I think the saxophone works (very wild and adventurous), but you should probably add something in the first half anyway to suggest there's anything to listen to in the last half.

It's not the worst track I've ever heard but "store theme" is the most ridiculously braindead shit. Name the track "Bad Trip" and have it play during a scene where an alien rapes you to death and it maybe works. The almost 2.5 minutes of ambience in a 3.5 minute track was ambitious. Shorten that segment to about 20 seconds and have the part where the guitar riff keeps descending come to a natural conclusion about 7 bars earlier with a transition into another idea.

I use FL studio because it was a lifetime purchase with free updates instead of a subscription or whatever. It's also pretty cheap as far as DAWs go, not as cheap as reaper, which is not free but not free in the way that winrar is not free. I may switch to cubase at some point, but that's another story. FL studio is low commitment purchase if you are a first worlder but I have my gripes with it.
DAWs can both play and manipulate audio, like recorded instruments being played in to them and sounds recorded specifically for the purpose of being manipulated by music software, as well as use MIDI, which is essentially how music software understands music. MIDI has no sound, it tells a software instrument (like a digital synthesizer or a multi sampled instrument) what notes to play, for how long, how hard etc. This means you can write midi and then change what instrument the data is being sent to. Most DAWs should come with built in software synths and you can get loads of great ones online that run as plugins in your DAW.
Anyway get a free trial of something and have fun. Fun things are fun. A cheap midi keyboard (like a little piano not qwerty) can go a long way to helping you understand how to make music even if you can't use the damn thing to actually play anything in live, consider picking one up especially one with a mod wheel and some knobs if you are making electronic music and want to expand your horizons.

Based and helpful, honestly. FL Studio's been my go-to too, feels really intuitive once you get your head around the piano roll and mixer routing. Also seconding the MIDI keyboard advice – even a cheap one like the Alesis V25 or Akai MPK Mini opens up so much more expression, and having knobs to map to synth parameters is a game-changer. If you're making weird or experimental stuff, look into free VSTs like Vital or Surge XT, you can get pretty deep before spending a dime.

Doesn't sound BAD, but it plays more like cutscene music. If you want it to be more battle-like, make a stronger emphasis on drums, then you'd need the music to kick up a little bit as well.
Shut the fuck up and make music. This is good overworld music, too. The guitar really nails the sound. Make it into a full piece and then you can call yourself a "musician".

Well you have the right idea... but it's definitely off, pretty amateur. I'd suggest going back to the theme you're trying to rip off and understand why it works the way it does. Just a little heads up: every musician who's actually good KNOWS music theory, regardless of if they studied it properly or not. There's music "theory" and "music" theory. The latter is what most non-theorists rely on. So listen to more music.
Personally, I would space out the stringed instrument more to play up the creepy atmosphere. If it's melodic, it can sound more like a pass at being a cheesy, creepy lullaby. Sounds more like a samurai theme instead.

This is too simplistic. I'd suggest redoing it from scratch. Take the very first few notes and then make a melody instead of having it follow the bass.
