When Kiritsugu died, they let Shirou live there. Whether or not he lives there for free is unclear, but he refers to Taiga as being "family of the landlord." Later on in one of Heaven's Feel endings Sakura lives there after Shirou dies.

Nah, Shirou owns it. Fujimura handles any money involved in inheritance and uses it to cover property taxes or things generally above Shirou's paygrade. All Shirou handles is utilities and living expenses.

He's a jack-of-all-trades, master-of-none, yet. Also, I think he's a bit too compatible with Independent Action. Servants are at their strongest when they're working alongside a competent Master, but since Emiya excels at working on his own, he can be overcome by a good Master/Servant duo.
Luckily for him, the majority of Masters are incompetent.
Emiya was enough of a threat to annoy Gilgamesh enough to wait for an opportunity to stealth kill him. Shirou is the one that is shit since he only just begins to understand how his magic works by the end of the first two routes

Unlimited Blade Works is an excellent counter to Gate of Babylon due to its superior weapon draw speed. Gilgamesh instinctively knew that Archer was a threat.
His ability is versatile, but it doesn't make him the strongest. For instance, take Caliburn. When he copies Caliburn, he can also copy Saber's arm movements. But he can't copy her Instinct, Mana Burst, Dragon Core, general athleticism or combat experience. Like even with another Servant's weapon, he'll never be as good with it as they are.
