ITT: Games that should not have been made

ITT: Games that should not have been made

The puzzles in Zelda were never that deep but in this and Echoes of Wisdom they all have the same fucking answer

what were they thinking, nobody wanted the same world and the sky islands and underworld were just featureless slop

I liked the game but I agree with you. Reusing the same map of a previous entry is the most annoying thing in any game, unless it's just a nice bonus like in Pokémon Gold and Silver.

Honestly they should’ve done Two things

they should’ve created a new Zelda game instead

if they were hell-bent over creating TotK, they should’ve planned it as 2027 title as a anniversary celebration or something

Echoes of Wisdom

Oh yeah! That was a thing
Barely anyone talked about it in the past months. Did they fuck it up?

game sold 20 million

Anon Babble: they shouldn't have made it

I know not to listen to Anon Babble ever

Why would I care about how many copies it sold if it was literally a lazy asset flip of botw? MM was an asset flip done right

Titanic was the best selling movie of all time once and I’d say it was a mistake.

The biggest thing I hate about the game isn't even in the game. It's that Aonuma actually thought this game might be deserving of GotY.

Still better than Baldur's Gate 3.

It would’ve won if Baldur’s Gate 3 didn’t release. The competition wasn’t that fierce.

It was the 3rd Zelda game in a row where one action is the solution to nearly every puzzle in the game. That and the modern 2D Zeldas don't get as much attention, it's no wonder Echoes flopped.

for me it's legitimately the fact that this COULD have been a DLC despite the memes

one action is the solution to nearly every puzzle in the game

This is always a problem when you have a game with near infinite solutions. When I played scribblenauts, I could solve nearly every puzzle with a pterodactyl or a rope, because the rope would drop the stars through any trap doors they were sitting on, and the pterodactyl was not hostile towards you when you spawned it but it could attack enemies.

realistically there's no way this game could've ever released as a DLC. no major company would sell 5 years of labor working on a new physics engine as just a DLC.
It's TotK's biggest problem, they completely redid everything under the hood, then just released it with the same exterior as the old one, and it turns out, that exterior is most of what people care about.

There is literally no way that it took 6 years development time to make that game.
It was 1-2 year development at best, there simply isn't enough content to say that it had a longer development time than Majoras Mask, Windows Waker, Twilight Princess, Skyward Sword.

My bet is that they were working on something else at the same time.

Wheres the schizo who calls everyone Eric? Hes the only reason i come to ToTK theads.

So is it a kingdom that is crying, or a kingdom that is torn?

It's Tears as in crying, officially.

Well I hope they learned from this then. Mario Odyssey's DLC was that luigi balloon thing and people had plenty of fun with that.

I also hope they never pull a stunt like this again, but companies generally lack the ability to learn, especially when the game itself sold 20 million copies and was therefore a success.

Too bad that fun was quickly ruined by hackers putting balloons in impossible places, rendering the whole thing worthless because Nintendo couldn't be assed to put a legitimacy tracker on balloon locations.

Aren't indians fighting pakis now? Maybe he was killed and his last thought was

Eric....

Hopefully karma finally bit him back for all those times he accused Eric of being raped, and he himself was anal raped before his beheading.

Weird that it was so impossible to prevent considering Mario Maker did a good job of it. There was a group of nerds who made it their goal to beat every single user level in super mario maker before the servers shut down, and I believe they actually managed to do it. I wonder if it took them a while to figure out my retarded levels.

kek

Not even close, tendie

I remember watching a streamer and his brute force solution to most puzzles was beds because they were both the best vertical and horizontal movement options for cheap

skill issue, flying tiles are way fucking better.

All of them

This was something that was carried from like the beginning of the game, and he was obviously doing it for the joke, but it’s amazing how many of the puzzles/movement could be brute forced that way

Just make your own fun bro

No thanks

The only tears are from the retarded OoTsnoys that make these threads every single day.

The only thing Echoes of Wisdom was good for was making it clear Nintendo has contempt for lorefags despite the fact it's THEY THEMSELVES who allowed the lorefags to flourish by connecting the games to each other, by effectively saying

oh by the way the original timeline has a primordial chaotic neutral force that's existed since for as long as the Goddesses and has been actively trying to unravel existence back into oblivion since they first created Hyrule SOLELY to fuck with it by imprisoning it within the world, and it's ONLY resolved in the Downfall timeline where everything goes to utter shit! Sucks to be the Child and Adult timelines, hope you weren't ATTACHED to those childhood classics or anything!

anyway, buy Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment to find out how the Imprisoning War in Tears of the Kingdom played out! Bet you wanted to learn more about that after we expected you to sit through the same cutscene several times with a different narrating voice, huh?

nobody cares bro. it's the lore of a children's bedtime story, not fucking tolkein.

Doesn't change the fact Link to the Past explicitly expanded upon the lore of the Zelda world by explaining where the Triforce came from, or that Ocarina of Time expanded upon the lore of the Goddesses who created the Triforce, or that Wind Waker and Twilight Princess both showed different continuations of what happened after Ocarina of Time (the future Link was forced to leave behind, and the original timeline where Ganondorf was thwarted before he could actually set his plans into motion), or that they literally made a game to serve as the chronological first in the series of events to explain why Zelda is always so special and important beyond "she's the princess."
