How is this surprising to anybody? Oblivion remastered is just Oblivion with a UE5 veneer. Skyrim is still infinitely better.

If you want a more complex RPG you can play Morrowind, if you want a casualized console action game you can play Skyrim. Oblivion is a pointless and shitty middle ground.

1) This is almost certainly because the author lacks the critical thinking capacity to realize that most of the Oblivion Remastered players are on GamePass so they don't show up in the steam metrics.

2) Oblivion is a good game. But Skyrim is simply a better version of Oblivion and everyone except nostalgia-fags knows it.

I mean...... it did peak at 150k players on steam which is pretty decent for a remaster i'd think. looking at it now it's fallen a lot sure but it's still neck and neck with Skyrim at least atm. And with that being 25-30k each they are still comfortably in the top 50 Steam games.

magic in Oblivion was fucking ass, bro. it functioned as a Grenade button, it wasn't even something you could actually equip as a primary armament, and you could only ever "throw" one "grenade" at a time. in Skyrim, i can equip a Ward in one hand and a Blasting spell in the other and PLAY a mage. the closest you can get to that in Oblivion requires you equip an enchanted staff in your weapon slot and carry a bunch of Soul Gems around with you to recharge it.

Honestly it randomly pops up on my feed so I can't really tell but I think it looks fine? It's out of early access in a few hours and from the look of it the combat seems better since you can get unique items that give unique effects so you can make a build around that item. All of the playstyles of TES games are in. The only bad thing I can see is that this is eurojank.
