Ikaruga is some actual competition, but still has much to learn compared to one who has tried to be a mother figure to her siblings. Still, a respectable choice nonetheless.

I think they both exhibit their own brand of beauty. Yozakura's aesthetic is not as conventional as Ikaruga's but in demeanor she is basically the perfect wife as she is. Ikaruga's a princess that's still putting it all together but she'll get there.

I gotta ask because I don't often post in Senran threads: what is the appeal of Ikaruga? For me she's one of the more generic girls

God it's so jarring how different their characterizations are from Burst to EV/PBS.

She is one of the most generic girls in the series. Her whole personality is “I’m the oldest and it my job to watch over the younger girls” and “my brother hate me because I’m adopted and Yomi hates me because I’m rich”. She’s just some boring non-character that the fanbase here sucks off to be contrarian along with Mirai.

Ikaruga is undeniably beautiful. Mirai had a hell of a rough start but does become more of a character as the games get worse.

She has the most plain design in the series on top of having zero personality. Meanwhile Mirai is just the comic relief punching bag of the series.

Reserved =/= zero personality. And Mirai's definitely the punching bag in Burst, but as she gets characters like Murakumo and Murasaki to work with, she's not quite as one note.

Yozakura Is too serious.
The one remaining quality Yumi has is how gullible and corruptible she can be.

Burst. Either the 3DS game or the PS4 remake. It sets up the world and introduces the characters.

3DS games if you have one, Shinovi Versus or Burst Renewal if you don't.

They're okay, like 5-6 out of 10 brawlers. Nothing spectacular, but they're charming.

She is very beautiful, elegant and dignified. She is kind, respectful, attentive, polite and caring but feels the need to hide behind a facade in order to fullfill the expectations she's been burdened with. As others pointed out she is pretty much just a generic yamato nadeshiko in many ways, but at the same time also very different. I watched the show before playing the games and when I started with burst I struggled with remembering who she actually was based on the show because of how insignificant and boring she seemed, but over time Ikaruga grew on me like none on the other girls

In general, sure. But she quite literally is a dignified rich girl. Yomi assigns stigmas to that left and right, but that is literally her background.

Murakumo is the best Gessen. She absolutely destroys Shiki in both looks and personality.

I wish she had a kitsune mask instead. That way she would still have a vulpine mysterious sex appeal to her as opposed to the off putting hannya mask (which I understand from a characterization and thematic reason for it)
