FFIV DS.
Admit it. You liked it.

I did until I got to the dwarf area super under leveled and couldn't go back.
I want to like it but the mobile UI on PC fucking pisses me off with how bad it looks.
Yes. It's the best iteration of that game I played.
it's great and most importantly actually challenging compared to the rest of the franchise. It lets you customize your characters with the augment system though I do not like having to feed augments to get augments.
I like Rydia
Indeed, the extra challenge absolutely adds to the experience.
The Rydia minigames, not so much.
What was her minigame?
I remember Kains was kinda fun.
Math iirc
FLAT
I did. IV was my first video game. I've played every version. When someone asks me which is the best I answer DS and DO NOT TOUCH AFTER YEARS WITH A 10 FOOT POLE.
Too late I touched it.
DO NOT TOUCH AFTER YEARS WITH A 10 FOOT POLE.
I'm playing the original IV for the first time, is the sequel that bad?
One of the best FF titles and the definitive version of FF4. I put around 200 hours into it going into the final NG cycle with all stats maxed via augments. I was in highschool tho and won't do it again.
I appreciate the effort that went into it. Character designs look nice and they put a lot of effort into camera angles and presentation. But I just like the original better. DS looks really washed out (could just be the DS screen) and I don't appreciate all the aesthetic changes (the new tower of zot graphics, for example). Original is just more vibrant and faster paced.
i really gotta get around to playing it. FFIII, FFVII, and FFX are the only mainline FFs i've played (have played a shitload of spinoff titles, tho). recently started FFVI and am going through that, dropped FFXV so early and so long ago i can't even reliably say anything about it and will have to get back to playing it again to make a real comment.
They couldn't be bothered to animate Cecil holding a bow, so they just made a new bunch of nonmetal swords for the part with the dark elf
This version was the first single player FF I played, but since I emulated it, I installed a hack for the Japanese dub. Quality is still not good, but it didn't bother me at least once I switched.
I think I like the original more.
But then I go and play the original and feel like pleb for how easy it is. It's a cycle.
9/10 times, the remake just completely whiffs the presentation of a scene
The remaining 1/10, you get absolute kino, like Rydia verbally destroying Edward
The game doesn't start until Cecil becomes a paladin. Before then it is just a tutorial. It still isn't "hard", but normal enemies hit way harder than other games in the series and the super bosses are harder, too, because there's no way to cheese any of them.
Its horrible anon
III DS was better
oh right LMAO
at least she's hot
I like how strong the final boss is now, to the point that in the second phase where he spams meteor I had to play with only Cecil and Kain.
You would swear that it's fanfiction written by new staff members, but then you looks shit up and find out it was somehow the original writers who made it and nothing in the world makes sense anymore.
Yang literally kicking the entire party out of the cannon room will forever be gold.
Come...I will heal your wounds...
Face me at full strength!
Well his kicks having AoE is a thing
I think I expected too much out of it compared to FFIII 3D. My biggest complaint was that it still felt held back by the DS hardware. I was hoping that if they ever did FF5 it would be on the 3DS, and thus hopefully not be bound to the same limitations of only a few enemies on screen and certain effects not being as flashy compared to the SNES and PSP versions. Ultimately today I tell people to get the Pixel Remaster, simply because it doesn't have The After Years lmao
Was I supposed to hate it? I played the shit out of IVDS back in middle school and loved every second of it.
I'd fuck both versions of Rydia btw
That battle ended up much easier than it should have been.
Certainly it helps that you know how they work already, but still.
Playmobil Final Fantasy
I didn't even play it
Implying that I'm ashamed of liking it or something
Yes, I like it
I like Final Fantasy and the DS version of IV is the best version
Rydia's a 10/10 design regardless of version though
I liked everything but the visuals. Why they decided on ugly 3D instead of retouched sprites I'll never understand.
Let me show you
HOW WRONG YOU ARE
I didn't play it, but I've heard it's good. But maybe not a great way to first play IV due to it's system.
But maybe not a great way to first play IV due to it's system.
dude what?
Guys, how long did it take you to realize you should've been casting slow, like, all the time?
Only time I did that was against the Demon Wall, but only because the original Nintendo Power guides said to do that.
i played FFX first, so realizing that haste and slow literally breaks the game by letting you take more game actions than your opponents' really helped me understand the ATB games when i went to them later.
was my first ff, filtered child me until i came back years later
always wanted to play a game that basically was that ff4 opening cinematic
played through 16 recently, lo and behold
I don't know what it's called, but there's a system of bonus trinkets or abilities or some shit, right?
To my understanding the way to get the most out of that system involves giving shit to characters that are about to leave the party for one reason or another so you get a better item or whatever back later
IV doesn't have the most serious plot but I think part of the fun I had would have been hampered by either knowing that ahead of time or basically getting nothing out of an added system.
Is that supposed to be a hot take or something? FFIV DS was well received and often praised even now.
I realized around the second fiend, and felt like a total dumbass for not understanding that sooner.
You actually want to cast slow on bosses twice, it stacks.
Sucks because it's missing essential features that were standard in the genre a decade before its release.
such as?
Cursor memory and text speed.
Sex with Rosa
Get off of Anon Babble, Kain
It's great and way better than pixelshit
That generally happens in hardtype SNES too.
hardtype
Retard.
Pretty sure after Demon Wall I realized you could do it against anything.
I remember when the kids stoned themselves and thinking it was weird Esuna didn't work. Why not stone each other?
Fuck your "admit it", it's just a plain pretty good version of FFIV, so i did enjoyed it.
