Why did she do it? What a narcissistic cunt.
Why did she do it? What a narcissistic cunt
Versofags still fighting against happiness.
No one looks happy in Maelle's clown world.
Let this B&W sequence forever show that Maellefags lost and their ending flopped
they're just paintings bro
why should she care about his hesitation
You need to think about it logically.
Truth it, the game was just kinda lame and homosexual.

The shilling for this game is beyond overt by now. I don't know if this is your first shill campaign or not, but when you push and push and push, eventually people catch on and turn on your game. You made your money, cool it down.
Nobody won. Both endings are terrible and depressing. Same energy as those misery porn cuck games.
If you could grow old, would you... find a reason to smile?
So she made him older, and the bastard still doesn't smile, and she's heartbroken by this fact.
they're just ai
then his sadness in the ending doesn't matter
they're sapient and have emotions
then the one who tried to kill them all is enduring norwegian-level incarceration after his antics
Her happiness is more important than her (fake) brother's wishes of death, and the death of her actual mother and father. She's the most important person in the world.

Maelle's ending box office: NEGATIVE 50 million american USD
Versochad's ending box office: 2.1 BILLION american USD profit with 3 adaptations already coming
Verso specifically asked to be unpainted, yet she brought him back.
So everyone in that world deserves to die?
And she specifically asked not to be kicked out of the world and he was going to do it. What is your point? That they are selfishly trying to impose on the other? Yes?
Maybe he should have thought of that before making her relieve the loss of IRL Verso in the flesh all over by getting Gustave killed for convenience.
If the upcoming movie is this exact story and not a spin-off about a different expedition or w/e, then they're definitely going with Maelle's ending as it's just a lot more interesting and thought provoking, despite ultimately being a "downer" ending.
seething tendie/weebfag
Hopefully we never get a film. It is stupid.
They would have to change it dramatically even if they don't.
Grown man beating the shit out of teenage girl as she pleads for him not to erase the people she loves and cripple her
Yeah that... Does not translate to succesful movie ratings.
maelle a cute
grown man saves teenage girl's life
ftfy
Verso stabbing Maelle constantly while screaming he is doing it for her own good and she will thank him later
Absolutely hilarious thought
Grown man dismisses the wishes of girl, proceeds to mansplain she cannot be trusted "just like her mother" while quoting abusive father she just gave her all to overcome
Sorry man, never gonna happen. Not 1:1, just can't.
maelle's ending wins an oscar
verso's ending wins a kid's choice award
If you really think about it, Maelle's ending actually has no downsides
option 1: she fixes the fracture and goes home, everyone happy
option 2: she stays too long, grows weaker, Renoir comes back and btfo her, she's still fine
Verso's ending is the odd one as it doesn't give anyone any chances, just a complete destruction, it's the "I can't be fucked sorting your shit out" option, a lazy way out
You do realise the top 3 highest grossing films are Avatar, Avengers: Endgame and Avatar: The Way of Water, right?
I like her Dumbo ears.
option 2: she stays too long, grows weaker, Renoir comes back and btfo her, she's still fine
The boss battle itself answers that: Keeping the canvas prevents Aline from moving on, and she interfers to stop Renoir.
she's too addicted to coping for option 1 to ever happened. did you even listen to what she said about "living the lifetime she was supposed to have" with verso? I guess not, maellefags ignore everything to try to fit their cope (just like maelle does).
it's funny you mention renoir coming back to babysit her for option 2 though, it's like you can admit that renoir was right all along about mentally ill persons like aline and alicia who can't take care of themselves
Keeping the canvas is not what is keeping any of them from moving on. Being retards that screech at each other and force their opinions on the other is.
Renoir is shuffling the blame to an object when the blame is on them as people. That is the point.
Maelle forcing Verso to play the piano is exactly like how sometimes the god complex gets to my head and I force dream characters to do things they don't want to do in lucid dreams. It's a little immoral and it scares the crap out of characters when I kill them and tell the others that I'll resurrect when they behave, but there's nothing wrong with it, right?
~Douceur de l’âme
~Elle chante, souffle calme
They did my girl dirty in the Verso ending, that's all I need to know.
You're making it mutually exclusive. Grief being a people problem doesn't mean you should keep the source of addiction around. Renoir can't btfo Alicia because Aline will keep interfering to keep the canvas. You need to fight as Verso to help the family, there's no other way.
unironically and willingly with full self awareness using word "mansplain"
Jesus Christ I thought the tranny allegation was a schitzo babble but this one here seals the deal
I knew both endings going in and I still specifically picked the Maelle ending just to fuck over Verso. He's a liar and a cheat, I don't like him and I'm glad he has to suffer. You created the painting, now sleep in the bed you made faggot. Sucks to suck buddy
I'm so insane teehee
Option 2 is just Verso's ending with extra steps, except she'll be even more addicted to his canvas, making it harder for her to move on.
You are being a fatalist and that is what is going to make the problem keep perpetuating itself.
If the only way to keep your family together is by eliminating the sources of grief and conflict around you, then your family WILL break, and it will suffer all the way through. There IS another way, which is learning to reach out to one another. And if you can't do that, then you should simply let your family crumble, because it was already done before you began trying to bruteforce them into compliance.
Because it makes a better story and has better plot twists.
Again, you're making it mutually exclusive. Nowhere did I say that destroying the canvas will magically make them better. It doesn't mean that destroying the canvas is not neccessary. It's a crucial first step, and yes if no reaching out occurs later they won't heal, but it still must be done.
If Lucien was alive, he would have prevented this.
The painting is not the source of their grief, it's their unhealthy way to cope with grief. If a family member turns to the bottle because a loved one died you don't enable them, you try to keep them away from the booze.
daughter gives you this look asking for a favour
Admit it Anon Babble you would be under her complete control.
This fruity nigga?
That song is about Aline actually, it's how Renoir sees her. Fucking French people know how to be romantic.
Maelle's ending is definitely the canon ending because it starts just as it ends with a new Paintress, a bittersweet end and a new beginning.
Whereas Verso's ending deals with the plot threads that are randomly introduced in the third act
extremely rich white family
paints blackoids into their canvas
Even their lovers' spat that is una vie a t'aimer is romantic.
no stop loving me I want to be sad
no!
Why did Clea paint minority men?
You remind me when I saw a youtube comment claiming that Requiem for a Dream isn't anti-drugs
forcing Verso
HEADCANON. He volunteered :)
Unfortunately, yes. The people of that world matter just as much as any version of Verso does. I do feel for Maelle completely. The people of Lumiere are all victims too, just as much as Verso is. Aline should have never created them in Verso's painting. Verso did not create that suffering. Verso never wanted to be a painter. He never wanted any of that. Just because they suddenly exist doesn't mean you just have to keep Verso as a prisoner forever now. Verso did nothing wrong. His ending is a completely morally acceptable genocide even if it is tragic.
Being a serial liar really did bite him in the ass
Why can't I headpat this old man?
They can stop anytime :)
Get in the robot, ojisan. Ehehe
Kinda funny how Maelle used to be so fatalistic before she got red pilled and awakened as a paintress. But I guess that's true, if you were given an option to rez all your loved ones and force others to do your bidding, you'd also change. Power corrupts.
I loved Act I Maelle, really felt like a teenager. Act II is too sad for me, Act 3 is another character
she's a junkie now free from restraints.
Gets all her memories back
Ranks her time with Gustave higher than her time with all her painter family combined
How close were they?
They all died in the end of act 2. Everyone was already dead and Maelle brought them all back so she could continue to play pretend and overdose on paint fumes (copium)
Verso's ending = cliché 'good end'
Maelle's ending = kinographie
She didn't have her memories back then. BUT I still believe it was the subtle intention of the devs that she was in love with him. The prologue laid it on too thick.
she was born twice. their memories have equal value
I have no doubt I would act the same in her shoes, and I don't blame her motivations at all. People somehow think you must personally blame and condemn her if you don't pick her ending, but it's easy to pick Verso and still understand her.
offers to take care of him if sophie rejects him
i echo
higher than her time with all her painter family combined
Everything in her both lives falls below her time with verso.
Maelle's ending would have been better if she had resurrected everyone, fixed the world, and then eventually moved on. The world doesn't need a child who is also their deity. Even if she has good intentions, she would have to understand her existence makes their world inherently a dictatorship and controlled. She should only maintain the bare minimum and move on. There would still be the moral dilemma of using Verso's painting and his soul for this purpose, though.
Gustave is impossible not to love.
I know a lot of people on this site are pedos (or pretend for memes), but this is pretty clear and cut, he was her family
Absolutely. Verso's ending is the good and canon ending in my eyes. However, I originally picked the Maelle ending after a tug of war because I was huffing mad copium that everything would get better. I so badly wanted to pick the Verso ending because I knew it was right, but my heart in the moment would not let me pull the trigger. Verso did nothing wrong. Maelle's actions are completely understandable as well.
It's a conflicting choice.
Verso is forcefully saving the real families life by nuking his entire world. Everyone is dead except for the painters, but the painters have a chance to move on.
Maelle kicks the can down the road, this ending has potential to be THE good ending, but since Maelle has admin privileges so nobody can get her to get off her painting and take a shower thus dooming her, her family and the painting to some outside asshole.
Thus this is a potential worse ending since everyones fate is on route towards a bad direction ultimately.
If it was me in that world I would be on Maelle's side since there is a chance you can convince her to get off sniffing the brush and touch grass, whereas Verso is cut and dry.
Then it wouldn't have been her ending, because everything she does, it's because she needs to escape her guilt and only having a fake life with verso helps that.
a girl is talking to a boy, that must mean both of them want to fuck!
no really though its anon, probably just mentally a child
as are most drug addicts who seek instant gratification and maelle fags
I know people really offended about this stuff regarding minors. The devs knew it too.
They died because they were brutally betrayed and killed by paint Verso, lmao. Saying they didn't deserve to come back because they already got murdered is like getting your house robbed, taking your stuff back, then the thief saying "Why are you trying to get your stuff back bro it was gone, just get over it"
Maelle's ending would have been better if she had resurrected everyone, fixed the world, and then eventually moved on
Then it would've been just a generic happy ending, and we wouldn't have these threads.
If she rezzed everyone and fixed the world and left, that doesn't mean that the people who loved her wouldn't try and follow her. You can't cut love off like turning off a tap. Then they'll get old and then what? She attends their funeral.
Interesting. First time going in, I did not know their exact relationship and felt she was somewhat listless regarding Gustave and Sophie briefly rekindling. Like she was supportive, but slightly jealous. But I re-evaluated that with context of their adoptive family relationship and figured I was reading too much into it. Only reading these posts am I now being reminded of that.
I don't think it's the case personally, but the I would have been led to believe it without further context. Also wouldn't shock me much of it actually was intentional, though.
I should elaborate that I think Maelle's ending is well done and the direction they went with it was a solid choice. I don't necessarily want it changed. Just more of an idea of how a third ending could have gone that wouldn't have been as tragic. In a perfect world that can never be.
That's the obvious good ending but it would be a lesser game for it. Having two endings that are both very tragic, but with silver linings, means the game asks much more interesting questions that will be discussed for years to come.
because they were brutally betrayed and killed by paint Verso, lmao.
Not really.
He does speed it up, but they were dead anyway. If he has done nothing then they wipe out at the beach and the couple survivors never get to the monolith.
And then it's just back to waiting like 20 years until Renoir wins.
that said, because maelle was closest to being at fault for the entire debacle, she has all the right to make it right if she wants to come out of it a better person, and a healthier one mentally
Renoir wanted to set things right because its what he felt he needed to do, but alicia would have had a void if she was not the one to take responsibility and handle that shit herself
i killed a pedestrian after drunk driving
i will now start drinking even more heavily to cope with the guilt
dont try to stop me its my problem i should decide how to deal with it
no white stripe in his hair
oh fuck she believed me
I love this retard like you wouldn't believe bros
aline and maelle says yes to canvas
renoir says no
clea and verso abstain
the ayes have it
And this is why the father as the head of the household is better than democracy
What's the name of the OST song for the common random battle theme in Sirene?
It begins like Rouge d'Iris but without the singing parts
Verso would obviously say Yes to Canvas he just can't help himself but lie
This. This right here is why so many people pick Maelle at the end. Verso's dumbass could not stop lying just fucking once. He just plays along without actually admitting he is miserable.
It makes it extremely unfortunate that one of the few times he is right is at the end.
M-my lies have... CONSEQUENCES!?
As the person who made the image, I laughed my ass off IRL saying "I love this fucking clown." kek
Subtle. Maelle get off the painting
Simon offers his sword to Verso after being beaten
The meaning is clear 'Take my sword and do what I couldn't finish. Free Clea and save the world.'
Then Verso...
It's complicated. I think the people of Lumiere do truly matter, but it's extremely difficult to make a correct choice with the state the painting ended up in. I believe destroying the painting was the correct moral choice overall. But I understand the desire for the Maelle ending very strongly as well. There's no method of making everyone happy. Someone gets fucked over no matter what.
kek
Verso had it coming, the two headed snake.
Says "nice sword"
does reasonable Verso things
is there any significance to the painted renoir suit being real verso's clothing in the family portrait?
This calls for an expedition of the painted people to try and travel out of the painting.
Aline had a bit of that Ol' Oedipus going, she wanted a male figure in her life that became a mix of her husband and son
They aren't real. Deleting an AI chat bot isn't killing a real person, Monoco's bond commus about Gestral rebirth are there to drag this point home that they aren't even the same beings when they are revived.
How would that even be possible unless handwaved with magic?
inb4 Gustave could make it happen
It's interesting that both pVerso and pAlicia wished to be unpainted, but Maelle only granted one of these wishes.
We Lost
They are real and they matter
They aren't real but they matter
They aren't real so they don't matter
They are real and I don't care
Which category have you picked?
just repaint expedition 60/simon and give them access to gustave's converter and you'll have the same effect
muh AI chatbot
Gestrals were made by kid Verso as childish creatures, their "natural" reincarnation erases their memory. Lumierians are brought back as they were, with the same chroma and memories.
Alicia only caring about what she wants certainly tracks.
what a dog shit story when the big reveal is that the world is basically a simulation and you don't have one of the main story themes being about mortality and what is a life worth living, like i get it's an oversaturated genre with the million is AI people works but idk this shit is just terrible
Painted Alicia represents everything Alicia hates about herself in the real world, meanwhile real Verso's death is something she's guilty about and can't get over, so she wishes to cope by spending a lifetime with his painted copy.
wait no, you bitch, I meant take me out of the painting into the real world nooooooooo Verso save meeeeeeee
What did Painted Alicia mean by this?
why are their heads so big???
I didn't after Monoco one shot Simonkek with a huge bell dealing 100M+ dmg while shouting BOWOWOW
the painters and the painted aren't real and are a video game, so i, being the highest dimension of the group and therefore right by default, choose lune feet
Monoco's bond commus about Gestral rebirth are there to drag this point home that they aren't even the same beings when they are revived.
Not sure how many people missed this one bit, but during the IRL Paris segment there are two dogs napping by the fireplace, IIRC Monoco III and Noco. Basically, the family would always get 2 dogs, name one Monoco and the other Noco, and when one dies, they would just get a new one but name it the same, so that's why Monoco says "Noco raised me". It's how real Verso came up with this cycle of rebirth for gestrals.
thinking Alicia would allow any competition after she revives Gustave and clones him for a 6+ Big Gustave Dick harem constantly following her
Painters, Writers, kneel before the Developer.
Developers kneel before the Player.
Players kneel before the Modder.
I guess slightly more "They aren't real but they matter" than mot caring, but ultimately real people (Aline, Clea, & Renoir) matter more than (in universe) fictional people. Alicia needs to stop being a cunt and think about her real family instead of being selfish.
Proompters destroyed the balance and only Architects survived the new Fracture
They aren't real and I don't care
Reminder that Renoir's baguette is canonically so fucking good that Aline's choice for her perfect dream husband in her utopia was just Renoir with new clothes.
Billionaire son writes story about how sacrificing a million commoners is justified to save 2 elites
Real life commoners call it a good ending
They’re actually right to call you cattle
verso does seem like the type to invite people to a recital then decide not to perform unless forced
How did you one shot if that attack is gradient 3? I couldn't one shot him with stendhal, which was averaging around 35m for me on first turn crit.
how can i make this about class conflict
Marxoids are mentally ill.
They are real and I don't care.
Proof they have billions of dollars?
Who’s to say that we are “real” ourselves? The people of Lumiere are sentient and capable of feeling human emotions on a wide variety of spectrum, unlike AI chatbots. What defines someone’s realness?
send me to my family
her mom is fighting the sedatives stoppign her from getting back in
sister is stuck in the flying manor making gestrals because the real one found it funny
Dad is the only real casualty
I know it implies she doesn't like pVestro because he "nuked" the senpai but he only killed papa, everyone else is fixable.
Allicias are just so damn dramatic doesn't matter if they're real or not.
I'm partial to this one, personally. Also a dedicated Clea simp in case that's relevant.
What if the Dessendre's reality is actually just a painting akin to the one Lune requested of Maelle?
Both interpretations work well, I believe. The family vision is ultimately what prevails, but things don't exist in a vacuum; as i said before, people get really offended when you tackle romantic stuff regarding minors even though they're dating all too often, so it's a problem to talk these things in the open. It can really sour a story for some people. And come on, frenchies are known for their romanticism. We will never know if there was anything intention for that interpretation, but personally I believe there was a little bit of it.
Aren't real and they matter.
But the human ones were mostly dead and every other painted being really didn't care much.
And because they matter their essence shouldn't be fucked around by a teenager on a power trip.
Painted Alicia never really got over that expedition capturing and torturing her
There are major narrative problems with this story even if it's well-presented.
Good shabbos
You most likely didn't have Breaking Death + Verso or whatever auto stunning him & applying Defenceless first and leaving Mark for Maelle
The 3rd Gradient skills are overkill, for Monoco for example you can also do 45M+ damage with Creation Void, Duelist Storm or Sakapatate Fire if he has all damage boosters & Stay Marked
Also Sciel for 2x damage
As far as Gradient, with all the Charging passives especially Charging Stun & Charging Attack on Verso you can get 3 Gradient before Monoco or whoever else you want acts
I DID IT
Being Francois is suffering.
She removed his immortality, so it's up to him.
It only started being sad when Verso killed the vibe. This is honestly a good message to keep your depressing shit to yourself.
Renoir spending 67 years in the painting is suffering
I'm not immortal
maybe I can finally di-
*cling*
what was I thinking about? Piano?
Francois is just Anon Babble.
Being able to spend near immortality in whatever paradise you want must SUCK ;__;
I was really convinced by the Verso ending too but then I replayed the game and something stroke me.
In Verso's ending, Gustave is not waving at Alicia, but beckoning her.
The man that she cared for most as Maelle is calling her over. To join him in death. That's like the opposite of a hopeful ending. Maelle ends up the litteral parallel to painted Verso in hers. Trapped in a life she doesn't want wishing she could die.
There is fairly high chance Maelle will kill herself in the future and is strongly hinted by the writers.
Why would she remove his immortality if she wants to see him grow old?
the schizo woke up
headcanon
tfw no loli Clea
Come on anon, it's understandable.
Schizo kino
btw speaking of outfits, redditors just found a glitch letting you get all 3 versions of Clea's outfit in one playthrough, do this before the devs patch it
old.reddit.com
person you care about most never visits and thinks nothing of wiping you away
It does when your literal god who used to spend time with you and sing for you and probably made you addicted to her just fucking leaves and ignores you forever, while all you have now is some fat lobotomized retard shouting about rocks as your neighbor... for eternity
Anyone notice the map has a big empty spot on the left?
Anon, this is Alicia.
Sorry, I must have headcanoned the part in her ending where Verso doesn't want to play, the chroma sound plays, maelle shows her paintress eyes and then he starts playing.
Must be my imagination again.
expedition capturing and torturing her
Must've been the hidden ones.
May be related to 60 the muscle expo that dicked through gommage walls through sheer force of squats and would've won if they just hired people younger than 60.
Oh sorry I read that as Renoir, oops
I stopped using Sciel as soon as Monoco joined. I used luminas where I started inverted and half health, but I guess I should've just went full measure and used the one where everyone starts at 1 hp since I also had free shields. I'm glad Monoco can be as broken as Maelle. I don't know why people say he's bad when he's a based foot fetishist who has way more utility than all the other people.
I liked the Maelle's ending a lot but I am still confused with the whole "infinite piano" talk, I assume it's more allegorical and it was just an small episode of their future where despite not wanting to live on, Verso decides to at least do what he enjoyed previously, no?
That one wasn't bad. Have you done the volleyball one yet? Fucking dogshit. The one for Maelle's bikini also sucked ass for me, but I don't know if that was just a me issue.
Oh fuck thank you for this I thought I would need more NGs to cleamaxx properly
Verso doesn't want to play
headcanon
maelle shows her paintress eyes
headcanon
Wow her eyes are scary, this is clearly the bad ending
I stopped using Sciel
That's the biggest mistake, Sciel is the only must have character in the game.
I don't know why people say he's bad when he's a based foot fetishist who has way more utility than all the other people.
Monoco is extremely powerful and has very early and fast access to multi hits 9999 AoEs for Act 2 also free party wide Shields + party AP etc. and in Act 3 can also one shot anything like Maelle
It's probably the same retards who think only Maelle is obscenely overpowered because they saw a video of doing 1 billion damage (which was nerfed, both Medalum & Stendhal wise)
b-b-b-but both sides!
One ending is set to upbeat hopeful music, with beautiful colours and a family coming together to move on from their grief while the other is shot in black and white with literal horror music playing and a jump scare of a deformed Alicia.
God damn bottom left shot during that scene was absolute kino
A lot of people see the shot of her outside the painting and project all sorts of meaning onto it
noooo dont delete your savegame these people in sims wil ldie
why are maelle fags like this?
Yes anon.
Ignore the part where he looks absolutely devastated and unwilling to play until Maelle's jumpscare and only then he starts playing.
That was completely normal, same as the nightmare framing and the chroma sound in the background, just coincidences.
Also ignore how he spammed PLEASE KILL ME like 20 different times in like 30 seconds.
music pretty and colorful!!!
ALICIA YOU ARE SHITTING YOURSELF
GO TO THE BATHROOM NOW
I don't think he's playing the piano forever. It's probably just an event as you said. But it's pretty obvious Maelle is forcing to him to play since he kinda sits there in defiance for a bit before she starts using her painter powers set to level 10 and then his hands start trembling resisting her before he finally plays.
I am still confused with the whole "infinite piano" talk
It's just a joke. The whole ending scene is a reference to one of the conversations between Maelle and Verso, where Maelle promised to organize a concert for him when it will all be over.
pAlicia had nothing left thanks to pVerso. pVerso doesn't deserve mercy.
kek
We want both endings to have merit
But we will make one ending full of hope and warm fuzzy feelings while the other is shot like an indie horror movie
Frogs are habitual liars lmao
Alicia will NEVER willingly part with the canvas. If (and that's a big IF) she ever gets pushed out, she will find a way to immediately come back, just like her mother, until she finally dies and renoir trashes the canvas. Family completely broken outside
If they weren't such clinging bitches they would reach a good compromise where they can rebuild lumiere, give a proper good life to everyone inside, and go in to enjoy time with them every now and then. Painted verso and young verso should be gone forever
the devs clearly intended maelle's ending to be the good one
that's why they made it so awful, to trick you into thinking otherwise
The ending is basically Verso doesn't "want this life", but he's got no choice in the matter anymore, and Lune stared him down really hard, so he started playing the piano after a moment of awkwardness. And then they had a big party after the concert, and all was well.
Play a game for 40 hours
It’s all a video game, wow so meta
This is good writing to you?
pAlicia is for hand holding.
still can't come up with an argument as to why Alicia's ending is set to the nightmare french movie framing
Also ignore how he spammed PLEASE KILL ME like 20 different times in like 30 seconds.
And Lune didn't want to die in his ending, did he care?
Must've been the hidden ones.
Expedition 56. You find it in the Stone Wave Cliffs
Never disputed that, those aspects ARE what makes it so great and harrowing.
Sciel is the only must have character in the game.
Why though? Maelle was always first turn and in 99% of fights I could end with her initial turn by spamming free aim for weak enemies or stendhal to one shot enemies. From my limited experience, Sciel needed three turns minimum to come online because you need to use both moon and sun moves to get into Twilight. Even using cheater, every single enemy except Simon was dead before it'd come back to her. Unless there was a weapon that starts her in twilight or something? I honestly didn't pay attention to her weapon.
Not yet, I'm doing the race one now.
LOL
I have considered such an ending, but can you truly get rid of Verso from the painting and keep it alive? Could Maelle somehow swap his soul for hers within the painting to keep Lumiere and the gestrals going?
the only painted feelings that matter are my gritty self-insert's
He did care, but he resolved to do it anyways because everyone else has had enough.
You don't need sciel to attack, she just has the best support moves in the game
makes your maelle/verso attack four times in a row
The race is the easiest one, except maybe the first parkour one.
Oh fuck I completely forgot about that, I thought for a second they only tortured Verso.
Sciel uses the "give an ally double damage" then the "make it that ally's turn and give 4 AP" skills
Spending too long in the canvas deteriorates your body
Literally just have to leave once in a while so you don't shit yourself
For some reason can't do this
hehe the devs put a jumpscare with her horrible addict face in the end
this is done on purpose into thinking the ending is bad even though it's good!
Seek help
I didn't know you could do have more than two turns in a row. I was using cheater (obviously) and also had a lumina where you get an extra turn for breaking. Upon breaking, I never got a third turn so I assumed it was capped. I'm sure there was a skill I just never bought or used from Sciel that you're referencing.
want to protect her smile
she never had a smile to protect
It hurts, she deserved to find happiness. Fuck Aline and fuck Verso.
Who knows. It's sad because you cannot just simply trash the canvas and start a new one with gustave and company. You'd paint them back, yes, but it's not the same chroma; it's just fake people with their memories, much like painted Verso
At that point it's just plain escapism. At least leaving their oriignal paintings alive in verso's canvas saves some of their "humanity" as you're also doing it for them
Copying them in another canvas is just selfish
I'm not even that anon, but you would have to be blind and or mentally retarded to interpret that gesture as "waving."
Maelle, Lune and Sciel say yes to continuing
Esquie, Monoco and Gustave abstain
Verso says no
He also gets outvoted
They can, they refuse to because it breaks the illusion when you go back and Verso is dead.
Aline is an addict and Alicia got it from her.
Esquie and Monoco support whatever Verso is doing.
Verso torture was a different expedition where his girlfriend noticed his torso getting blown in half and he tried to gaslight her into thinking nothing had happened
She always acts first and makes everyone else do double damage. If you're lacking in lumina/AP you can also do intervention to give them double damage+full AP, but it's not necessary
Sciel's skill specifically bypasses the hard turn limit because she just takes your next turn and places it right after hers.
I need 20 painted Lune's on my cock immediately.
Greeting fellow anons. I would just like to congratulate Sandfall Studio on writing such a fantastic character. Truly a marvelous individual.
They fear the canvas will be destroyed if they leave.
Act 1&2
Sciel has access to Chation weapon & Card Weaver in Act 1, which means in turn 1 she can do Card Weaver, generate 10 Foretell on all enemies, then immediately go into a Moon Skill from the Extra Turn, ideally Delaying Slash to prevent ANY enemy from acting even once while pushing your allies turns forward.
Because she consumed 10 Foretell, she also gains 9 AP for the next turn, and will be instantly at Twilight on the next turn as well due to Sun + Moon on same turn.
You literally just repeat this forever
With high Speed + First Strike you always act twice before any enemy including bosses and can prevent even Simonkek from taking a single turn through Delaying Slash spam, especially if you also apply Slow through Monoco or Lune just once.
Act 3
You can just one shot whatever but even for that Sciel is needed since she can buff any ally with 2x damage and also grant them full turns on the same action through Cheater.
Which means characters like Verso or Maelle can literally act 6-8x times before any boss, 2 normally from Speed & First Strike, 2 from Cheater, the other 4x from Sciel granting full turns. And it does matter because since it's a full turn it will proc their Cheater for double
leave for a bathroom break
renoir immediately destroys the painting
She will never leave that canvas on her own volition
Sciel is HUGE late game I agree, but I've been used the siblings and our favourite tree man since I got them so it's hard to let go for constant repeating billion damage. Though with my trio infinite single target stun is what helped me cheese simon (regretfully) since he never got an action after his first.
Really I would've beaten him legit if he didn't Gomage my entire party for FREE leaving the girls with skills and equipment I barely ever use.
Only Maelle fears it and it's obviously cope since Renoir already said it's okay.
Aline went and locked herself inside and the family kept hiding it and she kept coming back. If Renoir really intended to destroy it since the start we wouldn't have this problem.
Aline was at fault for that.
Alicia already convinced her dad not to burn it.
In truth, she just doesn't want to go back to a life that reminds her that she killed her brother.
Somebody shop Todd with Verso's hair and scar.
They do it. All the time. Renoir and aline painted hundreds of worlds
But they can't let go of their dead son's last piece of his soul. Renoir is the first one to recognize this and wants to destroy it before aline (who is already on their way to dying after 67 years of obsession) and alicia (who was starting to show those symptoms) just plain die in their delusion
authoritarian decision results in death of innocents
tale old as communism
So Renoir and Aline are based on the real Renoir painter and his wife.
Who are we going to get in the sequel when we see the writers guild? Shakespeare?
get used by writers to set home ablaze
older brother dies in fire saving you
body still horribly burned, missing an eye and can't speak
mother hates you so much that in the painted world she escapes to she creates an AU version of you in your burned form
older sister also hates you and wishes you'd died in the fire instead
only person who gives the slightest fuck about you is your father who wants to destroy the only shred of happiness you have left to save your crazy mother
Her only real mistake was keeping Verso alive, which given how most of her family blames her for real Verso's death and her own desire to not lose anyone else is kinda understandable in a crazy way. Also Verso was a lying asshole who was willing to genocide everyone. Of course she has clearly snapped and the painted world will likely die along with her so this isn't really a good ending either.
Sciel is absurdly broken even as early as you recruit her because of how busted Chation is, they'll probably nerf it into the ground soon enough
You can even say Sciel is the strongest ally in the game for Act 1&2 because someone like Maelle can only do damage, Sciel can Delaying Slash spam to prevent ANY enemy in the game from ever acting including bosses as early as Act 1, including the likes of Sprong in Act 2 or Simonkek in Act 3 even though by then you just one shot him anyways
>older sister also hates you and wishes you'd died in the fire instead
misunderstanding clea so hard
Also Verso was a lying asshole who was willing to genocide everyone.
For his family, including Alicia herself.
return to the Canvas after a short bathroom break
50 years have passed
some of your friends have grown old and had kids
others already died
Whoops.
Given the timeline and location, the writers guild leader could be this gigachad.
Looking at the E33 R34 shit, AI slop needs to be banned.
Midwits will dance around this and still hold onto
>"Um...so what if I just destroyed an entire universe and all my friends and subjected Alicia to live a painful life as bacon so she can grieve Verso and her paint family all alone in the graveyard...LE HECKIN COLORS XD"
You are hosting a dialogue with actual toddlers.
Are people memeing about 1 BILLION dmg etc.?
I have every single damage booster possible outside of the solo one, also Greater Powerful, Greater Denceless, all the Shield ones, Marks, Stun, 2x from Sciel etc.
Yet something like Lune's 3rd tier Gradient is "only" hitting for 140m damage or whatever.]
Same for Maelle's nerfed Stendhal at 150m or so. This is without Roulette.
So if it's possible what's missing for that?
you are so fucking retarded holy shit that I am not even going to waste my thoughts to write about your shitty headcanon in your head
Alicia vs Verso is just Aline vs Renoir round 2 and renoir was right both times.
replies to himself
i thought verso was a neat take on a paladin and their skill set
compulsive liar who kills his loving painted dad at the bidding of a higher one who offers oblivion at best
his weapon choice being a common counter to rapier users like maelle was also a neat wink wink moment
the best part is that with Maelle at least you guarantee the people of Lumiere and other sentient creatures in the Canvas will live happy lives for a long time... or at least be given the choice to actually live.
Verso's ending doesn't guarantee shit, you genocide an entire world for the HOPE that a fucking dysnfuctional family will fix their shit when Clea is the only one not acting like a retarded teen
Wow your media literacy is so high! Truly you figured out that jumpscare = bad
You're right on Clea but
For his family, including Alicia herself.
Verso had Renoir killed, his mother forcefully excised so he finally dies, didn't give Painted Alicia the time of day, leading to her euthanasia.
It was never about his family, it was about him.
Gaslighting and killing Julie mindbroke him.
How did (you) deal with Simon? For me it was Virtuose stance + Sciel double damage buff + Gommage to two shot him.
Is that considered a cheese? Is there even such a thing as Simon without cheese?
No I think the jumpscare makes the bad ending too on the nose, I wouldn't have put it there. It's still the bad ending tho.
writers vs painters
god fucking damnit this is as stupid as templars vs assassins. The ubisoft faggots were not able to hold their faggotry at place.

what the fuck?
You're right. So damn right.
older sister also hates you
Somebody hasn't finished the endless tower.
who is already on their way to dying after 67 years of obsession)
It's implied to be a good deal longer than this. Renoir was in the painting for 67 years and that was after he realized that Aline was in there too long. With how time works between the two worlds she could be in there for 117 years to way longer.
wait till the sculptures, architects and musicians get in on it

If they are all using AI, then their art before it was never worth it to begin with
I play on story mode so it was easy
replies to himself
Meds. Piano. NOW, Versotard.
it's too on the nose
We've had daily threads where people insist it's the good ending. Not even muh both endings are bad kind of deal, but straight up that Verso's is a bad end and Maelle's is a good end.
If anything the devs weren't on the nose enough.
And you're hoping that they can fix their shit just so they can go to war. There is a decent chance more of the family will die in either ending, so the cycle will just repeat.
Is there even such a thing as Simon without cheese?
I still haven't made it past the first few turns on him. The moment he slashes (at the speed of light) it's over.
Yes, what if one person who was suicidal lived? This is so grim
but Maelle only granted one of these wishes.
Verso only needs one sister.
There is some cosmic irony in Versofags being unwitting proponents of death of the author
painters can conjure up worlds
writers are implied to mind control
and all that Verso wanted to do was be a basic ass pianist, no wonder his parents disapproved.
is he right?
Just PARRY

"Real world" is set in 1905, or at least this was the year when Verso died. So Hugo is already dead by this time.

Oh this is a subtext about her denying him children
Pretty sure most of Anon Babble didn't get it
I still think it's a younger copy of Verso she's training to be Verso's replacement
I did that as well once he auto-killed my party.
What was the painters' position on the Dreyfus affair?
noooooooooo I don't want to live an ideal life forever
How do people do gradient attacks so often? Even with pictos it took too long to charge them. As for Simon, I had Verso with the S rank weapon, Maelle with the Virtuose stance on start weapon and Sciel to giga buff them. I tried fighting him the right way but he hit way too hard and wipes your party automatically in phase 2 even if you play perfectly without cheese. I respecced and stacked all the buffs on Maelle and wrecked him.
Overarching plot where the elites want to keep literacy down because an indian writer is the last thing anyone wants
Vtumours have an image and rep to maintain. They go into every game prepped with lines to keep the facade believable.
Nah, he's retarded.
Maelle... it's been years.... we can stop having grand reopenings of the theater, right?
Play the piano music man. Get to work.
The kid is one of the orphans hanging out with Maelle in the prologue. Stop the fake news of child Verso.
Imagine if his ending were different depending on who he fucked; if he fucks Sciel he gets normal ending because she just uses and loses him, while if he fucks Lune he actually has something to be happy about.

Yeah the auto-kill also did it for me. My two other party members are each 10 levels and 300 lumina points behind the main crew.

Exactly. Verso even tells Alicia she can just paint another canvas if she doesn't want her "real" life. AKA:
lol I can be maman all over again if u want 2, just let me and this canvas die mmkay? U gonna be okay :)
Maelle's ending is called "A Life to Paint."
Both the lyrics of "Maelle" and "Alicia" say the same thing.
Maelle has a life to paint
Sweet erased star
Alicia has a life to paint
The odds of her going into another canvas in Verso's end as per his "suggestion" to escape her circumstances are extremely high. We can hope and headcanon all will be well, but that's really all it is. No guarantees for anything whatsoever.
He was painted by a mentally ill female.
300 lumina points behind the main crew.
How does this even happen? Where are you all getting all these damn points?
kek
Exactly my thought process. And it was not really a cheese, I had to setup the gommage after he was below 50% hp
my dead son...... needs a big dick
why is she like this
Renoir's Draft in Act 3, all enemies there drop Lumina points like candy, literally 100% rate for some
Alicia, this is maman's crack stash. I need to destroy it. You can make your own, I don't care. I just need hers gone.
They're scattered all over the map, in fights, in side areas, in fights and bosses, as quest rewards. Focusing on just 3 members is a good way to leave them behind.
Danke anon
the complete law control ending needs effects to cause the low IQ to consider that it's not all rainbows
It makes sense why Maelle's ending is a 100% good ending to these people if it weren't for the colour and music.
Use pictos to gain gradient charges on applying burn, hitting marked targets, landing a crit once per turn. Then use even more pictos to apply burns and marks from free aim shots and cheater to have multiple turns.
Each turn you shoot a bunch before dumping the rest of AP into skills.
What's she gonna find in another Canvas?
Do you think Simon and Clea.... you know... Do you think.... His sword grows when she whispers in his hear it's gotta be a metaphor, right?
aren't french families notorious for weird dynamics
He is the music man, he comes from far away
And he can play
What can he play?
He plays the piano!
Pia-pia-pia-no, piano, piano
Pia-pia-pia-no, pia-piano!
Complete delusion. Old lumiere is already in shambles and whatever maelle brings is not what it used to be; just wishful thinking (literally). Not to mention they shouldn't even exist in the first place, they're a byproduct of aline's absolute copium behavior
You need "Cheater" and "Energy Master"
The former gives you two turns every turn. The latter gives you 2 AP everytime you get AP. There are also some pictos that charge the bar every time you land a crit and another that charges the bar when you hit something that's burned. It stacks up extremely fast.
So did anyone figure out why there's a 33rd of December in this setting? Just a red herring?
im anon and im being retarded for no reason
big shocker there?
if maelle has the opportunity to fix the situation it will be better for her in the long run, its a classic case of giving someone a fish, or teaching them to fish
Renoir possibly feels he is at an impasse and that the situation needs resolving--same with clea
maelle though as a character can grow from this and redeem herself, at the very least to herself, if she can do what renoir seeks to do, but on her own terms
There are no downsides to Verso's ending.
But what about Lune
He had her fun with her, but it's time for her to be disposed of. It's the nature of WMAF, after all.

Because they are living within the「Writers' World」

Its more stuff to fuel discussion. Is the world outside the painting an alternate Earth? Is that world outside also a creation? Is it the Writers messing with reality?

Might be the one in Gestral Village, I can't remember though.
I think the jumping and gradient counter shit felt unnecessarily tacked on. Jumping happened pretty infrequently and the enemy gradient attack happened probably 4 times total after you learn it.
Gustave should have gotten actual weapon traits/full tree to sell the surprise later
Atm it's far too easy intuited that something will happen, even people who don't anticipate the death expect him to have some kind of power up moment in the story
Have Versofags not come to the realization that Alicia cannot paint anything herself? She blows at painting, her skills are reading and writing, and the game does tell you this:
she owns the only two typewriters in the Manor
she owns the largest collection of books in the Manor
she naturally and unforcefully takes Gustave's role in writing the Journal, to the point of reaching inspiration from her own words and immortalizing Gustave in a skill
As a pretend Paintress, she's able to:
gommage (after Renoir taught her)
repaint using existing chroma (after pVerso taught her)
Look at the two Alicia paintings the game presents to you:
some dogshit blurry manor (Alicia's magnum opus, according to Aline)
some infant's idea of a diamond with several random strokes
wait for dlc
Almost every boss and strong enemy later on have at least one.
It works because all the characters have locked skills. You might infer that all the ones on the right are similar (and they are, the gradient attacks) but Maelle also has locked skills above her tree.
Learning a new craft is a great way to channel your grief into something productive.
DLC will be about Verso's previous expedition
Maellebros got erased kek
you are a retarded ass faggot
It worked for me. I had all his skills unlocked and just assumed I would unlock additional skills later one because everyone had their gradient attacks blocked. At no point did I think "I bet they kill him and swap him with a different guy"
Disprove a single point I made
in a vacuum, sure
but when every weapon of his is blank when it's just the starter weapon for the others is red flag central
sauce?
Give it up Renoir, everybody knows you stuff a sock down there.
Any prequel DLC will suck. Previous Expeditions did not have the lumina converter. So we'd be stuck playing with three pictos and no leveling.
Plus we know that previous expeditions don't matter
One thing I don't get. Did Aline "paint over" Alicia consciously in order to give her a "better" life, or was it on auto-pilot?
Leveling has nothing to do with the lumina converter.
hilarious lol
official art just dropped
magazine.artstation.com
60 expedition literally won, though
Didn't Aline try to teach Alicia for a decade? While being simultaneously successful with Verso and Clea.
Verso didn't like it, but he's still very skilled, even as a kid.
Oh I get it now! Simon, because near the end the gameplay becomes Simon says.
There's that odd moving big humanoid thing on all fours and the "impales you" gradient attack has such odd timing it's really bullshit, esp given that it usually one shots.

Autopilot.
Noooooo! Don't make me live in a world without want or hurt with a goddess who can provide me with everything I could want! No! Not the piano! LET ME DIE!

Not as obnoxious as the obscur's
DLC will be about Alicia growing to resent her family and jumping ship to the Writers camp.
And now Alicia has a goal she's trying to reach. Actual motivation.
maybe if varso wasnt such an emo fuck, alicia wouldnt be miserable
Simon Says Die.
Fuck bros he got me again.
I don't see why Verso couldn't become happier after a while, he had fun hanging out with them on the quest, he just needs to chill out and enjoy life.
Seems to have been auto-pilot, Aline asks Renoir "You let her come?!" at the end of act 1. She probably wasn't even aware that Maelle was Alicia until painted Renoir sends her briefly to the black hole room.
probably just symbolism about him dying on a fake day or something
Could also be a hint that the reality is being warped by the writers.
Headcanon
I pre-ordered the game and played it to 100% completion in like 5 days. It's been so many years since I had this much fun with a game, my fucking god. And then I come here and see Farquaad and a bunch of pajeets shitposting about an indie game with zero modern messaging and a low price tag.
No shit? We were talking about a hypothetical.
Nta but
"Oh no, I can't come up with a counterargument"
"I know, I'll just call his argument headcannon, that will show him"
You sound like one of those "the curtains are just blue" fags that failed English class.
Now do a parry only expert run with French voices.
I was here brothers. In all 2024 threads. We finally beat this faggot.
The game establishes a truth that you pretend to circumvent with motivation. You're just dodging the facts that the game presents to you.
Motivation isn't enough though.
She clearly wanted to repaint Lune and Sciel, didn't work (until Verso gave her lessons)
Sigh. I can't believe I have to explain it to you people. This isn't 100% about escapism is LE BAD. The objective of the expeditions within the painted world is to stop the paintress and should they fail, they hold steadfast that the next one will finish off the job. While they may have intrinsic motivation to save themselves from their fate if their age is up, they don't mind being bricks for a better future others will walk over.
Contrast this with the Dessendre family, both in the painted world and real life. None of them trust each other. They could avoid all this pain, including to the painted world left by Verso, if they agreed the mom won't go off the deep end if they are the support pillars for her grief. None of them are able to put aside their own grief to better their own family members. Ergo, they are selfish and lie to each other nonstop. It is human nature but they don't break the cycle and neither do they believe each other's lies.
The sole exception, more or less, is Clea who is the oldest child and reluctantly has to multitask playing psychiatrist to her schizo mother and sister while taking the duties of the family and helping her dad get things back to normal. Clea understandably is rude because she is compartmentalizing a ton of drama and she is doing the best she can without falling apart. She knows that if nobody else hold down the fort and has a clear head, they're all going to die. Clea's words betray her actions, if she really didn't care about her mom she wouldn't have invested time and effort into helping her dad get good deck of cards inside the painting. Clea also is babysitting her younger sister.
If you just take this is a story about escapism, you missed half the game. This is about altruism and selfishness. Anyway, fuck Reddit Anon BabbleGCJ Resetera.
im starting suspect they are bullshitting about the team size, one guy made all those models in 3 years? no way
what about the 2 other artsist credited? who did retopology and optimization lods?
shits shady as fuck, like its just a marketing claim
Based.
It wasn't actually 30 devs like people are saying. It was 33 devs.
You are obligated to put your whole staff and everyone who collaborated in the credits.
You can just check yourself.
The truth of a child with different interests did not respond well to their parent's teaching? Yeah obviously this means they'll never learn. The worst part is that you actually think that repainting Verso's canvas should be the ultimate goal. The goal is to get her over her grief.
Stop being self-conscious again, Alicia. If you want to bring your brother's essence to life then actually put the work into it.
The most important question is why the player should give a singular shit about the plight of some schizo french aristocrats and not about the people and creatures they spent the entire game interacting with.
and not about the people and creatures they spent the entire game interacting with.
Alicia and Verso? I actually care about them, yeah.
Everyone else basically died.
That's just called not being lazy faggots.
It's a philosophical problem, the game presents you with the fact that all the people from act 1 are "not real", then you're free to make your own choice, as you see fit. Remember all those games where the villain "kinda had a point" (e.g. Maruki for a more famous example)? Well, you can side with the villain here. But who's REALLY the villain? That depends on your own worldview and outlook.
They could avoid all this pain, including to the painted world left by Verso, if they agreed the mom won't go off the deep end if they are the support pillars for her grief
This is an interesting point because we don't know for how long Aline was alone in the canvas, however we DO know that Renoir forcefully intervened in her grieving process (Clea objects to this too), effectivelly being the reason the fracture happened that led to Lumiere's misery. We also know that the time Aline had spent there alone wasn't even that long to begin with, Clea mentions that by Year 49, the situation is not dire, and more time had been spent in other paintings, so the time that Aline had spent, even though we don't know how much it is, isn't really that long.
At the beginning of Act 3, Renoir gives Alicia about 2 minutes to present her arguments before forcing her to do something she doesn't want, just as he did to Aline. How much time did she give Aline?
if she really didn't care about her mom she wouldn't have invested time and effort into helping her dad get good deck of cards inside the painting
I think this is just her way of begging Renoir for help agaisnt the Wr*ters
I saw this same cope by some faggot pretending to be a game dev (or he was actually a dev and he's just a shitty lazy faggot)
I'm inclined to believe the latter because Anon Babble is full of lazy faggots
Just watch this video. The first prototypes were made with free store assets and the game had a steampunk vibe lol, it really is a lightning in a bottle moment, they somehow managed to find all the talent just on pure luck and chance
youtube.com
Alicia and Verso? I actually care about them, yeah.
Why? The entire family are degenerates that deserve fire.
the goal is to get her over her grief
How can we achieve this goal, is there a definitive answer? Do we go with a forced route or something more nuanced and with agreements (as Lune suggested)
The plight of someone wishing to save his family above everything else, even from themselves, is relatable.
How is Clea so fucking based, bros? I understand Maelle and Verso's struggles and why they both wanted their endings. But Clea is simply the most reasonable character in the game by far. If only Clea had more sway in everything, maybe all this bullshit could have been avoided in the first place.
Forcing someone to live a life mute and scarred in a world where there are people who want to kill you and everyone like you
Saving them
That's a peculiar definition for saving you have.
I'm thinking of trying a no parry no dodge run, I think it will actually be harder than parry only (and potentially impossible)
It is saving them if your family is filled with overpowered reality warpers who (mostly) care about you.
Having a fucked up face doesn't matter when you are rich either.
Dumb nigger, Verso had his actual father killed, and ignored his actual sister, which ultimately ends in her asking for death.
Verso is selfish.
Someone has already completed a no dodge/parry run. They played on easy mode, and supposedly, it was still rather difficult to pull off. I'd love to see someone try on expert.
As far as he's concerned, his real family is the real Dessendres, thank Aline for that.
And no matter what, Aline is his real mother and she's dying.
What about Verso's soul? That character isn't selfish. Verso deserved better.
im starting suspect they are bullshitting about the team size, one guy made all those models in 3 years? no way
Yeah I mean on expert. I imagine it would need a LOT of overleveling, but also there's some fights that I think might simply be impossible (mainly near the start of the game like eveque).
Certainly not by enabling her delusions. Note how she talks to Verso in her ending. She's at a point where she cannot or does not want to differentiate between her actual brother and the copy made by her mother. She's not going to get over her grief by denying reality.
Is it just me or does everyone in this game have a big head relative to their body?
I'm a failure at talking to my family
Clearly the only solution is omnicide
More a shadow than his actual soul.
A literal fragment of his soul he poured onto the canvas when he painted it.

Retard
You're dodging my question
The Versofag ultimate technique.
Alicia isn't open to talk and her way of grieving is actively harming her. Yes, sometimes you have to force your kids to behave a certain way.
Just as braindead and driven by emotion as Renoir. She would be more receptive to 'listen' if he would compromise on destroying Verso's canvas. Play a stupid game, win a stupid prize. Retard.
Auto Death + Breaking Death + Second Chance will fill up the break bar at the very start of the encounter.
Alicia isn't open to talk
He doesn't give her time. He doesn't even talk with the team about it (neither Lune and Sciel want to die, Monoco is clearly sad before going to Lumiere, and Esquie says "Whooo").
Instead he recklessly goes to the Limbo area is the first one to commit to something, and Maelle appropriately reacts in self-defense.
At least you admit that you can act forcefully against vulnerable people because you think it's right. And while the intention might have some good behind it, the appropriate tact is necessary, something which both Verso and Renoir lack.
30 developers created a masterpiece
all the developers are french meaning they didn't go and hire germans or americans or japanese etc.
what a fucking masterpiece
Sparing the white nevrons gives you 100 lumina
Each expedition log can be traded in to an NPC in the Gestral Village for 20 lumina a pop.
Cringe
How can you not be emotional when your daughter tells you she's going to make the same mistake her mother made?
Maelle appropriately reacts in self-defense
Tell me why you think this is self-defense and we can discuss it further.
it's called "defense of a third party"
She reminds me of my mother a little bit which feels kinda weird
Which party? Sciel and Lune? Because I don't think Verso removing himself and part of real Verso's soul from the canvas will destroy it. Consider that there are at least 3 other soul fragments still in there.
No one said he can't be emotional. But you forfeit any right to have your voice heard when all you can do is coerce them to acquiescing to your will with violence.
How can you not be emotional when your daughter tells you she's going to make the same mistake her mother made?
What mistake? Clea does state that by year 49 they had spent a lot more time in other paintings, she objects to whatever the fuck Renoir does. Aline didn't ask for help.
Tell me why you think this is self-defense and we can discuss it further.
Kid Verso's soul keeps the painting alive by painting. This would destroy the world Alicia loves as well as the people she loves. This is the same thing that Painted Renoir does, acting in self-defense, albeit in a anti-hero fashion.
Would you also mind telling me why he shouldn't discuss this with the rest of the team?
It's called painties don't get to make real people decisions. You told Alicia, a real person, you wanted to play the piano earlier so that's what you'll be doing.
Can you faghots quit ruining the game?
What mistake?
If it doesn't destory it then fine, but the whole thing was "decide the fate of the canvas" and one of the side was "we have to erase the canvas" so I assume it would destroy it.
Kid Verso's soul keeps the painting alive by painting. This would destroy the world Alicia loves as well as the people she loves.
According to who? If that's actually true then why did Renoir bother to destroy the Canvas by hand and not just get the soul to stop painting?
I’m going to kill your friends. Then your family. I’ll make you watch your brother die—just in case it might inconvenience me someday. After that, I’ll lecture my father on the meaning of family… before I kill him too. I’ll lie to you about everything—your actions, their purpose—because explaining the truth is hard, and I’d rather you unknowingly destroy your hometown, loved ones, and comrades.
Remember my sister? She wants peace. She believes we can talk things through. She wrote me a letter full of hope—one I’ll never share. I’ll convince her not to kill herself, all while making her life so miserable that staying becomes the crueler option. I’ve had 100 years to accept these fake memories of a man I never was, and even though you all support me as my own person… I’ll still kill everyone in Lumiere for the sake of the woman who created me.
You’ve forgiven me—again—for everything. So I’ll hesitate briefly. But Alicia once lied to Renoir after getting 16 years of chaos injected into her brain, so naturally, I must now kill you all. Clearly, there were no alternatives.
Now: suicide. It's morally grey, and totally for her. I mean, you saw what happened with Aline. The Dessendre tried nothing, and it didn’t magically work out. So that’s proof, right?
We’ll never know who’s right. Just endless fog, ambiguity... and a piano.
Probably for the same reason he didn't just woodchipper the canvas with Aline inside and spent 67 years trying to kick her out.
NTA, but again - what mistake? Aline drowned her self in delusion making a copy paste family whereas Alicia was reborn as Maelle and lived a full second life.
Even if you pull the muh Verso cope, she is going to let him grow old and die. A farcry from her mother's forced immortality. What "reality?" Going back to being a burned cripple?
Renoir didn't want to destroy the canvas at the beginning, only wanted Aline out. Note how his curator task is to assist E33 in excising Aline.
save sister from fire
she doesn't let you die in peace
poor verso
He's pulling the Chroma in to get ready to stop Aline from locking him down with it again once she finds the Canvas.
Verso saved Alicia.
Painted Verso is a different being with Verso's memories plus his own inside the painting.
Unrelated, but Renoir also hints at Verso being kind of a dick due to his Axon's parable. Which is not the case with Aline's or Alicia's, and while we don't know Clea's parable, the Axon carrying the world on its shoulders is very unlikely to carry a negative meaning.
Who knows what really happened right before the fire.
What do you consider the beginning? Because that's what he said as soon as he got freed.
lol
Tell me lies, tell me sweet little lies
Thanks for the pasta.
two Stendhals finish him
i pirated the game, so i don't get the nerf update
what mistake?
Read
kind of a dick due to his Axon's parable
Yeah, he's an inveterate liar. He lies about everything no matter how likely it is to fuck him over or how much easier the truth would make things.
while we don't know Clea's parable,
She's literally perfect and holding up the weight of her nutcase family.
He got trapped inside.
This isn't supported by the game.
Delicious
this entire time I thought the bottom left image was edited black and white as a meme to make it look cool like a gigachad meme. learning that its actually part of the game is...interesting
If they are just paintings and she doesn't see them as people, why does she even care if that world is erased and she is forced to face reality?
Is it because she just wants to feel in control, to be a god? To pretend everything is alright?
She doesn't want shit to end because "those people are real to me" but she continues to torture Verso, like he isn't real and therefore, doesn't matter.
No one is real bitch.
She's literally perfect and holding up the weight of her nutcase family.
And I agree, but I was meaning to say that we don't know the exact words:
She Who Plays With Wonder
He Who Guards Truth With Lies
She Who Grasps The Sky
It's probably something along the lines of:
She Who Holds The Weight Of The World
Subarashii
Maybe add:
Yes, I gaslit my girlfriend and then killed her as well as the people that once trusted me, but that's fine since I didn't trust them anyway.
Maybe there's a different way to say this.
This is why we don't let paint people make their own decisions.
I’m going to kill your friends. Then your family. I’ll make you watch your brother die—just in case it might inconvenience me someday. It has to be, otherwise I would have to think back on the time I gaslit and killed my girlfriend over a minor misunderstanding I did not even try to explain.
We’ll never know who’s right. Just endless fog, ambiguity... and a piano.
Got this scene only after the ending, apparently there was one more journal entry to write. Kinda depressing though.
aline paints him as the retard she remembers
Thanks anon, you have a better way with words than I.
Clea
First born child syndrome. Alicia is youngest retard sibling syndrome.
It's a team effort!
Something painters will never know. That's why they have PAIN as their header.
Thank you for cooking up this pasta anon! It's great.
Her character model is atrocious
The fuck? She's gorgeous. It actually kinda bothered me that she started looking as this dainty little princess that everything revolves around come act 3. And then she started power tripping.
So you have nothing further to support your argument which has already been addressed. Good to know. Concession accepted.
None of that happened. I think you might have projected your fetishes onto her appearance.
Clea already said it best, I don't need to add anything.
Clea also said her father is a control-freak equally incapable of communication as what you are latching onto as a drug-addicted woman, who is blinded by the fear of losing more people and acting impulsively and irrationally.
I hope you are counting them as equally at fault and not mysteriously forgetting that part.
Maelle had a solid arc but she was way too perfect.
Alicia, however, was a riot, 100% accurate representation of a melodramatic teenager, you can tell the writer is a woman.
Anon, you can stop moving goalposts, Clea's not gonna fall for it. If you don't want to actually address what she said then fine.
What part of her is melodramatic?
But Daaaad, these people in the painting accept me for who I am! I can't possibly go back to my old life!
I am not that Anon, I have no idea what either of you are discussing as I figure it's some schizo semantics nonsense.
I am just hoping your end of the discussion is not a hypocritical one. If it isn't, and all you are trying to argue is her part of the fault, then godspeed. They are both at fault after all.
The part where she'd rather kill herself than deal with her brother's death.
I have no idea what either of you are discussing
You can stop replying.
... That... is melodramatic? She has 16 years of first-person living memories in that world inside her brain. Not as a pretend outsider, but as part of them.
And she is a cripple outside of the painting besides.
You consider that "melodramatic"?
In NG+33 Gustave's full ability tree is unlocked
brother sacrifices his life for you
as a reward, you enslave his soul forever
based
So you are in fact being hypocritical then. Oh well.
Why the fuck does this image remind me of Giga Chad every time I see it? It's just framed exactly like one of them.
Nope.
Even outside the far more developed context of this game, that would be a perfectly normal outcome for even an adult in real life without proper therapy. And the Dessendre are getting none of that, obviously.
So I don't know, you might have some issues yourself.
Why not try to have some genuine disccusions for once instead of just coming to flaseflag?
Keep deflecting.
It's fine if you were just trying to bait, I get you need attention. Just please don't bully teenage girls IRL for behaving like humans or something.
Versofag dodging the point again
What is the mistake if Alicia is going to let Verso die, therefore being faced to confront his passing? Aline made him immortal so that she would never have to cope. How is she comparable to Aline if she is eventually willing to let Verso go after she's made her peace? Answer the question directly.
Maelle's ending is "link the fire" ending.
Verso's ending is "age of darkness" ending.
Two bubbly happy go lesbian warrior strong types
342 words combined
That's just how dykes are, people like them despite having no substance or action whatsoever. I haven't played the game, but I wouldn't say the universally worst part of any story is a good measurement metric
what if things that didn't happen
Great point!
I chose Maelles ending because Lune and Sciel DESERVED to be happy
Dodging question again with bullshit
The mental retardation of Versofags is truly profound. Cannot even articulate a cogent response and doubles down on mouth breathing. A seamless case study of why American children must not be allowed in any discussion outside of cape shit.
tendie bros we lost....
Sorry I'm here to discuss the actual game not whatever things you're hallucinating.
Did you know that Maëlle (feminine version of the name) and Maël (masculine version of the name) sound the same?
If Verso wanted to die, he should be allowed.
If Alicia hated her life, just kill yourself IRL
Bring back the painted people, make them sterile, force Alicia to take breaks so she doesn't die. Now the Canvas can be used to cope with no risk and there is an eventual end point where Verso can be freed.
As if there won't be a Switch 2 port. We all know it's gonna happen
You committed the crime, you are getting the piano sentence, monkey.
The actual game shows her willing to let go of Verso by compromising and giving him mortality and having him age (seen in her ending) after she lives out the life "stolen" from them. That is what the actual game shows us. Not your deranged mentally ill fantasies, Versocuck. Keep closing your eyes and ears while screaming "nuh uh!" like a dishonest faggot. You lost. Like Versocucks always do. Low IQ every time.
Painted Clea also wanted to fucking die
willing to let go of Verso
Where?
giving him mortality
Where?
having him age (seen in her ending)
Correct.
That is what the actual game shows us
1 out of 3. Try again.
Painted Verso already ages, he dyes his hair.
No, he got white hair went he first fought the paintress.
I really wanted to see the gestral hair stylist.
All these threads just make me not want to play the game anymore. It can never live up to the hype and shilling.
The game has been out forever, literally on you if you have not played it by now.
Nobody cares what you do with your life bro. If they did you wouldn't be here.
I've been playing daily since release, I'm just not done with it.
Ouch. Damn.
daily since release
It's 60 hours at its lengthmost. What the fuck kind of garbage normie casual level of playing are you doing?
Get out of this board.
It's 60 hours at its lengthmost
I'm at 60h an in the middle of act 3 I guess.
That's still a few hours a day, I have a job, and also oblivion to play.
and also oblivion to play.
That's on you for playing a fucking remake while playing a new game.
I'm at 60h an in the middle of act 3 I guess
Just do the party member quests and then the ending, otherwise the final boss is far too easy, you can do the rest (Clea etc) later.
