SMT5

have fun

Thanks

Have fun. I'm gonna start playing it next week once i'm done with what i'm currently playing.

It's my favorite, enjoy.

The game makes it pretty clear, but at the beginning of the game taking the girls hand starts the new story, not taking her hand plays the original release story.

Once you find a demon you like, stick to it and make them the best you can.

If it’s your first playthrough don’t enable the Mitama dlcs, they really break the balance of the game and make it less fun.

Vengeance is better than Creation. Plan Vengeance.

Thanks
I should probably play the original
Ill pick my team based mostly on design as much as I can
Thanl you, i wont
I dont know what that means but Ill try

NTA but Canon of Creation and Canon of Vengeance are the two main story routes. Creation is the original, Vengeance is the new one. Vengeance is better overall but they're sort of complementary.

based
I'm on my third playthrough rn, but only the first one for the Vengeance path. I got this new OLED TV a few weeks ago and SMTV was the number 1 game I wanted to play on it.
Game's visuals look like they were made for OLED.

I love the atmosphere and soundtrack so much in this.

Good luck. Sex with Koshimizu.

koshimizu.jpg - 578x816, 81.3K

Godborn mode is kind of ass but I had fun with the game overall.

This is Mermaid, she's the cutest thing you'll ever see, so you better recruit her.

What's wrong with it?

The Canon heroine.

It's just a pointless infinite grind mode

Hope you enjoy it, OP. I started playing a couple weeks ago (on Canon of Creation) and I've been having a lot of fun. The story is kinda dry thus far, but the demons make up for it. Once you get a demon navigator, don't shy away from picking up those white items on the ground. It can be annoying, but you can get a lot of stat-boosting items and EXP items that are especially useful if you want to keep any low-level demon through the entire game.

coomer.png - 1920x1080, 2.55M

I enjoyed it as a mode to play with all my endgame demons from the beginning. It's just a fun NG+ mode. The only grind you might need is doing super bosses (Masakados/Satan/DF) on Godborn, but even then you'll probably get so many resources from actually playing through it you won't need much.

will playing canon of creation lock me out of demons added in the rerelase? I mean mostly these demons used in artwork

VVdemons.jpg - 900x486, 82.11K

Shit I need to replay this too. Once I'm done with my P5R playthrough but then raidou will be coming out. Eh well sometimes this year for sure.

Yes. So take the girl's hand.

Yes, the Qadistu are unlocked on Vengeance route. While Creation has unique bosses, Vengeance let's you unlock then in a virtual arena too, so if you want to unlock more demons on your first run, Vengeance is the way to go.

Yeah have to play through the Vengence story if you want to unlock them

Those evil chicks are OP as fuck when you can fuse them do so immediately

YOUNG MAN

A very random question: Can you use Cleopatra as a navigator on both routes?

Yeah, she's in Minato, the first area.

Godborn is when you enable the mitamas

I heard the story is not much to write home about. so I will take the hand.
does the new canon expect me to know how to play the game already? I never played smt before.

It's an alternative version of the same story basically

Oh nice, i thought she was more of a mid-game demon so i'd have to play for a bit before getting to her. thanks a bunch anon.

Nah, they're both about the same difficulty with some roadblocks on either route and different super bosses.

Well she's in the starting area, and you technically unlock the quest to get her as soon as you clear the final boss of the act, but you have to beat her quest to unlock her and she's like level 60 so the earliest you'll be able to beat her is midgame normally.

There are some elements on either route that get handwaved that only make sense on the other route. Atsuta's characterization is all in Vengeance, but Dazai's is all in creation, etc.

Do i have to grind and do a bunch of tedious shit in this game?

Normal or Hard for a first playthrough?

nahobiho.jpg - 1280x720, 100.65K

I see, i'll keep that in mind then.

No, but the game is designed around you doing sidequests. A lot of support skills and demon fusions are unlocked by sidequests and optional bosses.

Hard, as you learn the game and start abusing weaknesses and get a bigger party, the game gets easier, so Hard gives a nice challenge.

Imo Hard. The game is unforgiving but it gives you so many tools that you'll only really be challenged on hard.

I had fun on hard

There is some tedium in collecting fucking mimen and the general JRPG design of frequent and numerous fights, but grinding is not needed

Hard, normal is braindead easy you'll need to at least use your brain sometimes on hard. Just don't be afraid to wipe to a boss to learn what they do and then build a demon or two to counter it but generally try and have a balanced team as if everyone is weak to one type of damage then you will get fucked when a boss spams that type.

Got it, I remember playing the original on Hard and holy shit it was hard... maybe I am a shitter though, only played Nocturne on Normal up until now.

It's easier than the original (mostly). Not because it's easy, actually a lot of enemies got new tech, including Creation exclusive bosses, but you got so much better gear and more fusion options it balances it more in your favor. Satan is beyond hard though

I was told you had to continually fuse to get the best demons, don't things fall behind?

I really liked this game and really liked vengeance while I was playing it but then I suddenly stopped and now I can't go back to it
why am I like this

Exploring and sidequests will usually give you enough exp items to keep 1-3 demons up to date all game depending on when you start. So if you really like a demon or they have a handy ability you can keep using them. You will want to keep fusing for most of your party tho.

Enjoy

idun.png - 1607x846, 1.69M

I love how easy it is to take mid level demons like her and alice and use them for the whole game.

It's a really fun the game, but the story is kinda just okay
Music is great youtube.com/watch?v=OyGJp9awO20 , combat is great, exploration is great, builds are fun to experiment with, the game was made for people who love losing themselves in the autism of jrpg combat and systems

I saw you say you should do the original but no anon, don't. take the girls hand. the Canon of vengeance route itself has multiple alignment routes in it, just play it, there's no reason to do the original one
have fun, it's a great game. it was my first smt game and I'm gonna be finishing 4 today

Sorry Bragi, you aren't getting her back.

Are you supposed to play the game before fapping to the porn or is it the other way 'round?

Yes. The xp needed for demons to level up goes up exponentially each time they level, meaning low level plebs aren't viable unless you feed them rare candies. I did it for my boy Matador, and it took a toll on my resources. MAYBE you could manage to keep two leveled, no more.

I mean the original has a lot of great scenes, Abdiel is a much better character on the original, it has unique areas, bosses, a unique super boss you can only unlock on the OG, so it's worth playing. Vengeance is better tho

get to turn your classmate into the Pharoah of egypt, a living god.

don't get to canonically marry her in any of the endings

hook up classmate with her soulmate egyptian god thats been visiting her in her dreams and protecting her

"why didn't she marry 'bino though?"

anon I...

I think it's a vastly improved version of the game. I'm yet to finish it (though I am quite far through) because I am a little fatigued after the first. I wish I'd just waited for this version.

You marry her on Atsuta's endings so long as you made her Pharaoh and killed off Khonsu.

Yes, demons after they have learned all their learnable skills, start to level up REALLY FUCKING SLOW, that's the game telling you to fuse the demon into something stronger, if you are attached to a demon Siren my beloved ToT you can feed them level up items and stat increasing items which will keep them viable but it takes some grinding, ended up beating the game with a loli team....it was very fulfilling

I am Lv53 and currently keeping Pixie, Mermaid, Artemis, Alice, Idun, and soon Konohana Sakuya leveled with grimoires. It's possible without the mitama DLC as long as you're just diligent in checking white spots. There's also those big, glowing demon corpses that levels everyone up that you can save for when you run out of grimoires and don't feel like grinding more.

Story sucks ass but the combat is fun and there are some sexy demons and banger soundtracks
Getting 100% is also a chore because of certain maps. I honestly don't recommend it unless you REALLY want it

What should my new game+ playthrough be if I want to do another route and use different demons but still retain something from my first playthrough?

kill khonsu

whenever he reincarnates he's literally going to fuse into her body and she'll be a double god

this makes him her soulmate and her unavailable for your demoness goddess divine harem

Play Vengeance first. This is very important

sex

naamah.webm - 1244x700, 3.86M

This. They finally made customizing demons easy again

Play vengence don't let these niggers lie to you if you don't wanna grind use the mitamas not everyone wants their playthrough to be 200h. Specifically the macca one for fusions. Exp(red grimoires) don't break any balance exp(black gospels) absolutely do but that's your choice. I like gathering Mimans and exploration so I don't really use the glory one but if you wanna save alot of time feel free. All DLC demons are op as hell as per tradition since smt 4.

Music really fell flat for me I feel like the tracks should have been longer instead of so loopy. The main battle theme is dogpiss but I really like battle gliding is easily the best track in the whole game, maybe across.multiple SMT games
Also enjoyed this one youtu.be/ROViIt6cjEw?si=dtpfeK_8etc9JCdt

You technically can bring any shit demon from the start of the game to max level, it'll just take a lot of resources.
There are some exceptional mid-game ones I kept with me the rest of the game, like Cu chulainn

other classmate is supposed to become amaterasu but double sacrifices herself

Godborn if you want to use all the endgame demons from the beginning. Newborn if you want to use different demons entirely but still keep the original difficulty curve. Even on Newborn you keep your library and fusion unlocks btw.

I beat the game on hard like 5 times with no grind and no mitama DLC. Each run was only like 40-50 hrs too.

Doesn't 100% take like 4+ playthroughs? You need to do both routes, 3 alignments, and Godborn

>kill khonsu

THE FUCK DID YOU SAY?!?

d44ddasdff.jpg - 1280x1280, 471.82K

Tao and Yoko live rent free in MC's spirit world after they do the super hug. You can just summon them out whenever you feel like it.

Its the only way, I swear he'll come back, we can just drag him out of the underworld or fuse some demons into him or something.

Ok so some of these people are giving you retarded answers, don't piss away books and skill ups on your favorite early demons right away. Around mid game you'll be finishing getting all the fusion requirements. Unforgotten memories/ warriors conception, all of the prayer of xyz skills and obviously maxed out demon skill slots. After you have that take your favorite lowlevel Chudemon and level it up 5ish-10 times. There's 4 elemtnal demons Aeros Earthys etc you use those to Defuse your demons into lower level versions, check in game which one you need using the compendium fusions to derank your demon essentially. You should be fusing down into a material that goes back into the demon you want. After that level the defused material again 5-10x then acquire the other half, optional step here you can use a fusion calculator on the other half to put new skills on your beloved low level shitter. After you're done adding skills, level it up then fuse them back into the original demon you should see a massive stat increase + added skills you'll have to do this a few times but after level 60-70 it should be good the rest of the game unless you want new skills, when you're sure you're done THEN use skill books and sutra potentials

Or you just feed them level/stat boosting items and give skills from essences. If you have your demons with you the whole time they'll get free stat ups in demon haunts too. Face it old man, fusion calculators are obsolete.

Not everyone plays on the journo mode DLC anon some of us play on reap difficulties

The other anon is correct from an optimization stand point. The refusion method is how you make broken super demons. However, none of that is required, as you say you can just power up demon as is and you'll be fine even against super bosses.

You act like its difficult to grind .itamas even without the dlc, it just takes longer.

Yeah.

I feel like the random stat allocation of demon haunt always fucks me over so I just opt for refusion but if it works for you all the better

I’ve played through the game twice on Hard and never heard of this defuse method and was over leveled for most content by just doing quests. No mitama dlc
Maybe in godborn if I ever do that I would go that hard at breaking the game

But level 999 trials tho???

have to abuse infinite danu/dagda loops anyway

I kept Artemis past her usefulness because she's cute

I tried P3 a few days ago and I was extremely disappointed
it just shit out 10 systems at you at the very beginning and it's annoying
plus the gameplay consist of running through a bland corridor fighting the same shit over and over again

is this any different? how about p5?

How hard is Godborn? I played through Vengeance, might replay on Creation but I'm not sure what to expect. I'm kind of a brainlet so that needs to be factored in, managed to beat Demibean and Satan though. The endgoal would be to beat Masakado.

BREED Cleopatra and frolicing my dick 24/7

If you use Konoha Sakuya you didn't beat the game

This is a gameplay-focused creature collector with no social links.

If you beat the superbosses you aren't a brainlet it was on hard, right?
Godborn is mostly a grinding game, you buy stat ups as long as you have money so...

I had to buy her to beat Satan. It's funny seeing people here bitch about nothingburger microtransactions in AAA games while Fatlus just slaps this literal p2w party member as DLC and no one bats an eye.

how can qadistu even compete?

I played creation first and thought it was pretty damn good. The overworlds are a fine replacement for dungeons altghough I think SMT3 still has a much stronger 'atmosphere'. I'm curious to see if Vengeance improves any of this

Hell yeah, have fun. I still need to finish my godborne hard run. My goty 2024

Prepare to do the same overworlds again!

I use her because persona 4 was the first smt game I played and yukiko was always in my party.
Also because I prefer shinto gods to a lot of other represented mythologies.

So its a poorly kept secret that Shiva is designed the way he is to get people to buy the magatama farming dlc? You have to do a ton of grinding to be capable doing the true end

Persona has always been the shitter game it's more popular because people with actual autism latch onto the social link aspect since they can't make friends in person. This game caters to all those issues they have/had in high school and allows them to relive it as the "hero" it's just a slopge and if you hate that type of shit but still wanna use the creature collector and fusion then any other mainline SMT series would do you better

Far as I've heard theres always a boss that requires a specific party build to defeat.

No, they're all the same in that way. I still don't get the decision to do away with press turn in favour of one more system. Game already plays itself. Most engaging aspect is persona fusion and you have 0 incentive to do it because the games are ez

She's pretty great though, her guard beats pierce and she has two tier defense debuff

what was his fucking problem?

dazai.jpg - 355x500, 40.29K

It was more true for the original game. Many changes the biggest being less harsh level scaling means it’s not really true anymore.

P3 and 4 have the randomised dungeons. P5 dungeons have set layout except for one.
People like persona for the social links, music, and themes. Gameplay is babies first smt. Its all a spin-off.

I rolled over Shiva without a second thought. I can't even tell you if he has a gimmick (he summoned demons, is that it?). He ain't shit compared to Demi/Satan

It's very different. P5 too although they have very different philosophies. VV is based around 3D movement environments while P5 is a lot of indoor environments but they're all super unique unlike P3, and it plays more like an RPG version of Sly Cooper.

Satan's marathon fight is designed to have you buy Sakuya to recover MP

how did we go from johnny boy to this mega ass faggot

she's great for a while, don't get me wrong. saintstrike and the defense debuff are really nice when you get them. she just takes some investment to keep useful later, I think she's skewed to both str and magic too

It's really not harder so much as it's a mode that lets you play with endgame demons all game long as opposed to using them only in the last few hours.

How easy is normal?
I'm finding the game rather tedious to play on hard outside of boss fights frankly, every random encounter seems to have just so much HP and it makes me just avoid encounters as much as humanly possible. I might just be getting burned out by the side quests and collecting random stuff on the overworld though...

I was considering dropping the difficulty but I like the boss encounters and how they're tuned so far.

Haha yea

Crappy parents and looking for validation

That wasn't true even in the base game.

t. Beat Shiva a dozen times now without ever grinding once.

Very easy past first area. In all difficulties game opens up the more options you get. Hard is a good middle ground

It's actually designed around you making an entire party of demons and reserve demons to switch through his different phases.

I would say stay with hard since you get stronger to enemies as you get exponentially better skills and demons but I'm also a bit of a masochist with JRPGs in general so take it with a grain of salt.

great exploration and environments
excellent music
party building is great (don't be stingy with your essences)
a lot of the human characters are annoying

have fun, I loved it.

this nigga jumpscared me

My favorite song is that penultimate map where you are fighting odin and zeus.

glad he popped up as a boss in place of Shiva's doorman, also his theme is great

Should I play Creation first? How much shared content is there between Creation and Vengeance?

Play vengeance. Creation replaces the 3rd area with a different one, has a diverging story line and exclusive bosses. I'd do vengeance properly then godborne run of creation after

Play vengence you're missing nothing amd have access to more shit

Ok thanks bros.

A lot of the game is shared between them although the story is totally different. They have different/remixed bosses and the third act of four is totally different between both routes but mostly everything else is the same.

Overall Vengeance is better than Creation so if you only do one, do Vengeance but actually both routes are kind of incomplete without information you learn on the other route. There's some charm to Creation too if you just want to play the game without having to bother with the story since it has less and less frequent story content.

I think playing creation previously made vengeance more enjoyable than it would've been alone, but vengeance is just better overall.

I played the original and then Vengeance, it feels like they both compliment each other. I can't imagine enjoying Vengeance's plot that much when some stuff just kind of happens off-screen. The whole pantheon squabbling is badass as af and I was taken aback that it was just omitted from Vengeance, they're all just suddenly at each other's throats.

I appreciated the alternate story surrounding the attack on the school in Vengeance. probably one of the more improved story sections, but maybe just because it felt so lacking in Creation.

I still haven't beaten true masakado, that nigger is insane

I only beat regular Masakados since I was on Godborn and he gets a massive power boost. Just that was painful. When I get back to CoC on newborn I'll do true Masakados.

This is really the only problem with playing Vengeance first, a lot of stuff is told to you assuming you already played the original so things that were big cool revelations there are like oh yeah that's still going on btw.

I really like the dialogue in the haunt but I do not like the pocket dimension itself. If they ever do VI I hope they somehow integrate those while you're dungeon crawlan.

The haunt is just a waste of time, having to check every 3 minutes for +3 agility or something equally pointless feels like a chore

Then don't do it? The game is balanced around you never going to the haunt.

Glad we agree it's pointless

demons have some funny comments sometimes, I find it a fun thing to do between cleaning areas

The original idea (from OG V) was that Leyline Points were like demonic rail stations, so you'd arrive and there'd be a bunch of demons hanging out. Haunts are probably what they did to make that idea real without having serious rework for each save area.

Take that back.

Sex with Tao
And demon women.

i use the mod that gives her big tits

Heretical but based

Why do even modern JRPGs stick to the time-wasting 100 trashmob encounters before unique boss design? BG3 proved you could make each and every encounter unique and the game is better for it.

Sex with dog

Vengeance literally has the same philosophy as BG3 where the economy is designed around you fighting bosses and quest battles. You get comparatively less exp from fighting mobs, they're there to ambush you as you're exploring or if you want to test things out but you're really meant to be avoiding FoE.

Amazing how she went from shit tier to being the second best Law rep, with Zayin being first.

Most encounters in bg3 are gimmicks and boring after the first playthrough the grindy jrpg trashmobs are better in the long run because you can use them for exp or drop farming. Once you kill something in bg3 it's dead forever

Also trash mobs need to remain even if the game is designed around bosses because you need to be able to recruit more demons.

alice sex

If I haven’t played original SMT V, should I play Creation or Vengeance first? What reasons are there to play the original Creation route?

They are completely different stories, play creation first so that vengeance is your new game + because creation was half-baked.

because creation was half-baked.

Vengeance was too

drops half of the game cast because they were already used in the other two

Tao is still as interesting as watching paint dry

Vengeance cuts out content to make room for its new stuff so its more like a step forward and one backward.

Both have unique bosses (though CoV allows you to fight CoC bosses by talking to some npc). Each has a unique superboss.
If you're only gonna play once (this is a long game) pick Vengeance because it's better. If you plan on multiple playthroughs (this is a long game) do Creation first

Creation is the OG game, Vengeance is the new story. Vengeance is better but both routes compliment each other and have events and screnes that explain things the other route doesn't.

For example, Dazai and Abdiel have a big focus in Creation but significantly less in Vengeance, Atsuta and Koshimizu get way more in Vengeance and way less in Creation. There are also bosses and demons unique (including a super boss) to CoC so if you want to see/do everything you eventually want to do both.

this but with cat

Your allignment differs from mine...

I've been playing Godborn and it's pretty fun but it sucks enemies will never run away from you anymore and this game's Estoma is bad.

alice the most overpowered little lady

it just shit out 10 systems at you at the very beginning and it's annoying

Huh? Persona games are a lot more simple than SMT. Persona 3 is one of my favorite games of all time and my first exposure to it was when I played on ps2 and it didn't let me know what the fuck a tarukaja was unless I used it in battle.

Wow that is some garbage art, isn't there a more flattering illustration of him?

Atlus superbosses are traditionally some of the most retarded puzzle boss shit you will ever experience.
It's like Simon Says but Simon expects you to read his mind or he kills you instantly.

The haunt is my favorite part of the game, I love hearing what the demons have to say

There's nothing flattering about Dazai.

pic

Yes.

simon doesn't like that you have the audacity to drain/reflect/block an element and nukes you because of it

100 trashmob encounters before unique boss design?

Walk around them, bro. If your problem is that the game expects you to fight something then maybe you don't enjoy the game period.

There's no reason to play this ugly ass shit for clout when Clair Obscur exists.

The Joker fight in P3 Episode Aigis is the most extreme example of that. It's like a parody.

can't null/drain/reflect or you get Sinful Shelled.

can't debuff all 3 stats, 2 at most or sinful shell.

can't start the battle with charge/concnetrate on anyone or sinful shell

can't crit or knockdown or sinful shell

can't do too much damage or sinful shell

can't do too little damage or sinful shell

There is a theory that she os the daughter of Yuko and Hikawa. Maiden who leads the world to the conception giving birth to the goddess who will lead the new king to their throne etc. YHVH spergs out and locks her in Great Will space jail.

Having sexy legs affords her a great deal of leeway.

My condolences anon.

Play Vengeance first. Ignore retards like . VV was purposely made because Creation story is so poorly done. You won't miss anything storywise and Vengeance has a proper story arc. Play Vengeance first, get the sword, then Play Creation. Lots of anon regret playing Creation first back in release date.

"You're my number 3 fan!"

"Number 1 and 2? My mom and dad of course!"

Only you have that theory anon.

It's goyslop. It's 90% running around on unrelated dumb side quests. Nocturne is way better in every way except some QoL.

She just wanted friends.

Can't be, because I read the theory first here

I found it helpful to have Girimekhala use Fierce Roar and Makarakarn. Masakado will only rarely attack anything else and will repeatedly eat shit, especially because of Girimekhala's passive that multiplies Repel damage. But by phase 2 when he starts pulling out Recalcitrant Execution is when it gets dicey and touch-and-go.

Dare I say press turn is the best JRPG turn based combat?

From my understanding, Reasons are given by a god as a form of divine inspiration, and the humans only survive as long as they do against insurmountable odds like Chiaki's arm being lopped off through divine protection. Because Aradia as Yuko's sponsor can exert no power as she is fictitious in that reality, Yuko by extension seemingly has no power to create something new. She can only let the Demi-fiend undo everything as a wrench thrown into the Conception. If a different god had chosen Yuko, I think she would have founded a Reason but probably would have gone off the deep end like her students due to that alternate god's influence.
Aradia doesn't make much sense to me though. So humans observing phenomena and personifying them causes the birth of demons, right? I know it's often unexplained or sometimes just changes depending on the setting, but it seems to be that demons are based off of human thoughts and perceptions. Witnessing something like a lightning bolt and attributing it to a god's power results in the creation of Zeus or Thor. Aradia meanwhile was prayed to by witches but could never exert any power and thus was considered fiction. Does this mean that she's fictitious because the witches never observed any relief from persecution, instead of the other way around? As in, if something happened where a witch was saved from being burned at the stake, and the witches attributed it to Aradia in their faith, would Aradia become a fully fledged demon? It seems to me that praying, "Aradia, if you're real, save us!" won't make her real, but attributing some force to her doing like, "I've been saved, it must have been Aradia!" does.

It's not. Lucy in 5 isn't 3, and demifiend came from another universe like dadga.

It literally isn't but whatever.

reasons are a scam. the system was built to keep yhvh on top. he picks who lives the conception. they all develop reasons where he's still on top and the cycle repeats itself infinitely. demi was a glitch in the system that broke yhvh's power hold over creation. that's why he's pissed in the neutral reset end.

See It's explicitly a sequel to Nocturne (TDE)

The novelty has faded and it is VERY exploitable unless you're in a puzzle fight.
It worked 20 years ago when people were retard who tought spamming the default attack was enough to clear the game and got filtered by Matador.
It doesn't anymore because everyone will cover their weakness while exploiting those of the enemies.

Oh I'm aware they're just iterative experiments and each reset is essentially a new Petri dish that gets closer to the perfect Lawcuck world, and that the Demi-fiend is the bane of creation since he cannot form an apple in his head. I'm just trying to figure out why Aradia is deemed fiction while demons in general aren't, if demons are supposedly formed by human observations, faiths, and legends. I'm running that shitty Nocturne tabletop game and the players are going to call into question why Aradia can't be real. I'm pretty sure it's because no witches were saved by anything that can be attributed to Aradia's influence, so Aradia has no real influence.

Yes and it's not even close

I really like that you can skip your turn and give it to your other party member instead, is there any other JRPG that has similar mechanic

Play on hard.

Dragon Quest XI actually has something like it, but it's a unique skill for Sylvando and only lets him give his turn to female party members. It's very niche but real handy. This kind of mechanic could only exist in games where you don't set all your commands for the round and have them play out like a certain other franchise about recruiting monsters, where the order of selecting commands for your party doesn't have the enemy's commands interspersed like in Octopath Traveler. The latter does have ways to manipulate turns though like making your allies horny so they move up a few places in the turn order.

What if Jack IS my demonfu hussy?

ToT

This but Amabie, broken ass fish

I would fuck her

depends which iteration, most modern Atlus games give the player so many tools and tools to exploit it that it ends up just breaking the entire combat system

max magic attack buff for 2x damage multiplier

max defense debuff for 2x damage multiplier

Fire Boost for 1.5x damage multiplier

max or near LV 99 or higher

max or near max Ma

Ragnarok

dealing over 4,000 damage

Yeah no shit? But considering Surt's max MP doesn't look like it's anywhere near 400 and he's still doing that kind of damage, he's probably well below LV 99. Which means this is on Easy.

My Queen….

Which means this is on Easy.

PS2 version doesn't even have merciful mode.
Normal does not increase player damage.
And this was played on hard mode.

As an adult, yeah. Teens have way more passion than an adult.

I miss it when physical skill consumed HPs

get the sword

w-what sword?

FYI the devs said they made the original story like that on purpose. And the only reason Vengeance exists is because they wanted to push Susano-o myth use because the original game didn't. Both routes are supposed to make one whole narrative.

The one arahabaki gives you and tells you it'll be useful in another timeline?

I stand corrected then, but you're still leveling well past what is necessary to beat Kagutsuchi, and this that setup doesn't help against Lucifer.

it won't be useful, that guy hits too hard with that sword

this that setup doesn't help against Lucifer

The whole point of that squad was to beat lucifer without pierce and they did it.

Are there any differences between the original SMT V and Canon of Creation? Apart from new DLC stuff and QOL changes I guess.

needing 60 extra stat boosts for Surt

massively overprepared for Kagutsuchi because you're gunning for Lucifer

bro the game's easy on this warmup boss, Press Turn sucks

Okay retard

Wow that's a lot of cope.

As far as actually new content goes I think there's just the Masakado stuff. CoC is still a general improvement across the board over vanilla and adds new neat stuff to mess with like the special passive abilities and Demon Haunts, but there's only Masakado for new content.

Masakado superboss and True Masakado superduperboss

Autistic nitpicking plus you got filtered by matador

Press Turn sucks

I don't think he said that, you just interpreted it that way.
If anything, the webm show that an optimized party and strat can win you the fight on auto.
Remember: turn-based RPG are 90% about preparation and only 10% (if even that) about execution.

And that's a lot of disingenuous spam. Hope that's not you.

Welp, I stand corrected.

I don't think he said that, you just interpreted it that way.

Damn, thanks. I wanted an excuse to skip CoC but it sounds like my autism demands me see everything in the game.

Also it sounds like each route unlocks something in the other, so I would have to play the game 3 times at least? God dammit Atlus

I haven't played V but I plan on buying it because I enjoyed the earlier titles so much, someone told me it has a Digimon-like mechanic where you can use pretty much any demon until the endgame instead of forcing you to have a rotating cast of them, can someone tell me how that works? It sounds cool can I kill the final boss with a well fused Jack Frost or something? Currently making my way through pic related on its original PS2 release as I wanna compare the remake to it when it comes out, kinda cool to see demon bros walk around desu.

can someone tell me how that works?

You get items that can boost demons levels stats and affinities and essences to give them new skills.

It sounds cool can I kill the final boss with a well fused Jack Frost or something?

Suboptimal but certainly possible.

Have fun anon.

Every demon can have any 8 skills aside from special uniques

Said skills can eliminate weaknesses outright

Boost items that raise a demon's stats up to the cap

Boost items can raise a demon's affinity with an element up to the cap of +9, which greatly increases the power and decreases the cost of associated skills

There will always be demons who can use these 8 skill slots better, have unique passives that can make or break their effectiveness, and have better affinities out the gate, but you can indeed make a Jack Frost or even a Slime as your go-to for a particular element. It'll take a lot of work though to maximize their worth.

Demons level up slower than the main character so you are encouraged to constantly fuse into higher level demons.

However there are one time use statues in the overworld that grant your entire demon stock a level up, and there are mitama enemies that drop a consumable item that grants a demon level up.
By doing this you can keep lower level demons around longer, but the ideal thing to do is wait until you've got passives that boost stat gains for your demons and have gotten all your skill slots unlocked. Then you take higher level demons and fuse down to make a super Jack Frost or something. That is a completely legitimate way to do it.

You get items that can boost demons levels stats and affinities and essences to give them new skills.

Oh so like incenses but expanded? Yeah no grinding a Jack Frost to whatever the endgame levels are sounds like hell, just a hypothetical scenario. Being able to beat the game with a fixed party might be cool for challenge runs or something.

28.jpg - 1404x1416, 427.8K

You actually get so many items it's fairly doable to bring 2/3 demons to end-game without any effort. As long as you aren't trying to carry your entire team it shouldn't be an issue.

man I love SMT.

already played almost everything megaten related I was interested in, what RPGs available on PC would you guys recommend?

I thought JRPGs were my kinda genre but many of these games are fucking boring, I guess press turn really is that fucking fun.

mtm.jpg - 400x523, 141.86K

Well there's grimoires for boosting levels, incenses for stats and sutras for potentials. Vengeance is VERY generous with grimoires if you don't use them you'll end up hitting the 99/99 limit so the game expects you to boost up some lower level demons if you like them. I've used Idun(level 42) and Cu Chulain(level 52) all the way until level 99 and I still had heaps of level boosting items leftover. Boosting level 20 jack frost to 99 isn't even remotely a challenge or a pain.
Sutras are more rare so save them for those demons who you plan on boosting all the way to 99.

You're going to feel really stupid raising a Jack Frost in particular to 99 in Vengeance and no I will not tell you why

OP if you're still here, I forgot to mention. You should deactivate all the HUD shit from the options especially the minimap.

THERE'S NO NEED TO FEEL DOWN, I SAID

Amanozako is such a cute daughter suster wife

What do you like about it specifically?

what possesses people to act like this

definitely check out the Bravely Default series, they have a fun turn based combat as well.

I dunno, I guess SMT VV mindbreaking some guy who probably bought the vanilla release and had insane buyer's remorse. The spam from last year started right after VV released and included flaccid complaints like autobattle being a thing.

Her game was fun!

I played and like the original version which I already found to be the best SMT or at least better than 4 and 3 and everyone likes VV even more so it makes me wonder how incredible this version really is, or maybe it just polishes shit that I had a higher than average tolerance for due to finding the rest to be so good

It focuses on V's strength and tries to cover its weaknesses. It's a version made by people who truly understood the original

He did the same shit for VV when it released and switched to Nocturne later for some reason.

Yakumo's property

Out of curiosity, has anyone else here played the original NES Megami Tensei?

heh you want to shower me in affection and motherly protectiveness...?
FFFFFFUCK YOU BITCH DIE

nwf.jpg - 1921x1080, 831.57K

the game makes a point that if the MC didn't rise above his nature he would have turned into Yakumo and treated Aogami like a beaten house wife

it was like looking into a bad future version of himself

Kind of kino actually.

her being the only qadistu not dressed like a complete whore makes it work for me. what's she hiding under that thin layer of fabric?

doll joints

in the route where you listen to Yakumo more, CoC, you have the option to be far more of a cunt to Aogami in choices

in the route where Yoko reveals Yakumo to be a hypocritical, mentally ill wife beater, CoV, you can only be nice to Aogami

I have to wonder why it took Yoko to make him see Yakumo for who he really was and why he nearly saw him as a role model in the original route.

Men are traditionally advised not to be alone, sleep alone, or enter the water during the times of the week when Agrat is most powerful, lest they fall under her spell.

So, she probably keeps a little black book full of a list of anons who are obsessed with her

Is physical STR Nahobino still the strongest?

My goty of last year, enjoy it op and play canon of vengance first

I've been thinking about it but I still need to play the original SMT and also things like DDS and P2. My backlog of even just Megaten keeps growing.

Everything is viable now.

12 hour 1 man thread.

IV won.

so far for endgame i ahve seen 3 playstyles

your marakumo

magic gets Ikuyumi

the new dodge build with the new ligh skill(dont remenber the name)

there is also tank build but i never tried that one

IV fag still at it

I ran the evasion build from Tsukuyomi essences in endgame, it felt busted. It's still STR.
But certain demons are better damage dealers than Nahobino, so a dedicated Evergreen Dance support slut to is probably optimal

I think the most glaring flaw of the rerelease is the 2 Canon setup.
Everyone new to the game who asks about it gets shoehorned to do Vengeance route first and only by original players who were understandably miffed after being sold the beta test release of V years earlier. Yet the themes only really stick the landing if you play and think a bit about what happens in both routes. Only playing CoV makes so many players miss out on seeing exactly how certain characters could only change for the better by key factors, the lessons learned and the regrets mounted in the pursuit of vengeance, and to be able to view the whole picture of what the game tried to convey.
