im a sub 120 iq midwit btw
What am i in for?
it's a paradox game so 99% of the content being DLC
Pretty shallow and laggy event simulator
Wait one-two weeks to play it. A lot of patches incoming.
difficulty still has total fleet numbers stuck to it or no? if it still does just buy another game
A fairly boring game.
Despite the big file size, you never actually see what happens in the game and you will need to imagine everything in your head, only that unlike text based games, you don't even get detailed, vibrant descriptions of the games events.
Stellaris is not complicated and the AI still sucks, I'm tired of this meme that paradox games are for super genius mesa certified IQs.
A good game that got totally ruined by greed via retarded updates and endless DLCs.
They removed white people from it, by the way.
I NEED CINEMATIC GOYSLOP BECAUSE I COMPLETELY LACK IMAGINATION
perfect GTAVI consoomer
The gameplay loop has nothing to do with intelligence. It suffers from the classic Paradox issue of so much DLC-locked content plastered on it that the devs completely give up on game balance. Once you know the meta, it’s a piece of cake from a strategic point of view. You just play it for the larp. It can be very satisfying, but as said, wait for the patch. It runs like shit in its current state.
a game that was ok then shit then ok again then shit then god awful then absolute trash then ok then back to being shit
10 gazillion popups simulator. Pretty boring after a while because all civs end up feeling samey due to shared tech tree.
I long for the day we get an actual space sim that simulates believable politics and societies that is not afraid of a little unbalaced gameplay.
Stellaris is just a numbers game with barely any space for roleplay.
still can't manufacture new races with modded avatars
Stellaris is mostly just fucking boring.
Why can't I see my cyborg fox guys in all their glory, explore the planets and towns, see the civilians mingling, miners and farmers working, vehicles transporting rescoutrces, sciencists excavating the ancient ruins and locations, cutscenes for events like first contacts and archeological finds, watch my ground armoies fighting, etc?
Other RTS always have visual representations for this stuff.
nice music
has about the right of it. It's not a very difficult game, just tedious. There's so much busywork you hardly get to do the things you actually want to do.
Right now? A broken mess
Open steam, right click Stellaris, go to Betas and rollback the game to before the 4.0 update
RIP if you bought the latest DLC
Devs regularly break the game to get you to buy DLC that fixes it.
What are you babbling about no they didn't
Is there an option to start with a galaxy where the borders are all drawn from the beginning yet? I can't be assed to do the exploration and expansion phase yet again, especially just to find that I'm badly boxed in after an hour or so.
Whats the difference between this and endless space2?
Actually exploring detailed locations myself, avoiding traps, solving puzzles and fighting enemies like in an RPG will always be more fun than watching my numbers go up and then getting a generic, vague text from my sciencists with no mystery whatsoever.
Even actual text based games give more immersive description and player choice than Stellaris.
This has always been a console command
Too many to list but I guess one thing is that your empire can evolve a lot more in this one, which is both good and bad since it gives you a lot more control over the direction of your nation but it also makes the nations more samey
mexican
white
Female ruler.
Omegakek. That empire is fucked.
Spanish name
Spanish features
Mexican
Amerimutt pls
use my devolution ray on an enemy planet
-700 or something opinion
do it again
another -700
again
-700
The opinion stat is just so silly.
Also, why can't I create a militaristic-pacifist ethics civ that enforces peace among space empires by force? Politics simulation in Stellaris is the biggest let down imo.
There was a free weekend last week and I tried this expecting something like a souped up Sins Of A Solar Empire but it was just Europa Universalis in space
swarthy spaniard thinks being from spain makes you any less mexican
It's a randomly generated civ, you can make /yourdudes/ into a patriarchy if you want
You nigger-worshippers are just looking for shit to be offended about huh?
enforces peace among space empires by force?
You can, it's an option in the Galactic Community
be race of all devouring insects connected via hive mind/robots trying to assimilate the entire universe
still have to worry about population happiness and affected by events that shouldnt logically affect you because the devs couldnt come up with a good way to balance you or make you unique other than giving you different resources to juggle than "normal" races
The thing is that the idea of Stellaris sounds BADASS!!!
Make your own custom alien race with very detailed customisation, unlock exciting new technologies like gene editing and powered exoskeletons, exploire a full galaxy and discover inhabitable planets, you can unlock cybernetic implants for your people, strange alien life forms and ancient ruins and secrets, build colonies, fight wars, etc. Sounds like such an amazing time to have.
But then the game is just a shitty menu simulator and logistics simulator and you don't even get to see the planet surfaces yourself besides generic copy pasted static images.
this tbŐ°, we need an AI video generator to text2video everything it does, and more pictures and whatever
there honestly should be a chatgpt plug in, where it feeds whats going onto chat GPT, you get a like a detailed short story of whats happening
ay caramba! dios mio! taco taco burrrrrito!!!
bio patch
makes psionics the most broken shit ever
Telepaths are fucking crazy, who thought changing every enforcer job into a telepath was a good idea?
Pretty boring but unfortunately the only one of Paradox's games that has an equal focus on politics, economy and war without lasering in too much on either one like EU4/CK3, Victoria 2 and HOI4 do respectively
You're supposed to pay for those.
Open console.
Type Observe.
Click any fleet.
Look around.
When done, type play 00.
Don't forget to pause, or an AI will run your empire.
I want to come back. How can I achieve something like this?
That lets you look around but it doesn't let you skip to the point where the borders are drawn so you can jump right into diplomacy and warfare.
Extremely buggy fucking game at the moment due to the recent patch that reworked fucking everything in the game.
reworked fucking everything in the game
why do they do this every 6 months
Last I played the population growth mechanics were absolutely retarded, getting ever slower for each pop that had ever spawned in your empire, so that kind of tactic isn't really viable. Pops are too valuable to be given away.
The swedish mind is an enigma.
If you get rid of pops new ones grow faster again. With the raiding bombing stance you can use neighbors to "farm" for pops and let them recover new pops faster, they do it all over again.
Ah, I see. Well, there used to be a command called mature_galaxy that would jump you 100 years, but when I tested last patch didn't work. With Observe you could plan choke points and imagine your borders.
Distant worlds 2 is better in almost every way, just disable music because I would rather cut my ears off then listen to this game music.
I've put hundreds of hours into this game and it's just not good.
I don't have a single achievement either.
Im obnoxiously tempted to get the new DLC. Most of the content its adding is exactly the shit I like.
im a sub 120 iq midwit btw
You'll take a while to learn it then you'll never stop playing it.
Retards and geniuses get filtered immediately. This is a midwit game.
If anything local growth should accelerate the more pops a planet has, and then increase growth empirewide when the planet is full. I'm tired of new colonies past midgame not really growing at all.
Portrait modding is very easy, until you start messing with animated ones. Would be super cool to be able to just upload a png in-game and have the game add it as a portrait and do the conversions needed however.
120 iq midwit
You'll love it. I'm sort of having more fun with EU 4 and MEIOU&T but the features seem bloated rather than complex and tightly designed. t. the 130 iq just slightly north of you where I got bored of my pirated copy in about 20 hours. Dominions 6 and shadow empire are both way more fun, stellaris sucks.
Just turn growth scaling off or at least the ceiling. It was always a bandaid fix for pop based performance problems and the most recent patch is supposed to be the final solution to the pop problem anyway.
I'm 125, and Heart of Iron (2 and 3) filtered the shit out of me.
Dominions 6
Not really fair comparing a single player game to a multiplayer game. Yes, both have both modes but that's what they really are.
the most recent patch is supposed to be the final solution to the pop problem anyway.
it made pop lag worse actually
MEIOU looks really cool but with how janky it is with them having to wage war against the game itself to make it work plus EUV coming soon I just can't be bothered to get into it.
You're right. I long for the day when AI can be convincingly flawed enough to mimic players properly and have on demand dominions 6 multiplayer without stalling. Or the creation of Gary Grigsby's the Siege of Terra, there's only so many times I can run army group center into the ground for a moscow grab before it gets old.
Yeah it's mostly a UI problem where parsing everything that's going on is a complete disaster, the concepts and implementations are pretty solid.
Show me your custom Stellaris empires Anon Babble
Don't care if they're minmaxed, roleplay autistry, or just attempts to port factions from other games into Stellaris, lemme see them
Depends on your tastes. Personally I found it very addictive and fun, but I'm also a big fan of roleplaying. If you prefer the strategy and tight mechanics of a game like Civ, you're probably not going to like it that much. It is true though that a lot of the game is locked behind DLC, and not all are made equal.
one of the best games ever as long as you always restart after meeting the rest of the galaxy.
that enforces peace among space empires by force?
Son, I suggest you look up the Crusader Spirit ethic.
Essentially you become a force that stops vassals from existing by making the only wars you can declare, Liberation Wars.
Become Galactic Emperor through the Galactic Community and you can enforce Pax Galactica, which is basically "you do not fight each other or the rest of the galaxy kills you."
still have to worry about population happiness
hive mind
Anon, you are colossally fucking something up.
