Saga sucks because she is a boring character. I don’t know why they chose to force her into the narrative so hard. Also, the “Mind Place” is one of the worst mechanics I’ve ever encountered in a game. Actively detracted from the experience.

It's a direct sequel to Alan Wake and barely has anything to do with Control outside of the Lake House DLC, which also has nothing to do with the events of Control.

Saga was a shit character - not because she was black, but because they completelly dropped every opportunity to make her character arc actually compelling. Shit man, i was certain her succesful cop life with a loving husband a living daughter was a fake, created by scratch to bribe her into doing his biding, and she would have to sacrifice that comforting fantasy to save the world. It was even foreshadowed by the fact that she didn't have any photos of memories with her husband in her mind palace, and the fact that many of the residents seemed knew her from birth.
It genuinelly feels like they rewrote her story from scratch right before they released the game and forgot to give her any character defining moments.

The first game had a good story and awful repetitive boring gameplay. The second one that people like to pretend it doesn't exist (alan wake american-nightmare) got rid of the good story and was just awful repetitive boring gameplay.
The third one (alan wake 2) is also lacking in terms of decent plotline and the gameplay remains just as awful as the two previous ones.
The only thing it got going for it is that it looks good if you have an OLED monitor/tv, that really is the only positive thing I can say about it. But I wouldn't even recommend playing it since it's a drag.
