For last of us 2, the girl is grown, but still appealing to look at in a "realistic" way, they don't really succeed at making her look the part of a post-apocalyptic survivor with how short/thin she is, but her descent/self-destruction is relatively linear and "makes sense", and that's just BARELY enough to keep the last of us 2 story from falling apart in that regard, but for the TV show? You literally missed the point by casting some genetic freak.

Ellie was already kind of dumb and annoying in the 1st game, but she made it up to it by being down-to-earth and being cute-looking, when those 2 are gone and you're left with some genetic abomination making faces at everyone acting like she's better than everyone else you've basicaly comitted the worst casting decision of recent years.
