Just finished MD Proficiency Test and I still don't get why activating Astrograph Sorcerer as Chain Link 2 means I can't activate Purple Poison Magician as Chain Link 3.
Aren't these two effects optional effects with an "If" which means I can activate them in any order I want?

SEGOC works differently in the OCG. For hand effects to trigger, every single public knowledge effect has to trigger first, so that means Purple Poison becomes cl2 (or cl1) alongside Electrumite, while Astrograph will become CL3 barring any opponent's interaction. That's why you can't chainblock with hand effects in Master Duel unlike in the TCG, which is why cards like Simorgh Bird of Perfection in Floowandereeze are worse here

In the TCG you'd be correct. But OCG+MD works slightly differently. Astrograph triggers in hand. Since the hand is a hidden information zone, that means that it works more like a quick effect for building chains.
This is also why Ghost Mourner is worse in TCG since using it on your turn will cause it to be chain link 1 so it can't negate trigger effects of monsters summoned by the opponent on your turn.
