So.... why do we think that this is bad?

So.... why do we think that this is bad?

Its not, in many ways its the best Dark Souls game. Its the only one with omnidirectional rolling that runs at 60 fps on everything, without ER's watered down open world and shitty boss design.

It rips off DS1 too much

They're all Demons Souls sequels that is itself a shameless Berserk rip off.

muh r1 and dodgeroll spam

What you do think the core gameplay of the entire series is.

anythings better than DaS2

It's great. My only issue is that too much of it is grey. I didn't even mind all the swamps, although I did crack up when I got to Ringed City and they managed to fit another swamp in there

The nonstop ambushes and tricks were annoying the first time and only slow you down on replays but it's still pretty fun.

I wish the progression wasn't as linear as it was, other than that it's fine

why do so many people here hate it then?

They are fans of the other souls games like DaS2 or BB, and must show their superiority. It's all infighting.

I mean...we ARE on Anon Babble

The reason I dislike it is because it really was what started with 'bullshit for the sake of bullshit'
Like the farron swamp area or the fucking crabs in the water that slows you down or the shit like Heysel

It really went with the idea of 'linear as shit, big areas, little checkpoints, bullshit AI, good luck'
It's when I started having to go from 'this is a fun build and I'm struggling at times but learning' to 'I need to look at the optimial way to pass the area'
It was no longer and action game and becamse a fucking gear check game. Just like ER did (albeit ER can be mitiigated as it gives the player much more bullshit too)

There's very little deviation in the path you can take throughout the game whereas in the prior Souls games you had much more freedom.
The game really starts to move away from the slow and methodical gameplay of the prior games in favor of flashy moves.
The prior games had elements from past games, sure, but 3 really leans hard into the memberberries and feels like it lacks an identity.
Also, I don't mind the bosses, but it's weird that 2 was commonly criticized at the time for having "too many armored humanoid bosses" when 3 has plenty of armored humanoid bosses except they light themselves on fire partway through.
In general it's pretty clear that 3 is commonly favored over 2 for graphicfag reasons. If 2 never had the graphics downgrade for the sake of consoles there wouldn't be a question.

Nostalgia and low IQ. Most people that play souls games are absolute morons. This prevents them from even recognizing when the gameplay gets better, and if they do they can't accept it and lash out

too grimdark
too linear
too fast

I played it after Elden Ring expecting more Elden Ring, but... oof

i played elden ring

im sorry man...

ds3 is miles better than er what are you talking about

and shitty boss design.

DS3 has the worst bosses in any From game since the PS3

Anon Babble hates Games in general

Only DaS2 faggots hate the game.

DS3 is the From game where the actually only viable defensive option is rolling. It also has revolting art design, half the bosses are gimmicks, the magic is completely fucking useless, and the weapon balance started bad and barely ever got better. Infusions were a joke and the physical ones were the only ones worth using, even beyond the fact that the others were made artificially difficult to access for no reason by the dumbass coal system. The game is pathetically linear, the enemy variety is pretty poor by From's standards, and a ton of the game looks weird because they forgot to turn off the bloodborne moon lighting.

In general it's pretty clear that 3 is commonly favored over 2 for graphicfag reasons.

If 2 never had the graphics downgrade for the sake of consoles there wouldn't be a question.

DS2fags are so delusional.

It's not bad at all and in fact it's the best Souls experience you'll ever get.

DS3 has the most great bosses of any From game
Gundyr
Vordt
Watchers
Pontiff
Aldrich
Dancer
Nameless
Friede
Midir

Hard disagree, the innovations on ds3 are obvious. Also I knew it would be super easy comparatively when I beat the first guy (that unstabs himself and becomes a worm) hitless on the first encounter. Also too grey, very jarring after Elden Ring. Also the story is probably the worst in the trilogy and worse than Elden Ring. Even ds2 was better, come on man

This isn't bad but it's too obvious.

You're on Anon Babble. I do think the early-game is a bit of a slog, but it's obviously still a great game

You're the trannies who make the elden ring hate threads aren't you? You were just 3 fags who were upset that people stopped jerking off over the game you liked because it was your first because you were 12 when it came out.

vordt

aldritch

Not great bosses by any stretch. And how could you leave out Gael, he's literally the best boss in the whole game

Vordt

Mediocre

Watchers

Mediocre and extremely overrated

Pontiff

Annoying and stupid if played without parrying, too easy if you do parry

Midir

Retard boss that spends 2 thirds of the fight running the fuck away. Second worst dragon fight in the series besides the DS2 ancient dragon, and you're not even supposed to fight him.

I really don't like how the upgrade materiel are scattered in this game. You can only get 4 titanite chunks before Dancer(3 if you don't trade with the crow) then after you beat her the game bombards you with chunks. Very unbalanced

breh I can tell I'm jumping in on a discourse that started when I was in kindergarten so the trolling has been done to death but I'm giving you my real opinion. I bought the trilogy after beating Elden Ring right after it came out

Pontiff annoying and stupid

God forbid you have to pay attention to 2 enemies . Not like that’s common in souls or anything.

Midir Retar-

Oh it’s bait

DS3 was when Fromsoft first began to abandon the focus on level design in their games, they clearly don't want to bother with it anymore, that's the reason why we now have games like Nightreign and Duskbloods.

shit graphics

weird vaseline filter

shot bosses

shit music

lame final boss

ugly HUD

Oceiros looks straightt out of a ps2 game

It's kind of strange how aggressively linear the game is, but then also lets you kill dancer early so that you can go to lothric castle almost immediately, but then still blocks access to the twin princes for no reason. So the only reason to kill dancer early is to get a +9 weapon early and trivialize the entire rest of the game.

Midir fans are secondaries who have not played the game, it's a shit fight, for all the same reasons elden beast is a shit fight.

runs at 60 fps on everything

Not on ps4

I don't think its bad. I just think its overrated by a loud minority of people that played it as their first souls game.

I wouldn't say Midir is shit, just boring. Casuals think he's super hard for some reason even though he has one of the most scripted battles out there. Demon Prince definitely a better boss than him.

NOT affected by Bloodborne

I mean, I beat the game recently without dying to Midir, Nameless King, or Gael once
It’s not that hard

Bad? Says who? I’ll fight them with my weaponfu

I've been playing Souls since DeS came out on PS3. The fuck are you on about?

swamp cathedral swamp swamp cathedral

not bad just overrated because it was broccoli's hair first souls game

judging by that image you're also brown

innovations on ds3 are obvious

go on, enlighten us

Ds3>2>Demon Souls>1 > Elden shart

Open world is a slop idea game was piss boring and empty as hell ds3 had the best ideas some of the best pvp zones and since the playerbase was so large the most enjoyable release. All of them are worse than Nioh 2 though

Tasteful choice. The greataxes were honestly kino in DS3, Dragonslayer gaxe and I went through some great PVP fights, the poise on the fp move always caught at least one over eager bastard unawares

I played it for the first time after playing Elden Ring and thought it was great. Irithyll Dungeon was top tier and felt like a worthy successor to the tower of Latria.

Ds3>2>Demon Souls>1 > Elden shart

zoom zoom

The thing is even with the linear design they could still put a bit more chunks in the Pontiff/Aldritch + Yhorm paths. The Pontiff/Aldritch path has 0 chunks and the Yhorm path only has 2, it's pathetic

Linear dog shit

Levels are EZ af

Bosses are the only challenge

Dodge + R1 is easier than ever

Less RPG mechanics

Ruined PvP

Bonfires spam

'member berries DS1

'safe', scared to trick the player like earlier games

Overall, It's a step down from DeS/DS1/DS2/BB

it's the most boring souls game to replay. everything between the bosses is a slog. ds1 and ds2 are all about exploration and the levels, ds3 is all about the bosses

What an absolutely abhorrent opinion. You should be ashamed of yourself.

There's still different paths, ledges, alleys to explore. The game doesn't have to have to be le interconnected. I enjoyed DS3 and actually found it to be one of the better souls games once you've played all of them a bunch of times

DS3 was when Fromsoft first began to abandon the focus on level design in their games

posts one of the best levels from software has ever designed

the correct order is ds1>BB>elden ring>sekiro>ds3>DeS>ds2 btw ds2 is a good game but feels the worst to play out of all of them imo

knight
