Why is this allowed

Just dont buy it?

i bought starfield deluxe for early access.
never again.
$30 extra tax to play the game 'early' guarantees its not worth playing

It's a free market, they choose the price, you choose whether to buy it.

Pre-access players leaves bad review

Standard edition players notice bad scores and refund

1964591591.jpg - 465x214, 30.23K

I would buy it if it was 60.

It wasn't even a year ago when they started raising to 70 and now immediately after Nintendo's fuckery everything jumps up to 80 suddenly... fuck this

80 euroshekels

What the fuck. E33 with the pre-purchase and first week discount was 45 and normally 50.

Does spouting generic ideology as if it means anything really make you feel smart? Are you like 12 years old?

Increases to 70

Gets eternally BTFO'd by AA for 2 years

Yes this is the time to increase to 80

I've never bought AAA full price but there's no reason to even buy AAA currently, they're all mediocre slop.
Rematch is the only game i'm planning to buy this year since the playtest was pretty fun, unless some suprise hit like E33 comes out.

Because (((social))) media has turned a large number of people into fomo addled retards. Some of which seemingly think paying a ~40% premium to get access a whooping 2 days earlier is a sound investment. Naturally, publishers will fleece those retards for everything they can legally get away with.

the question is why do you niggers keep buying this shit then acting surprised. The worst part is you fucking admit it's abusive but "I'll still get it tho lol". Niggercattle.

Are you like 12 years old?

Facts don't give a shit about your womanly emotions. An offer only last if there is a demand.

ideology

It's literally how it is, not everything is about politics, schizo.

It should be shadow dropped so journos and eceleb faggots can't flood the market with shitty videos before the game is out.

This game will be half off in a month

Because there are stooges who’ll buy it.

Because retards buy it.

Capitalism has learned how to exploit social media FOMO to get low IQ retards to part with their money more easily.

Just wait until they lower interest rates and turn the money printer on again.

Because it's half as good as Doom will be.

because cucks legitimized it with diablo 4 paid early access

Because freedom

not even a literal Bethesda shill likes it

it's so over.

oh wait everyone forgets about all the shills day 1 eagerly paying 100 to play diablo 4 early?
lol
so quickly zoom zooms forget about the cancer they've caused

You control the cash you spend

This. And it doesn't matter how much money they have or how much they're paid if all that money can be easily taken from them. This is how you control the goyim.

To this day I can't believe 4 is not a F2P game.

i can't stand that peasant accent

exactly this lol. this is not even calculated greed anymore, this is outright panic and cope. it's like they're trying to sink AAA for good

could be worse, could be a cuck paying 30 dollars to play early access for a fucking f2p game like with path of exile 2

I have no sympathy for dumb consoomer retards who can't control their impulse buying.
You can simply not buy things, it's in your control.

We rest of buyers have it worse thanks to this idiots, fuck them.

they take advantage of stupid people who NEED to play it day 1. the game will be around for a long time but nope, we need to play it DAY 1 cuz we're autistic idiots.

I do hope so. It'd be easily the best game ever made then. I could pay 80 shekels for that.

One dollar per GB of disk space

trade has existed for all of human history you retard

i don't think that will solve anything at this point. we might see a slight boost from it, but in the end it'll just have an even greater hangover. we're not poor because we aren't printing money, we're poor because we've printed so much that the economy has turned retarded and rewards sitting your ass on a pile of "assets" more so than doing anything useful. printing more money will just make things worse

advance access is good only for mmos. not because some try hards have 3 days to get ahead in the market manipulation or meta drops but because the devs get the crashes earlier so they will start to fix them earlier as well. instead of being playable 1 month after release, you will just have to wait 3 weeks. it's good if you are really excited for the title desu.

It's fucked up that Game Pass means publishers have to mark up prices for people who aren't going through the subscription. I guarantee if Game Pass weren't a thing, these new releases would be at least $20 cheaper, and we'd have none of this Deluxe preorder bullshit.

Often they bundle future DLC with the premium edition, though I've seen games where the extra 30€ premium edition only gets you two silly skins and the 3 day early access. Also who knows how good any potential DLC would be anyway. Either way if I ever become dictator I'll make sure the ones doing this will get flogged.

why are they forcing me to buy a shit game

dunno why didn't they force your mother to have an abortion

Imagine if they didn't exist. AAA goyswill would disappear overnight. Nobody sane has ever bought AAA dogshit at full price

Calm down.

NPCs think they're smart for spouting basic shit they've seen on social media apps and TV. There's no logic.

Daily reminder the disc is 85mb, it has nothing on it, don’t buy this

this is pretty mean :(

But it is literally free market. Its allowed because why wouldn't it be? They can ask a million dollars for 1 hour early access if they want, and you can choose to buy that or not. If people will pay extra for a couple of days early, then they will keep doing it because why wouldn't they? What is the alternative, to have a state mandated limit on the price of entertainment products?

le literally le pee pee poo poo

It's not a free market, retard.

to have a state mandated limit on the price of entertainment products?

false dichotomy

I will play it on game-pass for 10$ and then it will eventually come to humble bundle.

"Must own it day one" fags seethe and cry.

Capture.jpg - 1478x426, 108.9K

Because retards enable it.

80 eurobucks

Yeah no I am not buying your game until it goes on sale

It's not a free market

In what way is it not? Can I not ask any price I want for a product I made? The OP question was "why is it allowed", and I'm asking asking what is the alternative to allowing a company to ask extra money for early access? I was offering the only suggestion I could think of, which is to not allow it, ie ban it

Reminds me of how people whined about 'vote with your wallets, guys!!!!' only to realize that they were then outvoted and got pissy over it.

This is a good thing for us.

file.png - 900x900, 472.59K

Another for the "wait for a sale" pile. Have enough games to last a lifetime. Haven't even touched DOOM Eternal yet, this game was gonna wait even if it was $60.

We are talking in the context of games. Can you answer any of the logical questions I asked? What is stopping them asking any price they want, and how would you suggest it not be allowed?

muh cashgrab editions or the fact they ruin the franchise with eternal and now this? either way the answer is money

Deluxe preorders would happen regardless, sadly. Death Stranding 2 has a 2 day head start if you preorder the digital deluxe version. Stranger of Paradise did the same and MMOs have been doing it forever.

My friend who always complains about how poor he is and how he can't buy games and plays a lot of free slop paid like $110 or whatever for early access to CIV VI and has less than 10 hours on record

free market

lol, lmao.

You keep posting this review and replying as if he absolutely destroyed the game but that's not the case at all, are you ok?

I was playing on an MMO private server with a lot of dad gamers when Diablo 4 came out. Most of them bought the early access edition and only played for about 10 hours or less too. I'll never understand it.

The fact that a guy literally under Bethesda's payroll is not praising it says enough, stop coping, Hugo.

how about we go back to having games that release in good proper enough states
back then they literally released huge and very experimental games with novelty engine stuff in a cd with no room for patches and updates like that, and it was a lot more functional than the new shit we have today

im not going to go full rose tinted glasses and say it was all that perfect but the current state of vidya quality control is bloody awful. very few devs of big ambitious games actually release a game that works or doesnt have glaring issues that 99% of people notice by literally just playing it

I have never ever bought a game above 50€ on steam in the 19 years I've had an account

pretty sure some time ago the pre-access reviews werent even shown so every shit game took advantage of that

ask nintendo
they started it

Almost 4x the price of ultrakill for its cheap knockoff holy fuck you can't make this shit up

Most of you retards voted for trump and praised his "le based tariffs" but are now complaining about higher prices.
Lol.
Lmao, even.

Does throwing a tantrum make you happier?

why is this allowed

Because people keep paying up?

Ah yes, the... *check notes* american game studio is making digital goods 80€ because of tariffs.

those darn import tariffs on digital goods grrrr
hecking drumpf

Really, dude? To the most ovbious bait ever?

It's peak FOMO and absolute chimp behavior

If this dumb faggot doesn't like it that probably means it's good

Tariffs effect the whole global economy, retards. Do you really think the consequences of trump's actions don't impact the world?

We are talking in the context of games.

Platforms like steam still have to follow the law where it operates (taxation, consumer protection like making gambling in children's games illegal, etc.).
Not just that but they also come up with their own rules.
You can't resell games. You don't negotiate prices directly with the publisher/developer. You have fees, taxes, regional pricing. Steam has a near monopoly on PC gaming and that gives it more freedom to jack up prices in the absence of competition.

Trying too hard now.

Low effort bait

yep, migatards are seething. This is good.

Way cheaper than nu-dooms

Infinitely better bossfights + weapons + melee, infinitely better counters and no green flash bullshit, way better fodder, more interactive enemies and physics

Way longer campaign

Prime Sanctums, Secret Levels, Alternate Weapons

Cybergrind being infinitely above Eternals' horde mode

Actual modding scene

Going to have fucking 10 Encores

UKMD isnt out yet, but you could already say this is a BRUTAL mogging

Pointing out a basic economic fact is bait

Lol, imagine being this stupid. Magats shouldn't be considered sentient beings.

Ok so lets kep it simple. What are the rules and regulations regarding the prices that a company can ask for their game?

Not gonna defend Nintendo but no, this preoder shit is not Nintendo's.

>Way longer campaign

actually 9 acts will be just as long as nu-dooms for the basic content of a playthrough

That's just sad. Have a last (You) since you are so desperate, last one you'll get.

How much of DA's playtime is collectible hunting, or pointless mecha/dragon parts?

All I'm seeing is bad feeback on those.

what's wrong faggot you don't like renting video games?

I'm sorry that leopards ate your face bro

how about we go back to having games that release in good proper enough states

that would be ideal. however, mmos never had good launches and this is because of their inherent nature. guild wars 2 had the smoothest launches that i've heard of for example and even that one had its issues for like 2 months post release day. this is why i only said this type of access would benefit mmos, because the issues would occur not via stress test betas which have their limitations but via live feedback. can't get more direct that this. yes i do miss the days where i could play the game out of the box and it had 1 or 2 patches given by free in the next months by some gaming magazine that came with software cds alongside a free full game. good luck with telling bethesda cu launch tes6 without walkthrough breakers lmao

just the fact that you can't resell the game already greatly limits downward pressures on the prices, and thus companies can jack up prices higher than they'd otherwise be able to. So it's not a free market.

In the context of the OP, does the company have the right to decide what they charge, and if so and you think this is wrong in some way, how would you prevent them from doing it?

concession accepted

Denuvo malware included. No thanks.

What does this even mean? Try thinking and using your own words for a change

Probably about the percentage of my playtime in 2016 that was seeking some shitty collectible

The jews

Just realized that this shill faglord and Karl Jobst are basically the same person.

What the fuck is wrong with Australians?

nigga if fucking shillmanlives has reservations like this that's a MAJOR fucking red flag
this is the same guy that tried to unironically sell everyone on launch day fallout 76
