The European prices were the first western prices to come out, which did indeed reveal that Mario Kart was 90 eurobux for the physical version, and given that there was no consistent or confirmed information for a good while about USD pricing afterwards, it wasn't unreasonable for people to extrapolate that the USD pricing would numerically follow. It took Nintendo fucking DAYS to get USD information for games out consistently and clearly.

The Switch 2 won't have emulators at launch so Nintendo is back to having exclusives and Anon Babble is still a PC board at the end of the day so anything not on PC day 1 is often met with derision.
