The amount of information games transmit to stay synchronized is trivial for modern Internet networks and LANs. The problem isn't the amount of data or data transmission rate, it's the path it takes. Dropped packets and long routes fuck up round trip time (AKA ping) and having objects impede a wifi signal is part of that.
