Monster Hunter Wilds sells over 10 Million copies, Capcom makes over a billion dollars.
Monster Hunter Wilds sells over 10 Million copies, Capcom makes over a billion dollars
Wilds more like Milds.
and yet people cum and dump'd that game in 2 weeks with no coming back to relevancy in sight until the next full game. for another 2 weeks.
Probably biggest buyer's remorse I've had since Guild Wars 2
Game is just shit. Stopped at 43 hours, killed new monsters in Update 1 ONCE and that's it. It just doesn't feel fun to play, monsters are way too easy, the mount killed any "hunting" part of the game, still absolutely runs like shit, and the story is legit one of the worst I've ever seen.
So MH is pretty much dead at this point right? Capcom sees no value in the classic design and aesthetics and will chase after graphics and storyfaggotry from now on.
From now on, they'll focus on the story and cutscenes rather than gameplay.
We did it, gamers.
ignore Nintendo Switch
game now looks good and runs good
sell 10 million copies
It's that simple.
surely they'll pay it forward and invest that money into optimisation
Only one billion? Lmao
Just like Doom
Just like Diablo
Just like Final Fantasy
Just like Zelda
Just like every single beloved old classic game that garnered a loyal audience over time.
Enjoy your casualized and streamlined games that have been made generic to sell more and increase company share prices, goy.
That's what happens when you put an attractive woman in your game.
It was at 10 million a month ago so in that time span it sold 100k. World also outsold Wilds in April. Negative word-of-mouth is already driving sales and retention down just like DD2.
Gemma yes not that Jew Alma
big titty blondes sell games
if only that was the lesson they would take away from this success
game now looks good and runs good
BASED
game now looks good and runs good
Milds
looks good
runs good
Hahahaha
Pitbull owners in a nutshell
Now imagine how it would look on the abysmal Switch 2 hardware...
We don't want Milds. We want Rise 2.
Terrible news. Now the next MH will be even further watered-down.
I don't care how it looks, I care how it runs and plays
from what i heard of the switch 2 specs it would probably run World pretty well. Wilds however it would have to have pretty major considerations when it don't even run on the ps5/xbox series x all that well.
expedition 33 will easily outsell this slop
isnt 10 million x 70 only 700 million though?
Exactly. It would look and play like SHIT on the Switch 2. The hardware is 2013 tier.
no, the switch 1 was 2013 tier. it is a handheld you should hold it to handheld standards.
World outsold Milds in April
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
go woke
break franchise records
Eric you lost and got raped and Wild is shit
It actually sold pretty much the same exact as World, it's just that the PC sales this time around are included day one and not 8 months later
Nope! Switch 2 is PS4 tier. That released in 2013. Even in 2013 it was equivalent to a low level PC.
new game sells on the back of the old one like always
new game is nowhere near as enjoyed
The expansion will fall far short of expectations but by then Capcom will be too dug in to story garbage locked to PS5's to pivot
Never played a Monster Hunter before but I got this one with my GPU. Should I even boot it up?
the people, aka gamers, dont agree with you.
You lost, fake gamer.
ps4 didn't have 4k hdr 120fps or dlss. the chip of switch2 is from 2023. cope harder
reading comprehension my dude, mobile hardware standards.
font agree with you
Is that why the game has lost 95% of its playerbase?
I love huntresses, monstresses, Alma and Gemma.
What do you mean? game is sitting consistently at the same player count week on week.
a good 50k people on PC alone, havent stopped playing.
you mean, like every game with limited content?
Having 50k people playing every week several months post launch is good, cope all you want, but more people play wilds than whatever piece of shit old dinosaur game you peddle
That's just what happens when you crack 7 figures in initial playercount. Even if the game is bad a fraction of them will stick around.
still a shitty game
"lost" like they didn't already sell their product to those people lol.
Chartstards are truly something else.
Aren't we supposed to be getting a collab event this month? Still not revealed.
That’s really fucking awful
That's just what happens when you crack 7 figures in initial playercount. Even if the game is bad a fraction of them will stick around.
what no ignore all the games that prove me wrong!
Switch 2 doesn't have 4K or 120fps hahahahhaha
why yes, the Switch 2 is shit but here's why that's okay
Reddit tier response
It's at 4% retention rate barely a couple months after launch. That's not good.
Wilds literally dipped below Elden ring this weekend, shit is grim
this child doesnt remember when handhelds had their own catalog because they were like 1 or 2 generations behind in terms of power...
End of month, probably a cosmetic armor like the SF/DMC armor in World.
I dropped at 35 hours. Never even completed HR because the game kept crashing on Jin. I was forcing myself to complete it anyway. The game is the worst in the series, they destroyed it for mass appeal and I'm debating on even getting the G-Rank DLC. Been playing since Freedom 1 on PSP too, such a let down.
used to be
Switch 2 is PS4 tier and PS6 is on the horizon
ah yes we will totally have a *shorter* generation than last time when this generation has barely done anything and most people were not able to get their consoles until a couple of years in due to the wuhan flu.
NOOOOOOOOOOO NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
sitting consistently at the same player count week on week
Nigga, 3 weeks ago it was at 200k. Right now it's only like 30k over World, a 7 years old game.
Fuck, during the "Return to World" campaign, World remained in the 70-120k range for months.
Even with multiple updates and all the dripfeed possible, the game slowed down WAY faster than World and Rise.
Which honestly it shows, discussion has completely dried up about the game and the game is still stuck at Mixed reviews on Steam.
yes it has both. seethe
kill boss to get gear to kill boss to get gear kill boss to get gear to kill boss to get gear to
fucking how
braindead retard shit
No, guys, you don't understand. Keeping fifty thousand people out of more than 1.3 million (3%) is a great success for the series! Just look!
Fought Hyper Plesioth for 20+ minutes
only drops 1 Hyper Viscous Fluid
Fuck this gay-ass Hyper padding bullshit
PS6 coming fall 2027 and Switch 2 is massively underpowered. Both of these things are true.
PS6 is on the horizon
and Switch2 will outsell it like Switch outsold both ps4 and ps5. cry harder
If you actually believe that dogshit hardware will play anything decent at 4k OR 120fps you're a delusional fanboy.
Wow, just look at these awful numbers. Imagine a game with a 5% retention rate after 3 years. Just terrible.
I had my fun, will wait for the DLC and game more.
noooooo why don't you play the same game every single day for years
because I'm not a spastic like you.
If they put world on a summer sale it’s going to beat wilds
If ps5 can go to 800p 25fps then switch2 will be fine don't worry
a literal 96% drop in a bit less than 2 months
for a game that is built on playing it for hundreds of hours
Yeah hypers are the worst late game hub gimmick, so fucking boring and they take forever. No one ever wants to farm them either so you solo
i'm sure retards would buy it if it does, i mean just 7 years with a console that might as well not have had the first 2? has it even gotten any games worth playing yet? i just use mine for genshin impact and it feels like a massive waste. i guess i played some returnal and rift apart early on, i bought spiderman but found it to be ass.
fanatical.com
There's a "bundle" that beats the historical low for rise and wilds. Not sure how popular fanatical is though.
if hardware that is infinitely more powerful than Switch 2 can't do it Switch 2 can do it
This is the mentality of a child
i play wilds and i enjoy it
Yeah, I bought a switch and its just been collecting dust. I played zelda but quit after realising its not that great. Don't know why they're making a Switch 2.
you are so mad it's really so funny. looking forward to switch2 to destroy ps5 and ps6
I'm looking forward to its popularity forcing developers to think about performance.
The Switch 2 is already getting the REAL Monster Hunter, and from the previews it sounds like they already fixed all the bullshit optimization issues that the PC port had.
developers must optimize games
wow what a disgrace!
snoys are truly retarded. not surprised they brought $700 piss5 pro
the switch also came out in 2017, people who wanted it right away could have gotten it, plus it was an 8 year cycle on that one instead of 7.
i got a switch as well and played it a fair bit until about 2020 or so when i got my series x and my ps5 in 2021, mostly use it for road trips these days.
i got that game for free and still feel like i should get a refund, the fortnite building mechanic isn't fun.
based
Don't know why they're making a Switch 2.
so (you) can seethe harder for another ten years
No global pandemic to save you this time
I hope your game becomes popular
This is a threat now.
Why would I seethe about a tablet having no gaems?
Wilds is the funniest AAA release in many, many, many years partly because it’s so bad and because of capcom’s marketing strategy. If you noticed, they partnered with every fucking “content creator”. 30 view literally who’s were getting sponsored streams.
For some many people in the “content creation” sphere if it’s not their first partnership with a dev/publisher, it’s their biggest by far. Capcom is an industry giant after all. It created this situation where you have negative word of mouth. As in, you don’t even get bad press, you get ZERO press. Take other AAA disasters like Cyberpunk or even Starfield. You saw so many people coping and defending the game, even if it was out delusional sunk cost, they had an online presence.
Wilds? Completely fucking disappeared. People don’t even bother shitting on it, like with DD2. Part of this is none of the “content creators” want to fuck up their first time relationship with a publisher in the industry. So they say nothing. Nobody says anything. It’s probably going to be the best selling game of the year and yet nobody is pointing out the emperor is not wearing clothes.
From the outside looking in, it’s fucking hilarious. There is no passionate damage control like you got from starfield or cyberpunk, it’s just shameful silence.
>game now looks good and runs good
excellent bait very nice
muh covid boost!!!!!
lol switch was selling 22 million/year in 2019 already. cope harder snoy
Cope
but enough about ps5
Wilds is the funniest AAA release in many, many, many years partly because it’s so bad and because of capcom’s marketing strategy. If you noticed, they partnered with every fucking “content creator”. 30 view literally who’s were getting sponsored streams.
literally everybody does that Blizzard viewbots all their games, yet you never see anybody complain about that at all.
sure wish this game had content and monster variety. event quests are abysmal, monster release is painfully slow. when will Capcom learn?
I got to try this out at a friend and all you do is watch a movie and listen to dialogue from people you don't care about. Most of the time I'm not controlling my character.
I was convinced very quickly that I made the right call not to upgrade my PC for this. It's a shame if it sold well. I hope the next game will be a return to form I can have a blast with.
the fortnite building mechanic
Are people still mistaking Wild Hearts with Dauntless, or is “summon spring on too of block to make swinging mallet” all it takes to be “Fortnite” these days?
Two more weeks and everyone will stop playing Wilds, I can feel the consensus cracking my brothers
If you noticed, they partnered with every fucking “content creator”.
And celebrities like Daisy Ridley, as though someone at Capcom honestly thought the bland protag from the worst set of Star Wars movies was going to help sell copies.
Even in my country a lot of small MH youtubers who were never even considered for review copies all got contacted to get one.
1+M on release week
now only streamers
You prove my point. your game is absolutely dead.
i was mostly shit talking, but there is more than the hammer and you gotta alternate different builds mid-combat when they mostly get smash up before you even finish building them.
i got other issues with the game, mostly the unrealistic movement of the monsters, why should a plague rat covered in huge mushrooms be able to jump 15 feet into the air to body slam you?
No one cares about blizzard in 2025
ps5
a tablet
You're losing grip with reality
It's fine in HR but it's plain torture in GR
Tried looking up for a room in Ryujinx but no one was online. I need 4 of this crap, Gog help me
Ok, but how many players? That metric matters more (in Reddit)
I hate how poorly it runs. Hate the main story being so handholdy. Don't like the seikret. Don't like how it easy it often is and don't like how repetitive the endgame content is.
...but it's my favorite MH gameplay-wise. The new monsters just need some balancing and be made into actual threats.
I'm holding out hope the expansion will some of those problems because there's a lot of potential in Wilds.
the expansion to these games are usually what fixes everything, it not only increases the difficulty but makes all old monsters relevant again even if the frog is still going to be a jobber.
usually completely different endgame as well, using worlds as an example i played the base game for 250 hours as i cared a bit more than usual then did an additional 750-800 with iceborne. though a few dlc fights were poorly implemented if you solo.
They already stopped playing wilds
Shills are already running this cope, the problem with wilds is gameplay related.
a few dlc fights were poorly implemented if you solo.
Which ones? Once you know what you're doing, it's better to play alone most of the time. More carts and monsters stop running around like headless chicken chasing 4 players spreading out all over the area
I'll believe it if P6th foregoes gameplay for the sake of railroading a story. Until then, I have at least a modicum of faith in Ichinose keeping MH intact yet again.
the raid fights are not fun solo, also why is Alatreon harder than Fatalis? was elemental always that ass that when forced to use it the fight is just plain harder?
although base world, Behemoth was also ass to solo.
shit out worst ever in series
dogshit retards gobble it up like turkeys
piss5 has no games
Actually, it won't sell like crazy
Fair. Behemoth is just plain cancer and the timer on Siege quests (and event Kulve) is just plain gay
Alatreon harder than Fatalis
Use LS and just mash button. Although the elemental check /is/ pretty lame
It’s funny because it did flop
hopefully they learned and will keep the MMO mechanics out of monster hunter going forward.
I wonder if Nightreign will be the same the entire board tries to avoid talking about that, but it will probably be even more successful in terms of sales than wilds.
Seems like it, judging from Zoh Shia. It has a cinematic attack but can be easily countered with basic mechanic
I'll keep playing SB instead. Let me know when P6th gets announced.
I need an actual answer for this question since you didn't like Wilds: did you sincerely not like the weapons / movesets / combat in Wilds?
and fuck the storymode in LR. The hunts themselves and the monster roster? What about them?
Do your own market research chatGPT
Zoh Shia is kicking my ass as a LS user. What the fuck, the AOEs are bullshit
still a shitty game
shit sells we know
the average iq is declining
normoids are tasteless
Just shoot the crystals bro
It's really hard to tell because Nightreign seems more like a proof of concept game for the B-team to get experience on and develop backend services to use in future mainline entries than a full game in and of itself.
it's still a forced multiplayer games zoomers love these, and they can play the same game their favorite influencer plays.
It’s a jap game it’s going to get buried by influencers
Maybe, I'm not totally convinced that the zoomer audience will turn out for this. FromSoft misstepped hard by not allowing two people to play it without a third, I think. You're stuck in a lobby with two other schizos and no voice comms for the length of the average league game. It's not a strategy for a successful game.
I'd have bought two copies already if not for the 3 player thing just to play with my brother so maybe I'm putting a little too much importance on that in particular.
Sounds like AI faggotry sure. But if you're like me and play shit like Gunlance and Hammer, how do you play Wilds and go:
Wow, this feels like trash
What?
this is a flop according to Anon Babble
Everything since Zoh Shiah has been reasonably hard it’s kind of ridiculous how certain groups are pushing this idea the game is simply never gonna get harder
MHR is still considered a flop by Anon Babble despite being the 2nd-most successful game in capcom's entire catalog. It's not surprising that Wilds is being slammed with the same "flop! flop!" narrative.
My friend who only use Hammer did say that Wilds' moveset is trash
that's why i always laugh when some edgy Anon Babbletard posts about boycotting games, like this shitty board's population affects or decides anything significant at all
Most of this comes from worldsperms who think that game was hard because it was their first MH game.
Wilds Gore Magala already pushes everything base World had over a cliff in terms of difficulty.
Pandering to reddit always boosts sales.
If it's anything like the previous MH, the general narrative about Wilds' perceived difficulty will exclusively be built around the game's 1.0 state, and that narrative will last long past the expansion and its updates.
capcom's financial year ending March 31, 2025
Wilds released Feb 28th
one month between launch and end of fiscal year
financial report confirms 10.1 million sales of Wilds
Wilds first month sales=10.1 million
Rise first month sales=4 million
World first month sales=8 million
Citing sales is influenced by the success of the previous game is objectively proven wrong by this data, in every way possible. World sold great, rise sold like shit. Rise should have sold more if it was due to previous game's success. Wilds sold even better than World, but it shouldn't have since the previous game (rise) was not successful.
I was a Hammer only dude until Wilds, I think the moveset is really good. The only three problems are:
1. Water Strike was removed. This was a huge Hammer QoL in Risebreak and should be returned to hammer ASAP.
2. Offset is incredibly gay to time
3. Damage is too low, but that's getting fixed soon (tm)
I've since moved on to Lance, which is incredibly fluid and fun to play in Wilds. Could also use more damage though, and don't give me that "it's a tank weapon" bullshit, fucking GS is more of a tank weapon than Lance these days.
They turned nearly every weapon into counter slop. Not even SB was this extreme
SB at least gave players the choice to turn them off.
The same bullshit happened with Rise.
second best selling game in Capcom history
best selling exclusive in company history
Anon Babble claims flop
MH threads are ONLY shitposting now.
Hell, people are trying to keep the "rise flop" narrative alive in this very thread.
You forgot that the first month of Rise was on Switch only
Wilds actually flopped though did you not see their quarterly report
ok crapcom you got your money now where's my scary island for Goblin Simulator 2
that rhetoric has to be from diehard world players with a chipped shoulder against rise for a number of reasons. equating rise to a financial failure when it sold 16.7 mil + 9.4 mil from sunbreak is completely delusional. could also just be from trolls trying to get some easy (You)'s
lol do you people own stock in Capcom? Why care how much it sold when the game is an ugly unfun mess that runs like shit?
first month
try the first 10 months. Obviously this points to multiplat releases sell better than locking them down to a single ecosystem. The true equalizer here would be what Nintendo paid for the exclusivity. If it wasn't at least 4 million, which would close the gap between Rise and World, then Rise would still be considered a weaker title, sales wise. Unfortunately, this data would never be made public. World was initially only available on consoles, and did 8 million. Wilds released to consoles+PC and did 10 million. Steamcharts all time peak for Wilds is 1.179 mil, which STILL doesn't fully account for the gap between World's console-only first month sales, and Wilds full multiplat first month sales.
in march of 2021, when Rise launched, switch total sales were at ~85 mil. 4 million sales for Rise in the first month amounts to about 5% of the total switch install base. Estimates of the sales ratio between PS4 and XB1 for World are about 85/15, 85% sold on PS4, 15% on XB1, meaning of World's 8 mil first month sales, 6.8 mil was on PS4 and 1.2 mil was on XB1. In January of 2018 PS4 lifetime sales were about 75 mil, 6.8 mil out of 75 mil is roughly 12 percent. This shows that a higher % of platform holders bought World than they did Rise. Even normalizing for platform exclusivity, Rise underperformed. Accept it.
Wilds didn't seel better than World, it just released all three versions at the same time
Famitsukek cope
Rise already sold somewhere around 7-9 million on only one platform by the time it launched on steam.
Yeah I'm sure capcom is super disappointed that they made the 2 best-selling games in company history back-to-back, likely 3 now.
underperformed
still made more money than Resident Evil
comparing apples and oranges
sure, and all of these games made less money than gacha. cool story bro, really made a good point there. you should be a professor.
that would be a good point if we weren't talking about the performance of franchise games made by the same company. cope harder, moron
games makes 1bil profit
breaks company's record
"IDZA FLOP!"
What causes this?
slaughter the golden goose
Wow guys look we've got goose meat!
not reaching for the top
bruh, why don't companies just lay back and chill with a fat blunt all day, like, seriously, who gives a fuck, money's money bro
What will the narrative be when the grank expac drops and over-performs IB or SB sales?
I don't know. I'll burn that bridge when I come to it.
Anon Babble will wait 2 months for the playercount to drop again and claim it's a flop
I'm interested too given Wilds numbers are already hemorrhaging not even three months after release. Word of mouth is also very bad compared to World. Either way this franchise is dead. Ryozo is going to force the real A team (portable team) to make more games like Wilds instead of Monster Hunter.
I love that line. Jack is too good of a protagonist.
people finish single player game with coop play
player numbers drop over the course of several months
Wtf are you expecting dood
RE 6 moment
It's at a 4% retention rate while Worlds and Rise are at a 10% and 5% respectively despite having been out much, much longer. That doesn't bode well.
world already competing in playercount
get what you fucking pigs deserve enjoy an even worse experience on the next game
They also have frequent big discount sales and can run on lower hardware (reminds me World's and Iceborne's performance at launch was terrible).
People having finished Wild's content and hopping on older titles, whether because they discovered the series with Wilds or not, while waiting for future updates doesn't mean shit. If anything it's positive for capcom.
30 fps
No gameplay changes from World
All monsters are shit
PS3 graphics
Added Lovecraftian shit to a family friendly franchise
Retarded interface
Unskippable walking segments
Shit music
No Elder Dragons on release
Less monsters than MH2 and 4 on release
Proof Of A Hero is literally just a copy of the original but worse
Hammer deals no damage
LS is overpowered
No challenge
No MH language
Is this the worst game of all time?
World and Rise were not multi platform release, the PC versions are going to have a greater % of hardcore players who double dipped+they have G rank content+a greater % of Wilds players bought the game and found they don’t have PC specs to play it.
This is such a retarded metric to use, there’s too many variables
Resident evil 6 broke the franchise record during launch and was a massive failure
That's not what the charts say.
Rise World The people who hopped onto Wilds as their first left to the next flavor of the month instead of getting invested in the franchise. Maybe they'll come back for DLC but I doubt it.
the story railroad and the monsters being so easy damage the game more than you would think, as well as many other little things that this game casualizes.
It's incredibly braindead to not give players freedom to explore the map and hunt whenever, instead they railroaded the story and there's no reason to explore the map cause Seikret just does eveerything.
The monster roster is amazing but it can't have any value because the fights are a joke, Uth Duna looks imposing, his design is pretty and menacing at the same time, fighting a beast like that during a downpour should be majestic and scary, instead, it's the 5th quest of the game and you kill it in 6 minutes. The first time and second and third time you fight all these monsters will all be a cakewalk, and you'll only get a properly engaging and challenging version that forces you to try once you get to the endgame or the arch tempereds.
Think about it, once you max out your gear... what monsters do you hunt for fun? Not even for grinding, for fun? What's fun to hunt? Doshaguma will not be, Lala Barina won't be, even Nu Udra would be a joke of a quest, only maxxed out strength level Arkveld and Gore will matter, and arch tempereds too I guess, but we only have one for now, so then... yeah, you got three monsters that are fun to hunt and they'll get boring quickly after you hunt them for the 9th time in a row.
I feel like finishing up MHWorld and seeing the credits and maxing my gear and being satisfied with the game took me twice as long as it did with MHWilds even though MHWorld is quite easy too, but MHWilds is just THAT much more streamlined that it got boring way faster.
Reminder that this faggot promotes every mediocre triple A garbage that gets released so he can push his right wing narrative. Chuds still struggling to win against body type 1/2 but lost horrendously on games design, art design, optimization, bad business practices and a lot more just to own le heckin woke people. Gamins is absolutely fucked beyond repair.
What will the narrative be when world has more players in like one month lmao it’s already nearly 50%
Capcom literally says wilds was a massive success because of the story
they are going to go even harder into the story in future games
high rank and g rank will be replaced with cinematic on rails experiences
meds
This is a result of the game practically playing itself and the story literally carrying you automatically to the credits in 15 hours of playtime, newbies have no reason to stick around and stay, they weren't forced to learn anything, engage with the mechanics properly, to care about the combat system and the monster's strnths and weaknesses, they just listened to a podcast while being carried through the game until the credits, thought "oh I guess that's it" and then left lmao, then again, why wouldn't they, the game gives no compelling reason to stay, I guarantee that 50% of people who played the game tought that Low rank was the main content and highy rank is just "oh I guess they added a couple extra monsters and harder setting for the hardcore fans whatever"
World and Wilds are both bad but Wilds is so bad it makes World look like a good game despite Wilds having a more varied roster and complete weapon designs.
Tokuda is a hack and Ryozo is a retard for pushing this movie game focus with MH.
I have fun when I'm fighting monsters. This means I have fun in like five minute intervals (actually less than this because a minute or two of the hunt is the seikret auto running to the monster). And while I have fun, I am very aware that I'm outclassing the monster by a lot, and it doesn't really have a great chance of fighting back.
I like the new monsters in Wilds, but they're still getting their shit pushed in, so it's not that much different. I'm a switch axe guy and the sword counter is really overpowered, it's got a long parry window, it's got high damage, it gives you a ton of gauge, lets you hyperarmor through attacks, and can be spammed constantly. So while it's fun to use, it's pretty broken and makes short hunts even shorter.
I wish instead of the switch axe in wilds now, they'd just made the switch axe F from frontier the one in wilds
forgot this game even came out
I want to have sex with monsters
Good sales, shit player retention.
Clearly all because of the deep and intricate plot, right.
Portable team, only you can save MH. Please don't disappoint us.
I hope so.
hmmm
Look at that bot bump for wilds kek
Weird, this amount of mindless screeching fury and hate campaigning is usually reserved for Nintendo games. What did this one do to draw such ire?
Wilds had literally every red flag imaginable that the game was gonna be fucking garbage yet every concern got deflected with-
Bro, World already started that!
As if that's somehow makes it fine
It's not surprising player retention sucks given they're holding back on fun arena/event quests.
Wilds lost a lot of people mostly due to bad optimization
Wrong, the slightest amount of players leaving proves that Wilds is the most disgusting woke tranny faggot badly-made anti-gamer shit on the faces of the fans piece of garbage sewage ever made and everyone who defends it is a mindless brainwashed goy cattle waiting to be butchered.
Did they fix hitstop and the shitty lod bugs?
Tendies
So the people calling MHR a flop are nintendo fans?
And it can't even manage 30k steady on steam and is now in the lower quadrant of the top 100. Sure thats not bad numbers, but to lose over 1million down to 30k in a mere 2 months is not a good look.
Let me guess World is your first monhan and you're in your teens, meaning illegally on 4chin? This is the only way i can explain away how you can't see the writing on the wall.
that's title update 1 launching and dragging people back for zoh shia and mizutsune
It's not surprising player retention sucks given they're holding back on fun arena/event quests.
The way Wilds is fundementally designed goes against retention and replayablity
No one was relaunching wilds for 1 new monster, obviously capcom is botting to shill their update
Why is it always, ALWAYS, the worst iteration of any series that attracts the normies.
no
This whole "1, maybe 2 monsters per quarter" shit sucks. Why can't they just roll this shit out monthly or every other month like the portable crew?
So, what do Worlds and Rise have that makes people constantly replay them? Every single game in the series is the exact same, you finish the story then mindlessly grind monsters to play dress-up.
Capcom stocks dropped 5% after the quarterly report
Capcom sees no value in the classic design
The thing you consider "classic design" is just portable team design.
Wilds is perfectly inline with "main" series design. If Dos was released in English, people would be calling Wilds a return to form.
World had fuck ton of other content than just farming the current strongest monster. Stuff like hunting rare endemic life for your room etc gave it much longer life span.
True, team A are way lazier than team B.
next game line must go up even more
we have to make 2 billion dollars
ill get it when it eventually comes in a humble bundle
every new release of the game has to be exactly like the one that I played when I was 12
no it wasn't exciting because I was 12
it was just BETTER
Wilds doesnt have grind. It showers you with enough materials to make like 2 or 3 pieces of armor after a single 5-8 minute kill.
And that short minute kill time was the result of nothing but mindless mashing while your cat keeps your health topped off and the handler talks to you like you're a downie that doesnt know how to carve monster parts.
You don't have to learn how to play wilds to succeed. And you don't even need online to get carried anymore. They made a second movie game that runs poorly when you actually get to play, got ecelebs to shill the fuck out of it, and stuck the MH name on it.
All to pander to dumb normalfags that will drop it within a few hours of booting it.
The inevitable next Switch 2 (and maybe PC port later) game is gonna be amazing and you know it. Fuck the Rise Shonen Jump aesthetic. They're making something truly great.
also: still pissed they wasted the "horror theme" on a fucking spin-off expansion. Frankenstein, Wolfman and Dracula monsters on an expansion? It was great, but it still hurt.
Why would player number matter when the game isn't a live-service profit model? All that matters to Capcom is they made bank with a rushed game, keeping just enough interest with drip-fed cut-content until they redo the same performance more or less with the g-rank expac, which will probably sell more than any past MH expac.
when the game isn't a live-service profit model
What's the difference between how wilds handles mtx and a live service game does?
One lets you have access to the whole game's content at your disposal, the other penalises your progression with arbitrary decisions such as time-barriers or season passes and whatnot.
you realize base game monster hunter is set up like a live service game and always has been right? It's a shitty console MMO
So MH is pretty much dead at this point right?
Nah, Wilds was MH's RE6 moment. It sold extremely well sure, but its damaged the identity of the brand. MH is now a series without a voice, sure it's "mainstream", but it's mainstream in a generic Ubisoft way. It's plain and soulless.
People showed up for Wilds, question is, will they show up for the next MH? I'm doubtful. Every person I talked to disliked the story focused in Wilds, even the most casual gamer disliked just how much handholding there was and "just wanted to hunt monsters with their friends". Most people who liked Wilds didn't even love it, they just thought it was ok. They played it and forgot about it, and keep in mind that Capcom wants this to be a live-service title with DLC roadmaps and microtransactions.
Capcom fucked up bigly with this one, MH needs to take time off and go back to the drawing board. Because this direction isn't sustainable
One lets you have access to the whole game's content at your disposal
So not Wilds with it's arbitrary time restricted event quests and cosmetics that are only available for a short amount of time because they're tied to a limited time challenge quest.
In that it adds content updates? Yes.
Not as a for profit model though.
MH used to be built like that but 90% of that time was pointless timewasting, they removed that
Every update that adds content also adds a bunch of microtransactions. Wilds even has a cosmetic dlc "season" pass to dripfeed and get more money from consoomers.
It showers you with enough materials to make like 2 or 3 pieces of armor after a single 5-8 minute kill.
Weird, I've had to hunt the monster I want armor from several times and more to get everything I need for a set, especially if it needs a rare drop from the monster.
Wilds was MH's RE6 moment
apt comparison, the interesting thing will be the sales of the expansion
reddit spacing
So, they did listen.
But none of those are in wilds.
He's talking about investigations which you have to hunt a monster 30 times to get anyway and even then you need a max reward investigation which requires 10 more hunts which you wont get until high rank anyway
Which is not time-gating, or barring you from accessing the content of the game.
It's not designed to appear optional while being mandatory or pay-to-win, it's pure bonus for them. They could've gone full ass and have monster parts/gems as DLC.
sells 10+ million copies
A switch2 exclusive MH will sell 2x as much just like Rise did.
Capom has lost the plot and the MH franchise has lost it's identity!
Pure delusion, cope, and sour grapes.
My children with Alma will found a banking system and enrich my line until my descendants are eventually forced to flee from the country.
So you can't get everything to make a full set from one hunt like everyone keeps parroting?
Which is not time-gating, or barring you from accessing the content of the game.
The game already has content that is time gated and cosmetics that are time gated. It has more paid cosmetics on top of that.
It takes 3-5 hunts for a set
No, even if you get a max level investigation and break all the monster parts and carve the monster you will almost never get all the pieces needed to make a set in a single hunt. Most desirable armor pieces require breaking a singular part multiple times because they only have a like 30% drop rate and the monster only has one of the parts. Rathian spikes are pretty notorious for being a mind numbing grind because there's no guaranteed way to get one
play anything decent at 4k OR 120fps
The games it will run at those settings are significantly more likely to be decent than the ones it won't
Only 10 million? Isn't that like less than half of World? Steam charts threads really are cancer. They would make you think it outsold World by 5x.
Like said above, the timegated event quests and other drip-feed shit is at best to maintain a minimum of interest from addicts, not to make a profit.
You don't have to shit out 10 bucks to access an event-quest or the spring-fest. If you weren't there then shit sucks for you, you either mod it in or wait when all of it will be permanently available just before the expac drops.
So why do people keep pushing the "Wilds showers you with everything you need" thing like they'll be murdered if they don't?
Ouch!
This. The gameplay is exactly like every other MH game, the characters are all trannies, and the story sucks just as hard as every other MH game's story.
Game got 60 hours out of me. With current updates know will hit the 80-100 mark which makes a dollar an hour entertainment more than worth it.
Probably since you don't have to grind decos as much to get the good ones.
Probably retards trying to get attention because they're mad that monster hunter is a baby series for bugman retards with a lot of time to waste
Weird that they're only doing it with Wilds if the entire franchise is for baby bugman retards.
Has capcom ever made a game with a narrative that wasn't terrible? I dont know why they even try.
>story sucks just as hard
Demonstrates that Capcom employees lack the skills necessary to write a compelling story.
imagine a mentally retarded aspie in a basement addicted to his goystation and he only plays capcom and fromsoft games and his entire identity is build around how good he is at rollslop and bonking monster heads for 5000 hours.
He wouldn't want a bunch of newfags posting about how a game that looks like it was made with actual turds and is blatantly unfinished to be what he is associated with. So instead they just fill the threads with "gorsh this is the easiest game yet hyuck, bunch of posers, lol" when all the games are the same
MHWilds replayability is terrible, the monsters are too easy and die way to quick, and the mat grind is almost non-existent because they made the monsters to drop way too much loot + you dont have to grind gems anymore because all you have to do is to save an investigation that has a guaranteed gem drop.
I genuinely couldnt even come back to play the TU1 because i simply have no desire to come back to the game.
I might come back once Capcom finishes the content dripfeeding to prepare for the master rank expansion.
the monsters are too easy and die way to quick
How should they make them harder to challenge the veterans of the franchise who have been roflstomping monsters for over a decade?
raise their defense modifier so they don't die in 5 minutes
So turn them into tedious half-hour slogs where you barely do any damage to them while avoiding everything they do.
Nta but I feel a buff to monster's health and defence would do wonders.
An additional buff to tempered's attack and speed would be nice too imo.
Unironically yes
World is selling more because it's cheaper and more people can run it on PC.
make them take forever to die while they do the same attacks but at double the speed
That not difficulty, that's tediousness.
Raise their defense and nerf the wounds mechanic. The wounds spawn way too often and a good player can keep the monster stun-locked for most of the fight.
Game sucks ass. Sales carried entirely by World hype.
People say the wound/Focus Attack mechanic can do this but I can break every wound on a monster and only maybe three of them actually topple the monster, the rest just make them slightly flinch and they're right back to attacking.
it wouldnt be tedious if they removed the tent restocking.
Classic MH required the hunter to play efficiently because the monsters lasted longe, hit harder and you couldnt restock the consumables infinitely.
Gunners for example shouldnt miss too many shots and focus on the monsters weakspots or they would run out of ammo. Classic MH rewarded efficiency, MHWilds is just dodge/counter slop and you can pretty much chug consumables infinitely.
Zelda
story faggotry
No, it's actually been the opposite case if we're going by the recent open-world slop titles.
3 stuns are more than enough to keep the monster stunned for half of the hunt. 95 % of the monsters die way too quick.
You're right, just spamming focus strike on wounds until the monster drops dead without learning its pattern is better.
Cope Capcum bitch
steam charts
lol
I'm having an absolute blast.
I would say Wilds was an RE5 moment for the franchise than an RE6 moment. Its success signified the IP was bigger than ever before with normies, but we're seeing a lot of early pitfalls and red flags being installed that will likely be catastrophic for the next entry or two down the line.
The next game needs to completely shit the bed with the core gameplay formula to be a RE6 moment and yeah, sadly that isn't too far off.
the most popular MH platform doesn't matter.....because I say so
stop posting anytime bitchtits
sodomites burn in the lake of fire
Baaaased
Monster hunter wilds currently has 21k people online
Skyrim legendary edition is over 30k
Oblivion remastered is at 44k
It's sandwiched between Warhammer total war 3 and CP77
Actually Skyrim Legendary edition is currently over Elden Ring.
Wrong, tendie. Player base is high across all platforms and I can honestly say that I've been playing nearly every single day since release. If you don't like this game, then you don't like fun.
Feb 28th to March 31st
10 million
April 1st to May 13th
100k
This is actually awful, like holy shit.
What does chicken have to do with monster hunter?
It's 10.1mil sales as of the end of Q1 so March 31st, we don't know the sales since then.
make a terrible game
eight million chinese buy it anyway
It’s RE6 tier
This isn't a Nintendo game, why is everyone so angry at it?
Who’s angry?
Nobody, I guess, everything shitting on it in a happy little girl way.
Use one of your 4 disengage 120 iframe moves to get out when he lowers his head to breath fire on top of you.
nah
What did he do to Gore?
Incredible things. Terrible things.
I can't fucking believe how bad Wilds was. It was by far my most anticipated game for 2025 and it's fucking dogshit.
I can’t believe it either people say hurdur the signs were there with dd2 but wilds is worse than dd2 by a severe magnitude
It's around the same amount I'd say. There was shit like the HH buff and water strike that people don't remember.
LS was so counter dependent that it lost damage when the monster was toppled, something that's not the case now.
Gonna do anything about it instead of crying like a bitchbaby for us?
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO WORLD BABIES WERE SUPPOSED TO WIN NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Say it with me folks
GAME OF THE YEAR
game sells better than ever
playerbase dies faster than ever
wilds haters biggest criticism is that a mentally ill five year old said something dumb once
GAME OF THE YEAR UBISHILLS BTFO
I love how badly this game raped Anon Babble with it's record breaking success.
Nobody here deserves good games but they get them anyway kicking and screaming the whole way.
the mount killed any "hunting" part of the game
Don't use it.
Classic MH required the hunter to play efficiently because the monsters lasted longe, hit harder and you couldnt restock the consumables infinitely.
I see this complaint all the time and I'm assuming it's the same people every time too but like, why would you even care about this? If you ran out of consumables in the old games you were just fucking terrible and it's the same in the new ones, it doesn't even affect you unless you're just absolutely awful.
The jap market is dead. The western market is dead.
The only people buying this are the chinese, and how much is a chinese sale worth compared to an American or Japanese or Western European one?
Le record breaking by…losing to the other previous games in the series
They got 10 million people to FOMO buy a game they are trying to sell microtransactions for and 95% have already bailed. This is what all video games will be in the near future. Every major game released this hear so far is already abandoned after a month or two.
This is a bot.
MH Wilds is 10x better than base world ever was on the simple fact that there aren't ledges and slopes everywhere to make every fight as annoying as possible.
Things no one has ever said
It's immediately noticeable by playing the game for longer than 20 minutes, cope and seethe seanigger.
this thing is bad!
don't use it
BOT BOT BOT BOT BOT!!!!!
complains about mounting that has been in the series for over a decade.
Did you fight AT Rey Dau in his nest and on the dunes?
retard thinks the word mount refers to mounting
Learn english
Like half of wilds is one giant dune with slopes everywhere
Actual nolife nigger still being here since the start of the thread.
You don't have to be the same person to call out your poor grasp of english. You really are a retarded nigger.
Most ledges/slopes in wilds are easily recognizable, unlike in World where any slight inclination would send you sliding.
Guiding Lands was aids with this.
Noooooo
What a fucking retard
Ichinose is literally the only person left that can make a monster hunter video game and not a monster hunter movie. If they don't force him to focus on story for his next game that is, but he probably has too much seniority for them to do that.
This. The "B" team was the real A team all along.
Why are we shitting our dicks off in frothing rage over the story?
Game was undercooked slop. Rise was better, World was better, go play Generations Ultimate instead.
Simple
like that hunts aren't 10+mins
hate open world
hate monster cock sleeve child
hate chargeblade changes
hate the over fixation on graphics
hate the monsters (still to much dwagon and dynoswar) not enough monster
In summary, I hate it
No, I dont find it fun to handicap myself to be challenged playing a video game and if the devs expect the players to do it and design the game around that, its just bad/lazy game design.
doesn't topple when you knock it out of the ground
roar needs earplugs
I can't believe Rise saved this shitmon
You and me both bud, we got absolutely played.
It's actually quite shocking for me, I basically only buy 2-3 full price releases per year only and I can usually sniff out any potential bullshit from a mile away. But this got me completely by surprise, not to mention that the finaly game actually RAN WORSE THAN THE BENCHMARK.
Nobody:
Mentally ill trannies:
So you hate it but you think you'll be crippled by not using it so you force yourself to use it despite not needing to use it.
not to mention that the finaly game actually RAN WORSE THAN THE BENCHMARK.
Literally everybody fucking warned you, benchmark wasn’t running denuvo on top of benchmarks universally presenting themselves slightly favorable to the actual product (hence the damn legal warning they always give)
FPS too easy? stop shooting!
RPG too easy? stop using party members!
ignore how much we've raged and cried about wilds' story or else you're a tranny fanny nanny!
Who is we?
Dope. Can't wait to maybe try it in a year or 2
You don't understand it mate, I have a 4070Ti with a 9800x3d. I had 100+ FPS on highest in the benchmark.
Full game I'm barely hitting 60FPS after first zone with DLLS ON. Quite literally almost a 50% FPS loss compared to the benchmark. I couldn't believe my fucking eyes.
It’s a cpu bottlenecked game because japs can’t code for shit
You aren't as good at sniffing stuff out as you think you are. I've been playing Monster Hunter since the original PS2 release, I fucking LOVE the series, but I skipped Wilds specifically because of how obvious all the performance redflags were.
Even aside from the shit beta and no denuvo on the "updated" benchmark, even the benchmark on its face was deceptive, it crunched a tiny sliver of "gameplay"(with no monster fighting) between 2 cutscene sections to try and bolster performance ratings. It's never been more obvious to me that a game was going to perform like shit than with Wilds, and I DESPERATELY wanted to be wrong.
Its just not fun to not use everything i have at my disposal. I've never liked handicapping myself while playing a game like dark souls SL1 playthroughs.
Anon Babble told me it flopped though
I've never seen anyone bitch about the story at all outside of calling it boring or lame, which is the norm for all Mh games. It's not a series known for its story, you are yelling at clouds
meta jewels drop incredibly frequent
most offensive decorations can ONLY be placed on weapons limiting RNG aids
artian rolls are only hell if you want a faggy element while rawGAWDS can get 4x attack 1x sharp rolls within a few attempts topps
no excess of homosexual gathering quests anymore
Wow it's almost as if wilds let's you PLAY THE GAME
i've never seen anyone complain about it outside of the people who complain about it
Why do Anon Babbleirgins ALWAYS try to rewrite history?
I skipped it but from what I've seen it has little staying power. It's got the sales numbers, but no one I know who did buy it is still playing it. Gotta wait til the expansion drops to know for sure if it'll be like Rise where people just start going back to older titles or if it will bolster itself somehow and maintain its audience. Performance problems really aren't helping it either.
Again. No one sings Monster Hunters story praises basically ever. They have some decent environmental story telling, but no one is ever really into the basic, generic stories they tell with the games. That is not the same as bitching about the story. Stop yelling at clouds
Not even out for 3 months yet and more than 98 percent of the player base is gone, and you think that's good?
True but sales are sales, this isn't a live service subscription title. Will be interesting to see what the sales numbers for the expac will be, since it will show how many people just sorta ran out of shit to do and got bored and how many people were actually over the game and stopped because they didn't like it.
Indeed, 95% of all games ever made are horrendous failures, because if they weren't why would anyone stop playing them.
Cool maybe now they can fix lost planet 2.
If the previous games in the series held onto their audiences for longer than the newest, then that says something about the newest.
this isn't a live service subscription title
Someone should have told Capcom that
Performance is the main drawback, it is a insanely badly optimized game.
No one can even use the optional highest settings because no matter how good your rig is it will always cause stuttering, unless you have a 5090 lmao.
cherrypicks the lowest point in the day during the middle of the week
You can't be serious.
I wasn't aware I was paying a monthly fee to play Wilds.
Lol, I bought lost planet 3 for like 5 bucks hoping for some cool Lost planet nostalgia and was PISSED when I found out what it was.
The fuck do you mean retard? No one is paying monthly to play the game, you bought it and you played it how ever much you wanted to. I'm not saying it's not a fast fall off for a MH game, just that in terms of fiscal success it doesn't matter at all. The sales were made, try to keep up sport, this isn't complicated stuff
My bad faggot
97.9 percent of players dropped this dogshit game
Yeah it was crazy when I saw the framerates a friend was getting on because he has a pretty beefy computer and was only playing it at 1080p. I was super sad to skip wilds but I just couldn't do it. Still have a bit of hope that they might make some improvements over the next couple years
Consoles. PS5 is the target platform.
Currently have a Ryzen 5 3600X and I'm on a budget, how much better would a Ryzen 7 5800X handle the game?
