Diddy didn't have the Nintendo logo in DKC1 artwork, it was added in DKC2 to match Dixie's Rare logo. But when Dixie lost her Rare logo, Diddy's Nintendo logo remained.

The tie is definitely that. Keep in mind that upside down L means Waluigi. Nintendo has already been historically retarded trying to desperately match logos like this.

The Mario movie also replaced the Nintendo logo with the DD pin and gave Dixie a "DX" pin on her hat, so we'll probably see that for Dixie's redesign too.

It's more likely that these changes were already planned beforehand (i.e. for however long Bananza has been in development), and ended up influencing the movie design in certain ways during its production.

Also, the monoeye is typically just a stylistic choice, not something you're supposed to take literally. Like how Iizuka said that Sonic (and other characters in his series with the "monoeye") does actually have two separate eyeballs, they just look like they're connected

It's really sad that this actually has to be explained to people. Do they think Sonic's feet literally turn into cartoon wheels when he's running fast too?

It's not about realism, Miyamoto just wanted them to look like classic anthropomorphic anime characters rather than western styled 90s cool animals like Rare's design. This is why their eyes are vertical ovals and why they separated Diddy's eyes.

So then why weren't those changes made to Peach's actual model in that game (and not just the western cover art), and kept in following games like MK World?
If the movie was the main push for these changes, it would have effected more characters than just DK and Diddy. On that note, why has Cranky been kept pretty much the same in Bananza as he's always looked? He looked different in the movie too.
