So the main part of the gacha system is that you collect outfits. You need a full outfit set to get the set bonus (the important part).
They released a new high-quality set with 1 extra (not even visible at all at any time) clothing piece specifically to bloat the item set and thus make you waste more pulls to finish the set.
This pissed off a lot of people, so they sent out an apology 10-pull and a letter basically saying "we promise not to increase the overall cost of 5* sets anymore" which basically told everyone "we plan to be scummy bastards and if we ever need more money, we'll release 6* sets instead."
The patch replaced the opening story, which was simple and whimsical and well-loved and replaced with some super-over-the-top bullshit which really dragged it down and also forced every player to go through it.
They added multiplayer. It doesn't work.
They introduced literally hundreds of bugs and the previously-well-optimized game somehow went to shit. Tons of quests just randomly can't finish so players have to leave them sitting there unfinished... unless of course it's the tutorial quest, in which case many new players end up hardlocked out of getting into the game.
THIS IS THE BIG ONE HERE
They introduced a chroma system so you can have any outfit in just about any color you could possibly want with one excruciatingly large caveat. It's locked behind getting duplicates of the given outfit (well, piece, but the set is more relevant because you can't get a duplicate piece until you finish the whole set). The colors are also in an arbitrary order, so you can't pick and choose the colors you want and if what you want takes 5 full fucking dupes, well.. get dumping. :^)
Suffice to say, everyone's mad.
The biggest kicker is they beta tested the chroma system in an event prior to this big update.
It just required you to grind for some event currency and had 0 cost besides a bit of your time and was very well-received, so people expected this system to be fucking fantastic when it rolled out for everything, which felt like a huge slap in the face.

No one is fine with a comfortable baseline the suites always have to have more more more so then they introduced faggot shit like this and ruin the whole fucking thing. Chinese didnt have problem with a game that have you rolling robots but you also needed the pilot and its weapon to fully activate the special skills making it pointless to swap pilots since it locked you from skills.
