Got a Switch 2 preordered, with Mario Kart in the bundle. Gonna get Bravely Default digital on release. Excited for the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet patch and the GameCube games too.

No, I bought myself a Switch and bought all the games everyone raged about. BOTW, Odyssey, TotK, mario wonder, mario kart, smash bros, mario maker, mario 3d world, splatoon, animal crossing, and one of my favorite games, remade, Link's Awakening with it's ugly playdoh art style that also killed any interest I had in the GREAT Link between worlds sequel.

I haven't finished any of those games. Every game I played and enjoyed on my Switch was released on PC and was a better experience. I don't know if I just don't like Nintendo's design philosophy on video games anymore or if my taste is just bizarre but it felt like a huge waste of money. Switch 2 is going to release a decade behind in tech, focus on gimmicks instead of games, and have first party games I just don't vibe with. PC is the only way to play video games in my opinion.

NTA but this is a hugely cucked mindset. 90% of games in the past did NOT come with game altering glitches and in fact you often had to look for them to find it, and when you did they did not break the game. Imagine post launch bug fixing being necessary.. They should come out finished with as minimal bugs as possible.

I think I tend to like multiplayer games that I can play with friends, which Nintendo's online is genuinely pathetic in pretty much every single regard.The last thing I want in a video game that depends on connection, ping, and no lag from the game itself, is running on a Switch where all of that happens. Splatoon being P2P and being a nightmare to play with friends was so infuriating.

Other than MP, I like story and narrative games a lot too. But all the games I played on Switch didn't really have the depth I needed. I liked neir automata, I liked TLOU1, God of War, The Doom Games, Sleepy Dogs, BG3. I do like sillier games and games without much story. River City Girls, Sonic Mania, Dynasty Warriors Origins.
