I booted it up again with AT Rey Dau and legit no joke I fought him once, checked his gear it was all garbage and closed the game down haven't fought him since. I'm usually ok with World and Rise's drip feeding but honestly Wilds took it too far with padding shit out.

They casualized it way too hard mechanics wise by adding focus mode and perfect guard. Positioning is worthless as you can adjust your moves on the fly and guard almost anything in the game with barely any attention to timing. Balance's also a joke with monsters constantly stunlocked, status chained and dead in 5 minutes or less.

This is obvious to pretty much everyone who's been sticking with the series for a long time, but it feels bizarre that a company would take this much of a fat dump all over a formula they had perfected already just to chase some easy bucks from casuals who don't give a fucking shit about your series.

Because the formula sucks. All they did once this kusoge series went to handhelds was increase monster speed every release. Of course their mass appeal slop pc game played by Chinese had a lot of people pushing for the character to actually feel like they're fighting a monster instead of sledge hammering their toes for 25 minutes

Monster hunter hasn't been remotely dependable since it left console and even then it was just a gimmick game where you paintballed a rathian and watched it fly around in circles on the map

I'm fine with the gameplay itself but holy shit is the story bad. They just keep going on and on about shit I couldn't give a fuck about, I just want to hunt monsters not listen to some little Indian kid trauma dump. If all the supporting characters died in a fire or something it would literally improve the game in every way.

Played Rise last week and had no trouble finding lads to play with. Seems like people went back to the older games after Wilds ran out of content or people got tired of it in general.
