Will I like this if I'm not against repeating puzzles or taking notes? I've heard some people hate this game with a passion.
This game is unplayable if you don't take notes. The actual determining factor on if you'll like this game or not is if you mind roguelite design. Because this is a fusion of roguelite and puzzle.

Is this parlor game impossible to get right with 100% precision?
Oh, I haven't played many roguelikes/roguelites but I did not enjoy the ones I tried
I did like Void Stranger though and this game seemed kinda similar
This box is empty True

who gon' tell him?
This game is slop, don't waste your time on it. The puzzles aren't interesting, it takes far too long to get to them and they're literally time gated, and the game itself is comically unfinished.
Steam has a built-in notepad and screenshot gallery in the overlay. makes it easy
I never failed parlor puzzle for like 25-27 days straight, then I switched to playing other games.
It's extremely easy and there's always 1 solution

zero SJW bullshit
The game's secret plot is literally about you removing the royalist evil red gubberment so the more progressive blue political party can replace them
I tested permuations of TTF TFT TFF FTT FFT FTF everytime and check if one of the six have no logical hole
this sold me
i love taking notes
thanks anon
agreed, it's my goty so far.
it's the perfect game for me who loves roguelites and puzzle games. I'm too brainlet to solve the castle cipher without hints though, and I needed nudging at times (eg a new clue) because organizing which clues/information are relevant for your current objective can get a bit too tedious.
Just prove it by testing if something is real or not, anon, these puzzles are toddler tier.
If there are two false statements, then there are no empty boxes with false statements, but there are two false statements, so contradiction.
So the third box must be false, but because there are no two false statements, then the other two boxes are true. Box 1 is empty, and box 2 says that box 3 is empty, so box 2 has the gems.
statements are either T/T/F (gem is in B) or F/F/T (gem is in A).
However, you can tell F/F/T is not possible, because if there are two false statements, there will always be at least one empty false box, i.e. if C is true, B is true, which cannot be.
So gem is in B.
if you hate relying on random rolls to progress then you will dislike it
It feels like that for the first ten percent of it. Like there’s so much to discover and explore and do, and the drafting mechanic is easily the most unique usage of a deck builder mechanic outside of the board games it rips the fuck off (castles of mad king Ludwig, labyrinth), but the actual meat of the game is just inane lore dumps that don’t amount to anything. There’s no payoff or ultimate purpose to completing all the puzzles. You eventually have everything unlocked and apparently the kid is heir to the throne of a conquered nation by at least four valid claims, but there is nothing in game the player can do with that.
Comparing it to myst or riven is simply wrong, as the only way that comparison holds is if there were no red/blue/white pages in myst, or no Catherine/ghen in riven. After solving all the puzzles the player character is still just a teenager living in a tent near a dynamically generated house he can’t sleep in.
Furthermore, once you get a fifth of the way into it, literally every mechanic is malevolently designed to waste your time.
I've been trying to connect the Boiler Room to the Lab for 10 days straight with no luck, even setting the Lab to commonplace. Also all the runs I get the bookstore I don't have money, and all the runs I get 300+ money I don't get the bookstore. I hate this fucking game.

Bad game design.
The game becomes much better when you use cheat engine to help bypass the atrocious RNG faggotry, but it would've been better if that's how it was designed. The only logical reason to add roguelite elements in a puzzle game like this is to artificially pad the length. However, the devs are turbo autistic so the base game can easily take 40-50 hours so there's no need to tack on another 30 just rerolling rooms and having failed runs.
the American revolution is SJW
amazing
the game is designed in a way that even if you don't progress towards whatever objective you had in mind - you are bound to find something new which can be explored further due to the sheer number of depth and clues that exist esp in the early game. once you are out of the early game you gradually build sufficient RNG mitigation that you can pretty much draft anything you need.
the hump I can see unexperienced roguelite players struggle with, is learning how to draft at the start - ie building a supply of gems, and tactical drafting of valuable dead ends. if you don't do this you might think the game fucks you over with RNG but you are just not strategizing enough and not leaving room for unlucky draws. there are even books which tell you to play this way if you explore and are curious enough.

Game is slop anyway probably most polarized releaee of 2025 either you love this garbage or you don't
make sure you route the power to the door before you draft
other tips are:
a certain upgrade disk will help here immensely
the combo of emerald necklace + study for rerolling
king's power
for the bookstore - I had this problem too, but mitigated it with a solarium and some reroll tech (emerald+study, or ink well). the bookstore is rare so it can be cumbersome to draw.
I lost the motivation to play shortly after reaching room 46. All the remaining mysteries feel like animal well "wait a minute that poster" bullshit. It doesn't help that solving a lot of the puzzles and mysteries didn't feel rewarding.
Great post, first time I see someone else summarize it this way
RNG is always a major complaint in -any- game; I think people just don't understand that you have to play minimizing risk and having a certain amount of flexibility
make sure you route the power to the door before you draft
This is really important
Adding to this,
Focus on something else for a bit while identifying rooms that have power lines on them.
This shouldn't really be needed but you've been 10 days at it so try something new
you are bound to find something new which can be explored further
90% of the time these are hints to puzzles you’ve already solved.
I dislike the randomness. I don't think it adds anything except padding to the game
he set his language to japanese
please touch grass
Eh. It's fun the get to the credits. Trying to 100% or just do some of the optional stuff is an awful experience.
so la mulana or worse?
blue prince is way less bullshity than any other puzzle game I have played. one of my favorite things about the game is how there are in-universe explanations for why certain mechanics exist, and all interactions are not just mere obstacles, items, or puzzles to overcome. there is motivation and reason behind almost everything you see and interact with (a bit hyperbolic, but you get the point).
also zero ARG faggotry.
Thanks anons, but I obviously know about power routing. The only thing I haven't considered is the king's power, so I'll try my luck now.
But how do your odds change if the game show host opens one of the empty boxes?
early game not really. later on, yes that's true and sometimes the discovery is only a lore tidbit. but those small details and seemingly fluff still make me appreciate the craft behind the game and is like a wink from the developer to the player, a testament to how the game oozes with attention to detail.
another player discovered those seemingly useless clues first and solved the mystery/puzzle in a totally different process than you - that's very cool.
The best part is how the game’s central mechanic, drafting, ultimately adds literally nothing to the game. The most complex it gets is powering rooms, which is trivialized by upgrading the aquarium to be a power source. All the actual “puzzles” are outside the drafting mechanic.
Anything left of the Kingdom of Jerusalem is utter and absolute woke nonsense.
This game was pretty awesome and I hope that its depth is an inspiration to future puzzle games.
so is the game bugged? Should I even pirate this?
that's a straight up lie
the only time i failed one was when i played it on the weekend without having my morning coffee yet. they arent too bad, i prefer them over the dartboard, since its just you doing gradeschool bedmas again.
even setting the Lab to commonplace
Fun fact: if you do that and draft the solarium, commonplace becomes rare. Uncommon becomes common, unusual becomes uncommon, and rare becomes unusual.
Have fun!
Reminder: the dev posts these threads, say hi to him at
Seems like a game I would like a lot but the randomness of the rooms is keeping me from buying the game.
I foresee myself being incredibly frustrated about not getting rooms I need to solve a puzzle.
This game is a piece of shit and I ended up dropping it because the mindless tedium of doing the same things over and over and praying to the rng is terrible game design. Its a complete failure on a conceptual level.
Also the story is boring as shit
If that were true, you could prove it. But you can’t. The only times drafting is a meaningful mechanic is when something else makes it so. Like the ascended throne wanting 8 blue rooms in a row or experiments triggering when you draft or roll a room. But both of these are just means to access something else.
I'd say give it a try, you'd know before the 2 hour refund period if you like it enough. This might be difficult depending on the person - but try to embrace the uncertainty, it's a core part of the experience and the game would be way less engaging without the randomness introduced by the drafting mechanic.
Been trying to jackhammer down the Secret Garden wall, but there's always some item I'm missing and it's pissing me off. RNG problem solutions suck.
Everything feels like it is already determined and your skill, you the player, do not matter.
The game is deliberately designed to seem a lot more interesting for two hours than it will be for the remainder. To waste your time and make it seem like there’s so much more than there is.
I have failed 6 times the 100 coins roulette, is this shit a coincidence or there's some catch to it?
Honestly great game regardless, but most of the post room 46 shit you should just use a guide for
get to final room after days upon days of getting cucked by poor drafting/rng
don't even get to go in myself
FUCK YOU
How do I find the motivation to do all the trophies/letters?
it's a good game but the drafting does become quite tedious after a while
the puzzles are not that hard and i'm still going through the game, but i enjoyed most of it. the most frustrating moments of the game came from, like i said, not drafting the shit i want to draft. but ultimately it does add to the experience, the unique drafting mechanic that is
i'm a bit of a brainlet so i'm stuck a bit but i'm inching forward as they say
what do you mean by drafting? the act of selecting a room, from the 3 choices? that's an integral part of the game and is what the game is at its core.
the only times drafting is a meaningful mechanic is when something else makes it so
uhm yes? why would you draft for the sake of drafting alone?
you draft in service of some objective, whether it's a puzzle, or maybe it's just a new room you havent encountered. I'm not sure why that makes drafting "not add anything to the game". sorry I can't follow the logic here.
it's designed to be interesting, no qualifications
well its not the jackhammer that breaks walls if that helps you avoid frustration in the future
There’s nothing worth even doing that. The sigils go nowhere, the atelier goes nowhere, the sanctum goes nowhere, etc, etc. the reward for 99% of the puzzles is more daily allowance but coins need to be trivial to solve them anyway.
it's great but I already moved, when is my next fix?
Just to be clear, you need the power hammer
Some strats:
Ask for a sledgehammer on employee network
Toolshed, work towards getting a wrench, then fish for the workshop and modify it. It always has an item and a lot of times it's the battery/broken lever
Solve hall of mirrors, fish for workbench
Get garage whenever possible, this is another common location for it
Use coat check whenever you don't complete the triad
Tradepost for missing items
The only 2 times I failed this were when the White box was blank and I got confused.
Can you ever re-place foundations?
Mine isn't in a terrible place but it'd be cool to get it deeper into the house
monks blessing I think rerolls it?
And I finally got it holy shit now I can rest in peace
fuck, I meant the repellent
Imagine the game if all the rooms were always accessible. What changes? Nothing. The game’s central mechanic is irrelevant to its content.
on to the next potential rooms anon - electricity isn't just for lab work ;)
False intrigue.
Dude, I wasn't able to get the Lab connected to the Boiler Room until post game due to RNG.
And then I didn't even do it with the Boiler Room, I did it with the upgraded Eel Aquarium.
to add on to this
question for this thread, i resolved 6 out of 8 doors and found 3 letters
is there more to the game after that or is that more or less it?
if all the rooms were always accessible
It wouldn't be able to filter retards as easily, they'd "beat" it and shit up every thread talking about how "its not even deep bro, I beat that shit easy"
Power hammer, whatever. I know what items I need. Coat Check's currently holding the garden key. I hardly ever see the wrench so I never thought about using it. Don't know what the Hall of Mirrors does. Never solved it, but I've got a good guess on its solution.
Annoyed the hell out of me when I went through the trouble of hooking it to the garage and it's just another way to open the door.
You can call it quits once you reach Room 46 if you want. The post game is just solving the deeper mysteries in the house, like the point of those letters, but there are more hidden room types and drafting options that you'll only see in post game.
Isn't the hall of mirrors just hiding a disk?
You got pos 4 wrong.
A box with a false statement is empty (F)
Box 2 is empty
These are conflicting
Kek
This is the most shallow puzzle game on the market
i reached it a long time ago, i'm currently stuck on figuring out what the room letter puzzle means and deciphering the new clue book
quitting the game after reaching 46 seems a bit premature, no? it's the easiest "puzzle" in the game
get into security room
useless cutscene plays
I can already guess this game is just pretentious bullshit and am probably free to skip all cutscenes
Did you ever reach it again?
So you’re admitting all the puzzles are shallow and easy.
This is true of most rougelikes. The worst genre ever
hall of mirrors is a 4 way room that enables you to draft multiple of the same room
Post the tits and/or cunny and I may consider it.
yes, it's easy when you have so many options for levers you can use
the room letter puzzle
Don’t waste your time. It’s a “clue” that all the safes are opened by dates.
??? if you can't watch a cutscene in a puzzle game, why are you even playing it? what else is there to do?
1, not the anon you were arguing with
2, there is no real hard puzzle stopping you from doing the antechamber, simply solve basic bitch rotation puzzle in the garden and then go to that door since all the rooms are accessible, then just use the key and win yipee you did it
all the fun puzzles are things not directly related to the antechamber
Notice how all discussion of this game is framed as checklist completion. That betrays the fact that the actual content of the information you are "rewarded" for solving the puzzles is nonexistent. This game has no substance.
As someone who usually loves puzzle games, I really didn't get all the praise for this game. It feels horrible having to rely on RNG to get certain rooms to advance things, rather than being able to just advance things through problem-solving like most other puzzle games.
And the actual puzzles weren't even hard or interesting either. Not sure why it gets so much praise, it just feels like a 7.5/10 to me.
a box with a false statement is empty
*A* box.
Singular.
Since there are two false statement boxes there is no contradiction.
The “solution” to hall of mirrors is to have at least three rooms connected to it to access the center button which is an elevator and the cabinets at the four corners have items and extra room copies in them.
Yes its singular.
The statement is saying
There exist a false box that is empty
That is true because box 2 is empty.
So it can't be false
i'm confused about the gates part... but i assume the safe codes are dates related to mary in some way
that's how i opened a few at least
I just use/abuse Secret Garden whenever I can.
No, no, he's need to do that puzzle so he can figure out the dates for two safes. The Workshop room just tells you what that square's letter is.
None of the post-game puzzles are interesting. If you’re going to hop on a reply chain, be sure to read the rest of the posts. Such as
nta but I've 'solved' the mirror room before and never figured out why I would actually want to go up in the elevator. What am I missing?
solve puzzles??? Gameplay??
What's the point you're trying to make? There's a lot to uncover and there's a lot to be "rewarded" by if you dig deep enough
idk you seem gay and retarded
It’s the number of busts in the room of gaites
The only times drafting is a meaningful mechanic is when
...you get certain advantages at the start of the day and spend the rest of the time focusing on specific synergies, replace gem cost with food now you need to find lots of food
...you are looking for certain items or rooms and finding ways to optimize the search, oh i need to craft a power tool, better get attic, workshop and commissary and tool shed or trade post that run
...you are investigating theories or solving certain meta puzzles, if i put that room in that specific grid position or what if i approach it from a different angle..?
few rooms turn right, so you have to draft around that
running out of steps? make you sure you have dinner and kitchen in appropriate places
machinarium: need to craft 8 mechanical doors, if only there was a way to help, oh there is, either use the wrench to make them more common or use the electro magnet
got experiment for digging hole = reward, synergy with root cellar, oh and make you sure get more green rooms = profit
got no keys? better spawn foyer, then spawn great hall
got a lot of keys? better spawn great hall too!
need money for shop or laundry? better spawn vault or casino
need to face south for ladyship
gotta grind corners for conservatory, if only there was a way to help... oh there is, rook upgrade!
wanna do some specific goal challenges like full house and max dead-ends? better get compass or draxus curse
need eighth ranks for blue tents, umm maybe tunnel is a helpful time saver
some rooms requiring to be spawned then approached from a different angle, better be careful
need library or bookshop? better get nook upgrade and better order magnifying glass for the shop the previous day
need to revisit a room a bunch of times? better figure out monk blessing
etc etc there's like five in-game books full of drafting gimmick tips and plenty of other shit you just find through your own experimentation and play style
saying drafting has no depth is retarded
The upside down cabinets at the corners can be opened and there’s useless shit inside.
finally get to new room
read note
"please forgive me...I left *key item* in the zanzibart room"
blueprincefags: Wow! this lore and gameplay is great!
you're why games now give you hints 8 times in a row and force you to press a button each time to make sure you saw it. Because you'll insta skip a cutscene that told you what to do, and then go on a forum or the reviews and be a gay retard yelling about DOOOOOD HOW COULD I HAVE KNOWN
adhd retard
So the central mechanic is busywork.
boot up cod lil bro
that would make for a way less interesting game. it removes the tension and decision making that is inherent with the non-deterministic aspect of drawing rooms.
if you can just draft, any room without RNG it becomes a straight up puzzle game, devalues the resource management aspect, and fucks up the progression (in-game and knowledge -wise) from humble niece to Architect God-King.
it sounds like you dislike the roguelite aspects of the game - which is totally valid and might just mean the game isn't for you.
adhd kids are the ones who love watching videos albeit
There is zero discussion of the world, characters, and lore of the blue prince because those elements are lacking. It's like how gacha games never get any discussion of gameplay and only girl gooning because there is no substance to the gameplay. If a game has a narrative worth caring about it will be discussed. Fucking Elden Ring has an abysmal narrative full of holes and even it gets discussed at length so the bar is in hell. This game only has checklisting discussion. No discussion of deeper themes because there aren't any/what is present is uninteresting or uninspired.
but I fucking clicked on them, are you kidding me?
Connecting a Power Source to the Laundry Room let's you use a special Laundry Machine
Connecting a Power Source to the Furnace gives you a free key
Just curious, is there anything in the tiny safe in the drafting room or am I just poking at a toy?
The game itself is uninteresting but it throws rng in your face to hide that until you can’t refund it.
The developer says his favorite game is riven but this is riven without any characters to help or conflicts to resolve. There’s no cracking open the star fissure moment or accessing the resistance’s world.
the former
I’m not joking and the game pulls the “you can’t click on this… just kidding” several times.
okay lets talk about how I would fucking hate my family if they all instantly blamed shit on me like they do for old man baron
What puzzle game do you think is good?
wasnt there a blueprint in there?
Duplicate blueprints.
the actual puzzles weren't even hard or interesting either
did you complete the sanctum, the sigils, the exam, the ascension, a new clue, the secret clock, the blue maze, the core...? all without any spoiler or guide?
only 5% of steamies completed those, if you only did room 46 your opinion has zero weight
most people completed the most interesting parts of the game
as shit gets less interesting less people complete it
You can literally measure how interesting the game is by that image.
If you didn't spend more than 20+ hours in the game your opinion has 0 weight
Every single time
Best part about sigils is it’s just telling the kid about a glorified road trip his mom took. It’s pretty much solving puzzles to watch a slide show of a vacation someone took years ago.
yeah thats actually true though, what are you a game reviewer you little fagboi? Oh nooooo I can't just put time into games :(, but I can argue all day long in a thread about how it was bad actually!
How about you spend all day sucking on my nuts
Nooo you can't play a game for 20 hours and decide its shit because it gets good at the 21 hour mark
All your accomplishing is proving is putting time into this game is a sign of low iq
there is little discussion because finding that shit for yourself is a large part of the game. for example the red prince book:
is a simple children's story book with cute illustrations
it is also a criticism of the Fenn Aries rule
is also a toddlers first metafictional tale
is ultimately about Simon, the character and his relationship with the author
the tutorial is not the most interesting part, lol
correct, the game is designed as an adhd normie pleb filter
and you failed the test congrats
glark glark glark glark
good whore
did you complete the sanctum, the sigils, the exam, the ascension, a new clue, the secret clock, the blue maze, the core...? all without any spoiler or guide?
No. Why would I, if I didn't enjoy the stuff prior to it? Your screenshot just shows how incredibly boring most people found the game, to the point that they didn't even want to do any of the extra stuff.
You could not be more wrong.
The dev explicitly designed the game because he thought it would help people who normally get stuck in a puzzle game and be unable to progress
Only the third book, blue prince is about simon. And it’s just a copy of the dead-mom-animal-crossing thing.
wasnt it HSS's trip?
sorry I didn't play the game I just watched an eceleb stream it
the game is designed as an adhd normie pleb filter
And yet all the 45-50 year old retarded normie "gaming journalists" all seem to love it.
Thanks for further evidence the game attracts retards and makes them feel smart for wasting their time.
There are two false boxes in Possibility 4: one with gems and one without gems.
While your observation correct, the opposite is equally correct.
There is *A* false box that is empty, and there is *A* false box that is full.
All this means is that statement 2 does not give us any useful new information, only reinforcing the other statements.
but blue prince is red prince with the blue part at the end
Work the tip.
my interpretation was Simon was literally obsessed with stories at a young age, and the red prince was just a creative extension of that (and a nod that Simon was co-opted since birth ss a fenn aeris citizen, despite being of noble bearing from an opposing faction)
Mary started writing because Simon wanted more stories to be read to him, and she ran out of material so she started writing her own.
what do I do if I have a door without a key? Just die?
Yep.
Feel free to get the last word. Seems really important to you. Closest thing to a victory you’ll experience.
pay attention to previous rooms, you might have missed some clues, chests or items
explore the grounds
Dang 15 year old nationalists. Stupid kid should know he’s king of a dead empire.
dogshit game
kys shill
Mmm yeah baby
It's more like
finally get to a new room
read note
literally just a grocery list
if you're lucky enough to have a magnifying glass you can read tiny letters saying "the key is close to the thing most dear to me"
turns out it's actually just underneath some random deer bust in a super rare room
you need to combine a bunch of specific items to get the key
the chest the key unlocks has a tiny deer engraving on the side that's near impossible to see, and is in a completely different, equally rare room
inside the chest is 1 gem and another grocery list
find all 12 grocery lists and they'll spell out something you already know :)
The game's irredeemably dogshit. Who the fuck thought it'd be a good idea to hide a puzzle solution behind RNG? Every time you attempt a puzzle solution (and said solution may not even be correct) you have to roll a slot machine to see whether you get the required rooms and items. The puzzles themselves are way less interesting than in other games in the genre, the only real standout is the paintings, and even that involves a fuckton of grind.
There is *A* false box that is empty, and there is *A* false box that is full.
Sure but again the issue here is the assignment of truth and false.
Box 2 cannot be false in pos 4 as the conclusion implies its ture.
Hence pos 4 is a contradiction
More generally the issue is in how you obtained the negation of the statement
A box with a false statement is empty (F)
Translated: <A box with a false statement is not empty>
Is not proper negation.
The statement being false doesn't imply that there exists a false box that isn't empty.
It implies that there is no false that is empty.
Hm. Interesting.
So you're saying that the proper negation should be something like:
There's NOT a box with a false statement that is empty
If so, then I believe you are absolutely correct.
That resolves the logic puzzle quite nicely.
Well played.
Yep, that's it.
The way to think about it is that a statement saying
There exists x
Gets turned into
For all entries (not x)
and vice versa
Ok, but I swear this one is unsolvable:
A box that displays the word "True" is false.
A box that displays the word "Gems" is empty. <- Only white box
The white box is true and does not contain gems
Bump
How many 'runs' till the puzzles get repetitive?
Might pick it up next sale
Can anyone give me a tip on what to do with the two pictures in each room having a difference of one letter and what that has to do with the Study? I assume those two things are related since the Study highlights that all over the place. I feel like it's the only "pre-pre-game" puzzle I have left before I am able to start tackling the high level "actual game" puzzles
The roguelike elements are actually very fun at the beginning and only get annoying after 30 hours or so, when you're focused on specific singular puzzles. I'm not saying it's perfect design but it incredibly original and refreshing. Lots of people are angry for literally no reason.
If you've been to the study and you don't get it, you are way too stupid for video games. Not this video game, which is on the easy end, video games in general. Stick to following compass markers.
But enough about Outer Wilds
2-3 hours in. Real frustration starts happening around the 6 hour mark, that's more or less where I dropped it.
in case you are genuine
you take out the extra letter between the two words. the classrooms spell it out. corn + acorn = A, bridge + bride = G, etc etc
get stuck halfway through on 3 different resets
dont understand the point of this, uninstall
am i missing something? the only puzzles i found were the true-false boxes.
I think I see the logic, though I think the boxes should have been reworded to be clearer.
If you consider box 1 to be displaying the word true, and box 2 to be displaying the word gems then.
t,f,t
Contradiction with box 1, as no box containing 'true' is false
And contradiction with box 3 as box 2 is false
t,f,f
Box 3 being false implies box 2 is either false or it has the gems (and it is false)
Box 2 being false implies either box 2 or box 3 have the gems
Gems can be in either box 2 or 3.
f,t,t
Contradiction with box 1, as there is a box containing 'true' that is false (box 1)
f,t,f
Contradiction with box 1, as there is a box containing 'true' that is false (box 1, 3)
f,f,t
Contradiction with box 3 as box 2 is false
t,t,f
Box 1's statement is met as Box 3 is false.
Box 3's statement being false implies box 2 is either false or has gems.
Box 2 being true means it must have the gems, and it is true because box 3 is empty.
Hence gems in box 2
Both t,f,f and t,t,f can be satisfied if the gems are in box 2 so I assume that's the answer.
Ugh, too long to see the flaws through the cracks of a 2 hour "trial". Guess I'm waiting for at least 50%
That's the part I get, but I don't know where to "input" that information
Ok bros I gave it a chance but this game is just shit. Get this outta this website.
I mind.
yep
Since you've already been to the study, I'll just give you this.
Just run around the game for 10 hours until you find a hint for that room and then find the room again. Doesn't that sound fun?
it's not even a hard riddle are you people serious
Yes because they didn't play the game and are just antagonistic faggots. Why do you think they all same the same thing? Do you really think they got that far lol?
The "Thick" one is like 90% red herrings. They are retarded """"puzzles"""".
actually I was annoyed by having to click each square repeatedly to input letters. Shan't be buying.
wow you people are stupid
why the fuck are you playing puzzle games if your IQ is in the double digits
like, you're not even trying to get smarter
isn't double digits the limit to iq? That's what my doctor told me
For you maybe.
The only logic puzzles are in the parlor, billiard's room, and clock tower. None of the other puzzles require "IQ". I'm not counting the room 8 puzzles because they are ass and require you to read the developer's mind to understand what letters are considered thin and what boxes are considered neighbors.
IQ isn't just logic puzzles dipshit. Sorry the 5th grade failed you on learning basic comprehension to the point you assumed you have to read minds.
IQ isn't just logic
Yes it is. Have you never seen an IQ test before? It only tests logic. It's why no one IRL actually cares about IQ (only dumb people). Holy shit, you are legitimately retarded.
IQ is literally just a score of how quickly you can solve simple logic puzzles.
If you're using it as a shorthand for general intelligence outside of that, you're a retard.
Doubling down on being wrong and samefagging
LOL just google it dude.
Fuck I over thought it and thought that the letter difference was going to apply to a different room, thanks.
itt anon learns he's a sub 70 IQ apeazoid
maybe if you used the resources around you, you'd be able to figure this out unlike in the game
Alright, well played. Guess I just suck at this.
Jonathan Blow hates this game. Are you saying a guy who made his own programming language, engine, and puzzle game has low IQ? Anyone with any IQ above room temperature would realize the game is wasting their time on purpose and do something more productive.
Then why are you here?
get called a retard
get proven you're a retard
w-w-well Johnathan Blow hates this game
okay, any other canned responses from a sub 20 iq parrot?
I'm working online and posting on Anon Babble between submissions because if I go to fast I will get banned. Made about $25 so far while following this thread. You're defending a shit game for no reason.
Okay, what does you arguing about shit that's blatantly wrong have to do with Johnathan Blow? Struggling to stay on topic because you have nothing of value to say or just that stupid?
ok, why does he hate it?
so you come to v to talk about how games waste your time loooool
You said only people with low IQ hate the game and he clearly does not have low IQ. Almost nothing in the game is logical and most of the puzzles just require you to run around the different rooms until you randomly find hints.
Because the puzzles are dogshit
NTA but
What game has good puzzles? Not being facetious, I'm asking because I want to play it.
Yes, the 1st *real* puzzle is learning to use up bad rooms early on so you have less chance of dead ending(also you should just accept you'll blow through some bad days getting nowhere)
If you want something to occupy your mind while you ram your head at the rng trying to get deeper, pay attention to the paintings on the wall.
Where did anyone say that people with low IQ hate the game? Looks like those reading comprehension skills aren't working so well.
Maybe you should get back to "work"
not them but I didn't get it, I tried inputting a bunch of words for the color red for one of the paintings before giving up and doing a less annoying room
A Monster's Expedition, Can of Wormholes. If you want bullshit note-taking games La-Mulana 1/2 destroys Blue Prince. At least the hints in La-Mulana are on glowing tablets and not in arbitrary spots in randomly drafted rooms.
Ah another classic Johnathan Blowout.
Guys he's so smart he speaks in absolutes.
Clearly the greatest measure of intelligence is speaking like your opinions are facts.
Loved his Animal Well play through.
Reconsider it with the added context of what the 5-letter puzzle's answer was
Contemplate the fact the objects are mirrored, and the placement of the P
it's a P on red, but it's the mirrored side so it's actually P on DER, PONDER! WHOA!
what a masterpiece, 10/10
It's designed by somebody who hates you.
He's absolutely right.
By my standards 110 is pretty low, so yes.
Important to note this guy made The Witness so his opinions are pretty bad.
thats so feckin gay
The puzzle design in Blue Prince is if like the puzzles on the panels in The Witness were randomized and you had to keep restarting the game to get one of the rule tutorial puzzles in an accessible location
The gallery puzzles are all very literal and synonyms
the game is racist against ESLs
The Witness is 100x more bullshit than Blue Prince and hates the player way more. There's a reason people say it's the best worst game you shouldn't play.
The walking is way more tedious and a lot of the puzzles are just knowing where to click when you look at something which requires you circling around the map like a vulture until you find a point you can interact with something.
because you have to screenshot EVERYTHING
i was strategically placing rooms to avoid dead ends as best I could (except on the first day where I didn't get the gist yet), but got dead ends anyway. my takeaway then was that yes, it was just bad rng and on other runs i'd get better chances, but that also sounded like a total waste of time in my head because i wasn't having any fun so far. nice atmosphere though
I got like 99% of the puzzles in The Witness without help, it's definitely not bullshit. I only looked up the ship door puzzle and a few environment puzzles I couldn't find. The obelisks point you in the right direction. Blue Prince is clearly worse with the RNG, and it's not even close.
This isn't a puzzle game. It's a puzzle themed resource management roguelike deckbuilder.
Congrats you googled the hardest puzzle and said you didn't struggle with any but that one. Wow you sure look smart on an anonymous image board.
The RNG is fine you brainlet the rule discovery is 100x more interesting in Blue Prince because there's no puzzles I know how to solve but the game tells me it's wrong like some of the fucking branch puzzles.
One statement is always totally true and one box is always totally false and the third box can be either or a mix
You can become the king though. Oh I guess you didn’t unlock that.
the puzzles are incredibly shallow. people say they get deeper but i found 5/7 red letters when i quit at about 30 hours and the puzzles were still shallow
There’s a fair bit of grind late game but you can mitigate it.
Bookstore only spawns off the library
There's a reason people say it's the best worst game you shouldn't play.
Only Joseph Anderson says that and he's a drooling retard. Blue Prince isn't even in the same league as The Witness. Play Blue Prince if you're idea of a difficult puzzle is a coloring book
What branch puzzles? No idea what you are talking about. The ship door puzzle is bullshit. I knew what I was supposed to do but I'm tone deaf so it's just not happening so I looked it up. That's the only BS puzzle in the whole game as far as I'm concerned. Also, you're not really meant to find all of the environment puzzles they don't even do anything when you find them all. They're meant to get you to start looking at the game outside of the puzzle panels so you can find the ending in the tutorial area. Blue Prince is a shit game. No one is getting 99% in that game without running around in circles for 100 hours.
It’s totally fine because there’s plenty to do and learn but around day 60-120 you can get stuck with one thing you’re trying to do and it’s not happening.
The nice thing is you can keep increasing your allowance and starting with like 50 gold actually helps quite a lot. Not to mention storing the master key in coat check and using blackbridge to access security door unlock from any computer.
I’ve only triggered the radiation all doors unlock once
I got stuck in that and ironically I only succeeded once I got the electric eel acquarium
Bookstore only spawns off the library
I never realized that but funny enough, after this run I got a decent run where I bought all the books
Many red rooms send power and you can tell if power is sent even when blinded in the drafts
Tone dead
Not even mentioning the speaker jungle area that's completely sound based
Yeah you just didn't play the game lol.
I had some ideas for sequels to this.
One is you have a train and you can attach cars like rooms and ride it around to stations which the specific rooms you help you unlock specific things.
I know all of that. I know basically all of what has been said here. It was just a combination between really bad luck and getting distracted with other objectives.
Play Blue Prince if you're idea of a difficult puzzle
Play Blue Prince if you are idea of a difficult puzzle
Maybe go back to coloring books lmao.
The puzzles in the jungle are easy to brute force there aren't that many possible solutions plus the birds are way easier to hear than random ship noises
I solved all the puzzles by brute forcing them
Okay so it's a bad puzzle game, thanks.
Myst Hypercard sound effects mine train puzzle
I brute forced way more of the dart puzzles in Blue Prince trying to learn what the symbols mean than anything in The Witness, so if brute forcing makes for a bad puzzle game then Blue Prince is way worse. They should have turned off the dart board after you mess up one time and made it only a single puzzle like the parlor.
wow, bro, a grammar error in a comment i wrote in three seconds. YouR right, that completely invalidates my point
Had to brute force the dart puzzle of all things
You're talking about a math puzzle that takes like 10 minutes to figure out versus an entire area that doesn't properly teach you its mechanics but the puzzles are small so it's easy to brute force.
You made no point. What else is anyone supposed to point out in your dogshit posts.
You're talking about a math puzzle that takes like 10 minutes to figure out versus an entire area that doesn't properly teach you its mechanics but the puzzles are small so it's easy to brute force.
If you couldn't work out the mechanics of that area, it's because you're a retard
Is it the tone? Is it the volume? Is it the notes? Is it the soundwaves? No one knows. It's simple to figure out you're supposed to do something with the volume but what about it? No one knows, including you who had to brute force it like many.
The Witness came out just under ten years ago. In ten years time, people will still be talking about The Witness, no one will be talking about Blue Prince.
Yeah because Johnathan Blow makes another video crashing out about another puzzle game.
Dudes a lolcow
so fucking accurate
Hall of mirrors gives you permanent duplicates of standard rooms in your house, I got extra east/west wing halls and extra passageways (with passageway axed) to make it near impossible for me to fail in the drafting stage without supremely fucking up
>zero SJW bullshit
Wasn't Herbert gay or some shit?
Yeah, but in the closet for all his life as [insert childhood years] social norms intended.
even getting to open the damn thing was a pain in the ass but now you hit me with this? come on
Interesting. I usually fill the house with the Hallway and also makes my runs pretty consistent.
congrats u king now
now go sleep in your tent
thats just the shed outside
this game FUCKING sucks by almost every metric, the rogue-lite element hides how braindead the puzzles actually are
hey kid put the antechamber outside
omg you actually did it what a moron
Coolest part of that was bugging out the actual antechamber to open but not spawn room 46 and shockingly enough, not falling to my death.
This one is pretty easy.
Multiple boxes contain the word gems, and at least one has to be empty, so B is true.
Both A and C contain the word true. Since B is true, A and C can't both be true. A says one of them is false, which is true.
A is true and says C is false, so C is false (also at least one box must be false as a rule)
Gems are in white box since C says they're not
I didn't take the note to be an insult. Instead it's supposed to be a note for people who hadn't reached Room 46 yet and tried to monk the Antechamber to see if they could "cheat" their way there, but instead you're "so close, yet so far." Which is extremely, EXTREMELY unlikely since opening the diary to get the hint to put the Antechamber there, and doing so, takes a lot more steps and time than getting to just Room 46.
me solving gallery & room 8 in 5 minutes
me reading browns seethe
Although it's not the case in these examples, I'm almost sure that some of the later puzzles rely on focusing on the messages that actually mention gem positioning. You'll have to accept that there's no way to determine whether the other one(s) are true or not.
7*
Yes but even then you can always fall back to making truth tables as a last resort.
As even if there is no way to determine if a box is true or false there should always be only 1 box all the truth table variations can agree on being a a candidate for gems.
Blue Price
Blue Prints
HOLY-
Botany manor shits in this game when it comes to logic puzzles.
The Witness shits in this game when it comes to learning mechanics and meta intention.
Outer Wilds shits in this game when it comes to creativity and looping experiences
if you think BP is not a puzzle game, then that same applies to Outer Wilds, except even more so
BP is a puzzle game but a bad one, the puzzles are weak where a lot of them base around poor wordplay to the point you get hints (closed off by rng with no notion of pacing whatsoever) that spell out the solutions, like gates=gait
The Castle puzzle is bad. The logic of doing the "castle" move on the wall is total nonsense, first off, there has to be at least 2 squares between a rook and a king for a castle to be made. In the game puzzle, there's one. Second, there's literally a chess board in front of you in that room, and a "sort of" chess board in the house. And yet it's the freaking wall. Fuck you. Furthermore, why have this whole chess power mechanic which is 4th wall breaking really if it's gonna be also gonna be a puzzle solution? Not the use of the mechanic, the selection process of the mechanic. It's total garbage. Let's keep going too. What's beyond the castle puzzle? A bunch of Mora Jai puzzles and the worst puzzle in the game. The worst puzzle in the game, where magically something happens if you are in the room at 1:30 on a day when there's a specific constelation with nothing on you. What in the fuck. How did the puzzle-makers devise this? "It's just a game bro" - no. The puzzles in the game are very clearly deliberately made by the characters in the game. They must and should follow minimal physical logic. How do they trigger a mechanism based on what you have on you, or the constellation. Maybe with an entire network connection between a digital telescope, the clocks and some kind of scanner to detect what the player has on him. It's an ass-pull. It's nonsense. "Uhhh but what about like the magic of drafting room, that's not logical bro" - yes. But the game acknowledges that shit is weird and magical. All the characters do. There is a note that says magical room drafting is something from ancient Corarica, possibly a long lost spell or something. I'm done ranting. It's bad
t. dsp
not playing your fotm slop
fucking normalfags
Anything past sigils is schizo tier that you need some mental malfunction and way too much free time to crack.
The whole
with nothing on you
Is also an extremely weird condition.
In practice, all it means is that instead of using the hour or so of waiting for something useful your best bet is to just wait it out.
As you could easily get stuck with items you can't spend.
Coming to that point at a specific time after seeing a specific constellation should on its own already be enough of a knowledge check, so I can't see any purpose for also forcing players to spend all their resources ontop of that.
if you're idea
Lol
La Mulana 2 had the same puzzle but they give you a guy who just takes all your shit. Dude legit just ripped off the puzzle from La Mulana but didn't realize why it was good. When you first find the guy in LM2 you just think it's a troll but then when you realize it's for a puzzle it feels fun to figure out.
hey nefew ya wanna hear about me traveling the world and what them places was like?
fuck off unc
aight it’s okay I’ll tell ya later
no you won’t I don’t care
alright alright, well I’m dead now so here’s the house but you live in a tent
the sigil puzzles require you learn about the uncles great big road trip
god damnit uncle
This game is super unapproachable and not even playable by non-english speakers. It's the furthest thing from a normalfag game
“Roguelite deck builders” are the pinnacle of normalfag “games.”
not even playable by non-english speakers
turbo ESL here, you can't be more wrong
The RNG stops normies from getting stuck and you can stop when you get to room 46, it's the most normalfag puzzle game ever. Normies will just think "whoah I beat the game and didn't even need any of the hints" when rolling credits and move on with their life.
I hate obtuse puzzle games. I wish the whole thing was just the roguelike drafting part.
Eventually Simon should save enough allowance to just buy items from a store so he can permanently have them and use them in the rooms, how much can a shovel or a sledgehammer cost? An idea for a DLC for the late game
I looked up the solution to every puzzle
I was excited about finding the car keys and the garage because I was hoping he could just drive the fuck away and never think about his gay uncle an the country’s gay history again
shits on*, ESL-kun
The best “fuck you” powered room is the furnace. You get a key. Basic. Singular.
