Are you gonna buy a Gamecube controller in about three hours (assuming it goes up at midnight), Anon Babble?

Are you gonna buy a Gamecube controller in about three hours (assuming it goes up at midnight), Anon Babble?

I haven't used the GameCube controllers I already own in years, so no.

No.

What says it goes up for everyone at midnight? Did I miss something?

Normal NSO+ paypigs get access to preorders on the 13th.

It says on the site that itll go live on the 13th for everyone who has Online. I will likely bite because it'll probably be a pain to get otherwise like the n64 one was for months

When are they sending out more Nintendo preorder emails?

I already own 4

last chance to preorder

should I even bother trying? The sites gonna choke and choke hard.

Nah

why wouldn't I just use the ones they made for Smash Ultimate?

tfw ausfag

easy switch 2 preorder and its still available

easy gamecube controller preorder and its still available

Wireless, USB-C charging, second shoulder button even if it's vestigial, share button.

Do you need an invite to buy one?

I have 6 gamecube controllers that all work perfectly and more than one usb adapter. I'm good.

see

Not after midnight tonight, no.

I'll wait like a year and see how well received this new one is.

It'll probably be a hassle to get ahold of later. Vote of confidence is all their other NSO controllers that are almost one-to-one with the original versions, even the N64 and its badly designed analog stick.

already got it from the invite

Does it have analog triggers? I haven't been able to find anything mentioning whether or not it does

Gamecube controller is shit for everything including Smash and I'm tired of pretending its not.

I see no reason it wouldn't, personally, the Smash Ultimate repro controllers have analog input and work fine with original hardware and emulators. They probably have fifty fucktillion Gamecube controller parts laying around and this was a natural choice. They made those Gamecube analog fidget toys out of the sticks and caps, too.

Okay, thanks. I might try to get one. Do you know if it goes up at midnight?

Yep, gonna scalp it for twice the money.

How much are you selling a Switch 2 for?

I assume that the materials used for the sticks + buttons will feel different from the originals.

Are these NSO controllers compatible with anything other than the switch?

tfw applied april 2nd at 10:38 AM

no email

I guess I'll be taking the day off and lining up at costco fucking early

There is still time. We may get invites in a couple days.

I plan on selling my stock at $700. People are stupid for attempting to sell their preorders.

If it's like Switch 1 controllers (including all the NSO controllers) it'll be able to hook up to PC and mobile platforms over Bluetooth regardless of Nintendo's say-so. I use the SNES controller a lot for emulators and played through that B3313 Mario 64 hack with NSO controllers.

I’d buy the Mario Kart bundle for that much. Regular Switch 2, probably not.

Wait til DK releases. Surely they'll have restocks to complement its release.

maybe if I remember and I'm able to, I'm mooching off someone else's family plan atm so idk if I'm eligible

I've given up for launch day, which honestly is fine by me. Mario Kart is whatever but I hope I can get one in time for Expand Dong Bananza.

Do these things work fine with games outside of the online sub garbage? I heard that the new pro controller has button remapping, so

That's exactly what I wanted to know. Thanks.

Looks like everybody in a family plan can buy their own individual NSO controllers so the Gamecube controller should work the same

I can already buy it in my region but I'm not getting one, wired ones will work perfectly fine and I'd only ever use it for the gamecube app because I prefer the pro controllers

Reminds me of the time I got a bass on a damn brim pole. Still salty 20 years later is got away...

Will you buy the worst controller ever astroturfed by dumb retards who play the worst smash game

Nah

GameCube games is one of the biggest selling points for the Switch 2.

How pathetic

Nah, I think I’ll just get these Pac-Man donuts. Seems like a better financial decision and will surely bring me more joy.

Same I signed up maybe 15 minutes after the initial preorder and have all the options checked. Doug Bowser is a shithead and needs to be fired, hopefully if the Switch 2 is not as successful they can his ass

Settling for this when you could get pic related.

Unironically Wind Waker, F-Zero GX with online multiplayer, and the Gamecube version of Soulcalibur 2 with online multiplayer is a really strong bolster to Switch 2's starting lineup.

krispy kreme sucks

imagine being at computers

I have to assume the amount of signups was so large they switched to a lottery system rather than an in order time system

They’re pretty good if you can get them fresh.

Name 1 good gamecube game that actuslly plays better on a gamecube controller

I'd probably sooner get that Doyoky controller since it comes in joycon form, and neither of these are really super-accurate to how a Gamecube controller looks or feels.

It's not a great controller, but its unique face button shapes and the two-stage triggers mean that it's the only decent way to play Gamecube games. The control schemes are designed around the idea that you can press X and A simultaneously with ease, for example, when those buttons are opposite each other on a modern Nintendo controller.

Gamecube controller is dogshit. Who started this fucking meme about it being good?

will the multiplayer work the same way as multiplayer worked for n64 switch online games where it was extremely laggy and unplayable

Metroid Prime

At least a Horipad will not shit itself in 3 months after purchase.

I have that, feels cheap and flimsy, and has no analog triggers
the most use I got out if it was the turbo one time

Switch 2 dock has an ethernet adapter built in, so little Timmy doesn't have an excuse for using his wifi instead.

Nah, I'll just do what I did with the N64 controllers and wait on someone like 8Bitdo to have a motherboard swap available. Would be neat if their already available mobo mod "just werks" with it.

so little Timmy doesn't have an excuse for using his wifi instead.

usually peoples tv setup is very far away from their router so this won't solve the problem you think it does

The excuse is that most people put their modem/router combo unit in an inaccessible location because 100% of their devices are on wifi and they don't even know what ethernet is.

That BattlerGC Pro controller is the only one you're gonna find that has analog triggers and isn't made by Nintendo. That or the XYAB controller that's intended as a cheap alternative to a real one.

first person advenshooter

lmao you can still play with the old scheme with a nee controller

Oh 8bitdo has already had that for a few months now on normal Gamecube controllers. The analog sticks feel lighter than an original but the Z button is more tactile and you can click the sticks.

that's cool (plays in handheld)

Base switch doesn’t have an ethernet port in the dock?

IMG_0861.jpg - 2553x2028, 1.53M

yeah it was added in the OLED dock
well it replaced a usb port actually

I have a gamecube controller from the Wii U adapter + Wii U smash special edition. Does the hub work on PC?

I have 3 friends who bought those incredibly shitty WiFi range extenders solely to fuck with FGC people who “won’t play against WiFi”

I know. My only qualms on it are the shit battery life and the optional soldering.

Yes. You posted the OLED dock. Timmy's parents can't afford the extra $50.

The N64 stick, while identical in size and feel, is actually a modern designed stick and a different design than the N64 original one. I watched a 40 minute YouTube video about it. Basically the original N64 control sticks worked like a mouse-ball mouse and used a photo sensor shot through a disk with holes, while newer sticks use something else; I don't remember. Basically it's super autism, but N64 control sticks are more accurate for certain games and get damaged easier or something.

Has the same vibes as this.

Tell you what though that CRKD Neo S is a shockingly good controller.

I'm waiting for these to drop once they figure out how to get them out of china.

the optional soldering.

Honestly I didn't notice any benefit in soldering it over doing the solderless jank shit 8bitdo wants you to do of twisting the wires together and heat-shrinking them. The heat-shrinking ensures proper contact even if you did a bad twist job.

Just pay the tariff.

I'm not sure about getting a GameCube controller for Switch Online, but I can tell you that I bought a wireless N64 controller for my Lenovo Legion Go.
I chose the black one so it would match with my black Lenovo Legion Go.
I might get a black GameCube controller for it later so I can emulate with Dolphin.

I don't think they have any stock left now after the invite orders. It and other items just say "Releases June 5" currently.

Oh shit, I thought you were joking. I was using their video as reference for the soldering.

no because i didnt fall for the online paywall meme, so im not allowed to buy it

Yes I bought two

One for me and one for a fren

s2.jpg - 1156x881, 132.51K

I already bought it, people who tried it said it was really good quality

And looking back, the video is almost as retarded. I swore I saw them use solder to connect the two when I did it.

Can I not just use the GC USB adapter that was made for the WiiU and Switch? Then plug in an actual GC controller? If I want wireless I can just use a Wavebird.

The gamecube controller adapater is on their list of backward compatible shit.

You probably got soldering the wires together as a suggestion because it's one of those situations where "why wouldn't you do this instead," but it's whatever, really, twisting the wires and heatwrapping them is probably the only way that could ever be considered a solder-free solution.
