What's the last game you played where you had to keep notes on paper to understand what the hell is going on?

Tibia

Pong

I kept some notes for Blue Prince but it was a complete piece of shit waste of time game.

I saw fanart of this character before and for the longest time I thought it was Misery from Cave Story.
Still haven't played it though.

Signalis, makes it much easier specially for the math puzzles

Call Of Duty Black Ops 6. Both the campaign and zombies had puzzles that required taking notes

My last playthrough of Morrowind with all the Tamriel Rebuilt stuff. Skyrim, Anvil, etc. After a while, the journal becomes borderline worthless since it gets so bloated with unrelated trash, so
I used a mod that would let me edit my journal as well as one that lets me write notes on paper.

Didn't like the Void Stranger 'screenshot everything' thing. Just seemed like busywork.

Myst

La-Mulana 2. Felt like Indiana Jones solving shit until I hit a wall.

The game is so low res that you can easily fit everything of note in a small area though. And if you miss anything, it's really not that hard to go back and re-check it later.

i wrote ZANZIBART on fucking paint with mouse and proceed to watch 40 mins videos on youtube about zanzibart lore

bioshock

I usually keep notes in a txt file while playing RPGs, even if they aren't necessary. Ultima 7 crashes when alt tabbing to notepad so I kept notes in a notebook

Can't remember anymore, I don't put up with bad game design anymore

It’s not bad game design

It makes the game more interactive

Daggerfall. If you are doing main quest you are gonna need some notes to remember all the family trees of all the nobles and which ones are trying to screw you over.
Also sometimes critical quest information is not recorder in your journal.

Lingo and Animal Well.

Legend of Grimrock II

Some porn games make me write notes

la mulana 2

Factorio

I drew the whole map of Knight Lore to finish it, and I did, and it felt super good. I played the free remaster

There’s no fucking game that makes you write THAT much

I started to for Hypnospace Outlaw but realized I probably didn't need to. I should get back to that though.

wiki game

Fez I'll never forgive that sensitive fuck for cancelling Fez 2 btw, the first game is fucking fantastic

Fuckin tell me about it. I've two letters and two sanctum keys and I have no fucking clue where to go from here.

The Chef's Shift caught me off guard with its many characters to keep track of in a soap-opera-like intrigue. Kind of emotionally heavy stuff too despite the cutesy graphics, though the ending was kind of bleh.

paper

I use notepad++ and paint.net instead because I'm not a boomer

The note in the Room 46 tells you where the sanctum keys are.

Cosmobreeder Yiffai

he has to switch between multiple tools to draw a basic decision tree

ngmi

meant for sorrymasen

Football manager. Mostly scouting notes.

Gloomhaven, on TTS, so it's a videogame.
I'm not sure if you need to write things down in the actual videogame version.

Black Souls 2
