Is weird how I know nothing of this game despite it being so successful. Usually cultural osmosis is enough for me to know a few plot bits of character names or bosses, but I have never seen people talk about this game in any context outside of shilling for it. Is always about how successful it is or how much of as "breath of fresh air" is, but is never about the game itself.
The Story gets worse the further you go. A lot of people are praising the game as 10/10 when they're halfway into Act 1. By the time you get to Act 3 it's pretty slop.

Plot and characters in Oblivion really amount to just means to an end. It (despite huge mechanical flaws) really leans on the systems, and it kind of halfass does it well. Get a quest to do X. Use your skills the way you think it should be done. It's pure jank, but in a charming way most of the time.
