Chapter 2 has the snowgrave route and is probably necessary for the shadow mantle/secret ending, hence the visibility and size of "2"
Chapter 3 has the same size as Chapter 2, but no visibility and a not applicable. The "But" probably correlates with it's size. In my view this means that there will be some sort of snowgrave situation that has no effect on obtaining a shadow mantle, but I am probably wrong about this.
