Karl had an age to retract the statement publicly and in no uncertain terms but instead he stuck it at the end of a random dark souls video.

I supported Karl the whole way since, as a case about video game cheating, he obviously would have won it but that was a lie and it was about the suicide claim. He actually just sat on his hands and let Billy win.

What most likely happened is that Billy unknowingly played on a cabinet running MAME, got the record, years pass by, people find out it's done on MAME, Billy denies it because he had no reason to believe it was emulated. Even if he knew, it doesn't matter because emulation doesn't give you an advantage unless you use emulation-only features like save states, slow down, cheat codes, etc.
