no, and this isn't a bad idea. forces players to stay engaged with a game to the end rather than playing the first half and then getting sidetracked by another FOTM FOMO game. as long as you can relearn the abilities/info, it would be cool. nothing is fully lost, but you don't retain everything. there is always room to grow, even if you are maxed out. muscles atrophy, your motor skills deteriorate, your brain fogs over. nothing is permanent, entropy comes for us all.

I think a better idea would be a full commitment to your character very slowly learning abilities. By the end of the game you're not much better equipped and you're just introduced into basic magic. Then a cock tease at the end with a small section with a decked out different character.

Sounds funny but it would probably only have real effect if the game was able to force you to take a real break between sessions playing the game. Alternatively it is some sort of weird version of Sims where your character does not-Sims shit, and the longer your breaks between playing the game the more disheveled and disorganized the actions and life of your character becomes.

Games already use systems like that to force people to stay engaged with the game. Two recent ones I can remember are V Rising and your castle degrading when your away and The Forever Winter having resources slowly degrading (though they might have patched that out after enough complaints, idk).
Even Metal Gear Survive had something similar where your home base degrades and gets attacked... fuck now I think about it this has been a thing for decades with some of those city building survival browser games.
