I did. The scripted segments, Carlos' hospital horde mission, and length really hurt it. It felt rushed. Solid 6/10 and I did get it for 30 dollars so I wasn't too upset.

The original had crazy replayability with the choices you can make during gameplay, Mercenary mode was unique and fun.

That RE9 will be next should be obvious to anyone with a brain. As for RE5 being the one after that, there is no proof, but Capcom's been hinting towards it pretty strongly since RE4 dropped.

There is no source, it's pattern recognition. Mainline RE titles are usually 4-5 years apart, and RE8 was four years ago, so we're due for RE9 later this year or early next. As for the game after that, Capcom's probably keeping the remake train going, and there are four contenders for the next one; RE0, RE1, RECV, and RE5. And of those, the only one Capcom's set up is RE5 (as seen in RE4 and Separate Ways), so RE5 is probably next.
As for the next five years number, maybe that's a little pessimistic, but I wouldn't expect anything besides those two games for at least three years, since Capcom doesn't work on RE games faster than that, barring multiplayer dogshit nobody asked for like REverse and Resistence, and especially not since all the backlash against RE3 being rushed out the door.
