I saw quite a few people speculating if the Cthulhu in the trailer or the medieval esque setting of the new doom could hint at a connection or something to a new Quake and well... The media embargo lifted today and Nope, not a thing, probably the closest Easter egg is that there is a weapon that looks like the nailgun which we saw on the first trailer that's it. No connection, no teasing and unless Nightdive's teased announcement at this year's quakecon is a Quake 4 remaster (this year is it's 20th anniversary so it'd kinda make sense) then I will safely consider the Quake franchise dead and buried. Fuck ID Software.
