So

So
Does anyone actually read video game novels like Halo, Gears or The Witcher? I think I'd rather read Xianxia Cultivation at that point.

I love how the common depiction of "creativity" and "imagination" is the most boring and uninteresting imagery ever

Read that one uncharted novel ages ago. Was mediocre at best but not exactly bad. I don't think those are meant to be good. Just something extra.
Anyway if they keep making those then there's market for it which means that people are reading those

Conveniently it's all stuff we already saw on TV. Guess creativity people can't create much anyway.

needs books to imagine things

grim

medieval dinosaur sci-fi witches in space

Yeah that kid's retarded.

A dinosaur attacking a space castle is pretty interesting, i've never seen it before

books are great, games are great, tv shows are great, music is great, and movies are great. Saying all tv is bad is the same thing as equating reddit comments to Anon Babble comments, not everything is of equal quality and there is slop in every medium.

I read some of the halo novels, they were alright

I am also reading cultivation fiction though

thing that you've seen before fights another thing that you've seen before

WAAAAOW SO CREATIVE THANK GOD I READ BOOKS INSTEAD OF WATCHING TV SO I CAN HAVE A BIG CREATIVE BRAIN

are bookcopers some of the dumbest most pathetic consoomers around?

I used to have the Doom novels back in the day. They got extremely fucking retarded real fucking quick to the point I couldn't even finish them
Basically in the books the demons aren't demons. They're actually biological weapons created by some race of aliens called the Freddies. Turns out the Freddies fear the human race because humans are the only species in the entire galaxy. Every other race just gets sent to some theater or something where they spectate the galaxy or some shit until they're reborn. So basically the "demons" are just artificial organisms created by the Freddies to drive mankind to extinction. Also in the book all it takes to kill an archvile apparently is hosing it down with a fire extinguisher.

saar you should very read self-help novels like me and get verry verrry rich from learnted grifting

i think hes just reading dune

I don’t think the Witcher books really count. I read the last wish before the first game even was announced

Humans are the only species in the galaxy who can die I mean, fuck

eslbro read an english book please

Fanfics for me
It's a comfy existence

retardkino

you are beyond self help

VGH POWERFVLL

the Freddies

kek

There's nothing new under the sun, creativity can only ever be combining things you've seen before. Being educated deepens the pool of things you can draw influence from, so that whatever you create is not laughably obviously derivative.

i read some of the gears ones and can honestly say i barely remember shit about them aside from the fact they went to some island and spoke to some gears russians there

I can't read

Please provide an example of a interesting scenario.

Not quite the same thing but I have seen dinosaurs vs aliens once before in futurama

video game novels like The Witcher

Not a bad bait. Not at all.

It gets worse
They encounter a new race of aliens towards the end of the series that are called the Newbies that become the main antagonists which are a species of aliens that evolve at a rapid rate until they evolve into a microscopic organism that can take over people's brains but only if the person doesn't have faith in anything because if the person starts having faith in something that apparently kills the Newbie host. How do they defeat the Newbies? They do some retarded shit involving a computer simulation that forces the Newbies to evolve so much they literally cease to exist. How does ceasing to exist fit into evolution? Who the fuck knows, the retard who wrote the books probably ate a lot of paint chips and sniffed a lot of glue when he was a child

Video games are and always will be my passion, but I still wish I had the patience to read books again.
Unlike video games, books force you to use your imagination and build out the scenarios in your head. I used to read a lot of books.

It's symbolic you literal autist.

I cant read books because I get too distracted by my own imagination. Like, I will read something and start manifesting it in my mind and how it will look and suddenly Im two pages forward without absorbing a single word.

Not gonna lie, i did.
I especially liked Brigador's audiobooks.
The combat is just to fucking Brutal to the point that the Corvid ambush and Bader burning alive and somehow still being able to fight for a little longer still live rent free on my head, Ed is probably one of my favorite musclewomen out there without me wanting to fuck her after her going on a rampage, Kroenig was awesome as hell, Ranulph went from little bitch to combat veteran in a single night, and Armbruster was weirdly awesome in his own way like a guy on a dead end office job suddenly going postal and being the happiest and free he has ever being his whole life.
I really, really need to check out the new book before Brigador Killers is out.
Id just wish that they would use more the robotic filter for the narrator in the book that they used at the end of some of the bonus songs.
It sounds way to fucking cool.

"ALL CALLSINGS: KILL THE TRAITOR".

We found this species that... "dies" when they are killed

H-holy fuck... better make sure they do, what if it's infectious

I understand reading stuff like Gears of War and Halo novels, there's plenty of interesting things in those universes to write books about.
But who the fuck wants to read all 400 pages of the Rage novel?

No shit Sherlock, the metaphor is still shit

Women watch more tv than men. Maybe they read more too, but if you’re drawing a tv without a game console attached, it should be a woman in front of it.

My man.
I'll eventually read it again because my memories are getting fuzzy
That or fallout equestria

I rather read xanxia cultivation. There probably are some vidya novels that aren't shit but at that point you want to read something really bad. Something you can skimread at 200 pages an hour and let your brain fix the story. Chinkshit is perfect for this.
And yo, the people recommending to read a book and make pics like ops are usually the ones that don't read at all. If they'd do they knew it's the most sloppy novel.

I read Warhammer 40k books that get 4.0 or more on goodreads so that you know they're good.

Happens with games and shows too. Can skip five minutes making up a different story path and then I have to go back

the first halo book fall of reach was kino. It was released before halo 1 and had a lot of creativity instead of trying to copy the games. Every other halo book I've tried reading was awful though.

I was like that like 10 years ago and trained myself into having an attention span again. It sounds like you aren't as bad as me if you are still imagining in a lot of detail. Try listening to audiobooks, playing a visual novel, or reading out loud. Those helped me regain focus when reading since they occupy you in multiple ways mentally.

Doom guy actually picking up and using the zombie rifles is the only retcon that made sense in these things.

TV bad

I don't believe for a second that the artist never got distracted by his own thoughts trying to re enact the same scene or change the plot

Reading vidya books

kind of?
StarCraft and Warcraft used to be decent, from what I've heard Metro books are also decent
