Versotards are brainlets

These "people" are low IQ retards who get persuaded by mere PRESENTATION rather than seeing beyond surface level and understanding the situation.

In Lies of P we are introduced to Antonia, a wheelchair bound lady who is suffering from something called the Petrification Disease, she lost her eyesight is stated to be in constant pain. Late in the game we are proposed 2 options, either give Antonia the cure which will shorten her lifespan, but allow her to live what she has left happily, or let her stay sick in order for her life to go on for longer. You can 100% bet Versotards in Lies of P gave the cure to Antonia, because it is presented as the right thing to do (which it is).

Maelle/Alicia in Expedition 33 is facing the same exact dilemma, but they choose to doom her to a life of pain and suffering here merely based on the presentation of the issue, surface level understanding of the ongoing situation, because her dad wants her LE MOVE ON XD (from chronic pain and blindness, somehow).

But the core issue is the exact fucking same.

samething.jpg - 1200x1478, 239.79K

Move on Maellefag.

Maelle = blue pill
Verso = red pill
It's really that simple.

So you withheld the cure from Antonia?

The characters in clair are so fucking ugly, amazing that south koreans could make more realistic and appealing faces on a game that plays on a fucking Xbox One at base

versotards when they realize they're literally engaging in escapism by playing video games

file.png - 679x339, 489.76K

Having 0 empathy for Maelle's family and friends getting wiped out shows how little they actually care about their families as well. Their families could be skinned alive in front of them but they would be fine with it as long as the perpetrator tells them their family wasn't real.

Maellefags:
MUH GENOCIDE, HER QOL BAWWWWWW

Reinor was right

The painted world is not real. Verso is dead. Face reality. Stop painting.

If you choose Maelle, you don't care about her.

You all withheld the cure from Antonia then? Your justification in that case?

Reinor was right

Maybe he was. But Renoir sure wasn't.

I never did a playthrough where Antonia goes without a cure. Is she in pain by the end?
She spends the remaining days happily otherwise which seems like a logical end for her.

You chose the wrong ending and got rightfully scolded by the game. Move on already.

The core problem with versotards is that they don't think the painted people are real.

They don't realize that if they aren't real it breaks the entire plot fundamentally. Painted Verso himself has no agency if they aren't real, yet they see no contradiction supporting his 'decision'.

The rare versofag who thinks they are real is just insane and objectively pro-betrayal, pro-genocide etc

this video game script written by...picrel scolded me, I shall learn my lesson and change my world views immediately

Just say you're an NPC mate

1.png - 496x916, 238.98K

I never did a playthrough where Antonia goes without a cure

Because giving her the cure is the right thing to do. Just like letting Maelle live in the painting is.

Even if you take away the humanity of the painted people, for Maelle alone it is the wrong choice. She is in the same boat as Antonia, they didn't think and chose based on the wishes of LE THEME LET GOOOOO. Verso ending is an oversimplified decision made by low IQ retards.

Maelle/Alicia in Expedition 33 is facing the same exact dilemma

No she isn't. There is nothing stopping Maelle from learning how to paint her own canvas if she leaves Verso's.

A waste on someone who was gonna die anyway.

Versotards still missing the point entirely.

Maelle lost.

Antonia should have just learned to make the Gold Coin Fruit cure herself and suffer for the meantime

That's your argument btw.

The painted people aren't real, they're worthless NPCs and I will destroy them all.

What a subtle reference to breaking a hymen.

You're gonna die anyway as well dummy, is everything you use a waste?

is this what maellefag starting to resort too?

No, the comparison is just illogical.
No, it isn't. Maelle is from a family of painters, there is nothing stopping her from learning how to paint her own canvas, or even asking her parents to paint one for her.

Maelle/Alicia in Expedition 33 is facing the same exact dilemma

Spoiled selfish bitch did all of this for herself, she didn't really care about Verso otherwise she would've let him die, he was a means to an end to get what she wanted.

They are all dead bro, she didn't revive them she painted new ones she controls. This won't make you happy but insane.

is everything you use a waste?

No, because I'm not dying and they got proper usage.

svedBERG

Uuuhhhh...

source: it came to me in a dream

everyone's dying bitch

YOU WILL PLAY THE PIANO FOR ME
AND YOU WILL LIKE IT

Maelle/Alicia in Expedition 33 is facing the same exact dilemma

No, she isn't. If the people of Lumiere are truly sentient then this choice doesn't only affects her life like Antonia, but also thousands of other people that get no say on the matter because she's god
If she fulfilled painted Verso's dying wish and didn't bring him back you could argue that these people will live a happy life, as it stands they'll be forced to play along until she dies

If only Maelle knew how to paint instead of just copying her brother's shit...

Aline copes with the death of her son by painting her family inside the canvas containing a chunk of her deceased son's soul

her and Renoir's conflict provokes a great collapse, turning the entire painting into a war zone

Geppetto copes with the death of his son by creating a perfect puppet containing a chunk of his deceased son's soul

his and Manus' conflict provokes a great collapse, turning the entire Krat City into a war zone

except P is a good boy unlike Verso, so he finds his own identity and the reason to live

Everything after arc 1 shouldn't exist

The red pill is that the machines will absolutely win given enough time. There is no meaningful choice. It's pure ego wankery that has zero impact on the future. The red pill is that your choices don't matter to anyone except yourself. If you truly understand your insignificance would you performatively act out a mode of being based on unfounded delusions of importance? Red pillers cannot comprehend the deeper workings of reality.

B-B-BUT WHAT ABOUT LE RENOIR, THINK ABOUT HIS FEEFEES

So it's either Maelle suffers or Renoir suffers. It's pretty selfish of a parent to expect their child to suffer just so they can be together.

t. speedplayer

The entire issue Renoir had with Maelle staying is that being inside of a canvas for long periods causes them to slowly weaken and die. If she paints another canvas it would have the same effect. Renoir expects her to stay in reality with them.

there is nothing stopping her from learning how to paint her own canvas

Except for the fact that she's stated to suck at it. My parents are doctors that doesn't mean I have to be one, idiot.

Who the fuck is talking about the people of Lumiere in OP? He's talking about Antonia and her illness compared to Alicia's own physical condition. Are bots raiding this thread or something? What the fuck?

versotards might as well be bots, so kind of yeah

So it I could repaint you into something that looks the same but obviously has no free will it's okay to kill you?

Are you saying that Verso a liar?

Yes, which why Maelle could learn some self-control. If Verso and Clea could do it as children then there is no reason why Maelle can't learn to enjoy the canvas in moderation.
Doesn't mean that she's hopeless. If child Verso can paint a canvas, the Maelle would capable of doing it eventually.

My parents are doctors that doesn't mean I have to be one, idiot.

No, but if you wanted to be one you could've been. Retarded comparison anyway.

I don't think gepetto and manus really were opposed. Manus is just a generic ASCEND AND EVOLVE villain of the week messing around with arcane forces beyond his grasp. Gepetto really doesn't make a lot of contextual sense with his decisions. It's clear that P is his son and all the research backs it up. So why not accept that P as your son, mission accomplished? Why even bother with transplanting what's the point? It's thinly veiled gameplay motivations. Lies of P has an interesting premise but an utterly abysmal execution of the ideas. I do not have faith in future execution either.

Antonia taking a medicine is not the same as Alicia playing god
Everyone can understand why Alicia doesn't want to be fucked up for life, but no one can justify why she needs to do it in Verso's canvas instead of her own

The Lumierians are people with a valid existence, thoughts and feelings, and deserve to exist for all their struggles

BUT

I don't trust Alicia at this mental state at all to take control of the canvas, she'll make everyone her puppet in her perfect show. It's better to preserve their dignity and let them in peace. Maybe Aline can repaint something close enough in a more stable canvas later, if Alicia really wants it.

but she has the opportunity to fix it!!!

She won't. It's been how many identical piano concerts? Verso is old, yet Lumiere looks frozen and destroyed, populated by a few people acting out of character and a few dozen cloned faceless figures. Alicia can't draw back Lumiere and won't bother, she wants to keep her perfect moment frozen over and over and over until Clea finds some time to come whoop her ass and burn the canvas anyway, she can'tr resist her, she isn't Aline.

If you argue for Verso because "muh fake chatgpt npc sims nigga" you need to be gassed.

VERSO IS RIGHT IT'S SO OBVIOUS
MAELLE IS FUCKING DELUSIONAL SHE'S LIVING IN A FANTASY LAND THAT'S IT
IT'S FUCKING UP HER MOM AND HER DAD, EVERYBODY ELSE
VERSO IS NOT EVEN REAL HE'S DEAD ANYWAY
IT'S JUST THE RIGHT DECISION TO CHOOSE VERSO

but no one can justify why she needs to do it in Verso's canvas instead of her own

Because she can't just simply recreate the people she spent 16 years living with. It wouldn't be the same chroma it would entirely just be her memories of them and what she knew about them. Eventually the new painting would become one on it's own but the initial creations she makes, the ones that make her want to stay in Verso's canvas would not be them.

girl named Alicia

goes into a land full of wonders

Oh, I see...

duuuude this chronically ill death-bed patient should just learn to use the morphine in like, moderation or something brooo

If they are sentient like you said, then you literally agree to giving the one who genocided a sentient race what he wanted. How is that any better? Don't they deserve salvation from the oblivion brought forth by Zeus over his family dispute with Hera and Athena?

the ones that make her want to stay in Verso's canvas

Verso and his soul? Because that's her self admitted reason to want to stay in his canvas.

Once you realize Maellefags are literal underaged b8 that haven’t passed a high school literature class, these dumb threads make a lot of sense. You unironically need a developed prefrontal cortex to understand Verso and Renoir, it seems.

It's not just Verso it's the people she grew up to love in lumiere too. And yes Verso and her connection to him is another part of it. Anything she made would be a crude imitation.

Quite literally the opposite is true, it seems.

The problems is that the people of luminiere are dead, the recreations of maelle are as much the original people as the family her mom painted. If their existence is what makes them real the new batch isn't because they aren't the ones who existed. Instead grieving for her friends she just makes copies in shits on their lifes to live a happy lie.

So you agree that the choice isn't only about her physical condition and OP is wrong to make this comparison

Or a good relationship with your family.
That helps too, your average normalfag can understand the game, its endings and why verso's ending feels kinda ok.

she'll make everyone her puppet in her perfect show

They clearly aren't in a perfect world nor are they puppets considering Gustave doesn't have his real arm and Lune doesn't have her parents back. Whatever is being put back, clearly there's some free will going on.

she grew up to love in lumiere too.

No, it's Verso and his soul and age admits as much.

Anything she made would be a crude imitation.

Like the people in her ending being a bunch of copypastes npcs all wearing the same clothes.

Instead grieving for her friends

Who killed those friends by the way?

But this is why we couldn't have the ending where Alicia leaves the painting and it's allowed to exist. There'd be nothing to talk about because that would be the definitive best ending. It's also probably what any of the painting natives would've pushed for if Verso wasn't a lying sack of shit.

It's another valid reason, there can be more than one you know. Versofags have pretend every single reason she has for wanting to stay doesn't exist to justify their choice.

deserve to exist for all their struggles

But at the expense of their creators?
Remember their creators are capable of creating hundreds and hundreds of worlds. All of those are worlds that would not exist in the future if they should die. So in the greater cosmological sense, keeping the creators healthy and happy is prioritized over the lives of the thousands in Lumiere.

your average normalfag

If you are agreeing with the same normalfags who threw popcorn all over the place over CHICKEN JOCKEY, that's not a good look at all.

perfect world

HER perfect world, it's really different.
Gustave can't have his arm because she's only ever seen him without it and Lune's parents were killed by nevrons so even if she tried she can't.
The only free will there is Alicia's.

If I throw out a stupid hyperbole, then maybe he'll concede

Will you thought wrong.

Renoir ultimately but in reality it was either her mom or the litfags. Lil versos soul who keeps it together is alrdy falling apart. And in her ending she starts to decay, too.

It’s because no one cares about old women lol

Maybe she shouldn't say

I just wanted to stay with you

to live this lifetime together

and her ending is just verso's show.

It is possible to paint over physical conditions, Alicia is literally doing it on herself.

Will you thought wrong

I win by default by way of opponent typo. You may now proceed to cope and seethe.

You are a fucking retard. These aren't remotely the same things. Maelle can always enter another canvas after she recovers from being in Verso's for as long as she has.

The point is not to obsess over something at the expense of your own or others' health or life. Antonia doesn't have the means of an escape she can use periodically like Maelle does.

Maelle leaving the canvas is the best option for her AND her family. She can always repaint whoever the fuck she wants to in another canvas. Inb4 some bullshit like "it wouldn't be the same people as they were in Verso's canvas" or some bullshit like that, it's clear by the end that Maelle doesn't even care about that sentiment. She only cares about how those people make her feel, as all she is trying to do is escape real life and the weight of the responsibility of Verso's death. Therefore leaving the canvas and moving on from his death will allow her to do what she wants to in that moment indefinitely as she lives out her natural lifespan. She is a fucking teenager for crying out loud. She will go through many trials and tribulations, change, growth, etc. Like Renoir tells her, it WILL get better, she just doesn't see it now because she's a goddamn child.

Where Verso is a massive faggot is that he's a selfish prick who only cared about his own freedom from existence without taking into consideration the wishes of any of the other painted people.

Verso put it best: "We're all hypocrites doing the same thing to each other." I hate his ass because of how he operates throughout the entire game, his selfishness and lies being apparent the whole time, but Maelle is only better than him for having the benefit of the doubt for being an immature child.

Maelle's ending is the correct one solely because Verso deserves to suffer. Now play the fucking piano, you lying faggot.

But this is why we couldn't have the ending where Alicia leaves the painting and it's allowed to exist.

We can blame Verso for fucking over Painted Alicia for this. Potentially getting Gustave killed as well, he would have advocated for moderation.

But at the expense of their creators?

You really shouldn't count potential life in this equation., I think. If you create life, you have the responsibility to keep it safe unless the situation is absolutely dire, which Renoir also agrees with.

Aline let painted Verso meet the the soul of the real Verso to end everything, Maelle lied to her father, what more do we need?

would have advocated for moderation.

You think Alicia cares when she got her father to accept her lie? Renoir and Verso are right, there's no moderation.

Verso let Gustave die, so therefore he deserves to suffer. Simple as.

Renoir

So she should just forgive the one who killed her friends and give them what he wants?

but in reality it was either her mom or the litfags

There was no need for the second genocide after Aline was thrown out, that's what Renoir thinks because he's a controlfag extremist but as clearly shown in Maelle's ending, The Paintress isn't back. One way or another, they got her mother to behave and stopped her from entering the Canvas again.

it's another valid reason

Yes, that's my entire point, jesus christ
The parallel doesn't work because her choice isn't just about not being a cripple anymore and it affects multiple people instead of just herself

But this is why we couldn't have the ending where Alicia leaves the painting and it's allowed to exist.

Because Aline would just go straight back in and all the nonsense would repeat itself. The painting has to be destroyed for Aline and Alicia to be able to not be like addicts. Do you think rehab centers have a big room full of drugs and alcohol in them?

I don't think gepetto and manus really were opposed.

Nah, the entire game events are a proxy war between Manus and Geppetto. Manus wants Sophia because she's the purest human and uses her power for the amplificator that sucks Ergo out of the city, Geppetto wants to use the same device to bring Carlo back to life, and he stole the hand of god, directly shitting on Manus' parade.

Geppetto's motivation is that P is incomplete, he has the soul of Carlo, but he doesn't have his memories. He only realizes P became complete in his last moment, once P sheds a tear.

Gustave is over-rated. You barely knew him, it's just that he was the first person you're presented with in the story so you emotionally attached to him like an autistic woman.

FUCK YOU! FUCK YOU! FUCK YOU! FUCK YOU!

You are completely fucking retarded

Gustave is over-rated

his voice actor is quite good and his in game movements are quite good. it makes it easy to like him.

Yeah, except you're forgetting one tiny unimportant detail, that being the only remaining piece of the real Verso's soul is left in that canvas, which will promptly be destroyed if you go with the reality ending.
So no, that canvas isn't just "easily replaceable", it's literally the only genuine piece of her brother left in the world.

He invented the Lumina converter is what he did. He was a brave Lumièrian Expeditioner!

And this house, Gustave is a hero. End of story!

gustave is literally me

Both sides agree the soul is real

Preventing Verso's soul from moving on is a demonic act and the fact that painters can do this is hugely suspect

He didn't save some literal who he never ever met or had a single reason to give a fuck about, literally worse than hitler!

it's literally the only genuine piece of her brother left in the world.

And she wants to use it to kill herself.

Just because Verso plays the piano in the Maelle ending doesn't mean he's playing the piano 24/7. It'll be 1-2 hours at most per day. The other 15 hours with Maelle he'll have to endure:

Hand holding

Sight seeing

Shopping

Poetry

Ice Skating

Tea parties

Picnics

Face sitting

Merry go rounds

Dancing, Singing, etc

It's no wonderland, but it ain't Hell either

8642366234.jpg - 851x526, 110.81K

This nigga is the same to P as Simon was to Verso if you think about it.

Maelle can always enter another canvas

So you are suggesting she should just take the cure at a later time and suffer in the meantime? LMAO.

She can always repaint whoever the fuck she wants to in another canvas

Not the same chroma not the same people. You called it yourself beforehand because you know you are wrong.

it's clear by the end that Maelle doesn't even care about that sentiment.

Is that why she brought back Sciel husband?

it WILL get better

Is Renoir planning to repaint her irl or something? Because if he can't do that then it's the same as Polendina telling Antonia to bear with the pain for longer because it will get better.

Real insightful post, anon. Definitely makes me think better of verso choosers.

Just fucking move on, Maelle. I don't care if you were burnt alive; people also have their issues. Put some gel on it, and it will pass. And, if things get bad, you can always try drugs, hookers, or booze.

advocated for moderation

I don't even know about that. He probably would've argued for Maelle to leave as strongly as Renoir did. Being with her and protecting her was his highest priority the entire time he was on the continent. He wouldn't accept the destruction of his own world outright, but I could see him considering siding with Renoir if he knows it's to protect Maelle. I have no idea what that ending would've looked like, but it would've been more impactful with a conflicted, invested, and likeable character pulling the world ending trigger solely for the sake of someone else rather than Verso who was probably faking his concern for Alicia at the end anyway.

This game reminded me of how much I hate my sister.

We know they are all massive faggots despite og verso and he isn't really in the game.
Mom locked herself in her dead sons room to play with his toys instead tending to her family. Dad is so stupid that his solution is to burn that room, the last what's left of his son. Big sis regulary placed monsters in it to fuck with her little brother and lil sis makes the same stupid shit as mom further tearing bros soul apart. Honestly I'm kinda with the litfags here, they all seem horrible people but the one they actually killed.

Because Aline would just go straight back in and all the nonsense would repeat itself.

Where's Aline in Maelle's ending?

Put down the crack pipe

E33 is interesting. I absolutely love both halves of the game, they both are completely different stories. I love Verso, I love his family drama, the canvas and painting concepts are amazing, it's a great twist.
But at the end of it all, I still longed for Gustave and that adventure more. My heart was with the Expedition 33 crew setting out to defeat the paintress. The opening of the game set such a perfect, nearly unprecedented tone in a video game, even making me cry with Sophie's gommage. I wished I could return to that half and adventure after I finished the game. I really love Verso and his half but nothing compared to the feeling of wondrous exploration in the dreary setting that was given to us with Gustaves half.
