I am certain KCD2 and the two Kojimas will be the only good games in that list. I am an ACfag so I'm sure I will enjoy Shadows a great deal but there's no fucking way it will be objectively good or something I would ever recommend to anyone who isn't also an ACfag. Rockstar has always just been normalfagshit that is above average for normalfags so I'm sure GTAVI will perform the best despite their games only being worth playing after 90% off sales. Wilds has no fucking hope, normalfags have already forgotten it and MH fans were never interested. Gears of War is dead. The winner should be one of the Kojima games, but it will be GTAVI.

I cant see anything here coming out for rest of the year being better received than Expedition 33. Death Stranding 2 is the only other game that has a real chance as the media loves to worship Kojima.

In terms of games that will likely be nominated by the media, the best games will be Dark Ages, Split Fiction, Prime 4, and I guess E33 (I don't play that genre at all so I can't really judge but it's being lavished with praise). Everything else in that conversation will likely be in the 6-7/10 range while being overhyped, like MH Wilds was (enjoyed it, still disappointing and full of needless "innovation")

Personally, I'm most looking forward to Dark Ages, Shinobi Art of Vengeance, both Ninja Gaidens coming out, Cosmic Invasion, Absolum, DK Bananza, Fuga 3, a handful of indies and low-budget studio games that have no chance in hell of getting GOTY noms, and if you count remakes then THPS3+4.

Yotei is swapping to non-linear "do these targets in any order" main story which ruins its chances. No game pulls this off narratively. They have to be written/designed with the intention of someone doing it as your first target, they won't have the raised stakes or added weight because of this.

Metroid Prime Beyond will be the Nintendo nominee. It's the most anticipated game for the Switch 2 and there's too many other contenders to make place for DK or Mario Kart. Either of these will win best family game, though.

You can say a lot of things about RDR2, but the story is not garbage. It is performed and written very well. The only real issue is that, due it it being a video game, it has to be padded to oblivion. RDR2 could unironically be a fantastic 90-120 minute long film, maybe 150 minutes if you really wanna jerk off, but the problem is that the story is stretched out so fucking long.
That is the problem with all video game stories. The best video game stories get mogged by even medium films because every game has to add filler because a 90 minute game that costs $60 (I mean $70-I mean $80) would be met with absolute vitriol.
Now... is RDR2 fun to play? Meh. Not really.

In terms of budget yes, but it is quite literally a studio that is fully independent and is getting the majority of their funding from grants and the director's rich family. Thing is people see "indie" and think "small, usually 2D budget games with quirky aesthetics" and not the actual status of the studio.
