For hardware I upgraded the joysticks to hall effects from handhelddiy, the ssd to the corsair 2TB TLC SSD, swapped the d-pad membrane for clicky switches, and upgraded the facebuttons to stone buttons from decky buttons. I slapped a leather dbrand skin on with touchpad holographic stickers. Decky loader is also great if you like customizing the UI and have cool plugins like decky framegen. Protonup-qt is how you would install proton-ge; if you know you know.

I'm personally more accustomed to xbox360 controller shape and functionality and can say the symmetric is just rat's ass when it comes to games where you use the thumbstick to move, its good for 2D games where you use the dpad though but even then the sony dpad is dogshit.

I love my PSPs, but they don't serve the same function as an emulation handheld. I just use a Miyoo Mini for that though, I don't go in for this newer stuff because most of it is based on Android, and the newer systems that they support are imperfect (PS2, Gamecube... etc.)

Anything roughly Wii and higher is $300+ territory and many of them use Android on top of it which lacks modern emulators due to all their emulators primarily being ports compared to Linux/Windows machines which have native emulators. But if you're spending that much money the only reason you wouldn't buy a Steam Deck/Rog Ally X is because you want a smaller form factor which costs more money.

Yeah, it's easy since the directory structure of steam games is identical to windoze. I installed a few mods to make E33 run more performant and not look total ass from nexusmods.

It depends on what you're modding, especially in the case of Bethesda games. You usually have to run the mod loaders via Wine or do a bunch of annoying extra steps when modding on Linux because mods are made in expectation of Windows. Anything that requires ini tweaks is as simple as it is on windows, I believe UE5 mods require hoops, and I know Bethesda mods require quite a lot of hoops. When it comes to .dll mods I believe you have to install the game itself via Wine so that the mods work properly? I never went fully into figuring this stuff out but I know it's much more involved on Linux.

Loved my 2 psp's and pspgo. Then got the vita1000 and liked it a lot.
Then the 2000 came out. I remember shitting on threads on why would anyone want one if the oled is better.
Then one day a secondhand shop owner showed me his vita2000 and i fell on love. The weight, slightly rounder with plastic instead of metal, slightly bigger buttons. It was perfect. I bought one instantly and never looked back. My fav so far. Playing as we speak!

I genuinely can't understand why handhelds are still a thing or who the fuck buys them. It used to make some sense back when these devices could literally fit in your pocket and when I was a kid being dragged around on car trips all the time. And when SMARTPHONES didn't exist. But all I ever see is adults with these large game tablets. Why? Either you are working or you are home where you can play on PC. Yeah maybe I get like a 30 minute lunch break or bus ride between then. But how addicted are you that you have to spend that small time gaming? What would I rather do? Read on my phone and enjoy the scenery. Or be a cringey adult with a large carrying case for my gaymen device, boot it up, barely make any progress, and potentially get heckled by strangers asking what the fuck I'm doing?
