru’s kids to commit sudoku.
His hyper cynical edgy fuck the system burn it all down and everyone and everything attitude is a pretty good distillation of the tone of the game. I like him a lot. He may not be the most sympathetic but hes definitely a fun character. I love having him as an invisible side character to lots of story moments.
He is the best part of the game desu
Without him CP2077 would have been very bland and boring
basically, summed up how i felt about him overall
i do think it's an issue that he almost borders on being bipolar with his feelings on the MC depending on the mission, but i chalk that up to having to write so much for side content making that a hard thing to manage
i thought he was mostly fine except for a few glaring moments where it was obvious Keanu had no idea what the context was for what he was reading
You don’t see a problem with that? Like if your game hinges on one character then it probably isn’t very good.
Yea, but I felt they did a good job of him growing on you. Besides you are the asshole for that non DLC ending. You can't even use the boddy but you throw a hissy fit. Worst ending by far.
Did you say bugbear sexo?
The one id love an explanation for is JK Simkons in BG3. Good voice actor, atrocious performance. What was going on?
his lines were all recorded during covid so he literally had no idea what he was reading
Jason Isaacs and whoever the bitch who voiced Orin both did theirs later on which is why they are much better
I like Johnny as well as Keanu's hammy acting, and the (Don't Fear) The Reaper ending you get if you're buddy-buddy with him is badass.
youtube.com
I'd think Orion will feature more on the rest of the Arasaka crew
*forgot to add there's videos on yt of him recording his lines if you want to see them
he's literally in his pajamas
Becuase he's Chapter 2, intresting.
He's okay, just typically doesn't have anything of value to say and is kind of boring. His line delivery is not great sometimes and I found the bit where you have to play as him and trudge through Arasaka goons to be really boring. The game in general just got to be a slog after a little while. Tons of quests in the main story where you basically get no action or just walk around and scan shit and listen to exposition, have weird and tedious dialogue, gimmick missions that ignore your character build completely, cutscenes that treat you like a little doodoo bitch baby, extremely long unskippable cutscenes and railroaded sequences. Actually most of the quests suffer from that. Before you get to do anything fun, you first need to look around a 20,000 square foot building and interact with a random object so a character can tell you what to do next. You need to read the shard after you defeat every Cyberpsycho and then look around the area and find More Information to send to Regina and then text it to her manually. Turn on the power first, find the control panel, calibrate the turret, guide the Flathead through vents for 20 minutes, scroll back and forth in a BD for 20 minutes scanning green and yellow circles. Neat eye candy but not at all engaging as a game and extremely shallow as an RPG.
After watching a woman pick grapes for a day I'll never complian about missions again. Than you have 2 more days to go...
Not really, that's like saying a movie is bad just because an actors performance carried it.
If literally everything else about something is shit aside from one thing then no it’s not good. At best it’s mediocre with one outlier. Also a game isn’t a movie, it needs to fulfill much more in a span of time far greater.
yeah act 2 got completed pretty early on during the early access period even tho you couldn't play it then
i dunno why they decided to rush out JK Simmons' VA work like that tho, he didn't even have that many lines. It's pretty much just the first time you go into moonrise cutscene, then the 2 fight conversations
I didn't say that. What i said is that V as a character isn't very interesting so Johnny makes for a good companion type character.
After a replay I don't hate him at all. He's great.
he was more interesting than both of the player character VA's even tho Keanu fucking SUCKS at acting
wut
For me, it was Judy and her romance.
Also shoving my Gorilla Arms up everybody's asses because guns mean nothing against the force of a roided up fisting machine.
Oblivion reference. You have to follow 3 people to see if they are spying on someone. Imagine following a random NPC in the game for a full day, 3 times.
