I think the last couple of playthroughs I just played as a Telvanni retainers (of my Telvanni magelord) with enchanted shit but no actual magic abilities doing other guilds to "infiltrate" them

I played for over 200 hours so far and I haven't joined any great house even once. I usually only ever join mages or fighers guild. I just joined the Imperial Legion in my latest playthrough. Maybe later on I'll join Redoran or Hlaalu

Yeah, pretty much everything becomes absurd in the end game. I guess theoretically destruction mages should be the strongest by a hair because they have convenient access to pretty much all of the damage types and are able to quickly adjust if an enemies have niche resistances. But in practice it's whatever. Like on one character I had a daedric axe enchanted to release mile wide clouds of Calming smoke every time I swung. I was able to kill king Helseth in front of his royal guard without them freaking out lmao.
