Where is his scar?

Oh no no no clair obscur bros..what happenee??

Play it.

TRUE GOTY 2025 SOON.
coe33 wont stand a chance

esl bro
i dont think you belong here

he gommaged, maelle had to repaint him
she also made him mortal, which is why he looks a bit older

if you could grow old, would you find a reason to smile?

the answer was no

e33 didnt sell gangbusters untill word of mouth went around of how good it was

took a week to reach a million and then like 3 days for 2m.

Psn leaderboard showed more people were playing e33 than oblivion

Sorry Maelle, it' time to stop painting.

Been playing games since the beginning of the 3d era. I don't think this ending will ever be topped. Maele's ending is certified kino.

How? her ending is a horror story

Only if your name is Verso.

I kind of dislike how it was presented as such. It's a horror story for Maelle and painted Verso, sure. But Verso was a fucking traitor who got what he deserved and Maelle was right, there's no life for her beyond the canvas.
The epilogue version of Lumiere is presented in this uncanny way that downplays the significance of the fact that we saved the world. The game wants you to think it wasn't worth it, but I couldn't disagree more.

Also for the people she's effectively enslaved in there

There's no life inside the canvas. It's just a hollow illusion. Are the people in there really even sentient? What happens to her world when she dies, doesn't it just end anyway?

Maelle repainted him without the scar. Because that's how Real Verso was
this also is meant to show that she doesn't actually give a shit about how Verso feels, because he could always heal his scar but kept it for personal reasons

Maelle is an evil woman

Are the people in there really even sentient?

When Aline painted them? Absolutely.
When Alicia tried to repaint them? The two models of copy pasted NPC without animations in the concert makes me want to say no.

The main thing is that the sentience question is irrelevant. Renoir/Clea will either pull Alicia and destroy the Canvas, or destroy it when she dies.

Verso's Canvas is doomed. Even if allowed to persist, it's doomed. The painted can't leave the Canvas, a finite, pocket universe. They will always be subject to the whims of almighty creator gods. Their very existence is a dead end in every direction.
Alicia's, however, isn't. Except if she stays.

1. he let gustave die just to manipulate maelle into doing what he wanted. fuck him, he gets what he fucking deserves.

2. maelle heroically sacrifices her life so that gustave and lumiere can live.

3. verso is forced to live a life he doesn't want in the painting. but alternatively, maelle is forced to live a life she doesn't want in the real world.

i used to be a vero ending retard but on closer examination maelle's ending is the better one in every way.

Maelle did nothing wrong

So, Verso and Verso alone? Everyone else is shown happy.

a shooting star is not a living soul, you fucking retard

So is a fucking shard of Verso's soul and fake Verso himself, dumbass

He also betrayed his Sisters final wish too which was just "stop being a lying deceitful cunt for once in your miserable life" just so he could delete himself.

yes, very happy. its interesting how many of you have face blindness

One must imagine verso happy.

versotards when they realize they're literally engaging in escapism by playing video games

file.png - 679x339, 489.76K

Regardless of who was “right” this is literally a way better ending

NOOOOO THEY AREN'T HAPPY REEEEEE

LMAAAAAAOOOOOOO

mfw the devs cave and make a golden route dlc where Gustave uses his big brain to save everyone

IMG_5685.jpg - 1024x942, 101.03K

yeah, it perfectly encapsulates how the woman mentality will lead to absolute destruction for everyone that allows it.

but muh scary lighting

versotards grappling with their first interaction with themes

Didn't even bother to color her

Aline is pretty fucked up

the planet Earth being destroyed doesn't immediately kill the people living in spaceships, your analogy doesn't make sense

Maelle isn't even paiting LE PERFECT WORLD either, she's just putting thing back and doing a few favors, clearly depending on what the person asks her. Gustave got Sophie back but he didn't ask for get his arm back, he still has the cyborg arm. Lune didn't ask for her parents back so they aren't. Sciel of course got what she always wanted. They aren't puppets, they clearly make their own choices based on what they actually want.

The only person it destroys is her though?

why in this ending, Aline is not back in the canvas?
wasn't the whole point that she couldn't move on?
is Renoir letting Alicia AND Aline die inside of it?

He's the only character who can unironically do this. His converter is what allowed painted people to become ridiculously strong, hell maybe he could usurp admin rights somehow.

I'm starting to think a lot of the versofags didn't even play the game, and they're just copy+pasting their Maruki argument to this game. Even though there are multiple significant differences between the two.

story diverges completely as he rationally, humanely approaches everyone involved in this struggle, from painted family to real world Renoir, managing to find a compromise

the final boss is a power tripping Simon mode Verso

You didn't save anything, bro. You just helped a teenage girl kill overdose on crack. Reconsider your life.

1000008266.png - 882x874, 1009.74K

mentions a spaceship that wasn't in analogy

People in the spaceship are doomed anyway too, because they don't have enough resources without Earth. So what? In the Canvas destroying ending everyone is gommaged at their own pace too and Lune was the last one to die.

The people with 10k hours on League of Legends or WoW are retards too

nope. if she dies in the painting, you can be sure as fuck renoir's torching that thing in the hardest way possible. maelle not leaving the painting dooms lumiere.

Genuinely impressed how real it looks. I don't care if black and white is a crutch, look at those damn eyes.

versofags didn't even play the game

versofags are afraid of close-up shots and got scared after seeing Maelle's ending.

Verso's soul has a will, as showed by the multiple interactions you have with him along the game, the planet and a shooting star does not
If humans find a different planet to live on, they can still survive
The people inside the canvas can never leave the world of Lumiere and they depend on a hunched up boy with a pencil to paint their lives and he doesn't want to paint anymore

This game's story was so ass, such a slap in your face.

It makes you care about Lumiere and its denizens, I cried like a fucking bitch during the gommage scenes, when those vocals hit and Gustave looked into Sophie's eyes repeatedly saying "I'm here" as she vanished away, it was one of the best and most dramatic scenes I've seen in a bideo gay yet.

But then Gustave went on an expedition and 90% of them got massacred right away. Then Gustave himself also got killed, leaving you with a "full pussy" party. Fine, maybe there's a silver lining to all this senseless slaughter, I thought.

But nope, literally everyone got killed at the end of act 2. And then it was revealed that this whole world was fake and "lmaooo you actually cried for them, they were just ChatGPT NPC's kekw". And then Maelle is reborn with a fucking admin account, goes full Daenerys, BTFO's her Dad and everyone's brought back, but it just feels hollow, because none of it matters and they're not real. And she's like hurting herself or some shit, "escapism's not healthy dude don't you see"

I know the writers were going for an arthouse angle and tried to be subversive, but it didn't really work for me. It just soured me on the whole thing. I would've unironically preferred a typical JRPG "a bunch of literally who's kill God" story over... this.

this whole world was fake and "lmaooo you actually cried for them, they were just ChatGPT NPC's kekw"

no dummy you were right the first time, holy shit you're so close to not being retarded

the entire fucking point of act 1 and 2 is to hammer it into you that they ARE real

gustave and sophie

all the lune/sciel stuff in act 1 and 2 including them being instrumental to killing the axons

how are versotards this dense?

yeah, this is my main issue with the story too. if lune or sciel adopted some of the weight of representing lumiere after gustave dies, then maybe it would be better but gus basically represented lumiere, its will to live and fight against the world and the paintress. him dying meant lumiere's no longer fighting. motivation shifts to maelle fighting for revenge for gustave rather than lumiere. it stops being a driving factor of the plot even before the end of act 2.

Anon what?
If Maelle is the only real person left in the painting then only she is the one who is “doomed”
Besides if you played it, you’d know that the parents have spent many lifetimes within other paintings
She’d be in the for a few months at most until she got old

anon, she's dead at the end of her ending. did maellefags not even watch their own ending? it the entire argument of why verso and maelle had their end fight. maelle ending pretty much kills everyone anyways, she just gets to join in instead.

If humans find a different planet to live on, they can still survive

You're making assumptions out of nothing. If a disaster happens right now - humanity is doomed, but that doesn't mean you're AI - that is the point.

Verso's soul

The real Verso is dead and painting has only a shard of his soul that doesn't count as real human.
You and other versotards need to decide already. If you think that Canvas life is fake like VR game, then stop crying about how poor fake Verso and painter boy are. Their opinion doesn't matter and they can be wiped for a real human life any time.

It did make sense from a narrative perspective. Because the entire game is about dealing with loss, and showing how people in different situations deal with loss in different ways. If the narrative really started and ended at some great battle against the evil paintress, it would lose most of its meaning

this also is meant to show that she doesn't actually give a shit about how Verso feels, because he could always heal his scar but kept it for personal reasons

He never told her that so she wouldn't know.

it would lose most of its meaning

Like what? The "escapism bad" message? Fuck it, no one likes that kind of ham fisted moralizing.

if the shard of real human soul doesn't count as a human then that make the people of lumiere maintained by that shard even less than that and it's ok if they all die

anon, NONE of the dessendre family cared about verso's death. they each made it about themselves. they are all sociopaths.

NNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO WHAT DO YOU MEAN I GET TO HAVE A HAREM, A SMOKING HOT 16Y.O SISTERWIFE, PLUS I GET TO PLAY THE PIANO(WHICH IS MY BIGGEST HOBBY)!? HOW COULD THIS HAPPEN TO ME?!!??

I- I hate this life
unironically, what is his problem

what is his problem

piano cuck.png - 1799x1799, 790.28K

Or it's okay to all of them to live, because real human Alicia decided this. But not both "pooor Verso and eeeevil Alicia" or "fake Lumiere, but Verso's shard is different!!!"

thats the real problem isnt it? maelle is too mindbroken by grief to let ANYONE in lumiere die. they are all trapped in the immortal hell now. each one of them forced into verso's position until maelle shits herself to death in the real world.

I never said any of that
My argument was that the people living there were like AI

Once upon a time there was a million planets with billions of planets on them

Suddenly gigantic evil energy spew from the many suns and literally boiled everyone alive

Babies literally screamed in terrors as infinite and eternal pain killed them slowly causing superinfinite amount of human suffering to exist

But was anyone actually hurt?

But the core issue is the exact fucking same.

It's not though. The cure actually allows Antonia to some real and proper life quality even if she might not last as long.
But this is not equivalent to Maelle's situation because Maelle only thinks the painted canvas will give her the best quality of life because she is convinced that her life outside won't get any better. Renoir promises her that it will improve and Verso no doubt thinks so as well. Clea appears to be more ambivalent on the idea of Maelle staying in the canvas or not and appears to more value Maelle making some real decisions of her own for once instead of just being the indecisive girl she was apparently characterised as being. But even Clea herself pretty clearly to respects returning to the real world more.

What Maelle misses is that her family genuinely loves her. When she was last outside of the Canvas her family was truly broken and warranted or not she was to varying degrees blamed for fire too. But most of all Alicia blames herself, she even says it when confronting Renoir. She finds herself unable to cope with reality since she feels like she ruined it. To whatever degree it might be, she appears to hate herself for it. But it's evident with her family reunited that they still accept her, perhaps even when Alicia might not accept herself.
The people of the painted no doubts have their own lives and rights to exist. That they're to varying degrees considered secondary by their makers leaves them as truly a cursed existence. But ignoring that whole bullshit, for Alicia herself, the painted canvas is truly a sedated existence. It's not true healing. Lumiere is no dream and the canvas world is for all intents and purposes real. But for Alicia herself who is essentially a god in that world, with the world bending to her whims, she is practically just lucid dreaming.
The real quality of life for Maelle lies outside. And maybe not immediately, but probably sooner than she'd think.

So why was the Expedition33/LiesOfP narrative-comparison thread deleted?
I wrote in response and it just went poof before I got to post it. And it had been up for over 90 minutes too before it happened.

Was it because the OP was being too aggressive and calling the Verso-camp tards or what?

Because it won't just be piano playing? Verso is her slave and she'll make him do anything she enjoys, which means nonstop:

Sight seeing

Hand holding

Poetry

Shopping

Ice Skating

Picnics

Tea parties

Face sitting

Dancing and singing

Forever.

The real quality of life for Maelle lies outside. And maybe not immediately, but probably sooner than she'd think.

Renoir and Clea have made no steps to convince her that it will get better, Clea just wants her to make her own decisions and her mother genuinely does hate her. Clea is to absorbed in her conflict and Renoir helping Aline. It's all just vague promises that it will get better.

how dare a father stop his daughter from taking fentanyl and dying

OP from that thread here, they said it was for spoilers. I kind of agree, it's the kind of thread I would have been pissed off seeing on the catalog myself. It's been a month though, how long do we have to wait?

not only does he have surivior's guilt, he has survivor's guilt for about 67 Normandys. any happiness he feels is gonna be followed with that much guilt if he should be even having happiness.

OP from that thread here, they said it was for spoilers. I kind of agree

Oh yeah. That's fair.
Though with how many threads like it that I've seen, it just wasn't anything I would have guessed. But kudos to the moderation then. I respect it.

The fucking mods deleted the thread before I could reply to this post and I'll be damn if Iet them take away the two-three minutes I spent writing a response. I hope you're still here anon. Anyways:
It's not closely related really, and it's an ENTIRELY different way of using video games as a medium, but if you're interested I'd suggest Outer Wilds. It's entirely player driven, the only goal in the game is the goal you set for yourself to explore the solar system and learn the story and what's happening. It's a perfect use of a video game as a medium to tell a story. It also has great music. Thematically and morally it's actually quite similar to E33 in a few ways. It's a bit avante garde as a game, since again the only thing driving you is you, but if you really give it a shot you'll discover it has one of the greatest stories told. I mean this with my entire heart and soul when I say Outer Wilds is an "experience" of a game. Also it contrasts nicely to E33, taking a break from a combat heavy game to no combat. Anyways I haven't played a game in a long time until I played Outer Wilds that had me thinking about it for days and weeks after finishing it. E33 was the only game since that to have the same effect on me.

ow.png - 1054x126, 41.08K

Yeah, I haven't played P yet and hid that thread immediately once I realized it's probably about some big story moment. You were being a dick, anon.

this

I think that's precisely what makes it good. It's fucked up, and the not-so-subtle contrast between how it's presented versus the reality of it was really nice.

Why was the scene in black and white? Isn't that what happens when a painter freezes time in the painting?

girl named Alicia

goes into a land full of wonders

Oh, I see...

Cinematic choice

What do we think about expedition 60? Were they really just meant to be a cheeky in-joke mostly meant to justify flags inside the monolith, or is there actual substance there?

Why was the scene in black and white?

because most of the best films in history are

It's a gradient attack.

Verso would have surely loved to play Piano for everyone if he was real.

but for all intents and purposes, he is real!

Arguably. It might even be an easy argument. The entire fake-camp is fucking silly.
But even if we acknowledge that painted existences aren't fake, let's not pretend like it's equivalent to the existences outside the canvas. (On some meta level it might be, who the fuck knows what beings potentially lurk above that reality looking in. But relatively speaking, the painted existences are hierarchically below the quote on quote "real world".)

But one of the elements that I imagine is most crucial to painted Verso's character, is that he is a painted existence with memories of his not so painted original that he was effectively cloned off of in paint. And the fact that the canvas in question, was the creation of his dead original, is likely icing on the cake I imagine.

If his real-world family was at peace then maybe painted Verso could have coped with his painted existence. Maybe. Who knows?
But I think it's pretty clear that painted Verso doesn't and maybe never ever did identify with his painted existence. For the people of Lumiere, the painted canvas is genuinely simply their reality through and through. And that world is for all intents and purposes real. But the painted world doesn't need to be "fake" for Verso to be out of place. A painted existence with the memories of the man from outside, who painted the world in the first place.
Verso is trapped in his canvas. But unlike original Verso, he can't leave it. And while he was given a painted family within the canvas, his family outside of it was destroying themselves over Verso. And ultimately, Verso couldn't help but still consider them his real family in spite of his painted existence. Not surprisingly perhaps, if he carried within him memories mirroring the original man.

LE HORROR STORY

NAH it's meant to indicate the ending is the KINO one.

Verso probably doesn't even wish to be within his canvas. Let alone trapped it until the end of times of the canvas.
And to be forced to humour his little sister, now coping within the canvas just as hard if not harder than their mother, while his family remains broken because of it. And being powerless to prevent it. Powerless to fix anything. And completely unable to live the life of the original Verso he clearly wishes he was. It must be a pretty hellish experience.

Verso did nothing wrong. Maelle also did nothing wrong. Simple as.

ignores her actual father's wishes

ignores the fact that the Canvas will kill her mom

ignores the "final" wish of her last remaining bit of her brother's soul, the brother she killed IRL being a retarded cunt

ignores her new brother's dying sacrifice

forces her dead brother's soul to play the piano like a puppet for all eternity

The bad ending is probably the best example of a woman moment in all of fiction. There's a reason only women and trannies are choosing it.

"Villain" is actually the most sane and reasonable out of the bunch

aline has been in the canvas for an entire lifetime without dying, why can't maelle?
why doesn't she just get out once her friends die of old age?

this but unironically. the game would have been better if they'd played it straight. you wouldn't even have to change anything, just make renoir and aline and the dessendre family exist inside the world instead of in a "real" separate world. but you could keep all their narratives and relationships the same. it would mean so much more.

On some meta level it might be, who the fuck knows what beings potentially lurk above that reality looking in

the game developers

Let alone trapped it until the end of times of the canvas. And to be forced to humour his little sister

Maelle’s ending is basically her forcing the ghost of her older brother to play with her until she dies. Pretty fucked up.

Expedition60 might have been conceptualized as a joke. Maybe even entirely so.
But I still appreciate what they bring to the table even narratively. Their story kind of adds towards the independence and ingenuity of the people of lumiere and painted people at large.

I've seen a lot of people question the degree of free will the painted people even have, since the painters could not only influence them from the moments of their births but also throughout any potential moment of their lives.
But in spite of all that we do see painted people come up with all kinds of novel and ingenious ideas that were unlikely ever thought of by their painters who made them.
We have painted people who oppose the will of Aline. Painted people who oppose the will of Renoir. And Verso might be dead and the remnants of his soul doesn't appear to have much in terms of agency, but it's even suggested that Golgra's rule of gestrals, good or bad, didn't align with Verso's original intentions as he painted it all either.

We know that the people of Lumiere somehow learnt to manipulate chroma, a core building block of their very existence, to craft pictos that can to varying degrees or extents practically warp the rules of their world itself. And then Gustave even managed to make the Lumina Converter, able to take these ability a step even further. Going from chroma to pictos to lumina.
The painted people are obviously a far cry of the painters that are for all intents and purposes gods to their world. But the painted people really managed to mimic and grasp a fraction of their godlike powers for themselves.

With all this in mind I quite appreciate out band of super buff, nudists trying to save their world with bare naked muscles.
They may or may not have been conceptualized as anything serious But I think it's a neat idea that these people were able to accommodate the rules of their world and evidently push their existence to such heights. As painted people.

why doesn't she just get out

why don’t alcoholics just stop drinking?

The ghost would want his little sister to be happy. Painted Verso got what he deserved and will play until Maelle gets bored.

Pic not related.

>ignores the fact that the Canvas will kill her mom

Oh yeah, they actually never addressed this. What prevents Aline from getting back inside now that she knows where the canvas is, and they can't move it anymore (because Alicia is inside).

I guess Renoir and Clea have more work in front of them.

That's the wrong Renoir, anon.

Alicia sanitized him

Real Verso is burnt to crisp

I wonder if (painted)Verso has memories of how he saved Alicia.
He burnt to death so maybe Aline spared him such traumatic memories, be it to spare him the pain or to spare herself the reminder. But she did paint (painted)Alicia burnt, as a very blunt reminder of the tragedy. At least Verso saving Alicia was a very heroic act, so he might have had memories of that act with or without the actual memories of burning to death.

So no matter whether or not he actually has memories of burning to death, if he has memories of having saved Alicia from the fire. Then Maelle's ending is extra fucked.
Dying to save his sister only to be reborn as a painted copy shackled within the canvas, forced to humor her while she throws away the life he literally died to save. And don't think that was what Verso wanted for her when he died for her sake. Even ignoring how the rest of the family was impacted similarly.

The painters should have set up a rehab clinic. Surely the painters council have seen this shit hundreds of times already. The Dessendre's seem well off, and Renoir has been through this same shit so he should get get one established and throw Aline in there away from the household so Alicia can start making the first steps.

This plays in the Verso credits and when you fight the third axon

He doesn't. Aline gave him different memories of that event. The memories she gave him consist of him surviving instead of Alicia.

and Maelle was right, there's no life for her beyond the canvas.

You're a fucking idiot. She had a life if she just stopped being self-centered and grabbed at it. The entirety of the story, and the tragedy, is about selfishness and self-obsession, and Alicia is the most selfish of the entire family. She is the entire reason the story happens, because she went out and got used by the Writers, and cost Verso his life, because she only thought about herself. And now she is doing it all over again in the canvas and stupid bastards like you are going, "Oh my god! It's kino! She saved the people of Lumiere!" No, the people of Lumiere were dead, she brought back copies and we assume they are the same but, like so many of you stupid faggots missed even though it is said directly multiple times and Monoco even has a quest re-emphasizing it, those that are resurrected aren't actually the same, they are missing memories and personality aspects, and are actually different, new people.

maelle heroically sacrifices her life so that gustave and lumiere can live.

You're a fucking idiot too. Look up what heroic and sacrifice mean. Her actions don't fit either word, much less the combination.

Also, reminder you dumb fuck, Verso was all aboard the Lumiere savior train until he saw Alicia blatantly lie to Renoir about her intentions with the canvas. And when confronted, she admits it, even admitting she doesn't give a fuck about the people Lumiere, she just cares about being able to feel whole.

And here's the funny thing, all Alicia had to do was leave the canvas, no be a selfish, self-absorbed cunt, and help Aline grieve over the tragedy that disfigured Alicia and Verso his life —both things, by the way, reminder, dumbass, are at least partially, or could even be argued wholly, Alicia's fault in the first place. But does she help her family grieve? Nope. And now the canvas is on a timer again. Selfish cunt.

What prevents Aline from getting back inside now

Why isn't she back in Maelle's ending then?

(painted) Alicia

I have so many questions about this character, like

why is the only black and white (monochrome) person in the canvas

what's with the gestapo outfit

what's with the mask

why does she have a time stop power, seems op af for just a painted rando

Verso was all aboard the Lumiere savior train

Untrue as confirmed by Monoco. Verso was lying again as usual, he wanted to commit genocide and finish the job this time.

If Aline rejoined the canvas. Would the presence of the other be a reality check for either of them? Or would they feed each others' delusions and thus just cope harder?
Withering away within the canvas by themselves might be one thing but would they still feel comfortable withering away within the canvas, seeing the other do it alongside them?

Untrue as confirmed by Monoco

No? At most he wanted to kill himself, but he was 100% behind saving lumiere, otherwise he would have just murdered Alicia and help renoir.
Retard.

idk, too busy coughing her lungs out I guess, but she'll be back once she recovers. remember, the time moves much slower in the painting, so for all we know it's only been like an hour irl since the final boss

instead of Alicia

Painted Alicia lives though. Burnt but not fatally so.
So wouldn't the painted "canon" be that Verso managed to save his sister's life, too late not to scar her, but successfully enough to not cripple himself?

No, the people of Lumiere were dead

And your suggestiom is giving the one who killed them what he wants LMAOM fucking retard.

Verso was all aboard the Lumiere savior train

You didn't play the game. Play it.

all Alicia had to do was leave the canvas

Play the game.

only counting physical units, which were way underproduced and are still sold out

Nice try

shouldn't have called him an old man, Alan

Hmm. Good point. I just remember that Painted Verso remembers himself surviving. Not sure if it's implied Alicia died or not in that version of the memories, would have to replay it.

This game is so me. If anyone asks me how I would describe my personality I would just say CLAIR OBSCUR

Finally, a good fucking question and a possible plot hole. These threads were going in circles.

I don't know, maybe Renoir physically restrains her

At most he wanted to kill himself,

Kill himself while being immortal? How is he gonna go about with that? Even if he dies then why would Monoco say that there would be no future to revive Noco if it was up to Verso? You are a fucking shitposting retard who, as said by the other post, didn't play the game.

If anyone asks me how I would describe my personality I would just say CLAIR OBSCUR

my personality is light-dark

lmao, don't say that anon, people will think you're bipolar

Gustave got Sophie back but he didn't ask for get his arm back, he still has the cyborg arm.

What a stupid fucking argument. How do you manage to even have the intellectual capacity to breathe? Since we know nothing about his arm we don't if he ever had a human arm in the first place. Also, since Alicia is a selfish cunt who wants things her way, she wouldn't want Gustave to have a whole arm, you fucking idiot, because then that would not match her memories of him.

You are a fucking idiot because you are confusing "LE PERFECT WORLD!!1!" with Alicia's perfect world. Moron. Oh, what's that? You are starting to understand there is a difference now? Are you starting to understand that the happy ending erases something fundamental, that the entirety of their wants and needs, their growth, their sentience, was dependent on the tragedy they experienced, and Alicia is ripping that all away? That even if the people of Lumiere could have gotten back what they wanted it was for them to do, not for Alicia to hand to them on a silver platter? Do you understand that at all? No. Of course you don't. You just see a few smiles and don't think about what it actually means.

I think the biggest problem is painting Verso has all his old memories so he knows what the real world is like and he can never go back

You are a depressed Frenchman with a certain affinity for fine arts and you can't choose between killing yourself or living in what's basically a fantasy world to flee from your real life problems?

why does she have a time stop power, seems op af for just a painted rando

My take is that it's not actually the painted version stopping time but just forming a sort of mental connection to the real Alicia that uses Real Alicia's paintress powers since I'm sure every time it's done real Alicia is always able to move

Sure and the other two songs with names corresponding to Verso and Maelle's endings play in other places too but there's still that strange pattern of A Life to Love, A Life to Paint, and A Life to Dream with only the last one not being an ending

36/40 for a filthy gaijin game that treads on their glorious JRPGs, without a Japanese dub, and with a mediocre Japanese localization, is very good.

It is kind of addressed by the game though. Renoir directly addresses it at the very start of act3, arguing that the destruction of the canvas is the only way. That Aline would never be able to give up on the canvas and that she would make it her life's mission to return to it even if they hid the canvas somewhere.
That may just be Renoir's analysis, but it still suggests that Aline is more than likely to hop back inside some time post Maelle's ending. It's genuinely part of why Verso decides to go scorched earth.

The ending sequence with the bout between Maelle and Verso might have a huge focus on Maelle. What with her being a present and active party and her having a one of the two ending dedicated to her.
But the catalyst of Verso abandoning Expedition33 appears to have been when Aline hopped back into the canvas to help fight Renoir, only for Renoir to show how she suffers outside.
Needless to say, I don't think Verso painted his canvas with the intent of his mother and sister dying there.

Also, what was this parable about? I didn't get it. I guess the hole could be the lost eye, but beyond that?

I DONT THINK SO.

- 36/40 to The First Berserker: Khazan, Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii ;
- 38/40 to Dynasty Warriors: Origins ;
- 39/40 to Monster Hunter Wilds

why is the only black and white (monochrome) person in the canvas

Aline hated her so much she didn't even bother use paint her with color.

His converter is what allowed painted people to become ridiculously strong

Expedition 60 begs to differ.

why is the only black and white (monochrome)

Aline left her unfinished

Painted Alicia's letter alludes to this ending existing as well.
It has to happen

all Japanese games

Khazan is on the fence, but Japs enjoy some gookslop on occasion like Blue Archive

the actual Axon is small, pathetic and useless, hiding in a construct that reaches for the heavens

He wants her to come out and touch some grass I suppose

That may just be Renoir's analysis

It is. Aline is not back in Maelle's ending.

What was the lumina converter anyway? His arm? After his death Lune goes all crazy "we're doomed without a lumina converter, we have to wait for exp 32", then Verso brings the arm back, and I thought that's the converter, but then they bury the arm, soooo? What is it?

Une vie à t'aimer - A Life to Love

11 minutes long

Verso's ending

Une vie à peindre - A Life to Paint

11 minutes long

Maelle's ending

Une vie à rêver - A Life to Dream Of

11 minutes long

Alicia's undelivered letter

the lyrics are an incomprehensible language

She is going to fix everything.

But then nobody would pick “le bittersweet, makes you le think” endings

with Alicia's perfect world

Why would Alicia's perfect world include Sciel's husband but not Lune's parents?

That even if the people of Lumiere could have gotten back what they wanted it was for them to do

Lumiere is still in a kinda bad shape overall in her ending. She just brought the people that her father killed back.

People have been asking about Alicia axon's meaning but I've been wondering about Verso. What does protecting truth with lies means?

What was the lumina converter anyway? His arm?

No, it's this lantern thing he has in his pocket. His arm is just his arm.

then Verso brings the arm back, and I thought that's the converter, but then they bury the arm

Presumably he also brought the converter back, since Maelle didn't have time to take it from Gustave's body in the finale of Act 1.

lumina.png - 1814x754, 1.26M

maelle disintegrates alicia without a second thought, what makes you think she can somehow stop being mentally ill while saving the people inside the canvas

Agreed 100%

Simple, make it a newgame+ exclusive ending

the runtimes add up to 33 minutes

Oh fuck

I'd be fine with a golden ending, but only if it involves some cock & ball torture gauntlet that makes the Promised Consort Simon, Myrmidon of Loss, look like a complete joke.

can be interpreted a few things, but from renoirs' perspective.

made to paint

but actually enjoys music much more

put on a mask to make ALINE happy by continuing to paint as a kid to hide his unhappiness.

i could be wrong

If Gustave was alive he could fix her

It's gonna be DLC so by default you still have to choose between the current two endings

Best ending would come from best girl

Pottery.

I think it's his entire (painted) existence. He was created to protect the truth of the tragedy of the fire by existing as a false idol.

Why is it okay to kill Painted Alicia (someone born to suffer the consequences of somebody else's actions) but not Verso? Both wished to die.

Painted Alicia didn't commit genocide.

Verso is the reason Painted Alicia wished to die so fuck him.

He gave up too quickly in my opinion. I'd only leave that canvas with my daughter or dead.

Nah, it'd be pretty lame. Triangle Strategy has 3 tragic endings and a secret bonus route where literally everything goes smoothly and you get a perfect happy ending and it just UNDERMINES EVERYTHING and makes the other endings less valid.

They desperately need to patch Painted Power, make it scale accordingly.

beat the Paintress, Get Painted Power I that caps damage to 99.999

beat Renoir, Painted Power II to 999.999

beat Simon, Painted Power III, fully uncapped damage

Intentional or not. The reacher's dimemma the way I understood it, pretty perfectly encapsulates Maelle's ending.
I don't think it was ever conceptualized for it to ever be realistic or perhaps even possible for the Reacher reach its sky it so yearns for but it still desperately reaches for it anyway, unyieldingly.
And that's Alicia. And in this current stage of her life, the canvas and Lumiere is her "sky".

This last part might just be me reading into it a bit too liberally. But if we take the story of the Reacher, then I think it'd suggest that Maelle's Lumiere is also doomed to slip through her fingers. Similarly to how the Reacher can never quite grasp the sky. But the Reacher doesn't stop trying, and neither does Maelle.
That's my read on it anyway.

can verso gommage people? no, he just held the hand of the sliver of a tired kid's soul that hated painting

You need to look at it from Maelle's perspective. Alicia provided no value for her and would simply serve as a reminder of what is real. Verso allows her fantasy to continue.

Famitsu reviews have always been trash. I don't understand why people care what the Japanese think about games.
There are a handful of geniuses over in Japan that are good at making games, but the vast majority of them have extremely shit takes on games.

B&W Alicia is the real victim in this story. Fuck Verso.

DLC with alternate reality where pAlicia saved Gustave and they form party only for Gustave to choose to save Maelle anyway when?

Aline is not back in Maelle's ending.

yet.

Renoir said it was too soon for her to return to any canvas. She might just try again after some rest, but once she is back in who knows if she'll ever leave. Maelle isn't leaving.

beat Simon, Painted Power III, fully uncapped damage

lmao, if they did that, 99% of the people would have never killed him. Most people don't even know about his gimmick or attacks at all, they probably never heard about P3.

painted power was a mistake.

you should only get it maybe from painted lovers or clea.

only for Gustave to choose to save Maelle anyway

What the fuck man that's just too cruel

lmao, if they did that, 99% of the people would have never killed him.

Good. He's a superboss, he is meant to be a filter.

He gaslit E33 into killing the wrong god so he could die, then gaslit the remaining piece of the soul of a dead man to finish the job and kill the universe, so he could die.

Including the jump scare?

I agree, I think it's rather shocking than MORE people beat Simon compared to collecting all feet.
And it's fucking fun too, the combat is a blast. My only complain is just P1 being very redundant, and the music resetting at each wipes, but still worth it.

If she cared enough she would have found out. It doesn't change the fact that she doesn't care about Painted Verso as his own person, she just wants to recreate Real Verso

I think we need to temper expectations. I don’t see Expedition getting any story dlc, especially one that fucks with the endings that they’re so proud of. And also especially because I doubt they’ll be able to get Charlie Cox back.

IMG_5738.jpg - 1024x757, 74.75K

I'm genuinely going to message Sandfall to suggest this

All comes down to Renoir being a shit father and husband. They don't wanna see his bitch ass anymore for a reason.

Game was running super smoothly

Then get painted power

Game starts lagging like hell

Even without him, they'd have gone straight to the paintress. AND why aren't you complaining about Monoco and Esquie? Both knew the truth too. They didn't say anything to anyone.

he didnt beat the game 33 times and get the third ending

They are kinda programmed to obey him though. Monoco didn't want to join him at first until he ordered him like a dog

We're memeing, we know we're getting a new dungeon and super boss at most.

The Simoso sword is bugged and lags your game after 4-5 fights. Don't use it for now.

Their motivation is selfless, they want to help their friend, even if he's in the wrong.

there are red frames in endless tower without a purpose.

potential DLC there.

Wow not at all, they're just his friend. Verso was created by Aline after all, he wasn't even for centuries (that's how long time passed between kid verso and aline playing sims, according to esquie himself)

Esquie and Monoco ARE SLAVESSSSSS

Do Maellefags really?

But why should I get any dlc when nothing is real and nothing prior to act 3 matters?

he did
we defeated him and he did a last try of convince her before accepting that she was dying there
he was as good as dead, i mean there is nothing else he can do other than literally forcing her to kill him and frankly she probably would and then forgive herself as she slips deeper into the canvas

I don’t see Expedition getting any story dlc, especially one that fucks with the endings that they’re so proud of.

I know it's unlikely, but that third ending song is too tantalizing to think about...

I honestly doubt there will be any DLC, the game is fully complete without any glaring holes or omissions, any new content will feel tacked on, like

spend $10 to unlock a new, never before seen or mentioned Axon area

Nah, dumb af

E-shilling I swear

(You)

What's going on with the influx of people begging for

true perfect happy ending

everyone live happily ever after

Did we even play the same game? Or are those just Maellefags who finally understood how dark her ending really was?

The two endings were great, there doesn't need to be a third true/canon one. It would be fucking dumb.

why is the only black and white (monochrome) person in the canvas

The reason Aline (the paintress) PAINTED A WHOLE FUCKING FAKE PARIS WITH A FAKE FAMILY AND THOUSANDS OF FAKE PEOPLE was because she could not accept the death of her son Verso, who her Daughter Alicia, caused, so of course she would paint the person she blames for this the way she did

what's with the gestapo outfit

Expedition 0 outfits, remember that expedition 0 started as a search and rescue effort after the fracture, and Painted Verso, Painted Renoir and Painted Alicia were leaders

what's with the mask

Alicia wears it because she is ashamed of her deformed face, verso says it himself

why does she have a time stop power, seems op af for just a painted rando

Same reason Renoir has OP powers too, the paintress made them that way, remember, they are almost 1 to 1 copies of the originals

A Life to Dream

That’s all it is, just a dream…

Renoir seems to be a perfectly reasonable gentleman, a good father anda good hushband though.

he doesn't want to fight Soman, Simon's brother

Everyone else is shown happy

No anon, they are not happy, for example look how Sciel's expression changes, her smile transforms into sorrow, ready to cry.
It's very subtle the first time you look at it.

youtu.be/QEk75rd7hi8?feature=shared&t=629

The two endings were great, there doesn't need to be a third true/canon one. It would be fucking dumb.

I disagree, simply for the reason of contrived as fuck in-universe events that lead to the last minute choice of endings.

See A lot of people feel the same way

Maellefags and people who want to see more of Gustave because he was a really cool guy

Not everybody likes suffering porn like you

then choose VERSO?

Answer me. That’s what the Verso ending, aka the True ending tells us, after all.

relentlessly kill lumière people without remorse probably because he thinks they're not real and it doesn't matter

except he's a painted people too

he's a piece of shit

He wasn't tho

Chinese and US hate misery in their game

Same reason Renoir has OP powers too, the paintress made them that way, remember, they are almost 1 to 1 copies of the originals

Nonsense, pAlicia's personality is completely different from Alicia's, and pRenoir's ideals are the direct opposite of the real one
youtube.com/watch?v=GhwmZ_U8Ff0

why is our performing monkey not playing?

Verso, the death stare, suicide, civilization erasing ending, ending with a panel of the game's cast fucking vanishing, is the goody bright positive ending without misery porn

Anon, both endings are miserable

So C33 is just a Tactics Advance ripoff yet people laud and praise it while Advance is reviled? Fuck Tacticsfags and their shallow political drama for overshadowing real kino.

IMG_3540.jpg - 748x498, 165.82K

That would likely been fun and I would have welcomed it. But Painted Power is honestly fine as is.
Lumiere and Renoir should have just been strengthened to at least Flying Manor levels.

That way people who rushed the game and then dipped their toes into Lumiere would have likely felt motivated to actually explore the Act3 overworld to get stronger, unless they were real hardasses, in which case they'd likely enjoy this more difficult version of Lumiere anyway.
And since it would just be Flying Manor levels, even casuals should have a relatively easy time to conquer Lumiere after having done say, somewhere between 50% to 25% of Act3's content, without having to cry tears and feel locked out of the ending which might have happened if Lumiere and Renoir was made into Simon or Endless Tower levels.

Jumping straight from the conclusion of Act2 to Clea, Painted Love, or Simon, is difficult. At least with the latter two. Even some of the chromatics like the Chromatic Aberration would likely pose difficult to most right at the start of Act3.
My point is just that there is challenge to be had in Act3. And a decent amount of it. It's just undercut by how Lumiere is honestly not scaled that differently to Act2 itself. And any additional strength you acquire in Act3, isn't to make Lumiere more plausible, it just makes you bulldoze even harder. Needlessly so. But exploring Act3 and one shotting some chromatics is fine. It's like a test to see how well you've understand and mastered the game. How strong your crafted teams actually are. Competence in this field will vary from player to player. At least I assume there is some healthy variance in how many chromatics players can one-shot right from the get go of Act3, and finding out where you stand on that scale by fighting them is just fun.

If anything, being Lumiere not really being scaled for Act3, I'd just give Simon some damage protection for his phase3 shift so that the phase couldn't be skipped.

why do anything in life anyways? you are going to die in the end.

Abloohooo ;__; I'm forced to live and fuck Lune and play piano abloohooooo

Fucking faggot.
Suck it up.

I don't particularly enjoy it, but it's just been extremely well done? Can't people enjoy things for what they are? Why do you need to put your nose through every little things? I trust Sandfall would have directly done your so called happy ending if they wanted.

The theme is about grief, loss and how people deal (they don't) with it. So when someone close to you will die, what will you do? I'm not even trying to be mean or anything, it's just it.
That's why it will never makes sense and it will always feel forced to have a perfect happy ending. If there was, it would only be because the characters wouldn't be mentally ill from Verso's death.

Does time pass normally in the painting outside of the painting? Never understood that since they've been in there for 67 years or some shit.

they'd have gone straight to the paintress

Wasn't the only other Expedition to reach the Paintress the 60? And they figured put the real enemy was below, not above. Verso let Gustave die for a reason. He would have figured it wasn't the Paintress killing people, but the Curator.

Nah, Clea says he's a control freak and needs to bend everyone to his will

clea_tower.png - 1107x1866, 2.37M

Versosisters our response?

Both endings are miserable

I don't see how a family finally getting the strenght to move on from a tragic loss, together, as misery.

That can't be true, or else Aline wouldn't have painted the painted Renoir to have hot steamy sex with.

doesn't actually give a shit about how Verso feels

boo hoo, faggot. Next time try not to genocide everyone

What's going on with the influx of people begging for true perfect happy ending

It is too close to ignore

6.png - 416x398, 23.95K

Yeah that must be why his wife and daughter don't wanna see his bitch ass anymore lol.

Where?

Are you retarded? Those are Japanese games. Kill yourself.

they didn't figure anything out before killing the paintress themselves. HELL, the game MAKES YOU kill her as she tries to heal/protect your party in P3 lmao.
Could Gustave change things? Maybe, but he was loooong dead. He died without Verso's intervention (yeah Verso could have saved him, but he's not fucking stupid, why would he?)

Complete the entirety of Endless Tower (33 fights)

Clea is an insufferable bitch tho, I'll never forgive her for making fun of Alicia's disability

They are worried about why Verso isn't fucking playing, are you really this fucking stupid? Nevermind, of course you are, that's why you have to pretend Gustave is waving on Verso's ending LOL.

But it was so funny getting painted power and thinking I could be happy about 20k hits and suddenly I shat out millions of damage

I did, but she never says he's a control freak.

It's not that I didn't enjoy the ending, I particularly think this is the best "escapism is not healthy bro" execution so far, but I don't like how it came at the expense of the whole setting and all characters. There's probably nowhere else to go after revealing it's a painting but I'd at least prefer if the people of the canvas choose this themselves instead of being non characters at the mercy of higher beings.

they didn't figure anything out before killing the paintress themselves

The 60 didn't kill the Paintress, are you fucking retarded?

Allô anon ?
Gommez-les.

verso_phone.png - 1070x870, 513.58K

99% of the people would have never killed him

thats fine as long as they have the journal lootable before the fight

Gustave is not waving, he is telling Alicia to move forward.

When One Falls, We Continue

he have surivior's guilt

He literaly caused many of the expeditions to fail

not liking clea

anon pls, she's one of the most heroic characters in the game

he's beckoning retard

i agree mostly, unsure about the simon suggestion

Why did Maele repaint him in the same way? Why didnt she made him a total willing NPC to play piano?

if the people of the canvas choose this themselves

Verso was a person of the canvas and he chose this tho. Monoco and Esquie were accepting of his choice. Lune is the only one pissed off.

You could make a DLC-sequel about Lumiere turning on Alicia after a hundred years

He is telling her don't stand there too long, move, go ahead, continue, live, get over your brother's death.

Not talking about 60, but your team does kill her. Your team keeps attacking even though something is clearly weird.
They even plant their flag right where she died.
They didn't figure shit even though the clues were all there, even Lune knew there was more going on but they just went on to kill the paintress. Meanwhile, Monoco and Esquie knew the truth btw, and said nothing at any point.

my fellow leafs you ARE playing this in the government mandated dual-language method right? (english voices french text or vice versa)

Doesn't sound like a control freak.

He's afraid of losing people so he bends them to his will

That's not a control freak. He's in the right to want to control his wife and daughter and prevent them from ODing on paint oil.

The truth

Verso doesn't give a shit about painting and his passion is music

The Lie

Verso enjoys painting and will pursue it just like his family

The truth is then protected by the lie.

I honestly doubt there will be any DLC

Be it free updates or paid DLC, I wouldn't be shocked if they do something with the red canvases and red gate at the endless tower.
I genuinely wouldn't mind even if they were just additional boss/enemy rushes. I'd honestly love that. And if it was anything more, then that'd just be even more exciting.

But I am talking 60. The 60 found out the truth, very likely either something they found or, like Simon, The Paintress told them who the real enemy was. The Paintress only lost her shit in front of E33 after Verso told her she had to go home.

original.png - 728x410, 144.46K

LOL

Verso is a copy of someone. His pov is biased.

ESLs are the target audience

word of mouth

you mean excessive shilling on Anon Babble, you, and reddit?

Keep cooking

huh.png - 574x584, 562.89K

bend everyone to his will

HURR NOT CONTROL FREAK THO XD

Love how retarded Versocucks can be.

That's not a control freak. He's in the right to want to control his wife and daughter

LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Simon in phase 3 has 50 million HP. A 1 million damage cap would be entirely reasonable, even with multihits and good builds he would at minimum get 2-3 rounds against you, and you'd actually have to dodge him.
Not to mention making the Gommage unskippable.

Did you not play the game?

He's afraid of losing people so he bends them to his will

That's not a control freak.

Yes it is you fucking retard. That is like textbook abusive spouse shit.

Do you understand context?

That only applies to real people

is the sword you get from simon still bugged? i remember using it and my game slowly went into a crawl and my cpu was pegged at 100%

Clea is such an unbelievably based woman.

I understand, but my point was

Even without him, they'd have gone straight to the paintress. AND why aren't you complaining about Monoco and Esquie? Both knew the truth too. They didn't say anything to anyone.

While 60 figured out the truth, it wasn't the case for 33.

The Paintress told them who the real enemy was

I don't think she literally told them, I think they picked up clues and understood as they reached her. But yeah it's possible she did.

A control freak is one that has to have power over every little thing or they lose their shit, for no discernable or reasonable reason.

People who are abusing drugs NEED to be controlled by others. They lost the capacity to look after themselves, so someone who cares for them has to. They will lie, manipulate and steal in order to continue down their path of self-destruction.

Those are some really unattractive feet, she should consider getting some footwear.

That is like textbook abusive spouse shit

In a vacuum sure, but it's really not abusive in this context. Parents should destroy their children's drug stash if they find it, and it's not abusive behavior to do so. Yeah they're "controlling" their kids' lives, but I mean come on.

I genuinely need a seasoned footfag connoisseur, someone who can quantitatively explain the attraction of the texture of the soles and the curve of the heel, to evaluate Lune and Clea's feet.

while Advance is reviled

It isn't lol

Yeah your dad should come in and smash your PC because you're spending too much time on social media lmao

Ok but based Clea, someone who is literally 4x more reasonable than any other member of her french family says he's overly controlling so uhh

I want a compromise. I want them to let painted verso/child verso go and still retain the canvas for all the painted lumiere people to come back
It's still not the happiest, but you at least give them a chance to get a decent life going. Alicia can still mourn but come and go from time to time or something

IF ITS KILLING ME,

YEAH WHY NOT.

He knew what would happen. Painted Renoir repeated it back to him every time they met. He didn't find out the nature of the paintress from Alicia's letter, he already knew everything and even that Maelle was the real Alicia. That letter was just a suggestion to let Maelle know the truth.

Her feet arch beautifully.
Then again, I wouldn't classify myself as a footfag so maybe I just don't understand.

Unironically yes, or at least restrict your acess. Have you not noticed how retarded kids are from constant exposure to social media and cell phones?

t. Fatherless loser

What about child Verso though? Adult Verso would want to see him freed too, would Alicia put a sliver of her soul to replace him?

If you're literally shitting yourself? Absolutely. You're clearly are no longer in control of your own life and need some help.

Can someone explain the Goblu shit with flower? What was the point of that.
Also, aong with that, did anyone think the twist was going to be that gestrals and or Nevrons were reincarnated gommaged people? We get a journal where the name Dominique is brought up and like literally right after we find a Gestral named Dominique. And the stuff with the rose and Goblu on top of that made me think maybe there was some connection with Sophie.
Anyways the Goblu thing is weird it's like never brought up or explained, right?

Is this the greatest game of all time?

Yeah your dad should come in and smash your PC

Depending on how bad the situation? It might be warranted. Video related
youtube.com/watch?v=ri1MrA7cbNo

It's not unthinkable, he was ready to throw the expedition away to find Maelle.

Nah, you can't do that, one kid literally killed himself because the parents confiscated his smartphone and for him it was his whole world.

That's why Renoir and Verso are both wrong, you can't use a sledgehammer to solve problems.

They are, gommage'd chroma gets reused by painted Clea and Aline

SO VERSOTARDS AND MAELLEFAGS, HEAR ME OUT

Verso painted the canvas along with Clea

would it be possible for Clea to replace verso by giving a part of her soul to continue the painting?

If you're literally shitting yourself?

Reminds me of the South Park WoW episode.
Parents shouldn't be like Cartman's mom. She is an enabler.

did I beat him? 1v1 only with Verso to Monoco p3, dodging not allowed. took around 4 hours

file.png - 2559x1439, 2.61M

i was talking about the reward being full uncapped damage

You know that's said in the context of Clea believing that Renoir should leave her mom to die, right? She is fine with Aline killing herself in the painting to deal with her grief. Clea isn't exactly reasonable.

Regardless, someone who is a control freak can still do the right thing by exerting control over someone in need.
A control-freak dad destroying his daughter's stash of heroin is still doing the right thing, even if it is the dad's control-freakishness that caused the daughter to retreat to drugs in the first place. Which isn't the case here by the way, since Alicia bears no ill-will towards her father until he says he wants to destroy the painting, even describing him as "warm".

No Monoco knew there was a chance Verso would destroy the world. That's why he wants to bring Noco back asap, because he knows there might not be a tomorrow
You could maybe argue that Verso hadn't made up his mind fully at that point, but him destroying the canvas was always on the table, at least as far as Monoco is concerned.

It should be just for the memes, if you beat Simon without cheese, you've earned uncapped damage.

What are her long-term relationship goals? Is she going to try to fix him?

86423665423.png - 343x384, 274.82K

this is the only good Wes Anderson movie

i feel it was supposed to be a bigger plot point but they just explain it off as the chroma of gommaged people becoming nevrons in an exposition line

Alicia owes it to Verso to leave the painting
Why would you have the story end with making the ultimate sacrifice of a character pointless when you aren't forced to

Nah, you have to parry at least 932 times or you didn't beat him, sorry anon.
youtube.com/watch?v=UdzioMFMMCo

Nothing says she can't do so. If it's a world where gustave gets to come back and live a nice life, I'm sure she can leave a piece of her soul there to replace child verso
That would've been the best case scenario, but the whole dessandre family are a bunch of fuck ups and renoir sees it clearly; that specific canvas is tearing them apart

he VILL play the piano and he VILL enjoy it

Clea will only give the canvas part of her soul if she can use it as a tool to trap writers in it to be tortured, killed, and repainted for eternity.

GOTY re-rerelease/DLC

Maelle "dies" at Lampmaster

Alicia takes her place

Gustave and gang solve everything

Clea is the endgame antagonist

Make it happen.

i love monoco's giant fucking bell.

humiliating old Verso and grooming Young Verso

one kid

Yeah, and how many kids had their future and mental capacities saved by restricting their acess to social media?
I was completly unrestricted by anything growing up and look how it turned out. I'm on a mongolian basketweaving image board argueing about vydia in my 30s.

Can someone explain the Goblu shit with flower? What was the point of that.

You mean mechanically or just in general?
Mechanically the flowers he summons heals and shields him if you don't freeshot the flowers. But outside of that?

I don't think we know. But my guess is that Goblu was never a "normal" Nevron. Goblu might technically not even be a Nevron.
On the family wall in the real world next to the fireplace with Noco and Monoco, there is a Goblu portrait next to Alicia's tiny, tiny little painting and the painting of Esquie etc.
That might just be the devs decorating with concept art, which appears to be the case for at least most of the manor. But I wouldn't be shocked if the original Goblu predates the Nevrons. Like the Gestrals, Esquie, and Fancois and such.
Goblu might have been a gardener of sorts to keep the world beautiful.

That's my largely baseless conjecture at least.

Sciel is the most empathetic person in the group, and she fully understands Verso. She looks sad because she can see he's struggling, but much like Alicia she hopes he'll get over it and learn to be happy.

Dropped plotline. It's obvious they changed the plot after the first act. They came back to fix some stuff but others stayed as they were; Goblu was one of them.

not a single expedition managed to relay the message

some got to gestral village.

BRING A BOAT LOAD OF BELLS NEXT EXPEDITION AGAINST NEVRON.

Yes. That's why a golden ending requires Clea, but also Aline and Alicia agreeing to not kill themselves in it.

That's my largely baseless conjecture at least.

It's not really conjecture. The Nevrons in the flying manor (Eveque, Goblu, Dualiste, and Lampmaster) are the Nevrons that are most important to Clea, and is why she uses them to seal away Painted Clea. So it isn't really in the same tier as others, but we don't know what exactly she sees in it

gustave going full vengeance on the war on the paintress while maelle, verso, and renoir team up as the antagonist sounds great. not sure how monoco would justify being on the expedition team tho against verso.

RENOIR IS A CONTROL FREAK!

Geeez why a man absolutely lost in love with his wife, that consider his youngest daughter "his shiniest star" HAS A PROBLEM WITH WATCHING BOTH THE LOVE OF HIS LIFE AND HIS PRECIOUS DAUGHTER TURNING INTO JUNKIES AND SLOWLY WITHERING AWAY AND DIE IN FRONT OF HIS EYES?!

What a such terrible husband and father, and yes, he himself made it very clear he doesn't want to erase the last piece of soul of his dead son but the rest of the family got to the point there is no other way

No he’s just a Maellefag

Monoco isn't actually tired of living, hence why he cares about bringing Noco back despite knowing what Verso's goal eventually leads to.

He could easily be convinced to join them.

Nigga the canvas will be destroyed in less then 100 years because maelle will degrade even faster than Aline. The only thing she accomplished is making Lumiere and Verso her puppets

They will lie, manipulate and steal in order to continue down their path of self-destruction.

So Painted Verso. Glad to see you agree his ending is the bad one.

Gustave could actually talk some sense into Alicia and kicked her off Canvas and promise to do the same with Aline. He was too based for this world and had to be removed out of the picture. Dessendre are too mentally retarded to talk things out and Gustave would be a perfect mediator between those ((wo)man)children.

I'm sorry about your theory anon, there's another Goblu at Flying Manor, so he's Clea's creation.

Painted Clea pulls a Chrono Cross Kid and paints a nevron Clea

she looks like Clea's curator form but more humanoid

she joins the team but adopts the blue mage role.

Aline and Alicia agreeing to not kill themselves in it.

Probably more like Gustave signing up Lumiere to kick them back out of the painting for their own good if they ever get the idea they should come back. Maybe we'd get a trad JRPG "once every thousand years a great evil arises" and it's actually just a wine drunk Aline drunk crying over her dead son and stumbling back into the painting.

A Painted Alicia route will redeem the game so fucking hard.

alicia.png - 1452x4467, 3.63M

so he's Clea's creation

Well. Obviously.
But the original Goblu might have still predated Verso's death. And you know, still have been painted by Clea.
It might have been Verso's canvas but he wasn't the only one to paint in it.

whats her tax policy?

Two best characters in the game.

her writer's side coming out here.

Gustave romance please

What a such terrible husband and father

Indeedz that's why they don't wanna see his bitch ass anymore.

The sad reality is that everyone lives under the shadow of painted verso's death wish. Painted alicia loves him; she can't live a good life that condemns him either. It's the reason he and painted renoir fought in the first place

bend everyone to his will

HURR NOT CONTROL FREAK THO XD

Like Alicia making Verso play?

I like Monoco

people will read this and say "they're just Sims NPCs actually"

Maelle's ending is a nightmare, but fuck you if you say this.

now lets snuggle

doshio~

It'd be bad if you didn't. Him and Esquie are close to objectively the best two characters.

Chat GPT can write that too.

They're just SIMS npc though?

Ladies, please, one at a time.

suit monoco.png - 1087x1063, 612.71K

Reminder that Alicia is NOT Maelle.
She really really wants to be Maelle but she is not. She is a skin walker.
Maelle actually knows how to move on from trauma. She knows there's life for her outside of Lumiere. Maelle does what needs to be done no matter her grief.
Maelle is literally the cooler Alicia and Alicia is nowhere close.
That's not to say that Maelle would put Verso down when he admitted he essentially killed Gustave.
Maelle would save Lumiere and move on to the bigger world to do bigger things.
Alicia doesn't deserve to bear Maelle's name.
Maelle died at the end of Act 2.
""""Maelle's ending""""" is actually Alicia's ending.

Some anon theorized that it might be Clea's mocking caricature of Alicia, that she had put in the canvas years before.

What do you mean bro it's just like deleting my animal crossing save

Escapism is not bad you idiot, letting the escapism literally drain the soul of a family is

yeah, out of the 3 alicias, real alicia is the worst, so much so that she drags down maelle after the act 3 merge.

Clea also created Sprong and Francois. They are still distinct creatures from nevrons.

game prompts actual discussion about story elements on Anon Babble

yep, looks like we have a classic on our hands

I NEEED A FACT CHECK

CLEA Created SPRONG?

Some of the Nevrons were definitely made by Clea before the fracture. I'm pretty sure Sprong is another one she made when she was much younger
Goblu being another early creation makes sense too

Maelle was unironically killed by Verso at the end of act 2.
But "Malicia" is cooler than both Maelle and (real) Alicia, so I'm fine with it really.

The jumpscare filters the brainlets.

She's my favorite character in the game and she gets done so fucking poorly.
Why are Painted Verso's desires put on the spotlight but she needs to suffer alone?

When you kill it, Verso says it's the first thing Clea painted in his canvas.

Anon Babble & reddit

LMAO, you think you're important?

They are still distinct creatures from nevrons.

Nevrons aren't a real thing or species. It's just some made up name the people of Lumiere gave for Clea's monsters. But she had nothing to do with the name. So realistically anything created by Clea is a "Nevron"

Even François!

i though he said one of "her" first

was the "her" Clea and not Aline?

technically, he just says its the first thing "she" drew. its safe to assume its clea but they never say outright.

He doesn't mention Clea, he says "that was one of her first creations" so I figured he meant the paintress (Aline)

she got booted out (end of act 2)
and is likely getting chewed out by or chewing out renoir or something

the whole game is framed around presenting the tragedy of Renoir, Alicia and their family

but the struggle of Painted Renoir and Alicia are just roadblocks on the way to "victory"

they are completely self aware of this fundamental inequality

damn

Malicia dances on many graves.

This image is a complete summarization of the entire plot of Expedition 33

IMG_4333.png - 680x976, 255.77K

yeah, its probably all shit from her scrapbook that she uploaded into the painted clea copy machine. simple designs that can be mass produced just so she uses up the canvas' toner(chroma).

we're happy here in lumiere

Alicia is a delusional pathetick wreck, she's got nothing on Maelle. Maelle has will power to stand up and fight and achieve her goals even after Gustave's death. Alicia would be rotting somewhere near Stonewave Cliffs.

Mewt just needed to be an underaged waifu to win against Marche

LMAO.

Go on, tell me what are his motives except keeping himself and his family alive

killing innocents, Renoir

killing innocents, pRenoir

1f8.png - 1482x1960, 2.51M

But "Malicia" is cooler than both Maelle and (real) Alicia, so I'm fine with it really.

Facto brother.
Malicia is so hot you can forgive anything she did.

Nevrons are technically a specific thing though. They were created to stop the flow of chroma, once something died, back to the Paintress. Which is why all the old expeditioners bodies still existed.
The name is made up by the people of Lumiere and applied to things that don't stop the chroma flow but 99% of the enemies in the game are a specific thing.

what's 2+2 but don't say 4!

Classic Maellenig.

Verso's a true maellefag. thats why he does it. the retarded maellefags that picked maelle ending are just unhealthy feeder enablers.

I don't really get why so many appear to be willing to write off painted Verso as so almost cartoonishly black and white selfish.
Yeah he lies a bunch. But I don't get why you'd assume that any semblance or hint at empathy from him, would be a lie. But a shocking number of people appear to read him like that. Why?

He Who Guards Truth with Lies yadda, yadda, sure.
But isn't it very presumptuous to assume that Verso's truth is all shite? When he breaks down he pleads and wishes for death, true. But why assume that's the extent of his truth?

Verso might posture a whole lot. The strength he presents might in itself be a lie. But I wouldn't call that selfish or morally questionable or anything.
He could have broken down and begged the Curator, Aline, or Maelle to unpaint him sooner. But he never does until the ending where Maelle defeats him and he lies on the ground, fasttracked to becoming Maelle's piano-slave.
At the start of Act3, Renoir is already in the process of erasing him. Which he appears to somewhat restfully accept. But when Maelle protects him from being erased and pleads with him to flee with her, he does. That was surely for her sake, or for his family's sake broadly. Or maybe even for all the painted people of the canvas.
He could have very easily resisted Maelle and accepted the oblivion Renoir offered him. But seeing how his sister etc weren't done fighting, he decided that he wasn't done either.

Was that struggle a "lie" too? Unlikely. If his goal was to erase himself he could have had that happen then and there. So clearly Verso's "truth" is not that simple or that plainly black and white. He clearly isn't such an entirely selfish person so many Verso-haters have him pinned down as.
A lot of Verso's "masks" appear to be out of compassion for others. And that compassion doesn't appear to be a lie. I'll repeat. If Verso had been mask off he could have accepted oblivion. Yes Verso lies a ton, but his masks clearly aren't all for his sake.

Palicia is still superior.

Board full of people clinging to the past and gender confused people would rather live a lie

Can't say I'm surprised.

what the fuck are you talking about schizo.

I'll be preaching the gospel of the unsung and rejected hero pAlicia till Elon buys Anon Babble and fills it with Indians.

I like this theory that Goblu is just a gardener and he was painted during the Sprong era.

He is literally me and my mom says I'm cool

He said Clea.

People actually care about the plights of the homosexual family

Would like some solid NG+ content

You're black.

people like thing

that must mean they hate thing

dilate

Why?

Media literacy, simple as.

Anon Babble is a prime case of extreme retardation

Do they ever elaborate on what happened to Gustave's arm?

Verso committed genocide so he deserves it.

Fading Woman exists while Real Clea isn't in the canvas

Does this mean there's also a piece of Clea's soul in the canvas?

I don't entirely disagree with you, but the distinction isn't really focused upon that much in the game
Like going back to the Endless tower, Clea says she's filling the gauntlet with Nevrons, but then one of the fights has François in it, so is he a Nevron then?
The game just doesn't focus on the specifics that much

Mostly it's done for memes but there are a few schizos utterly obsessed with trying to force you to believe either ending is the "good" one. For versofags it usually involves dishonestly saying the painted people aren't real, and for aliciafags it usually involves dishonestly saying verso is a cartoon villain.

I doubt they’ll be able to get Charlie Cox back.

Supposing they didn't already record lines if there's a story DLC. It's not out of the question considering they went far enough to sign the property up for a movie.

You're a special breed of retard, aren't you

i dont think he did Anon

sprong.png - 577x299, 277.73K

technically, renoir commits the genocide.

Nah, because there's fading man as Renoir, too. It's not totally clear but it seems like people who take significant enough actions in the canvas leave snapshots of how they felt in that moment.

Even best boy knows he was the main character

1903340_1858.jpg - 2560x1440, 590.47K

verso is a cartoon villain.

He is, he made the evil choice every time when it came down to it.

If they make a DLC it would be specifically to change he ending you retard. They promised us 3 endings and we only got 2.

Do they ever elaborate on what happened to Gustave's arm?

Why do they need to? He probably lost it in an accident or something, it doesn't matter.
Reminds me of that one joke from a Redlettermedia review, that nobody in any movie is just bald. He has to have lost his hair from some chemical, or he became evil, or he got sent to prison, nobody can just be bald.

Why does he say this when Sciel and Lune did most of the talking to him?

Clea made all the nevrons (except the ones on the axon ailes and renoir's drafts, those super fucked up ones were his). The only ones Aline MIGHT have painted were the weird colored copies in the tainted monolith environs. Clea definitely painted Sprong, its simple appearance shows how young she was.

yeah, saving alicia from the fire definitely was a mistake.

They promised us 3 endings

Où?

you mean excessive shilling on Anon Babble, you, and reddit?

You think 2 million unique users use Anon Babble?

He lost it fighting Nevrons. What else do you need?

This Verso did no such thing.

you're the anon who says in every thread that he gaslights the verso soul, right? kek

white nevrons might have been painted clea fighting back against the programming.

switch to french UI now

idk I just assumed they'd even make a passing reference to it given he's the only one with a prosthetic arm, plus it being important for his whole gameplay gimmick.
He fucked up painted Renoir with it though when he overcharged it with the thunder which I thought was pretty cool.

He made the right choice at the very end of the game for completely the wrong fucking reason since my headcanon is still thay he was faking any concern he had for Maelle.

saves alicia from the canvas

he really is the true hero...

Certainly, but Blanche, the Noire made to hunt the other faulty ones down, was either certainly painted by Clea or by Painted Clea with instructions from the real one. While it's possible Clea made the white nevron hunter also white as an artistic choice my headcanon is that the white nevrons lost their color as their purpose never materialized.

TRVKE STENDHALS

They did??

There's a big difference here:

Maelle =/= Alicia. I repeat, If it was purely Maelle vs Verso, I'd pick Maelle without any hesitation. But the reality is that she's bound by the Real world and needs to live life.

painted people aren't real

They aren't.
The drawing of a child is not pedophilia. Same case here, the drawing of a lumerian is not a resemblance of a real human being.

Same case here, the drawing of a lumerian is not a resemblance of a real human being.

QED

Both endings suck, but imo the painted people stopped mattering when they beat the paintress and they all gommaged. Lune and Sciel feel like cope copies made by Maelle and only brought back because they didn't want to limit the party to Maelle, Verso and Monoco, so it felt it boiled down to just "Should Alicia keep huffing copium or be cut off?"

She didn't want to be "saved" and he sacrificed his own family and sister who wanted to work towards compromise and essentially killed the one person in Maelle's life that could help help find a solution for everyone.

Did you guys forget what Alicia said in Alicia's letter?

since my headcanon is still thay he was faking any concern he had for Maelle.

But if that was true he would have just let Renoir delete him much, much sooner.

I actually really like Verso as a character and think he's very complex. I don't think he's lying 100% of the time. In fact I think he's being truthful a lot of the time when he's talking about his personal details, like how he misses Julie, or when he tells Sciel he tried to kill himself

It's specifically once Act 3 starts, and he's already betrayed the whole party, and he even betrayed his own sister by throwing her letter into the ocean, that I think you can write off almost everything he says after the fact

Ultimately my opinion on him more or less stems from the final conversation with Monoco. Regardless of what he says to the rest of the party, he was never 100% on board with them and there was always a chance he would betray them again. I agree with you that he was probably very conflicted during Act 3, and that's what makes him a very interesting character, but I think if even his best friend isn't willing to trust him fully then that goes a long way to show how truthful he really is being. And in that vein I dont think he ever really cared that much about promises he made like helping Sciel bring back her husband (but then again she basically cucked Verso in the end so he's probably justified there)

I thought you meant the devs promised 3 endings in an interview or whatever.
We know that a third ending is heavily hinted in the game

I found it odd too when I first played it. Gustave never really interacted with him, mostly saw Esquie as a means to an end than a real person.
It was Lune and Sciel that were amused by his very existence.

This. If it was painted Maelle getting Alicia's powers and becoming more than a painting, AND IS FIGHTING FOR LUMIERE'S SAKE not HER OWN.

A live to love
A live to paint
A live to ???

Did he not?

pRenoir had 0 desire for compromise. he had his head rewired so he will defend all of Aline's woman moments, truly a fate worse than death. If Aline painted Renoir perfectly, he definitely would have turned around and try to get her out of the canvas too.

VERSO, DID YOU TAKE THE CHICKEN OUT OF THE FREEZER?

Would Maelle have let that happen though? Even when Renoir is erasing him she jumps in right away without him even saying anything

Esquie likely saw Gustave interact with everyone else too. I don't think his opinions on people are limited to their interactions directly with him personally.

Une vie à rêver

MAMAN GO TO THE BATHROOM

Im finally putting the game down. I wonder whens the next time I'll experience something like this again, maybe Silksong

file.png - 609x131, 91.58K

Not yet

Based.

Yeah, it doesn't feel Alicia really cares about Lumiere or the painted people beyond living out her fantasy dream world and using them as set dressing and dolls

oohhh I didn't read the thread
new ending DLC confirmed then

so she can just stop time whenever she wants?

file.png - 1864x1034, 1.19M

DLC? Sorry, mate. Just got off the phone with Kevin Feige and I’m due for a 30 second cameo in Secret Wars

You WILL get the adventures of Simon and Verso DLC and you WILL like it.

Dad, mom is trying to kill herself!

Well, it's her right to do so son, leave her be.

Nigga what?

A Live to Dream.

sounds way too happy for CoE33

seems to be a power exclusive to pAlicia. Does pRenoir ever do it?

Maelle says she can't paint over someone else's creation and only Clea could do that. So you're either wrong or it's a plot hole.

He does let Renoir delete him, Maelle just stops it from happening.

no? it only works with Maelle because its literally herself

Would Maelle have let that happen though?

Maybe not. But at the start of Act3 I very, very much doubt Maelle had the strength to resist her father.
And well. Before the Paintress was ousted from the painting, the Curator might not have had the strength to delete him. But then again, it's thanks to the Curator that they're able to erase painted Renoir. It's very possible that the Curator could have erased Verso at any point if he had just begged for it.

Either way I really don't buy this idea that all that Verso was aiming for was self-erasure. That doesn't track.

They won

IMG_4428.jpg - 358x472, 31.75K

I don't know if I like or dislike both Gustave's death and replacement with Verso (mainly cause I just liked Gustave), and the entire plot twist.
One the one hand I like the stuff with Renoir, Aline and the family.
On the other it just makes everyone else in the painting feel so secondary.

Sorry I should have specified pAlicia. But at the Time real Renoir was destroying everything in the canvas which eventually would have destroyed his entire family so he was in a pretty defensive mode at the time there may still have been a possibility he could have been convinced.

She wouldn't want that if Renoir didn't suck as a husband.

and becoming more than a painting

This goes against the message of this story so it can't happen.
The message of this story is Fake things are fake. No matter how 'real' you feel and think they are they will never become real things. As a painted, Maelle is not a real person, she is always just a part of Alicia.

It makes too much sense, there's no way...

First few days after game comes out

Ending discussions are actually pretty good as far as discussions on Anon Babble goes

Time passes

Game blows up with normalfags, every faggot streamer under the sun is/was playing it

Every thread is dogshit now and full of fucking rediculously schizo/emotional/retarded faggots expressing their 'views'

i guess i can't complain those first few days were the best I saw on here and years

i think we can all agree, Aline was the one that swung first right?

She's so adorable bros...

What are you on about, the entire reason she's in the painting is coping with the death of Verso, who if anyone's to blame on that is Alicia.
How is that Renoir's fault?

The existence of other games set in this universe will give people clarity. That Alicia is a selfish bitch who would let her family end if it meant her own happiness.

Maelle just stops it from happening

And what if Verso had stayed with Renoir? He could have. Then he could have still gotten deleted. It's not like Maelle made him undeletable.

I don't even think the game is against the idea of escapism, to a degree. The entire conflict begins because Aline, and later Alicia are so determined to lose themselves in their escapism they'd rather risk dying then deal with reality.

game barely sells

gets shilled to the fucking moon anyway

God damn it I fucking hate turn troons.

reaction pic

of a permajobber.

Yeah I find it hard to care about the idea of

Dude Alicia will bring back Lumiere and everyone who died!

She only brought back Sciel and Lune because it was so quick and she knew them well. By the end of the game it's probably too late to bring everyone else back the same way, and Maelle seems standoffish and independent enough she didn't hang around many people that I doubt she knew even a 10% of Lumiere's population that well.

Would you leave your wife for """""make believe""""" world to cry for a son/daughter? I wouldn't, because I love my wife and she loves me. I'll fuck her brains out and make a new offspring after we are done crying TOGETHER. Aline escaped because Renoir sucks.

tranime posting and complaining about trannies

huh?

gokubro falseflag btw

Would you leave your wife for """""make believe""""" world to cry for a son/daughter? I wouldn't, because I love my wife and she loves me. I'll fuck her brains out and make a new offspring after we are done crying TOGETHER.

That's male mentality. A woman doesn't think like that.

Your wife would still escape IRL, now how would you bring her back?

turn troons

AKA brown people

Aline seem irredeemable for all the burden she put on Alicia for Verso's death and of all people should have known better about hiding away in a canvas but Renoirs heavy handed approach probably just made the whole thing worse.

Would you leave your wife for """""make believe""""" world to cry for a son/daughter?

What are you even trying to say? Aline is the one who left to cope with the painting.
This is ignoring the fact you're the retard who posted this shit acting like wanting to stop your wife OD'ing is wrong somehow.

Your wife would still escape IRL

She wouldn't because she needs me. Renoir being a bitch ass beta weaker painter than his wife made her lose respect for his bitch ass.

Simon THE GOAT

Best girl is gonna make it happen.

hq720 (12).png - 686x386, 376.22K

She looks like someone nutted on her face and she just left it on overnight

Some unapologetic Zanzibart can be great.

This was the exact and precise moment I dropped E33.
I was 10 levels off 99, but I just knew he was imposible to beat.

They missed the opportunity of having painted Clea say "Simon, forgive me..." when she died for a true Zanzibart moment.

Simon's problem is that he's too easy to beat by not fighting him.
Cap Painted Power to 1 million already

You can do it without cheese anon. I eblieve in you!

I didn't beat him tho.

the game's pre-release titles were Sand Fall (I think it was a time travel story originally, the EXE is still called that) and We Lost (hence the song on the soundtrack)

pretty cool

A lot of Verso's "masks" appear to be out of compassion for others.

Compassion for his (real) sister and for his mother, who he knows firsthand, not a painted version.

The reports of the game being like 20-40 hours had me thinking that even if I might enjoy the ride a lot, I was left thinking the game wouldn't pander to my autistic completionist shenanigans.
But the game genuinely has a lot of content if you're willing and appreciative of all it has to offer. And because of all the people claiming the game would be like 20-40 hours, I wasn't expecting that at all. So this very much pleased me.

157.png - 634x354, 340.65K

Whoever decided that Clea should be braless is a genius and a cultured scholar.

Thanks for getting my thread to bump limit guys. I haven't actually played the game I just hoped that posting a meme OP would finally get people to respond to one of my threads.

bae gun.jpg - 894x877, 92.18K

Took me 86 hours to do literally everything, as in find every single weapon and pictos, get everyone to 300 lumina etc

I plan do an Expert run though once they patch the game some more

Whoever decided

What do you mean anon, his name is right there.

ah fuck I can't believe I posted in a bratcuck thread
alright i'm out of here

i ended at about 70-75h. alot of content that doesnt feel repetitive at all. i do feel like they need another tier of difficulty or something cause you hit nuke status way too fucking easily but theres not really much that can even warrant that much damage output.

I plan do an Expert run

You didn't play the game on expert to begin with? You didn't finish the game then, you dumb fucking casual.

She's so messy and unkempt, she clearly doesn't give af about her appearance, probably a raging femcel

I was 10 levels off 99, but I just knew he was imposible to beat.

That was about when I beat him. And I hadn't grinded for lumina and I failed the nevron-quest too.

I got to the point where I got to phase3 pretty consistently. Then I pretty much won by mistake when I tried Gommage and it ended up dealing way, way, way more damage than I expected it to.
Then I reloaded my save to fight him again because the boss fight really is great fun. I wish he couldn't be damaged through his phase3 shift personally, but I still love this boss fight.

1747176993.webm - 1280x720, 3.86M

They can just cast Robert Pattinson for the love action

Fuck painted Verso, he'd rather kill his friends and himself than help Maelle grow to a point where she can leave the canvas willingly.

Baelz got cucked? Or are you just making generalizations of Baelz-fans?

It was kinda hard in act 1 and I don't like switching difficulties halfway through, feels like I'm cheating

What the fuck.

If that's your webm even even tho we were both the same level we definitely played completely different. How are you doing so much damage

It was kinda hard in act 1

No, it wasn't, just dodge. Act 1 enemies all have telegraphed attacks.
Never reply to any of us again, you casual.

Yeah I just turned my Maelle into a shield stacker tank and removed all burn stacking pictos and weapons from my builds, felt a bit more balanced. the damage scaling is still fucked. basically only pClea, Simon and Painted love gave me trouble in act 3

file.png - 1635x925, 2.53M

How are you doing so much damage

Well. The first time I used Gommage right after getting it after doing the Reacher quest, then it only did a few million. Not a dozen. Not several dozen. And absolutely not 67M damage. So I was very, very shocked to see that happen. It was not what I expected to happen at all.
In my previous attempts I had just done Angel's Eyes with Verso over and over with my Gradient.

So I don't really know. Gommage just appears to be pretty busted. Brulerum isn't even that impressive of a weapon stat-wise. Or even effect-wise. And you can see the lumina I've got running even if the picture quality of my webm might not be the best. The text is still mostly readable.

bae was cucked a long time ago, if only Roberu wasnt a WHORE she would've stood a chance.

He is no longer frozen in time. He is now aging and healing like a regular person.

Scars don't heal, that's the point.

Anon, people not dying is good.

Conceptually I think Painted Clea might be the coolest boss fight. Granted that Simon is way up there too.
But I think it's a bit of a shame that she is comparably easy to beat while still being presented as one of the game's super bosses.

I suppose her extremely high healing is meant to be apply a lot of stress and pressure onto the player. Make the fight feel difficult to overcome.
But she doesn't heal herself if you successfully parry her attacks. And while her attack combos are really cool visually and conceptually. The individual pieces of the attack strings are, intentionally so I presume, extremely reminiscent of the attacks the nevrons in question do themselves. So if you've already mastered fighting the regular nevrons of her attacks, then I reckon you shouldn't need to struggle much before you can parry her attack strings either. Her attacks being nevron-based kind of means you're already at least partially familiar with her attacks from the get-go, if not more than familiar with them.

And if Clea doesn't heal every turn then she goes down real easily because her her max health isn't all that.

renoir's torching that thing

He has no reason to at that point.

Sure but why did she do it

1. We don't know how much time has passed or how much Alicia increased its painter skills.

2. She recreated Lune and Sciel and the end of her ending, everyone else

31 Million HP is a lot to my party so that's mostly a (You) thing.

The message of this story is Fake things are fake

No it's not, and if it is, thats a tiny portion of it compared to moving on from grief and guilt. Go watch the scenes where real Renoir interacts with painted people again.

I liked this thread.
