It's (GF2) a bad game. It falls into the pitfalls of damage damage damage, everything is in service of doing more damage and pushing forward faster to clear the maps quicker and easier. Everything boils down to rolling for the newer units because they're better at this idea of doing damage faster in a more convenient way. There's zero actual strategy to anything there.
They're also banking on useless vanity features like the dorm system, which showcases their pretty models but does otherwise nothing to actually make the gameplay better while taking all this extra dev time to develop.
that's every gacha game tho
There are some brainy or otherwise challenging gacha games out there if you know where to look. 2 is not one of them. It's boring.

I doubt you actually care however for 2 I lost the will to care to log in after Klukai released. The most fun I had in that game was the first few months building up my characters and overcoming hard shit.
Near release people memed the entire game was just pushing the auto button and I disagreed back then. After Klukai I very much agree and don't give a shit to log in daily just to hit the auto button on everything, also to find doing gunsmoke manually fun I assume you have be mentally ill.

No content. Every time a new event comes out it's level 20 content and all of us are level 60 by now.

2 feels too much like work
like there are five menus you have to go through just to select all the free rewards you get each day and they take forever to load
there are also like twice as many resources than in GF1 and I have almost no idea what a third of them do
Also I am not incentivized to use other dolls than my favourites on the battlefield unlike in 1 because they all level up at the same time
the combat and missions aren't quite as xcomlike or even as bakery girl as I would have liked; it all just boils down to choosing one of three magical attacks each turn to wipe shit out with position and cover playing such a minor role it might as well not even be there,
Weapons felt a little bit more grounded in 1 where you had incendiary, smoke, explosive, AP, etc it was at least all guns or military themed and now its all corrosion damage and frost damage and even though its mechanically similar it doesn't help motivate me to play it either
the story is still alright; I'm happy to see where King Chong wanted to take it, and its all pretty good.
However! I am still going to kvetch about this: as a 416 fag I am definitely feel a little bit too closely fanserviced, by the recent event and it feels like cynical move by the writing team rather than a cool and interesting, or even natural place to take her character.
Speaking of fanservice, though, I do like the new dorms. I think everyone does.
I really wished GF2 turned out to be a better, more conventional game than 1, so that more people would experience Asian Kojima's wild ride but it truly the worse thing Mica has put out even worse than PNC. it is simply a fucking chore to play.
