haha, I'm so glad I genocided all my friends and everything I loved just to be a blind, mute, overcooked chicken nugget with parents that wish I was dead
Haha, I'm so glad I genocided all my friends and everything I loved just to be a blind, mute...
she'll probably kill herself anyway
stuffed animal
yeah, she definitely is
Explain? I'm watching my father play it
girl named Alicia
goes into a land full of wonders
Oh, I see...
Now ask her if she wants to Alicia cock.
How many more times will you post this?
endless schizo threads about people justifying whatever ending and doing mental gymnastics as to the right reasons for everything
weird
play game
reach ending
it's actually just two assholes who decide they know what is better for the other
they force the matter
basically whoever you choose is just who gets to tell the other "lol you'll get over it"
Why did you faggots lie to me about this being some deep moral shit?
It was much more interesting than that. I love selfish assholery.
Media illiteracy award
She didn't genocide them retard. Her father will do it regardless, the choice is if she wants to live her life in the painting or in the real world.
Verso wanted out, she had to face her grief
Why doesn't Verso have to put up with his grief
Because Verso is already dead, painted Verso knows his family staying in the portrait is detrimental to them and makes his sacrifice worthless
He is immortal and can't die unless the painting is destroyed.
Verso should be tortured for all of eternity for what he did to Gustave
Sounds like Verso is finding one of his usual justifications to get what he wants
all my friends
Explicitly not Noco however.
Little shit can die and/or stay dead.
Is her vajeen burnt
She needs to touch grass
Maelle dies in act 2. Alicia is just some bitch
if renoir wished she were dead he wouldn't go back into the painting to save her
Noco gets resurrected, play the game
hence "can die and/or stay dead"
The writers wrote the script and knew if Gustave was alive, he would have convinced Maelle to go out. The writers want the family to be in eternal conflict, and by writing the script, so Gustave dies, makes Maelle ending happen. She dies in the painting and Renoir loses 2 children, so the family gets fucked over and the writers win.
We actually just copied Persona 5 combat system and gave a free aim function, removed guard and commands (auto-play tactics) from the battle menu. WE TOTALLY DID NOT RIP OFF PERSONA!!!
They copied the UI, but the combat and boss design absolutely mogs the everloving fuck out of Persona
I didn't have to use Buff > Charge > Attack on repeat in every single fight in expedition 33.
They even copied the way the camera pans 1:1 to the character. They couldn't have been arsed to make any original decisions and that free aim shit is just some phoenix point stuff.
Game too hard for babies ITT.
lol.
Is this want you guys wanted instead?
cope
Maelle is objectively the bad ending.
Text is slanted
WTF this is literally persona!!!
Incredibly low IQ take
Funnily enough she is still more beautiful than the average girl
Oh no we switched Item and Skill Position.
WE ARE TOTALLY NOT RIPPING OFF PERSONA GAAIS!
Chinese can't even bother to think why a game is fun that they are trying to copy to sell for a "Oh look we got X done by our guys at home. Be patriotic, buy and shill the game!" quick buck.
ITS NOT CHINA GAME.
Literally funded by Netease, I won't talk with shills other than to point out their retardation.
If she stays there she fucking dies a slow death. You're giving a cripple drugs and making her die out because she can't cope with loss.
Haha I dont play a game anymore that means all the npcs died when my dad erased my save.
Literally hurts to breathe
Why does Verso hate Alicia so much?
Anon, take your meds.
He told her to paint her own canvases if she wants.
But Verso's soul wants out.
Persona got mogged and you're just mad.
Whatever it is, Renoir was 100% right and having Verso do what he couldn't was the right choice.
Otherwise you get the dying junkie and her puppet world.
Nah, you take your meds you schizo shill.
Mutilating half the fun of a JPRG and making a snooze fest of a game isn't mogging anything, only thing that made the game interesting to you lot was the parry mechanism. LMAO. Otherwise you would be snoozing.
You were supposed to fuze together stronger demons and not get attached. Some demons are just straight up broken.
i think she would kill herself even in this ending route
she fucking dies a slow death
yeah that's called life genius
Maellejunkies literally seething, kvetching, and shitting themselves with their copes.
What are the chances that Alicia hanged herself days after the Verso ending?
Seriously, everyone talks about how Verso's ending was the "good/happy" ending but whats to stop Alicia from just unaliving herself from the grief a couple days after the scene?
They're both wrong. Verso for killing a world and Maelle for unhealthy coping.
Get spoiled at the "twist"
People are mad about it
So they play a game titled "claire obscure" where people get "gommage"d (="erased") by the "paintress", where resources are "picto" and "chroma" and the world seamlessly pass entirely uncoherent environnment like someone just made them up there, with a fucking race of gimmicky paintbrush-heads, and they're surprised you're in a painting? By the end of the prologue it was already the most likely outcome.
Who cares about that?
When did Renoir and Aline start fucking again after leaving the portrait?
Days? Weeks? The same night?
I saved the best Q for last check this one and wreck your anus.
unaliving
fucking zoomers I swear to god man
an heroed* excuse
The scene is titled "A Lifetime to Love"
not "I killed myself 30 minutes after the memorial because I couldn't handle the real world"
Read nigga read.
The french literally made it bro. What part of the story is Chinese?
That's about Renoir and Aline though
versofags breaking down and malding again
It was funny when they were calling it sewerslide or s*cide or rape as r*pe because they couldn't figure out you could type that shit here without being banned for some reason, really outing them as tourists/feds.
how many outsourced contractors worked on the game? 10? 100?
Maellejunkies jonesing for another hit
The part where they got their money from to do the said game. Once you get funding from a chinese corpo you also get a CCP approved handler to make sure you don't do anything anti-ccp with that money in your company. Lead Writer is literally Chinese, LMAO.
Yeah its been maybe a few days at that point, she will get over it in time.
8 koreans made the combat animations.
Other than that only QA and various localization.
Koreans make the best animations apparently in the industry with motioncapping.
Looks like syphilis scars
alicia
can't talk
just moans and grunts
haha, I'm so glad [my more responsible brother] [destroyed] all my [imaginary] friends and everything I [trauma bonded with] just to be a [somewhat disabled] [person in the real world] with [one of my parents] that wishes I was dead
indeed suspicious
chicken nugget with parents that wish I was dead
renoir hugs her at the end bro did you skip the entire scene retard?
parents that wish I was dead
parent* and even then, Aline still helps her.
She's literally Renoir's favorite.
keep reading comments from randoms about how they lost interest after the big reveal
completely missing the point about escapism
10/10 game just for the entertainment of reading people discussing the ending. Hasn't been this feisty in ages
Nigger we all saw this before in the FFTA threads. How young are you?
snoozefest
best combat of any jrpg ever made
you enjoy your kinetic novel with a gaudy UI anon
Sandfall interractive isn't owned by Kepler you brainrot AI retard
They hired her 3 years before they even met Kepler at GDC 2022 you fucking retard.
I speedwatched on yt but from what I picked up resurrecting works, but not entirely??
It's a metaphor for getting a new dog, since Monoco was the family dog (Esquie being the toy)
the negative reviews on steam that are keeping the game below overwhelmingly positive are all from chinese maellebros:
"From the prologue through Act II, the story’s solid. Walking in the footsteps of the earlier expeditions, reading their logs—filled with despair, warnings, or hope—you feel the weight of 67 years of struggle. A doomed but glorious epic of defiance, paving the way for those who came after. Even though the final expedition fails, it still reads like a grand, tragic resistance.
But the high-dimensional worldbuilding plants a subtle landmine that inevitably goes off. Like Vilsault says: “Your family squabble ruins the world.”
When the writers use Mael and Vilsault to explore two philosophies of life, they clearly didn’t care about the ordinary people of Lumin. When players learn the disaster was caused by a feud between higher-dimensional creator gods, the whole expedition feels meaningless—Lumin’s fate was sealed. No hope. Just destruction.
Choose to spend your life loving—and nothing is preserved. From Expedition 0 to 33, not even the spirit of resistance survives, because the world itself vanishes. The people of Lumin never even learn they were just low-dimensional lifeforms. Those 67 years of waiting, separation, and dread? All for nothing.
Choose to spend your life creating—and your sister becomes the new god. Yes, people are revived. Life on Lumin becomes peaceful. But once her body inevitably fails, the painted world still faces erasure by their father. She might last decades, maybe a century—but that’s it. And don’t think she can walk out of the world she painted: she’s clinging to Vilsault, obsessively forcing him to play the piano. She’s not in a mental state to escape anything."
I agree with them.
reviews are 98% positive when you remove the chinkbots
why do people insist either verso or alicia had anything to do with all of lumiere's death
You'd think with all their wealth/magic they can at least cure her throat.
That's what they want you to think. Same thing with Verso's
bot thread
Kami 33 WARPED you, fatlusspic
>it's actually just two assholes who decide they know what is better for the other
That's the case for Verso's ending. Yes, Alicia's life outside sucks, but at least she has options like suicide or painting another canvas for escapism.
Alicia's ending is straight up torturing Verso, keeping him alive and forcing him to do shit against his will.
They're both selfish assholes, but Alicia is way worse.
Yeah yeah whatever. Play the piano piano man.
Maelle people are delusional
souless, just like the game.
This is a correct assessment. The whole struggle is pointless, nothing what you accomplish matters. They ruined the whole game because it must be le deep commentary on escapism
retard
Having fun… LE BAD
Being crippled retard with no outlet for your pain… LE GOOD
no outlet
nigga just paint another canvas
That's millennial writing for you. It's a very insecure generation.
Retard why are you talking about getting attached? The best personas in Persona all just stack buffs and swap between buffing and using nuke sills. Every game has this same issue
Extreme perspective shift and re-contextualisation in stories are the tightest shit.
I gotta say I would’ve preferred something simpler. Like the paintress was some witch harvesting humans for chroma/man/whatever and then you just sweep that hostile continent and feel powerful.
The expeditions narrative is just more interesting than the computer sim narrative.
Jesus fuck the side bosses in Act 3 are cancer.
Just use Stendhal on them.
The fuck is the mess exploding out of the character on the right? Anime man, not even once.
The ending was so weird
forcing Maelle to become a disfigured, half-blind mute against her will with a family that sucks and enemies that want her dead...is le good
genociding all of your friends and the people you've lived with for 16 years...is le good
Maelle not making the ultimate decision to move on but it being imposed on her...is le healing
love makes a family? Wrong! Blood does, even if your real family treats you like shit
The emotions you felt with the characters all the way? Doesn't matter bro, painted people have no souls and no capacity to love or feel. They have no say in if they get to exist or not. All those feelings were fake
Extreme perspective shift and re-contextualisation in stories are [...] shit.
100% agree. Should have been a comfy story about killing the paintress to avenge all the pointless deaths and secure a future for those that come after.
Verso is dead, he's not real.
Maelle ending was a cope for her inceldom future. Let her enjoy her life you nerds
Mental. Illness.
I feel the same, I was expecting the expedition premise to be more important, such as giving clues on how to progress or defeat bosses, instead it's just flavor text. I also hate how the previous expeditions basically figured out the whole world and went everywhere. One of the expedition even met the Paintress and went after the real Renoir. Also there's like millions of corpses scattered around, just how many were there? You're telling me contingents of tens of thousands of trained operatives that incorporate a wide variety of specialists in various fields couldn't colonize the continent?
Maelle will eventually get sick and start stumbling around in front of Gustave and Lune and they’ll tell her she must leave. Everyone forgets that the main group is there and they care for Maelle. They won’t let her kill herself. Why would they just ignore her experiencing the later stages of sickness, as she starts looking like the Paintress- no face and all cracked up? No she will have her fun, and then her painted friends will have an intervention. Verso will be there to say I told you so, if he’s not off sulking somewhere.
I don't trust chinks to interpret this emotional story
good morning
Well said.
Alicia doesn't even care about Gustave.
>love makes a family? Wrong! Blood does, even if your real family treats you like shit
true, and you know it
real family
You're telling me contingents of tens of thousands of trained operatives that incorporate a wide variety of specialists in various fields couldn't colonize the continent?
Clea, a miracle of the universe and the most perfect woman ever written, made sure they couldn't.
I don't dislike the twist, but I was expecting age to be one of the main themes of the game. The concept was really interesting to me, and I went in expecting the story be about aging and the passage of time, but in the end it turns out the age thing kinda doesnt really matter despite being such a big part of the initial worldbuilding
I just don't like how the combat becomes one shot your enemy before it one shots you.
I hated that she forgave Verso that easily. The game kept on bothering me with stuff like this all the way through.
I DONT UNDERSTAND! THE NARRATIVE ITS TO COMPLEX AND ARTISTIC! AHHH MY FEEBLE BRAIN CANT HANDLE SUCH AMAZING WRITING! HELP ME PAINTER MAN!
Writers > Painters
She can't really hate Verso no matter what he does, because he is her only link to her dead brother, plus she understands that his intentions weren't to hurt her.
Did anyone else play Grime? It felt like E33 borrowed some stuff from it. The Sirene area and its boss are pretty much Cenotaph City and The Final Performance. The theme of enduring through legacy and memories is in both games. Even the ending choices are the same, embracing the artificial reality or your true self. We know for a fact devs played indieshit like HK, and Grime has parry based combat, so they must be aware of it at least for research purposes.
I hope it's true, it'd be very thematically appropriate for a semi-obscure indie game to live as part of something much greater
Verso chose not to save Gustave. Totally did not want superior brother around
One of the recurring themes of the story was that that love makes a real family. Gustave isn't related to Maelle by blood but by love he fulfills the role of a father and brother. His proteges aren't related to him, but their love for him goes beyond blood ties. Maelle even mentions how she also considers Lune and Sciel to be her family, and they're certainly much more nurturing and attentive to her than her real family. It's so weird that the story tries to get you invested in saving this world and caring about its characters only to say that "ackchully dude, fuck it! This world doesn't matter and those characters don't get to have a say in if they exist"
nothing what you accomplished matters
You helped two people who can't move on move on.
I figured out the world was fake mid act 2. Why didn't Lune? She's supposed to be smart.
her real family
Verso's keeping her distracted. Gustave would have figured it out which is why Verso let him die.
Escapism or face reality
Asking this question in a videogame
It was not even an option for me.
Real doesn't necessarily mean better. Real Maelle is disfigured, half-blind, unable to speak and I'm pretty sure it hurts for her to breath. Painted Maelle is healthy, able to speak, nigh omnipotent, not in constant pain, and has actual autonomy
Proof that Maelle is gone then, Alicia was the dominant personality.
Seems like he's just upset that lumiere didn't get a happier ending. Not sure that warrants a negative review.
You chose reality right
Anon Babble hates themselves so much that they can't understand Verso as a character lol lmao
Maelle dies at the end of act 2
for me it's the complete opposite
the expedition stuff is whatever fantasy trite, but the inception soma family drama is fucking great
Autists lack the theory of mind necessary to distinguish Verso's desires from their own.
I wouldn't have a problem with maelle spending the rest of her life in there if Renoir consented and it weren't contingent on torturing verso
Good. I hope we get more turn-based games that offer some sort of variation. Instead of UE5 action slop #2092092
TURN-BASED RENNAISANCE
Oh no I got my face burned
Guess I have to kill myself now
Zoomers are weaklings.
hey, I can be reductive too!
torturing people is... le good
those guys live in an islamic country now so i wouldnt follow whatever they did
A half-century of sacrifices in the hope that the information gathered might help someone decades later is a fantastic premise.
is right that they didn't do nearly enough with that part. All we get are the infrastructure they left that only one of the journals I've found, the one near the painted renoir fight, actually acknowledges that these people know they're laying down their own lives for the chance that some later expedition might finish the job.
people
kek
sums up verso fags
maelle deserved better and no one even acknowledges it
one guy vs an entire world of people consigned to oblivion
He's just that good. The lumina converter made them into demi-gods.
you'll find that the chinese will often turn on a game if it does anything to piss them off at all. whereas the west are much more likely to recommend something in spite of its flaws.
dude casually invented a tool to harness the power of gods
i like how they work it into the game. you'd be so fucked if you couldn't use lumina / extra pictos.
or, well, you could succeed, but it'd be about as hard as it was for the other expeditioners.
They aren't torturing Verso. Or it's a fucking plot hole because when you talk to the boy (so the real Verso) in the Flying Manor he tells you he loves painting and that everything he paints is just as important as the real thing
Gustave would have found a way to leave the painting.
Aline has really shit worldbuilding, why did she put super scientists into her early 20th century paris setting, how does that add to her family larp
Doesn't Verso say he's tired of painting in the lead up to Alicia vs Verso? Kid nods his head when asked if he's tired.
Yeah that's why I suspect it's a plot hole. The kid in the manor literally says he loves painting and that everything there matters just as much as the real thing.
I don't remember exactly when he says it but it must be after you kill one of the bosses
She was a sci-fi fag
I think they're the same and that what he says is consistent. You can love your craft and still be exhausted by it, ESPECIALLY if it's being meddled with by family members having a pissing contest. If I remember correctly, the choice to side with either Alicia or Verso comes after the kid tries to take Verso's hand and Alicia nearly fucking chops it off. He loves his paintings, believes in them having souls, and could do it all day...
dad, mom and both your sisters start pissing vomiting and shitting all over your canvas
But damn I'd be tired too, Alicia, you bitch
We love Verso here.
We hate Gustave here.
What about the nevrons?
when is the expedition 60 dlc?
When the world was revealed to be all a simulation is where the game fell off.
Alicia is stupid, gullible, naive, incompetent, mute, an aspiring wrigger, deformed, inferior to painted alicia, the reason for her brother's death, in all ways inferior to Clea, spineless, and generally lacking in moral character.
Why do people like her again? Is it just goodwill directed at the girl whose body she stole?
the only ones to beat the climbing challenge before you
turned down the reward because it's clothing
Based
You didn't have any suspicions at all until it was finally revealed?
wearing clothing
They must be the members who didn't make the cut.
easy to say when that person isn't you. the world will only last for a few more decades anyway.
Yeah but then Maelle's ending wouldn't be a bad one. For the child Verso, erasing the canvas would be tantamount to killing real people with their own culture and shit.
But honestly the dilemma is kinda hamfisted for the sake of whatever escapism-related message they wanted to tell because they centered the final conflict on Verso vs Alicia without giving a voice to Lune or Sciel who could've made compelling points when it comes to preserving the canvas for different reasons
honestly it becomes clear pretty early that it's one of those maybe-trauma stories
they've used and reused their assets well but recurring objects and themes go hand in hand with psychological shit
I was expecting time travel.
If he wasnt a year from death regardless he would of 100% found a way to escape the painting and kill the Painters IRL. Weak beta male Verso feared the Chad Gustave.
What killed him after he raised Monoco?
Why does painted Renoir kill the expeditioners, and specifically Gustave instead of just explaining Aline isn't their enemy?
He even says "this is a kindness, not a cruelty" to Maelle after killing Gustave, assuming meaning essentially that "Aline is your mother and wants to preserve the painting and soon you will see the expeditions were against the wrong target" but how the hell does killing her best friend help convert her to your goals? It's just going to make her more impassioned against you.
Also Verso says "she will never paint again" which Painted Renoir should clearly interpret as "I am against you and want to destroy the Paintress", but yet he has no reaction whatsoever to that
It just seems like the dialogue is intentionally underhanded and mysterious just to disguise the plot twist from the player instead of actually matching the character's real motivations and reactions
they tried explaining it to previous expeditions and they didnt trust them, then turned on them. but the real reason is that it would have been a very short game
He probably just sees them as objects not worthy of an explanation. Perhaps he's become somewhat desensitised over time.
I assume it's just jealousy that "we're your real family, this guy isn't" but seems rather flimsy at best, if anything she would want to save the painted world because gustave is there
He didn't want to risk awakening Maelle/Alicia. He had no idea which side of the conflict she would pick.
Verso kicked her out
Both her parents love her
Renoir is the good guy
If she gets her way she traps real Verso's miserable soul to be her entertainment puppet for eternity.
The endings, for anyone wondering, can be summed as follows:
I like escapism...but it's le bad? (Maelle)
touch grass (Verso)
Except he goes on long monologues and waxes poetic about how she will eventually understand, instead of actually, you know, dropping the slightest bit of hint that she is his family (well not exactly since they're painted, but sorta) or that the paintress is not the real enemy
Yeah if Renoir were ok with watching his wife and daughter die and painted verso was happy to keep playing fake brother forever everything would be fine.
implying any of you fags spending your evening on Anon Babble would choose real life over a faux world where you could be a god and loved by everyone
torturing one npc is a small price to pay
Expeditioners are no different than nevrons to them, literal npc who gives a fuck
That doesn't happen until Aline dies though
Painted Renoir kills expeditioners so the chroma goes back to into circulation instead of being locked up if killed by Nevron. also Painted renoir is just like Verso in that he had his world shattered by being made aware he is a copy but focuses his grieving differently than Verso. Remember when Renoir and Verso set out for expedition 0 they were going out to reduce aline only to end with them meeting clea and their world shattering
Also Verso says "she will never paint again" which Painted Renoir should clearly interpret as "I am against you and want to destroy the Paintress", but yet he has no reaction whatsoever to that
Because he knew? It's not exactly new information, considering they already had a fight because of it.
I suppose he just couldn't be bothered then? Painted Renoir doesn't especially like Maelle and if Verso hadn't intervened everything would have been fine.
literally who studio makes game
its a hit
china just so happens to benefit financially
You'll see a lot more of this happening in the next few years.
They probably have chinks sprinkled all over the place applying for jobs at studios in the hopes of seeing a return. For all we know she pushed them into taking the ccp money.
Espionage takes years of planning for a big payday like this, but you already know that, don't you Chang?
Rescue Aline*
Not at all, Painted Renoir cares about his family including Maelle, he also wants Maelle on his side. So neither of those points make sense with his wanton killing of Gustave.
Also he waxes poetic constantly trying to justify his actions and that it will all make sense in the end, when in reality killing Gustave, angering Maelle, and making zero effort to explain even the basics of the situation is totally counter to his goals
america makes games gay
chinks make games that aren't gay
chinks benefit
crazy, who could have predicted this
Aline not only tortured regular Renoir but painted Renoir too
what did he see in that bitch
Who cares? Why would you not want more of a good thing, it is natural that good ideas should prevail and propagate.
I mean a tiny bit of chroma vs. making an enemy of a member of your family with immense power to destroy the paintress
Seems like a pretty shitty trade, especially when you make zero effort to explain anything to her. Even regardless of the family shit, she loves Gustave and wouldn't want to destroy Aline if it meant losing Gustave
He put a baby in her when they had a 17 year old, the pussy game insane
I agree, they're benefiting from the mistakes of their enemies. I'm not even saying it's a bad thing since ultimately we end up with more non-pozzed media
Implied she saved Renoir when he was younger. If they ever made a DLC it should be about how Aline saved Renoir saved from a canvas to continue the theme of the family being a bunch of hypocrites
Probably a Stalact
people dying at 33
starting apprenticeships at 6
not lowering the age of consent
this was the most unbelievable part
I'd feel bad knowing that my dad's going to destroy my world if I don't come out of the panting
Alicia/Maelle is not his family she is a giant billboard to the fact that his family is an imitation.
Your mom scribbled hundreds of niggers in the part of the painting where you live
He probably hates Alicia just as much as Aline does since he's her creation.
they're french, they just assumed you didn't need that mentioned to know it
Aline helps her because she doesn't want verso canvad erased, she does not give a shit to the daughter that got her beloved Verso killed
I wouldn't risk the life of my mother just so I can play P5 a bit more.
True. Maelle shouldnt of even been able to go. She'd be on at least her third pregnancy by her age.
Renoir and Clea both made clear point Aline will never fully recover, Maelle will just die
Could give insight into Maelle’s end, would be cool
Alicia is a shit paintress, she is more into writing
Renoir and Clea both made clear point Aline will never fully recover
Did they? Clea says they’ve both spent more time in paintings than this before
Writersisters, we won
without giving a voice to Lune or Sciel who could've made compelling points when it comes to preserving the canvas for different reasons
That wouldn't have mattered. Verso already made up his mind. If he was willing to kill off Esquie and Monoco then nothing Lune or Sciel could have said would make a difference
The Chinese are a pathetic people.
that was in monolith year 49, 16 years earlier
I doubt the "Writers" wanted Alicia in particular dead.
It's more of a rival family having a problem with the Dessendre Family, just nobility power struggles
During Gustave's funeral, Maelle comments on him being her brother, then it cuts to Verso making an angsty smirk and turn.
Why?
Verso is a huge prick even though I picked his ending. He just wants to fucking die no matter what
I'll miss you guys
Christ, what an ending. The three amigos were the best.
He still considers Maelle his family from the dialogue after Gustave's death. Verso even has to remind him that she is not actually *his* (renoir's) family, and that painted Alicia is instead.
probably because he thinks of himself as her real brother and he let gustave die on purpose
He wants what's best for his family.
And that's kicking them out of the painting and forcing them to move on instead of escape into fantasyland.
What he wanted was for Alicia to fuck off from the continent and go home. He knew he wouldn't be able to beat her when she awakens. And if Verso doesn't show up to bail out the expedition (and also give them the lumina converter) they probably do fail or have to give up
I would assume they passed laws so that any girl once puberty hits has to reproduce
Like having a dedicated event where kids who just hit puberty gather and have an orgy for the sake of breeding
friends
they weren't real
Oh I see what you're saying, he means the mercy is the expedition failing and just letting the paintress be. I guess that interpretation makes sense.
Still though, Maelle is clearly very strong and he of all people should know that, why not redirect her towards what should be her actual enemy?
Gustave would've been able to save both the canvas and Alicia.
maelle got gangbanged by multiple random shotas
Very french
he couldn't even save himself
his invention is the only reason the party could succeed to begin with
Paintards FEAR the engineerGOD
who gives a fuck about sciel
literally pointless character
and least lune did shit
the only reason
lmao
That's why you are still in your mother basement. You live in your fantasies.
In real life you move on and accept.
Verso couldn't beat Dualiste bruh
Expedition 70 got inside the monolith too
Actually HOW THE FUCK they got in
And?
Taught him everything about painting and saved him when he was absorbed in one like how she and maelle are now
the game definitely implies that Verso has some kind of brotherly affection to Maelle even though he's a painted version of Verso
They don't have the raw power to fight anyone without the Lumina Converter
Even though they know they are gonna be erased from existence, they still go to give their bro a hug one last time
that shit got me emotional
Based Renoir
This game is a celebration of male rationality.
the story is tragic, therefore it's a bad game
What's wrong with them? Seriously any time I hear about a game getting reviewbombed for the dumbest reasons it's always chinks.
damn being in the canvas so long really fucked aline up
ruined the whole game
That was the story since the beginning though, or did you think the world being made of gravity defying floating islands and invincible paintbrush retards was based in a world that made sense
You're waiting for a train. A train that will take you far away.
What the frig?!
retard
men of the family are reasonable, rational thinkers that understand the need for moderation and self-control

Clea is just a psycho bitch
t. simon
Verso's last words in the Maelle ending
"I don't want to live like this."
Maelle's last words in the Verso ending
"Don't leave me again."
sounds like Verso is more self-centered here
This story is about family and responsibility, not about a slave world and the master world.
And even if you're a retard who believes that it's about the latter, we can all agree that Aline is the main antagonist of the story.
they both are and the only one who was right was daddy
She calls him brother. But he isn't. He's painted Verso. He knows that her desire to stay here is based on a lie. She sees what isn't there because she can't emotionally let go.
It's tough love but Verso was right.
That's why the writing isn't anything special
Some characters feel like bloat despite their significant screentime
Amateurish
lmao
The nerds maybe. Expedition 60 was more successful and didn't require the help of immortals and literal gods to get to the paintress.
VERSONA
fucks girls
kills them
He’s written by a woman wants not to understand
Amateurish
t. some random on Anon Babble who hasn't written shit
I wish simon wasn't some super soldier made by Clea for expedition 0.
I wish he was just a guy from Expedition 69 who is an inexplicably amazing fighter and didn't get gommaged by living in the void.
why don't they give her an eyepatch or some shit
I mean, when you think about it rationally, there's no good or bad ending, but the game clearly portrays one ending as good and the other as bad. That's precisely my problem.
In one hand you have a grim black and white ending, with disturbing imagery and ominous music.
On the other hand, you have a scene set in warm colors, where a family is smiling, healing and embracing each other in slow mo accompanied by soft, melancholic yet hopeful music.
And instead of being held accountable for the genocide they just committed over their petty personal struggles, the dead characters show up smiling and waving as they fade away like saying: 'That was a good adventure. Go have your next one.'
It is nonsensical for me.
Made for BIG WRITER COCK
verso's ending is very obviously the good one
They were glorified toys and she finally stopped treating them like they were real people.
so cowardly you can't accept you erase real people with souls and ambitions that you have to fall back on the Sims excuse
we really should separate Renoirchads from Verso/Cleacucks
they're not real
lune staring at the screen in cold fury hit me hard enough. But I wish the people of lumiere didn't get sidelined so hard in the third act
I really didn't care about Gustave and almost immediately forgot about him as soon as the sob story interlude finished.
did they seriously just rip off star ocean 3 and/or the matrix?
I just found it funny. She's incapable of looking threatening.
both real renoir and verso's soul sure think of them as real, the only one who doesn't give a flying fuck about the people in the painting is clea and she's a psychotic evil bitch and she's so fucking hot
Lune doesn't. She glares at Verso and then sits down in rage and disgust.
Though I do kind of agree that some anger from Monaco or Esquie over being erased might have also made it more gray.
It's hard to tell whether Alicia is really accepting over Verso's death at the ending too. Just because she has flowers next to his grave doesn't mean she's moved on. Her life still looks to be a hard one. She knows her mother doesn't think much of her, nor Clea. Based Renoir does though.
is that why Renoir massacred so many expeditioners and kills gustave
I don't think she was trying to, it's more like
you lying piece of shit you betrayed me, fucked me and then betrayed me AGAIN
like she wanted verso to look at her and face the fact that he couldn't have been a worse piece of shit towards her if he tried
he doesn't try to bullshit himself into thinking painting people are not real or sentient to make himself feel better like the cowardly faggots ITT
He knows that the soul of real verso is tired and just wants to rest in peace.
He is the only one that seems to care about real Verso. Everyone else is fighting for selfish reasons
real renoir
real
Aha!
soul Verso is ambivalent. He could be swayed either way.
No he did that because he valued his family more.
Real Renoir feels pity for them, which is why he apologizes to Verso, but ultimately they're fictional people and destroying a billion of them to bring his family back to the real world is a no-brainer.
that's painted renoir, the real one straight up shows compassion and understanding towards painted verso, lune and sciel. He's aware he's basically committing genocide and that to these people he's a monster but he's willing to take that burden upon himself to do what's best for his familly. He's based as fuck and it's surprising to see a man like that represented in media in 2000 + 25
That's fake Renoir
Agreed. Siding with Verso but then trying to worm your way out of the fact that you are killing sapients en masse is just being a pussy. Renoir is the only one who knows and understands exactly how heavy a price is being paid to pursue the least bad option.
when you think about it rationally, there's no good or bad ending
According to who? Verso's is about letting go and moving on for those who are still here.
Maelle's is about indulgence and escapism. You could argue that she's saving the survivors but that's not just it, she brings them all back and forces verso to play for her despite him begging her to kill him. She's just playing god like her mother and it's literally killing them.
Even if you say "uhm akshually both sides are good and bad, it's all in the middle" then Maelle getting all fucked up by the paint and Verso being miserable is the actual, honest consequence of her having her way. Did you think there would be any other way? It's literally the whole reason Renoir is there, and thus the events of the game.
Head canon. What was the game trying to tell you with the friendly Nevrons? And the chroma well?
Verso always hated painting because he was forced to do it when he loved music. His soul was done with that shit a long time ago.
Verso wants everyone else to move on except him. He wants to fucking die despite how Monoco says it's okay if he keeps going.
What are the differences between Maelle and awakened Alicia?
Head canon
Fucking how.
He literally apologizes to Verso for everything that was ultimately just Aline's fault.
that one track with a solo male singer doing spoken word
Fuck, I thought it was developer log or something
Versofags love to ignore him telling Maelle to go live in another painting
but ultimately they’re fictional people
we were robbed
He's telling her that she'll never have to just cope with a useless body because she can always stretch her legs in other canvasses, dumbass.
Expedition 60 went through the barrier caveman style.
And Verso is an unreliable narrator and a liar so there's a possibility of him omitting another mean.
Soul Verso is tired and just wants to rest.
It was most important to Verso that Alicia not end up like Aline, and knew that he had to tough love her to make it happen
He’s encouraging escapism to someone at risk of getting addicted to escapism again so he can die
The one playing in White Sands? It sounds exactly like this track from Fata Morgana, wonder if that's a reference.
youtube.com
I don't need to write shit to notice this, I only need to read better stories
Yeah I think that was the name of the area
He's encouraging healthy coping mechanisms.
BIG PIERRE COCK
Just beat Simon the elden ring reject by one shotting with Maelle, that was kinda cool actually.
Besides him and Clea, any other post-game bosses worth doing? Feels kinda pointless to go through the whole endless tower and I've seen most of the smaller areas.
They probably just swam under it.
Lmao delusional he doesn’t give a fuck about Maelle
Anyone who just nukes Simon is a nigger who didn't actually fight him.
He reeks too much of ER and DS1 to be memorable, his relation with Clea is an obvious reference to Radahn's with Miquella but in a way that's so obvious it detracts from Simon himself
The fight is good but he isn't memorable because he lacks aura and identity
They're totally real people, bros!
I nuked him with Verso I deserve the victory
Are you.... Verso?
based.

These kikes are everywhere
You didn't beat Simon until you perfect parry light speed attack
I don't want to learn the autistic parry patterns of a boss who one shots you with every move, first phase is ok 2nd phase just seemed annoying. Sorry I'm not up to your gamer standards anon but cheesing ridiculous bosses can be fun too, did the same with Malenia in ER after like an hour of normal attempts.
Yeah it's hard to take him seriously as a character when his whole aesthetic is so clearly a reference but it is a really cool moment when you see the axon with her head impaled in Old Lumiere and make the connection later.
Also the triple sword in the final 40% of his hp bar
sapients
where's the proof they are? i keep hearing retards make this claim but there's literally 0 proof they're sentient as opposed to mimicking sentience similar to how AI works. how do we know they aren't creations of the painter with no free will/sentience?
good morning sirs i just finish the game
who won and who got btfo?
How fucking hard would it have been for Aline to take a few breaks from the canvas to drink some Gatorade?
He was good for a literally who boss
It's disappointing when It's guys like Radagon who are built up and are kind of a big deal end up being lame mutes
She had a soul
Verso’s soul
Only Clea won.
maellechads
versofags
Verso you have to LIVE
I want to lick her face.
Why does verso sexo his tulpas?
Be honest anon, if you had a perfect VR game world you'd probably stay there all the time if you could too. Any return to reality is a reminder that you're living a lie.
Versogods
Maellejunkies
Who's simon? I skipped a lot of the side content because I just wanted to beat the game and not fuck around wasting time
Renoir
Just as hard as getting off Mafia 3 to go to the bathroom
how hard would it be for crackhead to take a break and drink some Gatorade?
He is my friend
Fromsoft reference
You don't understand, the ending a guy's soul is forced to dance for his selfish sister until her death by overdose is the good ending, I assure you
Zanzibart's old friend.
IS THAT A LONG-LEGGED FAT-ASSED HAPA TO FUCK FOR DECADES AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA I DON'T WANT THIS LIFE I DON'T WANT THIS LIFE
fucking absurd
Then you missed some of the coolest stuff in the game
Third phase attacks were unironically easier to parry for me, the rhythm feels better when windups are faster
It kinda messes with you a bit when you die and go back to second phase attacks though
paint a canvas full of furry girls and girl monsters
pardon....je suis venu....
The writers
The painters
they bodyscanned the head writer for this
A good question, for another time
Verso's ending was good. The painting was not real, they were not real people. The ending doesn't even care about that, it's simply the
What axon was felled in old lumiere
Not if the tortured soul of my dead brother was stuck in it while my dad shouted "GO TO THE BATHROOM! YOU ARE SHITTING YOURSELF. YOU ARE **SHIT*** **TING*** YOURSELF" at my mom all day.
Simon destroyed Clea's because she was offended by it.
Lumiere watching the Monolith during the Gommage
*muffled in the distance* ALINE! YOU ARE SHIT-TING YOURSELF!
The Hauler, Clea carrying whole family on her back
Anon Babble fat fucks: "lol get over it Verso who cares if you live forever"
also Anon Babble fat fucks when asked to get a job for 50 years, not forever "NOOOO ACK ACK ACK ACK"
So what the fuck is their problem?
he doesn't want to live in a canvas
Why did Renoir create the axons?
dad found the hidden foxgirl harem painting again
Tabarnak...
Elden Ring character
he's just hungry bro
They were imported from other paintings.
the last chapter has nothing to do with the universe but someone using fiction as escapism
You frogs think you're so smart with this shit....
This board is not real
This game has a BG3 act 3 problem. The story climax is over, 90% of the content is optional, the party gets OP so the battles are meaningless. Except BG3 wasn't COMPLETELY broken, you could still see get smacked even if running an OP setup, and even on normal, whereas E33 entirely undermines its action elements by giving you Disgaea tier broken RPG mechanics to delete everything in 2 turns. Like, at this point, why did they even bother animating all those enemy and boss attacks? You don't get to see them. Awful balancing. Feels like the game was designed with you bumrushing the story bosses while running literally past everything else and never picking any picto over level 15, or upgrading your weapons past level 20 (out of 33!).
But oh well, still the best game this year so far. But I'm very conflicted. Once the hype dies down, I'm sure others will feel the same.
haha who would want that?
I just want to hear everyone’s headcanon about the writer/painter rivalry at this point? Are they just Hatfields and McCoys? Are the painters putting writers out of business? Two opposing political factions? Did a writer kid get hooked on a painting like Maelle?
He's just a pretentious fag who wanted to created abstract metaphorical representations of his family.
What happens if you're bad at painting?
Then you reincarnate inside the painting instead of just going inside it.
Your nevrons end up looking like this
Act 1 and 2
Pure kino on the edge of my seat
Act 3
montage of the "greatest expedition ever" followed by an expedition zombie army that neither Lune nor Sciel seem to be reasonably fucking weirded out by
Storm the final area like a Marvel movie
Act 3 kind of sucked. Ending saved it, but the tone shift was so jarring and rushed.
Now that the dust has settled, how do I REALLY feel about Sciel?
>Act 1 and 2
>Pure kino on the edge of my seat
he didn't lose hope at the end of Act 1
create foxgirl harem canvas world
dive in one day for a quick 3-4 year sex session
find Papa inside
Unironically, what would you do?
Verso would've wanted a new beginning for you too, says Monoco
this just gets fucking forgotten
Prettier than Lune
Not a cunt like Lune
Bigger ass than Lune
Sexier voice than Lune
You think she has a fantastic dumptruck ass and you're glad you did that dogshit volleyball game just for that.
feet are softer and tastier than lune
I'm not going to listen to a stupid dog
you're a better painter than your papa
overwrite his chroma
turn him into a foxgirl
get fucking gommaged Monoco
This doesn't get you your imaginary updoots with non-Shittendo games, tendie.
when they finally plant the expedition flag
That was kino, I was wondering for hours when they'd finally let you do that
I was honestly sad they never had a "Expedition 33! AVANT!!!!" storming the beaches moment
an entire game made purely out of some asian chick's lust for whites
The coolest boss fight in the game.
gee Lune, how come you get two hot Occitan men?
Why Aline even stay in the canvas when her painted Verso wants nothing to do with her?
Sciel
French Bob
Lune
Braid
maelle
Sciel's haircut, Alicia's dress
Gustave
Short
Yeah I think I'm gonna stick to JRPGs
be Clea
parents stuck in painting for years
have to feed them and wipe their asses to keep them alive
sister is disabled too
Clea had a hard life
They weren't there for literal years IRL probably just months due to the difference in time.
Why no Alicia Axon?
Easiest the prettiest girl in the game with Rebel haircut
Anon...
anon, your Reacher?
We need the golden ending so bad bros
Clea will save us, right?
Clea fucken hates us, bro.
anon Clea's paintings are probably so fucked they make 40k look happy
We can finally bury this meme and all the pleasure cube fags with it
she'll probably kill herself anyway
I feel like the Verso ending having her family disappear with Gustave beckoning to her is implying she's going to go down the route of Aline with a fake Gustave.
T-that's not true
it's not even about the pleasure cube, it's about deleting everyone from Lumiere out of existence because the powers that be are bored and think it would be convenient
"sapient" is a made-up concept that doesn't actually mean anything. human beings are a specific category and painted people, or androids or whatever the fuck else, are not human beings.
+ also this is why Nier Automata isnt half as smart as it thinks it is.
I don't know if it's as much about Lumiere getting a happy ending, as that they get completely sidelined in the ending. It's just all family drama stuff, no one even mentions them. And then Verso jumps into whatever special space Lune/Sciel can't come into so they can't be part of the ending until after the point of no return.
you know what would be a kino epilogue?
If at the end, Alicia was drinking a coffee in a french cafe and then a young 16 year old Gustav sits on the same table and smiles at her
I can't even begin to imagine how much it must hurt for her. But, it was for the best.
I realize we probably never hear again about these characters, but I'd really like to know how she carried on.
Bravo Nolan
nooooo they copied my 4NIAR combat with dumb extras!!!
sequel focused on the writers
Alicia is a party member
And then we find out he's a fake Gustave because she's trapped in the writings of a Writer. Who turns out to be a Chad who falls in love with her in his own writing.
Verso already died in the real world to save alicia, not he has to live with some shitty disfunctional family instead of just going into oblivion and getting some peace cuz they cant let him go
This anon gets it. Its very obvious the Verso ending is supposed to be the "good" ending. So why even give the choice of having a second ending if they're gonna do Maelle dirty like that?
Don't think they'll touch the family again, maybe just a few mentions, letters, etc.
An unhinged Maelle surrounding herself with infinite painted Gustaves.
A Lumiere full of them.
I feel like you're ignoring the dissonant and ominous parts of the Verso ending (or your just missed them).
Both endings are bad IMO.
some enterprising fanfiction writer agreed with you, it's nice
Why the Eiffel Tower?
I don't understand the point of playing a game where both endings suck.
you got an A3 link fampai?
for research purposes
only if it's good though
Either its a remnant of the Ubisoft poison lingering in the head devs bloodstream or its a portly done hammering home of the point by punishing players who make the wrong choice.
A crippled one armed Gustav is unironically a good partner for a burned cyclops mute Alicia
They don't suck. They just aren't purely good and people that you will care about lose everything in both endings. Verso's seems more hopeful in the long run though.
Alicia doesn't give a shit about Gustave
What were those? Line was understandably angry, but Sciel said goodbye to Verso, as did Monoco and Esquiel, and little Verso got to stop painting. Father and mother are hugging, the family is healing, and the painted people wave goodbye to Maelle in farewell. The ending is literally called a Life to Love. Can't really get better than that.
She has to fight off Renoir so she can make things right with her family
she's fucking in-love with him though.
Not in a family sense, in a creepy french Leon The Professional sense.
Maelle is actually the good ending. She heroically saves the world at the cost of her life. Weird the game portrays it as a bad thing though.
Glad I wasn't the only one who noticed the tension in the prologue.
Name one (1) cool nevron
Clair Obscur
So Renoir is Old One tier villain right?
Duelist.
Chromatic Aberration
What other game lets you fucking kill the hideous thing?
I for one am a fan of the danseures
you can't just decide to live in a fantasy magical world (if possible) because escapism is le bad
Why? Why does this make normalfags froth at their mouth in violent rage?
NOOOOOOO STOP MAKING ME PLAY THE PIANO I NEED TO KILL MYSELF!!!!
Was he right?
cant decide between brueler and crueler
boing boing
She's squatting in somebody else's world
Grosse Tete is literally me
The scooby doo diver
The sackfaces with the hammers
Création
Big Head
Shes not even escaping anything because magical worlds are completely normal in their universe.
Hate these fat niggas like you wouldn't believe
he bought in his creations from other paintings to fight his wife, who is stronger than he
Reminds them that they have 50 years left in the cagie with zero escape.
Ok that actually makes sense now thanks anon
Lose hope
I gained resolve to avenge Gustave, and after initial misgivings, Verso and his based retard in crime Monoco and their dog Esquie turned out to be the best shit ever. The Kingdom Hearts 2-level schizo ramblings of teleporting weirdos in all black was secondary to the trio of affable retards.
Verso and Monoco arguing about manly haircuts
Best duo, bar none.
Because a core component of being human in both accepting and enduring what society throws at you for the sake of the continued prosperity of the species.
You can still ascend to a greater individualist place within that world, but it needs to be done through cunning and force of will while engaging with humanity not in rejecting humanity.
To NEET out is to debase yourself and make a mockery of the human spirit.
I'd play a whole game series of those 3 traveling through different paintings tbqh
Axons have enough chroma to pierce the barrier
one is just dancing
one is being a weirdo
one is just hanging out with Alicia
You sure?
i basically look at it like two families on olympus that both control some aspect of reality in a shared cosmic space. the writers are snarky fucks who want to "remind" the painters--who never cease to let everyone know how great their work is because of its physical beauty--that story and writing is richer because it creates drama, conflict, tragedy, love, etc. so the writers are sticking it to the painters. then theres probably some Watchmakers or something like that who control time and are probably slightly controlling everyone in some subtle unglorious way. i enjoyed the story for its obvious gnostic elements
The first time Alice "talked" and made that moan kind of broke my heart.
game doesn't say it outright; it shows you Clea's sculptures of the Nevrons in the Canvas and IRL too, and the Axiom paintings are hanging on the wall in the Chapter 2 loredump room
Alicia just needs a good dicking from a nice writer boy.
I skipped this fuck. boss + clair + obscur. couldnt handle the altnerating purple/white sword parries
They do suck.
Genocide all the people of Lumiare
or
Torture Verso's soul until Alicia inevitably dies
So yeah, these are bad endings. Bad endings suck and have no value except as failure states you can avoid.
They're bucket crabs. The idea that you could escape from the misery they're in but they can't makes them violently envious.
Maellefags are fucking mentally ill
prosperity of the species
where, I just see an increasing amount of people on anti-depressants
What's that you're putting in your Canvas, anon?
anon goes full schizo because he can't imagine people actually liking a new video game
Yikes
Love
lmao just paint something else nigga kek
No dude the miserable permanently crippled mute burn victim would never kill herself, that doesn't happen ever
bad ends are always more interesting
Bad endings aren't interesting, they're miserable. They make you feel like you wasted your time.
>Genocide all the people of Lumiare
Humanity is already dead, Renoir killed them.
Nevrons and Gestrals aren't people.
I locked myself out of the Lune romance by talking to Sciel first. I kept thinking it was unusual how the self-insert didn't romance Verso, like how all the other female, asian, self-inserts would.
Genocide all the people of Lumiare
Were already all dead except Lune and Sciel. You could bring everyone back as an omnipotent god yes, but at that point does their existence even really have meaning if a god will just cater to their every whim? It's a sad existence, the moment the cat was out of the bag that world was fucked.
If there is a "god" who created our world I imagine they strictly don't interfere for similar reasons.
still trying to push his stupid narrative that makes the Verso ending 'la bad~' because the ending he didn't like is objectively the better one where she's clearly making peace with everything and moving on
Like I said, mentally ill.
Torture Verso's soul until Alicia inevitably dies
He's a faggot and he deserves it, good ending
wtf what did i do wrong why did i get a bad ending
Ahh, reminds me of Shadowrun Dragonfall, good times
Non-humans can indeed be people.
Does their existence even really have meaning?
Meaning is personal, not dictated. Whether they'd be happy living is up to them, not some philosopher jerking off over it.
the dragons deserved it
I’m sorry you feel that way
she's clearly making peace with everything and moving on
Where?
The issue is that the game views
Genocide all the people of Lumiare
As something which is a necessary sacrifice but for the best, because its clear that by the end of the game the only thing they cared about was the painting family conflict.
Like look at the Act 3 extra content
Nothing for Sciel
Lune its a single fight in a single room
Simon gets an epic superboss journey
Meanwhile
Alicia Gets a whole special dungeon
Painted Clea get her own dungeon and fight
The entire main plot of the game from the middle of act 2 onwards.
The only time I felt like that was enderal that shit was awful and felt grimdark for the sake of it while removing player agency in an RPG. For the most part though bad endings are the kinoest.
Nice factory worker mentality
Anyone who uses the term 'kino' doesn't have a brain.
Alicia (Maelle) is clinging to a fake world while never letting her dead brother's soul rest in peace and causing immense grief to her parents.
She is being incredibly selfish, Renoir was right all along, trying to save his wife and then his daughter from being trapped to Verso until they die. Our Verso is a perfect copy of the original Verso and he himself would rather have they all get over him and move on. His fractured soul is like a slave, painting forever unable to ever rest, just for his mother and sister because he loves them so much.
Would you kill all your friends (assume you have them) OR force one faggot to play the piano, Anon Babble?
Sometimes there's satisfaction to be found in doing things you believe in, even if it results in a bad ending
I-I prefer happy endings!
Is there any Gestral stuff besides Monoco’s quest for me to find? Any other Grandis besides the carousel?
The perspective naturally shifts more toward the painters and away from the expeditioners as Alicia regains her memories and Verso opens up about a lot more, it's a natural progression and it's an interesting way to let you see their perspective while you've already experienced how shitty life is for the normal people in this world.
Choose Verso ending first
Sad but beautiful and bittersweet
Can sympathize with Alicia, figure her ending has its own ups and downs too given how many anons defend her
Get her ending today
Psychotically evil woman torturing a man by forcing him to open his hands and play piano while mingling with a bunch of zombies
Nah. Alicia is 100% the evil fucking ending in this game. Holy shit was that grim.
She is being incredibly selfish
I can't blame the broken useless cripple for not wanting to live as a broke useless cripple, is the thing. It's not just 'letting go' of Verso, it's letting go of ever being happy, you know, doing anything but sitting in a chair and making strange noises.
You get overchromaed and become part of the painting and need someone else to pull you out
Apologize to the german language.
Seriously though enderal's main story writing sucked ass if you're someone who liked it you're the one missing grey matter.
someone had to time travel/dimension travel to get a good ending
Umineko was NOT a happy ending IMG_fag
keep the painted world going
maelle uses up her magic
dies
painted world dies too
both endings seem bleak
December 33
Alicia left alone at the grave
Gustave beckoning to Alicia instead of waving goodbye
Also replaying Act 1 and understanding what the fate of Lumiere is in that ending makes it a LOT darker.
Not really, there's no satisfaction then, only a sense of failure.
The people your arguing with don't care they only care about "the people of the painting" which they spend like an hour max with (in actuality most of them just waifufag over Lune but know its a bad look outside on one shitposter).
I wish Ryukishi and Umitrannies would play this game just to see them get mindbroken
It was a happy ending. Batler said so.
I have never played Enderal and have no opinion on it.
once you get the painters' perspective it basically makes you realize that the drama of gods ultimately trumps the drama of the created worlds
I will save my lune waifu
Killing a world
Do you think you commit a murder every time you shoot someone in an fps? That's retarded logic anon, don't be a retard. Lumiere is a painting, no more and no less. The people in it just representations of people, they are not actual people.
Ceci n'est pas une pipe, anon.
The real family are mostly dick heads though
It depends on the story, "fuck you I do what I want no matter the cost" can be very compelling
Not much to my knowledge, you can fight Golgra to get the weapons you missed previously and you can do the ice level for that one Grandis, buts that's barely and Grandis related thing.
Umineko is the greatest love story ever told.
game says they’re real
She isn't paralized, her face is scarred and her vocal chords are damaged but she can still sort of speak. There are many people out there that are way worse.
And Lune herself wasn't sure at all about not destroying the canvas being a solution once she found out the truth about the world. Sciel wanted her dead husband back no matter what but Lune was conflicted about it from the start.
Literally only 1 person in the game thinks they're real. The rest of the family regards them as they are, fake.
No, it really isn't. It inspires a sense of defeat.
painted or painggers as I call them are lesser beings and their world must be discarded so my maelle may live.
Renoir and Alicia treat them as real as well. Not sure if there's anything definitive from Aline. Clea is the only one who doesn't seem to care (she's a psycho though).
Oh yeah I forgot the part where Renoir says the whole world is fake and maelle is deluding herself, because that never happened
Only if you are cuck
Acting according to your principles with no regard to others is based
Oh your misery doesn't count because there are people more miserable!
You have to be retarded to think this is a good argument at all. She's a fucked up gurgling cripple, that's not erased by the theoretical person with locked in syndrome you're comparing her to.
He also forgot the part where Renoir apologizes to the painted people, and where Renoir says it's a cruel choice to destroy the painting, and where Renoir says Alicia and painted Verso should hold on to each other. In no way is he treating them like fake people.
I miss when people knew the point of chadposting was to stereotype a retard.
Clea is based and wants disgusting humans out of her and Verso's painting
Dies Irae is trash and the best endings can be absolutely anything ranging from happy to bittersweet to sad. End yourself
oblivion is a cruel reward
goes through with it anyway
does this to his own painted son
he doesn't treat them like real people, his condolences feel more like words you would offer to your daughter's ratty old teddy bear before replacing it.
She can still paint though.
If she really wants it she can paint her own version of Lumiére instead of keeping Verso hostage.
Both Renoir and Aline were ok with her living her life inside of a canvas at the end if that's what she really wanted, but Verso (our) wanted to free Verso.
This.
What matters is the spiritual value of the ending. Who cares if a character dies or not, life itself is incredibly limited and a good ending should celebrate the transcendental
Not an argument.
The real golden ending
The entire message of the ending is that living in a painting is bad.
You didn't bring any so I have nothing to answer other than it's blatantly false. In Search of Lost Time has one of the best endings in fiction
No! She hates (you) and loves me!
Life being incredibly limited is why we don't need sad endings. It's miserable enough as it is, we don't need to add more.
Never read it, but I'm sure it's pointless misery.
Living in a fantasy, anon.
People here are honestly wasting their breath discussing the relevancy of the life in the canvas. The ending doesn't care about that, it never questions it, you either choose to live in a fantasy or face reality.
He doesn’t go through with it though lol he accepts it’s cruel and believes Maelle and fucks off. Ultimately he knows a painter has to value his family more than the worlds they create because Aline teaches him that but he knows the ideal outcome is to have it both ways (in this case impossible)
where is my happy ending with lune?
Verso tells Maelle that she will be ok because she got her incredible talent to paint.
Living inside a painting IS bad and you will be a vegetable slowly dying in the real world, but after the final fight both Renoir and Aline accepted her resolve and would let she do it even if it meant having to go rescue her again after she ended up going mad like Aline did.
Gone with Gustave's death.
The point is that some people do not consider the canvases to be less 'real' simply because they are created.
I was talking about his resolve to do it at the start of the chapter not after the final fight when he is vanquished
You couldn't be more wrong, underage philistine
why do my actions have consequences?
Retards keep calling this a jrpg or comparing it to anime but this is one instance where the comparison is accurate.
In anime, the heroes do what they want and when a villain presents them with a contradiction they cannot solve, they beat him up and then it just magically works itself out.
Here, the "bad guy" tells YOU, the player, exactly what's going to happen if you make that choice. You choose it anyways and are somehow surprised it ends exactly the way he said it would. Why? Did you think he was making it all up? Like he's just been pulling a prank on his wife and daughter for 70 years?
I have faith in the golden ending. Miseryfags will not win in the end.
Quite the opposite, the misery of life is entirely due to material matters. No true beauty nor meaning can be found there, once you realize that your perspective shifts heavily.
It boggles the mind, why does the human species have countless tales of overcoming adversity and celebrating that instead of jerking off the people who give up when things get hard
Why would any culture value perseverance
It boggles the mind
my headcanon x3
Jesus Christ you schizos, the date just means it's not our world
why didn't she revive Gustave?
I don't think you're quite understanding how these points work together.
The ending says living in a canvas is bad. But Verso says she's good at painting. But her parents are fine with her doing it.
What this means all together, is that she's allowed to make the wrong choice, but that choice is still the wrong one. Meaning, the right choice for her is to be a miserable cripple forever and her painting talent is irrelevant and doesn't help her at all unless she decides to be wrong.
Both Verso and Alice know that Renoir is right, but it is way more complicated than that.
and he acknowledges they think differently
No my misery is entirely pointed because like it makes me feel smart
Do you think you commit a murder every time you shoot someone in an fps?
A computer isnt a magical canvas that literally creates other worlds and life lmao
Yup, you're underage
4chigger thinks it's spam from some gay reason but it's called Drawn from Life
just check AO3 for it
Since the game motions that the painters can use their abilities to some extent in the real world, I assumed that her potential is more of a "despite the scarring she can become the greatest of us" type thing.
Like imagine her growing to use her painting skill to make self a exo-suit of some sort or something along those lines.
Misery in art does not somehow justify or alleviate misery in the real world, your position makes no sense.
no spiritual growth without hardship
What does she achieve by deciding to live a a cripple?
no he should have revealed himself as a demon that we beat up and get our golden ending along with an epilogue in a hot spring where we spy on the girls.
No spiritual growth in wallowing in misery.
I am absolutely older than you.
You don't understand what I'm saying. The misery you're referring to is simply irrelevant because its counterpart, happiness, is completely void.
She gets to live in and influence the real world with her continually maturing painter skills thanks to leaving behind her limiting grief.
Ugly photorealism slop
Happiness is meaningless and misery is meaningless
Just go achieve nirvana or whatever and stop existing.
Gustave beckoning to her after her family disappears. I doubt she left her grief behind. Probably just does what Aline did with a painted Gustave.
She gets to live as a cripple forever with a shitty mom and a shitty sister who hate her.
You're just a product of your time and modernity along with humanism left you an empty shell
Go read Guénon or Matgioi.
And a dad who lovers her, plus magic paint powers that the game keeps pushing she has the potential to be the greatest at.
You did do her Act 3 Side quest, right Anon?
Present your argument to me here instead of expecting me to read your library first.
1 parent doesn't make up for 1 parent and 1 sibling, anon. Also, what do her painting powers matter, when the point is that she's bad and wrong for using them to alleviate or escape from her suffering?
I've already presented it. Stop looking for dopamine everywhere, what you consider good and bad are equally worthless in your animalistic mind
haha I'm glad I'm dealing with reality like an adult
you're an idiot
give the girl an eyepatch god damn
god P5 looks retarded
You're arguing for null value in existence, so again, without more specifics I can only assume you are a Buddhist, or have an equivalent philosophy.
Because they are useable in the real world.
Like we have dialogue about how Renoir and Ciel can use paint magic to fix the houses fire damage.
No proof it can fix her body.
Happiness only exists at the expense of others. Are you comfortable with that?
It doesn't need to fix her body, being able to create and reshape solid matter can get you far in life.
Would you take no expense from anyone if you would cease to exist?
You don't need to stop being in constant pain, look like jerky, or be unable to speak
Yes you do.
verso's ending is canon but maelle's is darker and more fun to watch
Fata Morgana is better.
