Will Expedition 33 success make people want to learn French like Anime and JRPGs did for Japanese in the 00s?

French is a useless language. So no.

Did anyone even play it in the French language

Why are French like this?

I am already incorporating gommage into my vocabulary, it's a good word

all it made me do was pirate Fantasian NEO Dimension as soon as I woke up this morning

It made me hate the french even more.

Paris syndrome (パリ症候群, Pari shōkōgun) is a sense of extreme disappointment exhibited by some individuals when visiting Paris, who feel that the city does not live up to their expectations. The condition is commonly viewed as a severe form of culture shock.[1] The cluster of psychiatric symptoms has been particularly noted among Japanese tourists, perhaps due to the way in which Paris has been idealised in Japanese culture.

The syndrome is characterized by symptoms such as acute delusional states, hallucinations, feelings of persecution (perceptions of being a victim of prejudice, aggression, hostility from others),[2][irrelevant citation] derealization, depersonalization, anxiety, as well as psychosomatic manifestations such as dizziness, tachycardia, sweating most notably, but also others, such as vomiting.[3]

most of us already learned french in elementary school

get a grip

I spent like 5 years taking French as a subject in school and I never learned how to properly speak it. Why cant teachers teach languages in school properly?

the shilling was too obvious and i hate the writing so no

lol

So nothing then? It's more useful to learn japanese. Why even learn French when you already know English?

So true
All lawyers should learn latin and all doctors should learn greek

It's such a hit they started to retroactively teach it in most schools of the first world for centuries.

Our words now. Get cucked, frenchies.

french sounds disgusting

i've seen better bait than that

they were too niche in french, stuck to cliches. English strengthens these words, and gives them that jenesequa that people love so much. French in origin, but owned by whites

i already have a 370 day streak in french duolingo

your game "sold" 3 million. how many million Japanese games sold in total again?

why do i barely have any weapons for monoco and the others have like 10+

Why would I learn a subsaharan language?

Im gonna go with no because my friend who speaks french natively said the french in game was absolute dogshit

You forgot to mention you need to be some sheltered japanese roastie to suffer from it

I took Spanish for 4 years and can understand most of it when a customer is talking to me. I'll usually use google translate to respond though, I'm just not confident enough to go back and forth.

I looked through my Steam library (1900+ games) to see what other notable French games I own, and sadly it's not much. Any good recs?

I know there's also the Plague series, might get them someday. And Wakfu/Dofus which are based but MMO's sadly.

People learn Japanese so they can watch anime without subtitles and eventually go to Japan to find a big titty anime gf. Nobody wants to go to France or watch french media.

It's like japanese. It's easier to read and listen but actualy conversational dialog you just chalk up and can barely speak short phrases.
Hell I'm an ESL and I can't say I can confidently speak english irl compared to writing and reading and I've learned this language all my life since it's basic education in our country.

No because nobody actually cares about this game and it's all astroturfing and shilling.

people still think this is some indie studio

French is a very weird language. Like it's the more complex of the Romance languages and the most influenced by Gallic influences. While most other Romance languages have a very limited vowel system French is like fuck it we have 13 or 19 or whatever. As a Spanish speaker myself I had a hard time learning French at school because I saw words written down that I kinda knew what they meant but the pronunciation is completely different. In a way feels kinda English at first but unlike English, French does have pronunciation rules like the other Romance languages it's just there's much more of them and as a Spanish speaker my phonemic repertoire is smaller than French as it is so I had to learn new sounds.

people speaking the perfid Albion's tongue will never understand the true greatness of Naheulbeuk

Truly grim
Also not including more of Spider AA peak eurojank is a crime

i've had a passing interest in french for some time now but hearing all these english loanwords from the french dub is tilting me like mad lol. "jealous" especially, where tf did the other letters go

> people speaking the perfid Albion's tongue will never understand the true greatness of Naheulbeuk

Are there really that many puns in the OG French script?

It's not about the game
It's all about the source material

PUTAIN

I have learned all the French I will ever need to know already from this game.

The unpleasantness of a Japanese voice makes me want to do the opposite

Steel Rising is a solid b-tier Soulslike. Not as good as LotF2.0, but probably on par with the Surge, LotF 2014 etc.

Ass Creed Unity was broken as fuck on launch, but after patches is one of the better ACs of the last decade if you're still into AC after Shadows.

Evoland is ok.

Steel Rising

Oh yeah that one's on my wishlist, it seems like a lower budget Lies of P, but I guess the French aesthetic could be kino.

It's just an odd angle.

No it's not, she looks like a fucking child you pedo baguette

Yeah, she's 16, her looking like a kid is kind of the point
