Morrowind

I JUST WANTED SOME GODDAMNED SLEEP

morrowind.png - 187x319, 66.94K

I recently ugraded from the OpenMW version from 2017 and these quality of life changes are amazing

Mod your game like a reasonable bethesda gamer

Kind of funny you can use openmw to play morrowind on android

has a single person ever made a character with this sign

I desperately want to play OpenMW on my retroid 4 pro but it's been hell getting it to work, and even more difficult to just get it to work with the buttons.
There's some jank github project to make the menus controller compatible for steam decks or something but I never got THAT to work, and the latest OpenMW for android build is too old for it.

Even if I could somehow make the controls work flawlessly and fix the UI and all of that, I tried just coping and playing for as long as I could with touch screen menus (ew) and it crashes absolutely fucking constantly.

I am absolutely convinced everyone who claims OpenMW can actually run on android have only seen the videos of it or tried it only for long enough to prove it works, because actually PLAYING IT like that LONG TERM is fucking miserable and buggy and crashy and awful

the game works fine on steam deck for me, just use the most popular configuration

I don't have a fucking steamdeck you illiterate faggot I have a retroid

no and you know that

it's finally happening arenabros

People talk a lot about early game assassins but the worst part comes later in the game
God i fucking hate jinkblades

I am absolutely convinced everyone who claims OpenMW can actually run on android have only seen the videos of it or tried it only for long enough to prove it works,

Speaking for myself, you are right. I tried it to see if it works, but didn't play past Seyda Neen. Not a fan of the controls and didn't feel like setting up some mods for it

I used to play it on my phone while riding the bus back and forth to work like 6 years ago
skill issue

Disable the plug-in and then enable it when you want to do the DLC.

the problem with the early game assassins isn't their difficulty it's that their gear sells for so much fucking money you can instantly break the game

calm down, I just thought you meant you couldn't get it to work on a steam deck and that's why you're using a retroid

My first character

I thought the detect key would be really useful

*crack*

*tssst*

*sip*

Ah arena, now that was a concept of a game

The short bus

Nope but I only ever pick the Atronach.

What was the last thing you did in game? GO

im debating waiting for the full release of 0.49 or if i should just download the RC version. can someone using it tell me if its worth going through the hassle of updating or if i should just wait?

enabling the expansions

willingly spending precious time on earth playing bad version of ultima underworld stygian abyss

what causes someone to become like this

so is the DB just delayed by default in openMW? I remember using extra mod for that and Solthsteim rummor as well

ive been attacked the first time i sleep in openmw

No. Although stopping the attacks is as easy as going to Ebonheart and talking with the guy in adamantium armor

Is the 'Cutting Room Floor' mod any good? I know a lot of the time with these "restoring cut content" mods, they restore garbage that was cut for good reason, or add the modder's shitty implementation of an off-hand comment from a 25 year old developer interview.

Or you can install expansion delay mod which handles it elegantly and also fixes the solstheim rumor issue

Is it from Arthmoor? Then it's shit

Told the innkeeper about a dead body I found while burglarizing his establishment.

violent disgusting poorly pantomimed sex with my loli harem

mwkids1.jpg - 520x390, 46.62K

It installs to a new folder, if you don't like it you can just switch back.

Ran/swam to Ald Redayna to get thay 70 luck and 20 endurance on my new character. It was hell, as I'm using a difficulty mod and the character gets one shotted by racers

absolutely garish face mods

GROSS
what mod?

children of morrowind, google it

it's a nearly 2 decade old mod cut it some slack

Lil emo nigga looking zesty

not using MWSE

"I don't want to crash every hour"

installing pre-defined mods list

no delayed assassin mod/lore accurate improvements/etc.

you only vanilla purists

EDIT: Thanks for the gold, kind stranger!

Sorry but I'm required to play as an Argonian for my first playthrough please understand.

just fucking leave nobody likes you and your presence is unwanted

like legitimately I'm sorry your friends all abandoned you for being too weird but this ain't it, this isn't your new tribe

I deposed the queen of Anvil and got some nice gear and a sweet house out of it.

What should I do with Almalexia's soul

these quality of life changes are amazing

What changed? I'm a bit worried of upgrading and fucking up my save

t. had his boots ruined

something i really hate about this game is how it's basically choose your own difficulty
mages always stomp the game not only in combat but also with the sheer amount of utility you get
early mysticism telekinesis is equivalent to max level thievery
early bound armor is better than everything until ebony and glass, something you're not getting for a while without prior knowledge
bound weapons are on par with daedric, maybe even better due to how easy it is on your fatigue and only good enchants edge it out because the bound ones come preinstalled with +10% hit chance
mysticism and alteration are more fun methods of transportation than actual in game travel with the interventions, the recall and high level jumps across the map
alteration just eviscerates the need for any security whatsoever
illusion btfoes two skills at once, sneak and speechcraft
any difficulty you have in the game is to your own choice because you can go make a 1 cost training spell and spam that shit until you completely overwhelm it with magic

I see no problem with this as it's a single player game and you don't need magic to progress

magic is easy mode in games like this and there's nothing you can do design-wise to change it

it's one thing for it to be easy and another to implicitly say if you're not starting with breton/high elf atronach you're a stupid nigger that has the insurmountable amount of autism to larp over the monumental disadvantage you'll be getting

Sounds like OCD autism

well at least non-regenerating mana balances this out a bit, I guess?

I'm sorry but I can't fix the game for you, have you tried mods?

non regenerating mana

you make a cheap trinket that summons a ghost for 5 seconds
then you get the summon hunger spell and make two custom 10 and 12 second duration ones, aggro one and let them spitroast you until full magicka
it's more lore friendly than sleeping for days

Is Invisibility the only truly useless spell?

Alchemy is incredibly broken as well

It's not useless. Swift swim is useless compared to a regular fortify speed spell

fuck the lore give me mana

killed hircine, then used my recall / divine intervention network to sell shit, killed a few cats and geckos along the way

you get mana, a lot of it
the hungers will empty their magicka in those 10 seconds they're summoned and aggroed for and they don't have damaging spells, it's completely risk free

give me your modlist you mongrel bastard

fortify speed

expensive as shit, just use water walking and jump

The intent is so you have multiple ways to approach a situation. You also don't need magicka for any of them

You're not wrong, bro. Picking anything other than Bretons or Altmer with Atronach feels like you're intentionally playing on "gimped roleplay hard mode." You get less survivability, less utility, and basically none of the game-breaking fun that makes Morrowind such a wild ride. Meanwhile, Chad Atronach enjoys infinite magicka loops by level 5 with a summon exploit and a soultrap spell hotkeyed. You didn’t make a character—you made a walking nuke.

The thing is, swift swim is even more expensive. It's the moste useless spell in the game. Invisibility has It's uses. Especially if you find it on a scroll on a non-magw character

Go to any shrine and pick the restore attribute option. Boom, full mana.

he doesn't use a shitton of overhaul mods

fucking faggots holy shit

Disrupted a strike and framed a khajiit for pay fraud.

You can also play the game on the lowest difficulty and TGM enabled. It's a single player game. You make your own story. Optimizing is not something you have to do, even though some people feel a strong need for it (I suspect this is either autism, ocd or some cultural aspect of being a zoomer)

BITCH YOU KNOW WHAT I FUCKING MEAN STOP BEING CUTE AND GIVE ME MANA

Mana doesn't exist in any TES game

It's a good mod. The author is one of the people involved with TR as well.

BITCH YOU KNOW WHAT I FUCKING MEAN STOP BEING CUTE AND GIVE ME MANA

Morrowind is the white man's Elder Scrolls.

Explain the scroll of manarape then.

What an awful fucking thread

make a better one then

It's when you rape a man

Let's discuss House Dress slavery policy

it's a scroll that summons an Ape from the land of Manar

I like to free every freakin slave I see on every playthrough

Who do you picture

A faithful servant of the Nine

better than another watered down copy of a copy

magic should be overpowered.

Oh? He's finally adding enemies into the game?

he posts in every morrowind thread while contributing nothing

A faithful servant of the Nine would be either half-heartedly and begrudgingly taking action against slavery or secretly partaking in it themselves like EEC in Caldera, abolitionism amongst non-beast races is just cosmopolitan bleeding heart shit

Started a breton nightblade on max difficulty and now I'm figuring out how to steal the nerano manor key from sovor trandel.

calm also helps with pickpocketing

You can bribe him for the key with high enough disposition. I think it's the only time a specific option in the persuasion menu is the solution.

You need to kill that guy and his Camonna Tong butt budies in the Council Club for a quest later anyway, just get it out of the way now.

I have close to 20 hours in a character using the RC version and haven't had a single crash, it's very stable

i wonder how close we are to full release now. its gotta be around the corner, right? a couple months i'd assume?

Use the RC, it works fine, plus most OpenMW lua mods are 0.49 exclusive.

a new dev build was just released

Use the RC, it works perfectly fine and to the OpenMW peoples credit they're good at not breaking shit, plus most OpenMW lua mods are 0.49 exclusive.

Will moving to that break my mods and what even is in the new one

if you're not starting with breton/high elf atronach you're a stupid nigger that has the insurmountable amount of autism

I so glad I have role play autism and not "I must play the game 100% optimally at all times autism"

I have a amazon fire HD10 that I "cracked" and installed a new OS on and it works perfectly. You're insane if you're not using a bluetooth keyboard and mouse though, I cannot imagine trying to use a touchscreen to play MW. I basically just use it as a more portable laptop when I'm away from home or on a plane.

It so be like that

Got lost in Tel Vos and then decided fuck this and went to Sadrith Mora. By the Three, I hate T*lvanni dogs.

Picked up one of the final TG quests which requires me to kill people so my smooth-talking sneaky Imperial man is having a quandary because not only does he not want to kill people, but he isn't any good at it. I think he's killed maybe 2 humanoids and both were because they backed him into a corner and gave him no choice. Now he's being sent on an assassination mission and having second thoughts.

Should have just sold the damn bitter cup instead of using it as a stupid bargaining tool.

Had an Orc rise through the Mages Guild purely through Alchemy and he just caved Trebonius skull in with his Orcish Battle Axe

based orc chad

orc pepe.png - 450x483, 209.49K

Isn't it interesting how the only Velothi village left in all of Vvardenfell is Vos?

nu-TG being strictly no murder is lame and only done to differentiate the faction from DB

I just joined the dark brotherhood after killing a guard in bruma and having the thieves guild pay off my bounty. I love talking to every member of the guild about contracts, the argonian guy let me know that I can climb in the front of the pirate ship in anvil to get access to my target easily although I may still hide in a shipping crate for fun.

I have a hard time playing anything other than a dunmer but it really bothers me everyone automatically knows I'm an outlander and other dunmer, specifically camonna tong, despise their kinsmen that come back home

Do attributes raised buy potions count towards faction requirements?

Makes sense to me. White americans who go "well achskually I'm 1/32th Irish/Italian/Dutch" aren't welcome with open arms in Europe simply because they're white.

You might be a Dunmer but you're still a retarded foreigner who probably worships the Divines and licks Imperial boot.

bruma

This is a Morrowind thread, nigga, but yeah Oblivion DB is considered by some the best quest line of the series. For me, it was the Orc. He was a true based retard, and hilarious.

Maybe he's from the future and is playing PC's Bruma expansion

The orc is cool and I think his VA in the remaster is fine, even if he's not quite as good as the original. Ocheeva is still my fav although i have a thing for argonian girls.

that was only the case in oblivion, you kill tons of people in skyrim

Yeah, Morrowind's TG was a partially state-sponsored crime syndicate waging a gang war against the local xenophobic crime syndicate and Skyrim's was basically just the mafia, Oblivion was the only time they were gay Robin Hood wannabes with a no-kill rule

hassle of updating

there isn't really any hassle in updating OpenMW, though you might have to update some lua mods if you had any for 0.48
The RC version is fine, you can use it and then update to the full version when it releases

It's kinda wierd how the stealth archetypes got 2 guilds in both Oblivion and Skyrim

Robbed some temple full of talking dremora, ghosts, ogres, and decorated my new house in tes3mp, the last tenant died of a sudden ailment

file.png - 1920x1080, 2.22M

openmw

ngmi

Skyrims was the mafia until it became a Daedric cult. Really shitty turn of events tbf. Also, it was painfully obvious that the purple eyed dark elf was someone's OC donut steel character from som pnp rpg

Morrowind had a designated Assasin Guild too nigger

Yeah, and a designated stealth house nigga. But in oblivion we got four guilds and it was the same in Skyrim. 50% of them were dedicated stealth guilds

Call someone a faggot until they punch you then legally stab them to death in full view of 10 people

Morag Tong is about as far from stealth as you could get.

Morag Tong is legally chartered and doesn't not have to rely on stealth

I hate using magic, so this works in my favor anyway. My parents raised me to be a sword-and-shield style warrior.

You don't even have to call him a faggot. You can just show the cops your legal permission to kill him

there's literally no reason to use MGE instead of OMW

Morag Tong was so based.

pr.jpg - 570x570, 45.89K

Technically yeah but they ask for stealth skill for advancements and for some reason their base is hidden as fuck

its honestly not even that bad. the turn undead thing are spells, not once a day powers. so you effectively win every single 1v1 vs undead forever. Thye are also very very cheap, so even non magic people can make use of them. not a bad power for an anti undead holy warrior roleplayer.

Unironically, whenever you make a stealth character, don't you go both thief and assassin guild?

Why would I support imperial n'wahs? It's truly a shame you can't join the Camonna Tong

there definitely are reasons to, and I say that as an OpenMW user
plenty of MWSE mods still can't be recreated in OpenMW, and even excluding those it's still inconvenient for long-time MGE XE users to switch over when the MWSE modding scene is already so massive and well-established
Though OpenMW also has tons of unique features and the reasons not to use it are shrinking steadily

Anon, you can buy the very same cheap spell you get with the sign.

Any sign that had one a day powers should have also buffed attributes by a small amount. The powers are either not that good from the start or fall off mid game and ultimately aren't as useful as attribute buffs.

What do the numbers in calm/frenzy etc spells actually do, determine the enemy level it'll work on?

At least it's not the Lord.

t. currently playing a character with the lord

Went to Necrom to get a book for the mages guild. I thought the older areas were actually quite nice but Necrom itself seriously needs a re-work. I get it's the city of the dead, but in terms of population I've seen busier graveyards.
I've also been training blunt weapon at the mages guild so I can actually use my staff.
Also, the dickhead guildmaster of Almas Thirr wants me to go all the way to Firewatch for a soul gem. This man has no respect for my time or safety, considering he also got a trainee mage to fight a super dangerous ashlands monster for its soul earlier.

Anon is so flammable!

I've also been training blunt weapon at the mages guild so I can actually use my staff.

I meant fighters guild. Oh, a crazy bitch wants me to casually chat to some killer vampires. That's going to be fun.

Oh, a crazy bitch wants me to casually chat to some killer vampires. That's going to be fun.

That was a fun mission
Unironically way more fun if you have a mod that disables the pause during dialogue

which vampire clan in TR has the amulet

getting serious rerollitis for a character that is not far off fron my current one

check the release notes

TES4 format quest record script variable subrecords are ignored: this allows esmtool to parse Fallout 3 DLC ESMs

For what purpose?

I believe there is one that allows you to talk to regular people again

Went diving for ancient boat wreckage at the behest of some cat in the basement of an Imperial Fort. I was paying Rowdy Rilmas' bail.
Didn't find any boats, but I found this neat book

I LOVE MEOWORIND

CLE-3-Blog-8.jpg - 750x422, 41.48K

I used to think so as a kid, but no.
Morrowind's AI is super simple. There are basic values for the AI which are fight, flee, hello, etc. They go from a scale from 0-100, and each value is basically a threshold (IE at 100 fight the NPC will always be aggressive, 30 fight is they're unaggressive but will defend themselves, 0 is they won't fight back, etc).

Calm and frenzy modifies those values by the magnitude of the spell. Most enemy NPCs have a fight value of 90 so if you have a calm 100 pts spell it'll make their fight value 0 and thus they'll stop fighting, and vice versa with frenzy.

deadlands1.jpg - 1920x1080, 755.56K

That version is rock solid.

It's not from him. It's made by Cicero from the TR team.

he never traded in goldbrand for eltonbrand

ngmi

becoming a vampire

nah bro

It's impossible to come across eltonbrand naturally. He'll, it's almost impossible to find out about boethias shrine naturally

Looks comfy
where do you get the boat at?

Ebonheart EEC (the one in vvardenfell) for 15,000 drakes plus tip

that webm

holy fucking shit lol

it's really shit
found something in TR that helps, even if it's borderline cheat-y

me because I read "they can turn undead once a day" and I thought that meant "could become a skeleton" because I was a stupid kid

Turn undead is so fucking useless

better than another skyrim remaster

unironically not trying to start a shit flinging contest, but what good scripted mods does mwse have that openmw doesn't? I only used openmw so I legit don't know

You can't get TR's custom spell effects in OpenMW, so no blink or passwall.

open console

type in tcl

oh no what a loss

Guar whisperer, ultimate fishing

walk off prison boat

get ambushed

kill him in two Frostbites

have one of the best complete light armor sets in the game and Ebony Darts delivered to your hands

sleep again

get another set and more Darts

already rich enough to buy any gear or spells or training you want to become a decent build

I'm convinced this was intentionally done to give returning players a ton of money with new characters.

I use trainwiz's spellcasting mod to make things as a spellcaster way better and that's not going an OpenMW

Most people playing without OpenMW are just used to MWSE and know what mods they like.
The people playing this game are 30 year old Millennial-Boomers after all.

If you're new, just use OpenMW.

that's on the tower
and it rules

Tribunal was rushed

I can't get Pilgrimage to the Tomb of St Olms work, bros
According to the wiki it's the one where you're supposed to touch the shrine, wait 24 hours and touch it again
I keep doing it and it's not working. I've talked with the Bal Foyen temple about this too, they told me to do the pilgrimage

Serves you right for following the heretical Temple.

Why walk when you can ri--?

images (68).jpg - 276x182, 8.11K

Isn't your whole claim to fame making tribunal bigger?

Making Sotha Sil bigger, but in my memory I remember SSE doubling the size of Tribunal's content, but Tribunal is actually even smaller than that. The content in just Narsis (the city) alone is like four times the size of Tribunal.

no blink or passwall.

I don't know about blink but passwall is definitely in openmw

file.png - 1170x239, 104.54K

That's not passwall. It's an effect, not a spell.

As in the magic that allows you to pass through walls?

Yes

They have OpenMW equivalents with vanilla effects. the MWSE version actually moves you through walls.

Yes.

There are people who play without Tribunal delay?

I just talk to the guy in ebonheart right away after an attack. Takes 2 minutes from Seyda Neen

I do, I just ignore the the bodies.

There's a lot of them for me, personally
Most of Merlord's mods
next.nexusmods.com/profile/Merlord/mods
Stuff like Magicka expanded and Skills Module that lets you integrate new skills and magic seamlessly into vanilla is a main draw. The mods that use those frameworks are pretty cool, like Joy of Painting and Necrocraft
And then there's stuff that changes vanilla gameplay mechanics that needed an overhaul like the Buying Game and mort's stealth improved and pickpocketing mods to make sneak less horrible
This is just a quick and dirty list off the top of my head

Ohhh alright then.

yes its just more falseflagging from MWSEtroons.

the same person who complains about Crassius Curio

55544.jpg - 1079x1079, 400.35K

Huh, I guess it works then? I'm just going off what I read, I don't play OpenMW.

I just savescum every time I sleep.

rich evans

Myself (forma del Imperial)

insane that troonperials think i should consider these things as fellow citizens

Why wouldn't you? Like 90% of slaves are held in random bandit caves. Free them as you clear the cave and then get a reward. Even RPing as the Most Racist Dunmer alive it still makes sense to free them, it's not like your raiding plantations.

Balmora
Home

home.png - 2000x1217, 3.92M

mods? textures look really nice

ball moral

I play a Dunmer who worships/fears Azura and he reluctanty frees the Khajiit but leaves the lizardmen.

Looks like CHIM reshaped this land a little too hard

If you wanted to sleep you chose the right game. You will be out in no time.

At least it was until Hlaalu fucked everything up.

Why u free them niggas?

That looks absolutely horrendous.

Isn't Balmora established 14 years ago along with the colonization of Vvardenfell?

There was a great spellbook organization mod where you could click icons to filter spells by school along with other QOL stuff, I'm not aware of anything ported to MWSE that has similar functionality.

Because Azura had a hand in making them and my character wants to be on her good side/doesn't want to be on her bad side.

what armor is that?

mgso

the TR races are so fucking funny

If you want to be on her good side, then you should be shepherding her creations to a place where they're safe and cared for by her other creations, the Dunmer. Khajiit left alone inevitably fall into idleness and skooma addiction, it's the dark elf's burden to help them achieve their full potential.

what too much skooma does to a mfer

dude shut up. magic is the only fun part about TeS combat because of how you can get so creative with it. I dont want it to be balanced to the point its boring as shit like skyrim. im not even a power fantasy gamer, melee in their engine is just intolerable as a gameplay appreciating gamer, okay?

Killed that faggot Venim with a weak as fuck dagger in a duel just to humiliate him and then I became archmaster of house Redoran.

Bro its heavily implied that Azura was the one who got them addicted to moon sugar in the first place. Why do you think memeartist depicts Azura as a washed up pothead?

so is OpenMW good now? i modded it last year but then saw all the mods that aren't compatible with it. i'm thinking of modding morrowind again, but not sure if i should go with OpenMW or not

I thought mgso was useless now and something else had replaced it? What should I use if I clean install tonight for openmw

sure whatever vanilla nigger

what mod do you use to fix the rumor dialog?

isn't this shit completely fucked and buggy? is it also compatible with openmw? is there also something similar or equivalent if its true that this mod is old and buggy as fuck?

i do this. it is a fantastic experience.

openmicrowave user

try the mod that unlocks all the races

get to hill giants

I wonder where they'll get used.

dagoth.jpg - 225x225, 14.1K

Is it viable to play without using magic? I've always found spell casting to be kind of lame

If there's mods you want to use that don't have an OpenMW version, you play MGE
If there isn't, there's no harm playing OpenMW

Yes. Even the creator keeps telling people not to use it anymore.

You didn't beat the game.

at least ultima underworld was true 3d world, beth couldn't even manage that before daggerfall

whats a good alternative? i have this one which is just a basic vanilla upscaler that retains the original style but i would be interested in something going in MGSO's direction
nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/46221

I just live with it

I've been playing a lad with no spellcasting abilities, level 19 and very successful, though I have used scrolls and potions a bunch mainly for healing and utilities like water breathing/telekinesis/chameleon. And of course Sujamma is technically a potion.
You could definitely do some kind of barbarian run with zero magic or magic items just as a challenge. Stealth would be agonizing and some underwater/levitation stuff would be inaccessible but I think that's it.

I beat the game back in 05' nigga while barely understanding English

Alright, I modded Morrowind
Now what?

Oblivion/Skyrim have a lot of immersive sim characteristics.

masturbate aggressively

I don't why anyone plays a pure mage since the real power of magic comes from the enchanted gear, which you can pay NPCs to make for you. You can play a sub-80 IQ Nord barbarian and make a ring of 100% weakness to Frost on target @ 50ft + 100 Frost damage on target @50ft, sip a levitation potion and then freeze an entire town to death in seconds, watching them fall like snowflakes from above, no MP expended.

bodyslide outfit studio fucking WHEN

jesus wept...

dude just restart your game every time TR gets an update

king_baldwin.jpg - 3000x1680, 342.75K

Yeah nigga just make a new character

so once a year?

when the fuck are they gonna add this to openmw?

i like how half of them is just cats, and not even all the bipedal khajiit types are in yet, and eventually there's gonna be like 4 lizard variants too

What frecuency of updating are you assuming TR has?

This nigga finna wait until the whole ass mod is finished in 2053 wehat an asswhole

oh sweet! i hadn't checked in a while but i see its available for 0.49. thanks :)

Buy armor from the upscale anvil armorer

I only recognize the vanilla and a few TR items but I'm gonna need a sauce on these

no spells

Very easy. Very viable.

no magic

Why would you do this to yourself? Magic is everywhere in Morrowind and super fucking useful.

Lmao this nigga thinks he Seth ahahaha

haven't even halfway finished the guilds i wanted to do

already level 30

You can do the "setlevel" command

I believe the pauldrons are from a big fuckoff dungeon you access via daedric shrine a bit north of almas thirr on an island

Not Trainwiz but I think the pauldrons are from Khalaan in a chest next to Methats Uldun

No magic as in no spells, yes but it's lame
No magic as in no spells, no enchants, no potions? laughing_telvannis.jpg

4 lizard variants

I thought argonians didn't have variants like the cats?

Oh the pauldrons are Khalaan's reward, yeah. They're alright.

Oh nice, I'll give this a shot
assuming these are the same thing I'll check that out tonight. Haven't found it in 2 recent playthroughs somehow, is it mages guild or temple related?

Who ever said that? Argonians have been described as having "strains" since the Pocket Guide to the Empire and the concept was explored in more detail in an in-game book series from Oblivion. they don't work like the Khajiit forms where they're all a single race and can give birth to each other depending on the phase of the moons if that's what you meant

lizard (tits) (hist slave)
lizard (tits) (farm equipment)
lizard (tits) (free)
lizard (no tits) (hist slave)
lizard (no tits) (farm equipment)
lizard (no tits) (free)

I count at least six variants.

Basically yeah.

I think I heard the hist they drink from determines their exact form or something. It's hard to research this stuff because everything is infested with ESO lore.

Haven't found it in 2 recent playthroughs somehow, is it mages guild or temple related?

Khalaan is really well hidden, one temple quest from Almas Thirr leads to it and the other anon mentioned a place where another quest can be found. There's also a third way which is the coolest, I won't spoilt it but it involves playing bells in a certain order.

That's an ESO thing, and is supposed to apply only to the minor physical differences between Argonian tribes within the same subspecies. The variants are a different thing entirely, and the implication is that there are simply multiple species of Hist-worshipping lizard people, they're not one monolithic thing decided by magic mumbo jumbo the way the Khajiit moonphase forms are

Will Tamriel Rebuilt be compatible with the 2026 Morrowind remaster?

There will be no morrowind remaster

Trannywind

So that's a no?

Todd has a seething hatred of Morrowind, it will never be remastered

Can you use Oblivion 2006 mods for the Oblivion Remaster, you stupid fuck?

I locked my house in Balmora where I stored every unique item in the game and all my stuff, changed my clothes to just the noble ones, beside that took just my money with me, and went to Ahnassi to retire. Saved the game, uninstalled. My Nord will forever be happy with Ahnassi in this save file.

Got the skull for the orc necromancer, will probably explore a bit before going to Vivec to continue the MSQ

Eeew

How did you get that orc to admit again

Gotta unlock the chest next to her and grab one of the books then show it to her
Not really worth it

Why does Seyda Neen need an overhaul? What's gained by removing all the trees?

they'd still take any stolen items you had though wouldn't they? kind of annoying, better to avoid needing to talk to them

fuck no
the bitter coast needs to look like a florida cypress swamp, not a pussy marsh

In the Argonian Account series of books, 8 feet tall snake-like Argonians (the ones in that pic that are being actively worked on for TR) and colorful Argonians with very narrow snouts are described in detail and play important roles in the story. Frog-like and winged Argonians are also mentioned in passing. Like the other guys said, they're not like the Khajiit variants, the most common interpretation for their existence being that the Hist uplifted multiple reptilian creatures into sapient races.

In the TRverse, the different Argonian types are

saxhleel (the regular lizard Argonians from the base game)

naga (snake-like and very tall, from Argonian Account), who are actually more faithful description from tve books than the ESO version

agacephs (described as having thin snouts, usually interpreted as gharials, also from the Argonian Account)

paatru (toad-like, from the Argonian Account)

sarpa (winged, from the Argonian Account)

tumnatu (big and strong and turtle-like, the only ones that are wholly original to TR)

Using the game's "Gulliver's Travels" author as a accurate lore source

lmao

rule of cool, bitch

God I love anthropomorphized frogs so much, I wish more games did it. Honestly this extends to nearly all amphibian and lizards.
t. Not a scalie or a f*rry of any kind

this guy manages to be gayer than the ESO people, which is impressive

Where's Namira's quest? I've stumbled across Meridia's and Sanguine's but I have no clue where to begin looking.

file.png - 752x158, 11.52K

I tried in my first playthrough, even with 100 acrobatics you cant go up divyath fyr's tower without levitate, which means no main quest.

Went to a Spa and was thoroughly disappointed when they had zero occupancy.

Telvanni, proving their argument correct by stealing property from people who can't do anything to atop you, making it yours to do with as you wish.

It's called roleplaying. I'm playing an imperial knight with very minimal magic ability and I'm having fun.

bcom has the best seyda neen overhaul, it even dovetails into tr's account of the village's founding (which I assume is narrated in some book I never read that inspired both mods)

A Redguard praising the House Unmourned? BLASPHEMY!

Are any of these the Arena Argonians?

There's like a billion pieces of levitate gear and the game throws the potions at your face, at some point you're just being willfully dumb.

going to build a new rig to go HARD on Morrowind and TR / whatever else

Do.. do you need all that to run morrowind now?!

It's great.
But like watching a movie on your phone it isn't the same. Still awesome of you already played the game for years already.

I was just about to post this nigga get out of my head

There actually is a soft cap on how many times dark brotherhood will attack you between level-ups, I forget the formula but I know if you take a long time between levels because you're only using slow majors like destruction and don't use trainers it will be ages between each DB attack

Argonians are property got hidden

Grim times to be a Dunmer.

I love Septim's Gate. There's just something about video game border crossings that tickles a very specific autism I have, it's a definitive end to a map that implies something much greater on the other side placed at the very fringes. Along those lines I also love the Mojave Outpost and have a mod for Skyrim that adds unique border gates just to feed into this very very niche 'tism.
Think I'm going to place down an Ashfall camp right outside, load that motherfucker up with all the fixings. I live here now.

No, the only ones at Bethesda who ever tried to explain Arena Argonians were (i think) Ted Peterson, who suggested that perhaps Argonians look more or less human depending on how much hist sap they consume, something that is very obviously not a part of the lore in any game and so TR doesn't use it; and Kirkbride, who said that they were Dunmer hybrids created by the Hist to spy on Morrowind, something that also nobody really uses, not even PT/TR as far as i'm aware. Overall, Arena Argonians are one of those things where everybody just sorta agrees it's just a silly old game thing that isn't and doesn't need to be explained with modern lore.

That being said, something Arena-related that i forgot to mention in that post is the fact that there's another Argonian variant planned: Kiralli, who are supposed to be the generic "lizardmen" enemy from Arena, basically Black Marsh's goblins, barely sentient and always hostile.

I kinda hate that PC and SHOTN both started on the other fucking side of the province.

skooma really fucking with my brain...

Yes.

Lady website. Lady board.

I actually like that as it allowed them to make their own little segregated content oasis without having to plan ahead with the other project(s) on shared terrain and/or content.
Also comes with the inherent bonus of doing something meaningfully different, unlike for example the Beyond Skyrim morons who made LittleSkyrimInCyrodiil as their first and only release.

bloatmaxxin retard who didn't experience rude natives

You disgust me.

God this game is boring as shit and looks like ass, this what zoomer contrarians are into these days? Why are all the dungeons the same shame shit and why do all the npcs regurgitate the same wikipedia articles when you "talk" to them?

Nigga it's just 30 yo millennial boomers replaying it every year nigga

Jaque de Soi
Breton who enjoys watching redguards fuck his wife

I always go lady for a melee character and atronoch/mage for a caster depending on whether or not they're high elf

Zoomer contrarians are into Skyrim which was made to "fix" your complaints zoomer-kun.

wealth beyond measure, outlander

I installed all the big province mods, which should I do first and what level should I do them at?

Counterpoint: No border crossings means no bueno.

Actually zoomer contrarians are into the Oblivion remaster to hate on Skyrim because it's popular yet they could never get into the original because muh graphics

You will never be a Lady

That's the Telvanni spirit

Nah, morrowshills love skyshit but seethe bitterly at based oblivion, even though skyshit had almost all the same problems at launch. Pure contrarianism at play there.

are telvanni just intelligent klingons?

just remember that Morrowind needs a high single-core performance because even with OpenMW it doesn't take advantage of multithreading

Nobody even talks about the Oblivion remaster anymore.

Fair enough

Update on sovor trandel.
I did some mages guild quests.
I managed to scrape together some money to buy a charm spell for 2k coins, then spellcrafted a 2 second 50 effect charm on touch. Then used that to bribe him for the key.

The next challenge is to put on some levels with my 20 armor rating and 30 health. I'm still level 1 and the scamp in maar gan can 2 shot me through dragon skin.

I might be able to grind money raiding dwemer ruins since the enemies are very slow and you often loot rubies and diamonds, then I can use that to train rather than fight.

Uh... in English, doc?

Yes except for the intelligent part.

Oblivion remaster

Who?

could have saved the scratch with some bug musk, the charm spell will be useful later though.

No one "talks" about the games they're playing retard, they just come here to shitpost or jerk off. Maybe Anon Babble actually "plays" the games, but I highly doubt it.

it boggles my mind how many retards bought the oblivion demake, it's just vanilla oblivion. vanilla oblivion fucking sucks

Based mammal supremacist

WHO'S IN ALMALEXIA?!

make my own mod which lets me torture the slaves for magical research, which lets me unlock spells/magic items/other stuff

modding is cool
Now if only I could figure out a way to use random gen levelled creatures, like bandits, as prisoners for the same experiments without it breaking the levelled creature list object and disallow it from spawning another creature. Plus also sometimes the prisoners just leave, but sometimes they don't. God, Telvanni is the best great house by far.

Become a Berne Vampire.

By the Nine I love big, puffy, blue nipples.

Vampires in this game feel pretty damn shit. Sure you get some nice stat boosts and a little clan quest for your respective strain of vampirism but being hated by pretty much every faction outside of the mages guild sucks.

GLORY to you and your giant mushroom house!

Gowron2.jpg - 261x300, 15.17K

Which playable race is the most beloved or at least least hated across the continent, you guys think?

Most of the game is shit in general but no one will ever acknowledge it just deflect to better games that they seethe at perpetually. This is the problem with nostalgia goggles.

According to the game stats, Imperials.

Holy fuck, what's fucking up my game. no mods atm but i can't move my cursor on main menu

Septim's Gate is also a kino starting location. Some other anon suggested to coc there after character creation and it was a really fun change to start out as an Imperial crossing the border on my way to Narsis.

it was a pretty weird nerf from daggerfall, not sure why they did that

Imperials and it's not a close match.

Probably Bretons or Redguards. Bretons export their magic throughout the Empire and the only people that hate Redguards are the Tamrielic Coast Guard.

They all have very high intelligence points

Most beloved by fans or in the series? If later probably bretons since they're pretty inoffensive and don't start many controversies outside of the events of Daggerfall. Only orcs, redguards, and reachmen if you count them dislike them while everyone else is at worst amicable towards them. Runner up is probably Imperials who only the piss elves and dungmer usually seethe at.

imperials globally, and in game because of a built in charm and 50 personality. i don't know if people casually dislike bosmer or any of the more obscure races.

Probably Bretons. All the others are hated because:

Imperials - fuckers in charge

Altmer - arrogant assholes

Nords - violent pirates

Orcs - violent bandits

Dunmer - hate every else

Argonians - niggers

Khajit - thieving niggers

Redguard - actual niggers

Bosmer - Fargoth

It's in Narsis somewhere dark and full of vermin

That's all of Narsis.

Yeah going vampire felt a lot better in Daggerfall. Got nice stat boosts and one of several vampire factions depending on which turned out while not ostracizing you from 99% of the rest of the game.

Vampirism is always an afterthought in these games, which I guess makes sense since most players won't experience it. Daggerfall probably did it best overall, but it's very hard to actually get infected in that game.

Is TR even good? At the end of the day, its still a mod. Is it all wokeshit?

Cheers lad. I'll start rummaging around there

vampire lord is fun enough in skyrim i will say.

Fuck no, if anything Imperials are one of the most despised in virtue of the fact that they y'know, run the big continent-spamming Empire hated by a very significant amount of people in every province. The Argonians and Khajiit in particular canonically hate them quite a bit with the An-xileel and the Leyawiin freedom fighter group whose name i forgot existing, imagine the races that aren't getting freed from slave status.

Hating imperials and the empire is a globally beloved past time

Imperials have a charm power and the highest base personality
So by game logic, it is imperial
The race/gender combo with the lowest personality is a female orc
Even male orcs have a higher personality

that's because female orcs were canonically ugly until skyrim turned them into sexy green elves, and ugly witch-like women are less appealing than big strong ugly guys i guess

I always figured it's because they tend to be a lot more abrasive than the male orcs

This game needs some mount/vehicle mod, but not the rideable guars, horses or boat mods
It needs bonemold skateboards

just found a sick coat
these redguards have taste in fashion

Is this general dying? We had at least 2 400+ post threads a day for a couple weeks

trains acrobatics and athletics

perform sick tricks impress the locals

perform even sicker tricks with slowfall/levitation/waterwalking

Well, in Daggerfall you get the sense you are playing as an unholy cursed monster that needs to live in graveyards and crypts while also not excluding you from most of the content like Morrowind does.

Vampire Lord in Skyrim is cool in a power fantasy way but you never really feel like you are a vampire, which I guess is because Skyrim isn't really a roleplaying game.

It's basically the same as not picking a birth sign so why would anyone? It sounds lame as fuck too. It's still better than the lord I guess, but the lord works as a challenge.

Birthsigns are such shit (yes even the lady) because they are so boring and pointless you forget about them 10 min into the game. They have some flavor text giving them some personalities but no actual mechanic to reflect it or fuel roleplaying. Unless of course it's the atronatch (or oblivion's apprentice) then your character is defined by it. I wish they had made the other birth signs more like that with a blessing and a curse that altered your playthrough in some way.

There's mods that try to fix the really shitty ones but they go overboard and just cover you in a bunch of permanent blessings to the point it feels like cheating.

I killed Foryn Gilnith and he had an amulet of summon bonewalker in his basket. Glad he didn't use it on me.

There's not a schizo actively trying to get the threads removed like what happened with Elin so probably going for a while yet.

w-what happened to the redguard?

Do I look like an argonian to you? I am a murderer, not some petty criminal.

I like the Hlaalu version

You're not using any magic if you drink a potion.
Is eating food magic? Are you a Nord?

Is eating food magic?

borderline.png - 437x376, 268.33K

Literally my first sign and my current sign

It's basically the same as not picking a birth sign so why would anyone

Because I was born in the month of morning star. That is to say, january.

You're not using any magic if you drink a potion.

Is eating food magic? Are you a Nord?

Nords genuinely believe that yelling is magic.

Even common guards are blinged out with ebony axes in Narsis

Hlaalu jews can't suffer

Just depends on how purist you want to go. It's like vegetarian vs vegan. You aren't casting a spell by drinking a potion, but you are engaging in a magical effect on your body. Then there's the question of enchanted gear.
This could be an interesting challenge run, actually.

You can but there's no way that wasn't an oversight. Only Ygfa sells it and it's obscenely undercosted.

Quite literally every single person of importance across every single culture and era in the universe is a caster or uses magic in some way anyways

Uuum grug no magic!

What is this retardation

i've heard pelagiad was the first area to be fleshed out, there's a fair bit of unique stuff there.

Most commoners too, especially in Vvardenfell.

What is this retardation

N*rds are literally too dumb for magic so magic sucks in Skyrim, but it's the most popular TES game so the mindset spreads to other games.

how do i join the ja-datta syndicate

Yeah loads of the npc classes have restoration as a skill. Which makes sense if you are going to live near the cancer volcano.

i ran into a few of their goons in the sewers but they said i wasn't gangster enough, i'm guessing they want me to have a serious bounty.

Find them in Narsis sewers or in one of the new redoran villages

There's a hideout in the Narsis foreign quarter sewers where I joined and also one in Ald Iuval but I don't know if you can join there. Also you need a bounty.

They took me with a 5 septims bounty

One of the selling points of the game is nord magic

Nord magic

They're just yelling. They meditate on how to yell loudly.

This one is actually better than most. Thanks anon I'll try it.

Do that with this mod

Breasts beyond measure outlander.

Going back to Vvardenfell after spending a lot of time on the mainland feels so quaint.

quaint

Lmaooo look at this mages guild loser

Attribute buffs turn to shit in late game. The only good birth signs are the ones with permanent, otherwise unobtainable* buffs such as Apprentice and Atronach.

*unobtainable in a normal playthrough with no exploits

Ahnassi not being a well known waifu is criminal. She's such a qt.

End up in the Telvanni area due to a quest

It's actually pretty good

The only reason people say this is bad is because of how damn good the newer areas are in comparison. Compared to vanilla Morrowind this is just as good.

And what exactly happens if you don't? How about I just paste all the files of the new update into my folder? How about that? Plus the download link says

Fully compatible with existing saves - Any errors will disappear on save + reload

so yeah how about that

Nigga I ain't runnin slow for 10 hours nigga I take the steed all day erry day you feel me??

I went The Lord in Oblivion Remastered. 15 magic resist and 15 armor.

Anyone else find old immersion breaking mods stupid and charming?

the hist sap stuff comes from the novel i think
and kuckbride has said stuff before about argonians being able to look like anything

Your boots, negro?

What's with all the retards talking like zoomers on twitter?

Pretty kitty.

fr fr

Skyrim unc is mad at morrozoomers

Does TR add a good amount of Imperial Cult quests or are the religious ones mainly Temple?
I've never run through either faction and all the Temple stuff in Almas Thirr seems really tempting but I don't think I could justify joining as an Imperial. Or maybe I can RP him getting caught up in the romance of a foreign religion, working his way through the ranks firstly as a joke then becoming more and more devout, then have the walls come crashing down on him once he meets with the Dissident Priests and he realizes how stupid the whole thing was ultimately ending with him rejoining the Cult.

the new tiber septim simulator looks sweet

40 hours in

I'm still nowhere near the new area

My mages guild jobs have sent me to the Sacred East and Telvannis areas I've never been to so it's like a new expansion for me up here too

Just delivered an apology letter from the mages guild to a Telvanni Lord who predictably gave zero fucks, healed a slave (but I think she's been poisoned and the cure will kill her), and helped a couple of adventurers fuck up some cultists (and gained a ton of cool shit to sell and also decorate my own mage lair with)

Well shit, looks like this'll be another 200 hours.

That's more because Kirkbride defines "Argonian" as being anyone who's useful to the Hist. In his words, there are elves who are "Argonian" and lizards who are "not Argonian".

or RP as a corrupt temple priest, some quests literally involve shaking pilgrims up and embezzling temple funds lmao

so what are lizards who are not useful to the hist called? farming tools?

the arena argonians are pretty reptilian in face, just missing a tail
all things considered, if they added some goofy lore about moonphases to explain away arena khajiit, they can just make it so that arena argonians had tails retroactively or were just more human-like because of the hist shenanigans

Does TR add a good amount of Imperial Cult quests

Yes, there are three decently long questlines in big temples and a handful extra ones in other locations.
Temple has more shit of course, but that makes sense. It would be silly if the IC had the same presence as the tribunal.

I kinda wanna do a Lawrence of VVanderfell playthrough now

Saxhleel is the word used in the Umbriel novels, ESO and TR

Should I upgrade from I heart Vanilla Plus to Total Overhaul?
its gonna take me hours but I bet its worth it.

Some are fun. Some are like "you okay bro"

571 mods

kek, how does the openmw list work? Is it automatic or are you going to have to do all that yourself?

powershell commands and clicking Slow Download a lot.

I've been pleased with the TR quests I've done so far, there's a decent amount of variety and depth

I kinda wanna do some Many kinda shit, if I could only find a modeler who could rig up some new disgusting shit

Morrowind022.jpg - 1600x900, 240.83K

One day, we'll be able to run at least some of the TR cities in buttery smooth 60 fps

Kino.

I'm running this on a cheap gaming laptop and it runs fine, even in Old Ebonheart. Why does everything have to be 60fps or above at all times? I grew up with consoles in the 90s and 2000s when everything was 30fps. That was also fine.

And in Skyrim
en.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Madesi

"Forgive me. It's a term I haven't used in some time. While most in Tamriel call my kind Argonian, we prefer the term Saxhleel."

Where the heck do you get ice crystals, I've checked every alchemist in Bal Foyen (asking for the Almalexia pilgrimage)

I kind of want to make a Dunmer in Daggerfall that fled the tribunal to worship the good daedra in peace. Is such a character possible?

Almalexia pilgrimage

This currently exists? How? The city itself isn't in the mod yet.

Not the city dum-dum, the lady
It's in Bal Foyen, right in the middle of the town

KARMA KARMA KARMA KARMA KARMA CHAMELEOOON
YOU COME AND GOOOOOO
YOU COME AND GOO, OOOooooOO
Does it even do anything above 100%

So... what's the deal with the underwater Dunmer stronghold in the inner sea? I found it while exploring but didn't find anything too amazing in there.

Are you talking about Boethiah's sunken shrine? He puts you on a quest to help rebuild a new statue for him if that's what you are talking about.

i think it's just a +to your sneak skill in morrowind, i guess a certain extremely lucky bosmer may still be able to notice you.

Look harder.

4ever waifu

file.png - 635x704, 303.99K

No, I'm talking about an actual stronghold in Tamriel Rebuilt that's completely submerged in the sea to the south of Vvardenfell.
I figured as much. I got interrupted in my exploration by leveling up and needing to divine intervention out of there.

Always bring detect enchantment stuff with you, or you'll miss out on prime loot like Nerevar's Axe.

The very one he (supposedly) fucked one of the moons over with? Nice!

nord

atronach

60 str and end for 60hp starting

heavy armor & block

immunity to frost, 50% light res, 50 spell absorption at lv.1

my go-to build for when I don't want to think and just smash shit. most dangerous enemies in the base game are spell casters, and by the time you reach expansions you can invest in some enchantments to get sanctuary so the gigastrong physical damage dealers aren't as much of a problem.

block

I still have no idea how block works in this game

Anyone mess with Namira's Shroud? I did a questline which lead me to it on a whim and it's something of a game changer

I can't use Atronach because:

I like Fair Magicka Regen and it renders it moot

My autism does not allow for a permanent negative effect in the corner of the screen

So I just go for The Mage if I'm making a wizard.

It is the moralfag sign for people who do this:

At least I know that block works, 20+ years and I still have no idea of sneaking actually does anything or how it goes up.

I do it because I like the sound it makes when they unequip the bracers, but if the key isn't laying on a corpse nearby I don't bother

iirc TR geography operates under the interpretation that the Inner Sea did not exist until around the time of the Battle of Red Mountain* so you're bound to find some interesting stuff in the water
(*This is talked about in vanilla as well, albeit with contradictory sources. My guess: Dragon break timey wimey bullshit.)

I'm genuinely starting to wonder if there's room for a Morrowind exclusive general on Anon Babble considering how much Morrowind specific discussion is presently possible

but maybe I'm just starry eyed

Would be cozy, but I don't think it would work. Just enjoy the stealth general on Anon Babble.

Random chance if you are 1-handing a weapon and have a shield equipped, that you will block attacks directed at you. I forget the formula, but it's out there somewhere, and IIRC takes into account enemy weapon skill & agility/luck vs. your block & agility/luck.

It comes with the territory

Yeah, how dare people actually discuss a game!
Eat shit, you fucked up little sperg. I hope your carer works out you're using your allotted computer time to scream about trannies and takes your machine away for your own good.

Attack needs to come from within 90 degrees left of the center of your vision and something like 40-50 degrees within the right of center, too

I stopped thinking about trannies for like an hour while planning out my Daggerfall character. Thank you for reminding me of their divine presence.

Anon Babble is for people who hate the game they spend their lives playing.

Cities using only one architectural style makes them feel like they have no history, they feel fake.

Anon Babble always devolves into shit. Enjoy the popularity bubble until it pops.

Skyrim has Giants.

Yeah.
It's neat how morrowind has a bunch of places not like that though.

myself.

looks like a map in left4dead or something

Oh, we can go further on the Redguard hate than just calling them niggers.

Destroyed an entire continent with SORD MAJAKK

Commited genocide on civilized Mer

Raped, pillaged and burned their way throughout western Tamriel, killed countless innocents to carve their own piece of the pie.

Murdered Nahfahlaar, an Imperial hero.

Rebelled against their imperial masters the moment Ocato got stabbed.

They say so many horrible things about the Orcs, when the true savages were the black tide of the Niggers all along.

Numidium causes dragon breaks when turned on. It's more than strong enough to smash Tamriel to bits, so a small inner sea in morrowind is piece of cake to it.

Like those weird monstrosities Reman and his followers made?

it's for trannies who basically e-date through the thread so yeah
