one of the worst roguelikes

one of the best roguelikes

it'd an alright roguelike

its solid

I sunk 100 hours into it which is a good chunk of time. The rare shit in it feels RARE which is good, but iirc the lack of synergies was kind of a buzzkill at times.

Great presentation and content, sadly too much restrictive or no fun allowed mechanics even for an Isaac enjoyer.

roll slop that shits on the memory of its inspiration and better game; Nuclear Throne.

I stopped playing it solely because I didn't like the dodge. Just didn't feel good.

roguelite with heavy focus on guns

cap dps on bosses

can i ask why? Isnt the main appeals of roguelites is that you get to be overpowered if you get lucky? It also shits on the gun variety since u can have a hundred guns, it wont matter if they do most of them do the exact same damage output on bosses, the relative scarcity of ammo doesnt help.

Entertaining, but there were some mechanics that were extremely idiotic and unfun. For one thing, they should ditch needing ammo for most weapons next time around, since it encourages you not to experiment.

Meme game, play a better one.

Game that would've benefitted greatly from having workshop support.

The game is good when you don't get stuck with shit guns but unfortunately most of the guns are shit. I didn't really understand the purpose of the luck system either, usually you put systems in to mitigate bad luck but Gungeon's mostly worked the opposite way by making you less likely to find good items for every one you found.

not a roguelike

Honestly, I didn't really had problem with ammo past the first couple of floors. The bigger problem is that you always end up with shitton of useless guns that clog up your inventory. Also Rat is the worst mechanic ever invented and whoever thought it was a good idea should be subjected to rat torture.

Gets samey and boring real fast. There's not enough variety and not enough options to get varied runs.

i once got lucky with an overpowered build that allowed me to get to the end despite my severe lack in skill. it was all stuff that blocked enemy shots however, not high damage (because there's basically nothing that buffs damage)

Shitty Nuclear Throne wannabe

It amazes me that playing this on switch is a completely different experience to playing it on PC with mouse and keyboard yet tendies will say the switch version is just as good as the PC one. Tendie cultists really are mindless apes

I really like the game but I HATE that unlocking weapons makes the game more and more random.
I don't want to unlock items I never want to use.

unistall without even playing it

Enter the gungeon is great, certified classic, only people saying otherwise are one hard skill filtered by it because its so challenging to properly play. The kind who just do a hundred runs until they get a lucky RNG god run and still fuck it up.
Exit the gungeon is terrible, and doesnt understand anything that made the first good - though maybe they fixed it up since.

EtG 2 looks like it could be good.

the lack of synergies was kind of a buzzkill at times.

That was my complaint but they fixed that in the OP picrel update. Even the letter r gun is top tier with several of the synergies

so that you have to win via skill.
Not getting hit on a boss gives you +1 HP, and that bonus can be spent to unlock shortcuts and such too. Doing no hit on many of the bosses is really hard, and therefore makes the unlocks rewarding. This is defeated if you can just one shot the boss with a cheese run.

It's fun and it actually encourages you to get better at the game. The patches added a lot of good content and polish to the game. I'm not sure what they're thinking with EtG2 being 3d, the sprites in EtG were nice and it was easy to judge bullet positions in 2D. I guess it's some kind of tradition for indie games to ditch their classic style and become generic for their sequel.

What games could scratch that etg itch?

kek, nice try.
Played it, its decent for 5-10 hours then its garbage. to play it you have to sign in, with discord and socials thrown in your face. Only one build is good.

If you play good the game gives you more keys therefore better builds
Stop getting hit dumbass
There’s a chance to get rewards the better you clear a room

Hopefully EtG 2, we'll see.
Other than that, im not sure. Some similar games like voidigo exist. That game can get pretty challenging at higher difficulties, but its too different to say liking EtG means liking it. Voidigo is also inspited by nuclear throne though

It was fun

Stop getting hit dumbass

I said that to a toober who kept blaming the game for "spawning bullets" on him, and getting "stuck on walls" aka, blaming the game and got permabanned. He did the same to dead cells, just lied about it to cope with skill issues.
fuck you, fliksgamingstuff, im glad your channel flopped.

anyway, who plays with KB+M? better aim control at the expense of less movement control. Personally I think the game is designed around 8 directional movement well enough and did everything on KB+M, aiming is much much more important at sniping high value enemies, plus it takes more skill to dodge and aim over dodge and auto aim cheat. Controller players should be locked from unlocking things for flawlessing bosses.

unironically EtG 2 may work well on switch 2 with mouse aim and gamepad movement.

I think I do bettwr with the Xbawks controller
Easier for me to dodge and blank even THOUGH my aim is worse it makes up for it because your hands are more spread out on KB+M
I hope there’s an enter the gungeon 2 because it’s a really good game, just got my lead god challenge and I am a fucking god
Now trying to beat the lich and didn’t realize he was THREE fucking phases

there is a 2, it was shown in the switch 2 reveal
basically looks like 1 but in 3D
We dont know much about it, if its the same original dev team or how it plays but, it does look like the first game at least, only 3D models.

Maybe I haven't gotten far enough but every run played the same and then every encounter in those runs played the same.

I'm a solo dev designing a roguelike twin stick shooter themed around witches.
What would you like to see in a game matching that description?

Paid 1.50 bucks for it, reached the dragon after 4h, beat him then uninstalled it and realised that fps roguelites are better because for the most part, they aren't filled with memeweapons/trash that can ruin your run.

its liquid

Gungeon is great. Eventually every run ends up too similar though. Especially if you do the Rat. Your runs just end up using the cheese gun every time.

If you use the cheat character that gets every synergy things are more interesting, but it's impossible to lose.

It's cool, I didn't like exit as much

I played it early on when getting ammo for the unlocked guns was rarer than a condom machine in the vatican and got tired of plinking away with my pistol.
I hear they improved this issue later on.

The 1st Floor is the worst simply because of how many Keys you need and the Game refuses to give you any unless you get lucky and Drill is in the Store.

boring as fuck zoomer game

noita / magicraft spell building.
like, isaac worked so well due to synergies, EtG worked a lot better when they added more synergies. Think, beam weapon + homing + split clusters giving you a big room clearing laser instead of just doing nothing.

if its witch themed, it needs that noita experimentation IMO, custom spell combos changing your magic missile into something crazy. or lame, or self destructive.
also potions or alchemy make sense, like a make your own potion thing, make a big heal, or instead a damage potion, or a buff etc, risk and reward built into the whole heal system.

lastly, witch lolis and mommies.

Well they better be fuckimg CUTE, for one

Exactly 1 slutty witch.
Exactly 1 witch (male).
Potion crafting minigame of some description.

Various aminal familiars that drastically modify gameplay

I liked it fine enough. I put a lot of hours into it just to kill time while waiting for people to finish other games. Runs became quick enough once you start to unlock things.

Lots of different witches with various themed colorful outfits and naturally all the witches have huge hats

It sucked until the synergy update

it's shit
90% of the weapons are garbage
"synergies" are forced and shit

why did they decide to make Enter the Gungeon 2 a weird 3d? Gungeon 1 was peak

this roguelite made me retroactively hate most other roguelites
I LOVE A GAME ABOUT GUNS NOT LETTING YOU SHOOT GUNS
I LOVE A GAME ABOUT COLLECTING LOOT LOWERING YOUR CHANCES OF GETTING BETTER LOOT AFTER FINDING SOMETHING RARE

It was fun for about an hour then became a huge slog and I stopped playing it.

First 2 levels are a slog on each run, I got used to playing on rainbow mode because of this

hahahaha

Its alright. Way too easy, legitimately the only thing that could possibly kill you are

fresh file rat luck stealing making it so youre first couple of runs have no guns, can potentially creat an unwinable scenario with the wall boss (yes this happened to me years ago and yes im still pissed)

going to the rat with mediocre gear

doing a high speed high curse run for teh lols

Aside from that nothing in this game can ever realistically kill you.

90% bad guns
90% bad buffs
Little to no synergies

but it can be beated even with bad guns

And you can paint a whole room with a toothbrush but Id rather play Isaac instead

that thing where the rat steals shit is the most unfun shit ever. i got to the final floor since i got a bunch of junk in a row and then the final junk upgrade was worse than the second last so i got screwed. a lot of unlockables being take no damage is not fun

no hit on many of the bosses is really hard

Skill issue. Its only hard for the fucking snake boss and the surpise door mimic
