there are good jrpgs, eiyuden just isn't one of them.

yeah, i was surprised how well 1+2 was handled. after playing Metaphor i was really worried the localizers would go nuts and spew verbal shakespearian diarrhea all over the new script. or worse - follow Eiyuden Chronicle's example with memes and poopjokes. instead it was a straighforward retranslation with grammar and continuity errors fixed while not trying to "fix" any outdated gendered language or anything.

eiyuden was borderline unplayable for me because of the dog shit writing/meme spew dialogues. when will they stop doing it?

One of the interesting things about Konami is thst unlike Capcom their ips never got beyond their original creators. Silent Hill, MGS, Castlvania, they can’t continue any of them.

Still a much better game than Suikoden 3 or 4. There's no better alternative to Suikoden nowadays.

couldn't stand 3 coming off the 2D titles but after giving it another shot more recently it's really not that bad. just needs an overhaul to shrink the maps and speed everything up overall.

Even V, though it is pretty good, suffers from it. It aged like milk...

Suikoden simply took ages to adapt to 3D decently enough. In my opinion only S5 got it.

If they speed things up a bit, and remove the Magic friendly fire garbage i might excuse it, even the army battles.

i bought it, the numbers on Steam looks mid but i know the reception was positive.

two for me - PS5 for trophies and Switch because why not get a backup. even considered getting the Xwhatever ver since that'll probably be the rarest one later on but i'm kinda sick of hoarding plastic desu.

most of all the localization was fucking stellar and should serve as an example for anyone that says we don't actually want 1:1 translations.
