He did everything right. He didn't deserve this.
He did everything right. He didn't deserve this
No one cares
im not playing this game. the art style looks really ugly and the world looks ugly and uninteresting.
He didn't deserve this.
Yes, he did.
He tried to kill millions of innocent people. He deserves to have Lune crush his balls forever.
Alicia's ending is just that much funnier if you do it after the third axon. Aline was right all along in hating her child.
His whole deal is he does literally everything wrong and messes up everything for everyone, it's just he has good reasons for doing so. Maelle is the opposite.
why was he so mad, he did pinky swear after all..
Verso was trying to give Maelle something much more valuable: a life
If you can call being a burnt freak show that can't speak a life
I doubt she'll ever find a sex partner, but she can be happy
millions
If she won't commit suicide first
He didn't deserve this.
Let die the only sane person who could convince Maelle and solve the painter shitfest
No. Gustave must live so fVerso must play the piano
Nigger the dude literally lied and manipulated everyone the whole game. Sure he was right but still
Why didn't he side with Renoir in Act 3?
He's French
Pajeets did everything wrong. You deserved the British empire.
Sure he was right but still
Anon, almost everyone in the Canvas wants to live, Alicia wants to live with her friends, even Renoir backed off - why the fuck does 1 fake Verso decide for all of them?
Verso deserves nothing after killing Gustave for the dumbest reason imaginable.
Killing Gustave was genuinely the most stupid thing he did in the 100+ years he lived.
Renoir killed Gustave.
He backed off for now. Ain’t no way he letting Alicia die in the painting. Next time he comes back will be with Clea.
Gustave is modeled by his mother after him and his father so he can do whatever he wants
And he didn’t kill Gustave
Clea btw is such a daddy’s girl, fading man is Renoir he speaks how she and him are most alike and how she would challenge him non-stop
He hoped Maelle would see reason and leave the canvas. He didn't want it destroyed, even though he himself wanted to die.
Then he saw Maelle going "Dude I can quit anytime I want" and that was it.
Two hundred thousand tops and I am taking huge risk with this number
We will never get a prequel DLC about when young Aline saved Renoir when he was having an Alicia moment.
The painters' fights are postponed, the painting survives and Alicia gets few happy moments with people who truly love and care for her before she's forced off the Canvas.
So Maelle's ending is actually a happy ending, unlike Verso's one.
This does not sound like a malevolent goddess chaining a man to a keyboard. It sounds like a little sister wanting to hang out with her big bro. How is this a bad end?
Her big bro is dead.
Stop shitposting, Verso, and go back to playing the piano.
I want my first concert to be yours
Shes literally begging for it and Verso isnt cunnypilled enough to notice
Obsessive little sisters are no good
Should obsess over your husband not brother
who are literally already dead, he would have just prevented their resurrection - he tried to kill about 6 people
people
painted are not people, they're drawings.
Not really she literally doesn’t let her brother’s soul rest
She made a guy who's allergic to telling the truth and keeping promises, keep his promise and made it so he was truthful a single time. She's pure evil.
She can't be happy when she gets shredded by German artillery.
What retarded logic is this? Preventing the safe return of people is literally the sane as killing them.
He killed le millions
You mean the npcs created by her mother to populate her pretendoland?
His canvas his rules
Ain't his canvas.
Why didn't everybody else simply reject the Gommage like her?
If NPCs don't count then Alicia's opinion is the only one that matters as of having yeeted everyone else from the painting.
I love how Maelle contradicts her own ending by respecting pAlicia will (while emprisoning her pBrother in her escapism puppet theatre shortly after like her mother)
Maelle please, no more piano lessons, my body can't take it
Wait...what's going on? Why am I naked? W-what are on earth are you wearing?
Maelle! STOP! You can't sit there! Don't sit on my lap! I DON'T WANT THIS! NO! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
How is it contradictory? PAlicia deserved peace. Verso doesn't and the least he should be doing is trying to live a good life for everything he fucked up.
Seems reasonable.
I think you missed the parts where they refer to it as VERSO'S canvas, but your attention span got fried beyond belief
This is the game of the generation, you choosing not to engage with it is only your loss, no one cares however
Verso never once respected anyone else's wishes so he is afforded the same courtesy.
So if I hire an actor and give him the rundown of what Verso's life probably must be like, and how he might think and perhaps experienced, I got a say in what happens to the Canvas?
Cause that's all fake Verso is.
No?
And nobody ever respected his wishes when Aline fucked the whole canvas up. Verso absolves the original sin in the end.
Retard.
No he isn't, he's basically an exact copy. He's the closest thing to Verso that still exists
Medalum being originally Verso's sword was a cool touch.
Painter Verso had no problem with Aline's creations, he had problems with the fighting in the canvas.
Only fake Verso is pissy about being alive which seems like something he should be getting over, not bring down others with him for.
They're already dead. Me stopping you from using the Necronomicon to bring them back isn't the same as me personally killing them.
He was perfectly justified in kicking Alicia out because she was actively killing herself. You know, a REAL person.
You are failing to understand that the guy is tormented by his very existance, painted by his mother as an immortal tò overcome her cope first, and forced to live forever by his sister which did the same thing as her mother later
So why did Alicia side with the writers and burn Verso alive?
Thread theme
No. He is literally a "eh close enough" assumption from his mother. Nothing else. Any other take on him is absolutely stupid headcanon
Anon....
When his wishes are
I want to die and take everyone with me
They deserve not to be respected, and no, saving two people who don't want to be saved in the first place is no excuse for his actions.
painters
Allies
writers
Axis
This is the backstory of the game, not even joking.
using his memories and his canvas. Again, it doesn't matter if he IS Verso, it matters that he is the closest thing to a copy the world has. He has more of a right than any of the others.
Post the rest, you bad faith midwit
I understand it. Doesn't matter, though. Doing evil shit because you have had a sad life doesn't make it any less evil.
And he was outright evil more times than justified.
His sister had it worse, and she wasn't. No excuse.
Another thread of Maellefags getting BTFO'D, keep up the good work for those who come after
It's literally his canvas. It's like his mom loaded into his silly Sims world with fun creatures and got seriously addicted to making Paris in it because she misses him to the point of neglecting her other children, but a part of his soul is trapped there.
They'll never learn. They don't win the argument in any metric outside of their mental gymnastics and cope.
His sister had it worse, and she wasn't.
Playing pretend with the painted people and forcing Verso to play along is not what a good person does.
You belong in a mental hospital, fucking weirdo
He didn't do a single evil thing. He tried to put his family back together even though they weren't really his family, they were the real Verso's family. Lumiere isn't real you fucking autist.
Using an ASSUMPTION of his memories. And Aline's chroma. Nothing of Verso is involved in his making. It's all Aline.
Verso: But you are not Maelle.
Alicia: And you are not Verso. You are you.
Sorry. No. That's the whole point of his character and if you can't understand it then all the more hilarious you'd be rooting for his retardation.
I understand it. Doesn't matter, though
Looking at the finger while pointing at the sky is your problem, swim in your pond
No it's his memories, they used the piece of his soul still in the Painting
Verso admits to being able to save Gustave but he let Renoir kill him before saving Maelle.
Then he isn't real either therefore going against his design and creators is inherently evil. He is a bugged out machine by your standards and should be put out of commission.
his wishes are
you guys need to stop coping in an unhealthy way and go back to reality to take care of each other
Alicia and Aline are being retarded while Verso and Renoir are trying to put an end to their nonsense to help them
One must imagine Verso happy.
Literally never stated this is the case. Not once. Don't bring your headcanon to this discussion.
Gustave DESERVED to die
Which is it? Verso's wishes don't matter because he isn't real so it's okay to make him live and suffer forever against his will, or he is real like the other painted characters and so his life matters?
Maellefags have control delusions, that's why they try to gaslight people in every thread
I see Verso already has his shirt off ready for his hourly pegging from is loving sister. How thoughtful :)
Cast them.
t. Did not play the game
Verso still has his thoughts and involuntary responses (like crying).
Even if Maelle sat on his lap, he'd immediately go flaccid (because incest is wrong)
that's literally what happened
You tell me, you are the one pulling the painted people don't matter card.
Do they matter? Is he real?
Then he deserves to work back the pain he caused.
Do they not?
Then he should shut the fuck Up and defer to his betters anyway.
Verso and Maelle are entire responsible for killing my sweet cinnamon roll and best girl.
If the world rejected her truth, burn it all down.
It's never stated to be Aline's memories either. just 'his memories'
I think Andy Serkis could just do it right? He's a bit short, but that never stopped Tom Cruise just gotta do a bit of cinema magic to make him look bigger.
Esquie said he's more like the real Verso's cousin so I wouldn't be so sure...
Lol no it is not at all, you incel fuck
defer to his betters anyway
Do you mean the people who can't cope with his death and are killing themselves in a fantasy world (in the middle of a fucking warzone) instead of facing reality?
Yes, Renoir killed him.
When you look at from the outside, doesn't the game after Gustave death look like what would happen to a a story if the main character dies?
what? Then actually explain your argument instead of being a retarded fag
Cox is expensive and we can't afford him.
Clea literally states it is just a lookalike with what Aline believes him to be and nothing more.
That they are "his memories" falls into account of them being fabricated by her for the simple reason the painter child is an 8 year old splinter that has no concept of the real world whatsoever, so unless they somehow made that manifest 20 more years of real life experiences then removed them to revert him back to a kid for some reason, seems like a fucking stupid conclusion.
This kills the versofags. If the painted people are not real, just let Alicia decide. She is the only real person on the painting at the ending.
He didnt do anything.
He doesnt exist.
I dont care how many people in imaginationland he killed.
The whole painting shit ruined the entire story because in-universe none of it is real or matters.
I hate ‘meta’ narratives.
Exactly those. So do the painted people matter or not?
I doubt he's more expensive than Andry Serkis, but I guess if you could only keep one, you probably keep Serkis.
Even if Maelle sat on his lap, he'd immediately go flaccid
So would I, she has ZERO ass
I hope you don't drive.
Robert Pattinson as Gustave
Sadie Sink as Maelle
Shu Qi as Lune
Olga Kurylenko as Sciel
Pierce Brosnan as Renoir
Jake Gyllenhaal as Verso
Lizzy Caplain as Clea
Juliette Binoche as Aline
Monoco voiced by Vincent Cassel
Esquie voiced by Omar Sy
Alicia is a retarded 16 year old. She lacks proper judgement. It's the reason why she got tricked by the writers, got Verso killed and turned into a chicken nugget
The people in the painted world are not real. Alicia and Aline are retarded women playing with their dead son's toys because they got traumatized by his death, and are destroying themselves and their families by their poor coping strategies. But worse, because both the painted version of their dead son/brother and the remnants of him in the world (since he made it) both hate what it's become, what they made it into, and want to rest)
He did everything right. He didn't deserve this.
she read it later anyways
The people in the painted world are not real.
Then it isn't Verso's choice to make if that is your stance.
Real Renoir gave Alicia his blessing and allowed her choice. Who is painted Verso to contradict him?
So what I an hearing is that Verso does not matter, therefore if anyone needs to do anything about it it should fall to Renoir or Clea later, as nevertheless Alicia's opinion at the time of the ending is the only real human opinion, regardless of her mental state.
Glad we agree.
That was before she recovered her memories as Alicia.
That's alright. The letter was clearly meant for Alicia and not Maelle.
Okay, well good thing Renoir is real and also wants to stop them from killing themselves with self destructive grieving
wrong.
it's ok for parents to murder their children because they created them
fucking retard
There's only one good woman in this story. Everyone else is retarded. The men are all right in their own way. This is the only viewpoint you should consider.
Okay, well good thing Renoir is real and also wants to stop them from killing themselves with self destructive grieving
he lost
Way too late to matter. Betraying the trust of everyone was what mattered.
Found the antiabortionist
everyone who ever deleted a world in the Sims is a murderer
women need to gtfo Anon Babble
verso did nothing wrong in life or in death. he was a brave soul protecting his family no matter the cost. women simply cannot understand the male burden
Go and take a bath asmonig
It Is safe to assume that Maellefags are either underage or drumpf supporters
Renoir decided to believe his daughter would do the right thing and going by the ending and how she responded to Verso's allegations it's pretty clear he was wrong
And then he lost the fight and conceded for her to do as she wishes for now. If he wants to do the deed he can come back later and do that, since he has after all agreed to let her be.
So respecting his wishes, you are therefore saying Alicia should do as she sees fit, as that is what Renoir allows her by the end.
Good.
Renoir said fine, kill yourself if you want, I'm going to go help my wife then since I can't help you.
that's a tragic ending you retard
The painted people have sentience and therefore have moral worth, unlike a fetus
Renoir was entirely aware she was lying and trusted her regardless, don't need to bend the scene away from what is literally stated.
Yeah, maybe you are right. Still, Verso should just obey the real people and let Alicia deal with the consequences of lying to her father.
IMO it felt like trusted Verso to get her out.
Sounds like headcanon to me, and still doesn't change the situation.
Why didn't Verso play the long con? 10 to 20 more years of being the perfect bro and he could have her in the palm of his hand. He'd still be able to influence her and Maelle would probably be bored by then
anon how is it headcanon, everything is pretty explicitly laid out. did you even play the game or are you just fishing for (you)s
I accept your concession.
He was trying to save his mother who wasn't going to last another 10-20 years.
Painted people are sentient. Sims are not. Somehow there's a million imbeciles on this board who need this fundamental distinction spelled out to them
The painted people have sentience and therefore have moral worth
You missed the part where they are just representation of various characteristics of existing people. God y'all severely lack media literacy to even have the audacity to be this smug
10 to 20 more years of being the perfect bro and he could have her in the palm of his hand.
He would have the kids to worry about. Although Verso seems like the kind of guy to just walk out on them anyway if they got in the way of his goals.
How do you feel about this bucket?
Painted people are sentient
I doubt it, but it doesn't matter really. There are real people suffering because they're coping in extremely unhealthy ways. And it's even worse if the painted people are "real" because they're all getting fucked and their whole world is dealing with one family's trauma as fake Verso explicitly explains to awakened Maelle, who can't argue against it (because it's true)
wtf did you do to Lune
Verso explicitly explains
He isn't sentient according to you so why does anything he says matter?
He would have the kids to worry about
With Lune right? right??
It doesn't matter if he is or not, for reasons in the post you just responded to.
Do they have a consious experience? Are they capable of thought and experiencing feelings, as a human does? If so, your point is completely irrelevant. You're literally a subhuman psychopath if you don't understand this btw
Painted people are sentient. Sims are not.
Elaborate on that, or get lost
He did notthing right. /ourheroes/ will need to come in the third route to undo his mess
he was a brave soul protecting his family no matter the cost.
nta but pVerso's actions look selfish when you hear his last words before being sent to the piano mines
they were not about Alicia, the rest of the family, painted or real, or even about the real Verso
they were about himself: "I don't want this life"
You're asking the wrong question. Why didn't Verso adopt her when she was a kid and influence her so she could use her painter powers in the future to do his will?
you are subhuman if you think these things are subhuman
You're literally a subhuman psychopath... because you said my Sims simulacra aren't real ok???
You must be an adult to post in this board
Sims have needs, feelings and dreams. How are they different from the people in the Canvas?
Wants the happily ever after ending
Go play your japanese bullshit for that
play Final Fantasy Tactics Advance and you'll get a similar story.
muh misery porn
Grow up.
genociding an entire civilization is justified if it alleviates the depression of like three people
The painted people are more human than you are
His last words included this.
genociding an entire civilization
And how this "civilization" contributed to the actual balance of the existing universe?
Should have just given her the damn letter
If they had gone into the Monolith knowing the context, there's a chance they could have figured out a compromise.
but it also increases the chance of the original plan from failing. Probably weighed the odds and chose the more likely approach. Although from the Act 2 cutscene it looked like he didn't even read the letter until then, which seems pretty shitty either way.
What the fuck are you even trying to say? It's ok to murder people if they don't "contribute to the balance of the universe"???? You people are absolute MORONS
You're allowed to say retard, faggot.
I've called people in this thread retards, imbeciles and morons, you fucking mongoloid
The are not PEOPLE, they don't EXIST, they live in a BIDIMENSIONAL canvas, they were PAINTED. ART is the EXPRESSION of the MIND, it REPLICATES reality with ILLUSION
Verso is the biggest faggot there is.
let’s family uber mansion get caught on fire
decides to cuck out and save his autistic whore sister, sacrificing himself.
decides to let Chad Gustave die because he worries about what his sister might or might not do
talks to gestrals all day like a faggot.
Say it again.
he is just asking Alicia to unplug the simulation
I've called people in this thread retards, imbeciles and morons, you fucking mongoloid
Her real father let her play with the simulation some more, so simulated Verso should just play the piano and shut up, right?
It's not a fucking painting. It's an entire world that contains people who are magically animated. They have souls. Theh are capable of thought and feeling emotions. They are human by any relevant metric.
Sure, none of it fucking matters if they're unthinking, unfeeling automatons. That's OBVIOUSLY not how the game presents them, though
I hate being alive
all of existence should end
because I'll be happy
but many being happy
at my expense
isn't what I want
so it is bad
Im sorry but exactly what is mister verso accomplishing? Sounds like a self absorbed teenager justifying his tantrum with some sanctimonious delusions.
Chad Gustave
You mean the pansy that tried to summon his persona right at the start of the game? lmao
Underaged retards and worthless Asians won't understand Verso's character.
complains that a french game is french
So if a teenage goddess showed up claiming we were all NPCs and that you were her beloved big brother, you'd happily annihilate me and everyone on Anon Babble?
The world does revolve around him though, every single conflict and damage done to tge world was caused due to fighting over and related to him and his image. Every single god in his world all acknowledge him and use him to further their own goals. Ceasing his existence puts an end to or begins tor resolve those conflicts.
To all the pansies who want a peaches and marmalade ending with rainbows and unicorns, explain why is it necessary and how it would fit the game overall mood
I'll wait
no, ideally real Renoir should have been firmer with her, people call him controlling when his biggest fault was his soft spot for Alicia
pVerso's feelings don't matter at all, and yes he deserves the piano, his past actions show he doesn't care about other painted lives outside of a few select
if the NPCs have their own autonomy (which is proven by act 1), then what fucking use is the real world? it's not like the NPCs are AI responding to queues so the "IT'S NOT REAL" excuses make no sense.
Is this true?
Yes
staying in the painting for too long kills you
you prevent verso's soul vestige from moving on
Sounds like a brat that isn't getting his way so he'll take away the ball everyone is enjoying and leave.
would you want to live in a world entirely defined and controlled by a grieving mother and sister who are literally destroying themselves by their failure to cope?
what's Karl Knausgard doing on Anon Babble. go back to Anon Babble
before she's forced off the Canvas
I would like to believe this but devs decided to not show anything beyond her losing herself to the canvas. So for now it's purely headcanon.
What I would like to see, my dream for the sequel is these two endings combined (something like in deus ex mankind divided)- so Renoir lets her stay, Aline, after what she's done, is bedridden or something for long time therefore Alicia can live inside until her real self is not in life danger. Then Renoir/Clea gets her back and after some time they go to Verso's grave like in the second ending. rom this point, the sequel's storyline would begin. Ahh, dreams, too good to be true
It is a fucking painting
You're missing the point entirely. It's not that Verso wants to cease to exist, it's that he has feelings about the real family that isn't his and wants what's best for them. Think of him as a Sim that became self aware and has the personality and memories of a real person, who sees that that person's family is suffering and wants to help them, even if it costs him everything.
Ok but what if that teenager's bitchy older sister showed up 67 years earlier, killed and mind raped my friends and family then told me all the world's problems by extent originate from me as the root cause.
Why did they give Sciel that ASS?
So...is he completely fucked? Is there no way for him to escape
He made his bed. His fate is completely and entirely his fault.
Lune has saved the team so many times as the LAST STAND OF EXPEDITION 33 but I will never put her in the main squad.
can you make a 1-3-1 party comp with 2 solo fighters?
If you choose the Maelle ending, it'll end when either Alicia dies from staying too long in the painting, or when IRL Renoir yanks her ass out of there and destroys the canvas and calls her a fucking retard like his wife
MARCHE WAS RIGHT FAGGOTS
What the fuck is Serpenphare fuck this thing
How would Renoir manage to yank Maelle out of there? Would he have to enter the canvas again?
Now I understand how normalfags feel when somebody tells them that Hitler did nothing wrogn.
He's just an NPC if you go by your bible (pic related).
Maelle doesn't just break a pinky swear. I think the writers added that shit, because they thought that otherwise the Maelle ending would be too obviously superior, underestimating how real world NPCs would think the canvas people are just NPCs.
You are retarded.
I wonder, if he just walked up and destroyed the canvas, would it hurt the people who were currently in there?
It's a tiny part of Paris, not only that but most of them already got killed by Nevrons and the gommage.
It would probably take the entire family to get her out of there
Verso is literally Jesus.
it probably kills their consciences and they become vegetables
don't think so, it'll always send in the full reserve team.
Verso has one way out, but it's a longshot
Whenever he's around Maelle he must think of Sciel's ass
Thinking of Sciel's ass will give him a massive pant-raising erection
The massive pants-raising erection will ruin make Maelle very uncomfortable and ruin her immersion
Maelle leaves the painting in disgust because her fantasy is turning into a seedy incest fanfic
Have you ever heard of suspension of disbelief. I think the game gives enough evidence of fantasy magic by the first 5 minutes or so that applying real life logic to the game's setting is not needed.
Pretending the beings in the canvas don't have real thoughts, emotions, dreams etc. is just cope from Verso pickers to make the decision easier on themselves. Removing all nuance and depth from his ending just so they don't have to weigh the costs. And Maelle is supposed to be the one burying her head in the sand.
Maelle is a lesbian, so she hides in the canvas.
You think Alicia killed PAlicia without letting Verso say anything to get back at him because of Gustave?
Maelle didn't know Verso let Gustave die at that point of time. She killed her because 1. pAlicia asked for it and 2. Theres no need for pAlicia now that the real Alicia is here, just her and Verso are enough.
Simply being alive is not a torment. Verso is little bitch.
The fact that she asked him that question makes her suspect he did that. Also yes she killed her because she asked her for it, but Verso was clearly there begging her not to, at least yet.
She seemed to have purposely not allowed him to say goodbye, he was only a few feet away begging her. She clearly ignored him on purpose.
It would've been absolutely hilarious if the devs would actually include that in the ending.
The fact that she asked him that question makes her suspect he did that.
She didn't know Verso was following her until he told her himself.
She didn't have to know that though, he was already there, she knows he was in the vicinity. She suspected that he delayed to act on purpose so Gustave would die.
Feels weird calling her Maelle once you learn that's basically just her gamertag.
Possibly.
She suspected at least.
I'm still angry at this shit. Are japs simply incapable of giving a good ending to a story? What is it? Cowardice? The natalism vs anti-natalism themes were so clearly presented but then this guy turned the story into "huh I did it because I saw myself in the future doing it, I didn't have a choice!" Which is insanely stupid and cowardly.
how much do you weigh
this nigga is fine. he is the memory of a god incarnated. he has certain duties and positions in the chain of existence that befit him. he can cope for a bit.
Even if she suspected it she wouldn't do it to spite Verso. At this point Verso is by far more important to her than Gustave.
Look at how she handwaved Verso's faults after he told her the truth.
A3 is the tipping point for Verso. he sees the canvas is causing so much division in the celestial Dessendre family but he doesnt want to admit to himself that he wants to end everyone's existence. he hopes Maelle will keep the canvas alive, eject Aline, and possibly put himself to rest, but then he discovers that Maelle doesnt have what it takes when he sees her straight up lie to her father. he realizes no one but him is capable of doing what needs to be done and so he endeavors to break the cycle and kill Verso-Soul himself
Maybe. It was probably more like she wanted him for herself and this was a nice convenience for her, seeing as how selfish she is.
It really bothers me how dismissive people are of the life burnt Alicia will live. Cripples live successful and fulfilling lives all the time. I'm one of them.
It was deemed unnecessary for me to verify this post.
He isn't real so his suffering isn't real either :)
Look at how she handwaved Verso's faults
Easy, since he has none, aside from being unable to end this nightmare by himself.
Yeah, you're probably right. The game tried to keep a lot of the MCs flaws hidden in Act 3 though.
Won't Maelle eventually get bored? I mean, how many different ways can you play with your big bro? She can't exactly add mods.
it is not a bad end. 1--the game writers unfortunately make it appear like a bad ending which forcefully colors players' perception. 2--conceptually, Maelles ending is fine. she is an incarnated god who has experienced much suffering and finds apotheosis in living with, and caring for, created creatures. this kills her godly form ultimately. PaintedVerso, who is a memory of a god incarnated, is witness to Maelles self-destruction, but doesnt necessarily have any authority to dictate Maelles choice. PaintedVerso has a unique position in the Cosmic Chain to be an eternal witness in the created world as long as it exists
Verso's ghost, the young boy, agrees with what Renoir is doing. He thinks it is unpleasant, but necessary.
But are you a cripple living in Paris under attack by the Nazis who can write stories into existence?
How bad are your burns compared to hers? Don't forget the game is set in the early 20th century. We know it hurts for her to breathe, she is half blind and her face is mangled. She won't find many suitors, she carries a lot of mental scarring too. The Verso ending shows it as a happy one where she is healing from her anguish and grief but such pain cannot go away so easily. Lastly there is another faction at war with them and they already claimed one of the family, perhaps more suffering and loss await Alicia.
Because it's a bunch of mentally ill NEET fucks projecting what they would be like if they were Alicia. That's the basis of every single Maellefag.
she is a younger god and likewise finds more value in the sensation of life and caring for created creatures. theres no saying whether or not her choice to self-destruct is correct or not.
btw, are you a cute cripple? if you look like Burned Alicia ill take care of you uwu

Grief hits people hard sometimes.
I swear people claiming that the Lumierians are NPCs or mindless automatons are incapable or answering the breakfast question
Absolutely retarded mongoloids.
assuming Lumerians are NPCs is the top of the iceberg to achieving gnosis. they forget that if Lumerians are NPCs, then its quite possible that they themselves are NPCs worthy of being deleted
It's not a bad end
the devs just designed it to be the bad end
which makes the player think it's the bad end, but really it's not
what level of absolute coping retardation is this
They're no different then making a game and putting people in there with some form of AI.
They aren't real, they aren't people from outside the canvas 'plugging in' to anything. They're merely creations and turn into retarded flower petals when they die.
Couldn't possibly agree more
gets forced to watch the girl he fucks get back with her husband and not allowed to end things.
Who knew the west will one up japan in NTR games.
People die when they are killed.
t. DEEN Shiro
Lumierans aren't people
Lumierians are shown to have both soul and spirit
Choosing Verso's ending robs these people from achieving true gnosis.
They're no different then making a game and putting people in there with some form of AI
Retarded argument, they have their own set of values and actively act against their own creator, they have free will as far as they are concerned.
Retard applying his own headcanon of themes that have nothing to do with the game's story.

Not getting a (you), obvious bait
the devs have said a bunch of contradictory shit about the story like how it's not actually about grief (it is, objectively)
the information we are given is that maelle will die if she is in the canvas for too long, that she's not a skilled paintress, and verso ages about 20 years and it's strongly, strongly implied that maelle is manipulating him to be her doll. It is not a 'good' ending by any means
Seeing E33 fans sad fills me with warmth
Why are you guys OK with killing gods in every other game, but suddenly want to SAVE them in E33???
they've all been frommaged by that point anyway, the only 'real' painted people at that stage are arguably sciel, lune and verso. there's no evidence that maelle has the ability to properly restore the inhabitants of lumiere
we get it you’re a bitter virgin with rage, didn’t need a blogpost bro
bro
go back
This game has three layers.
First layer is the "physical" layer: that is what happens in the game exactly as it is presented. Meaning the people of the canvas are as real as people outside and the painters can be considered gods playing with their lives. Most Maellefags reside here.
Second layer is that of the analogy: here the story states that the canvas is to Aline and Maelle what drugs are to addicts and they're using the canvas to escape from their real problems. This is referenced multiple times in the first layer, and once even directly.
Third layer is the metaphor: the canvas is a metaphorical representation of Aline and Alicia's state of mind, a state they adopted to cope with the fire accident and Verso's death. This is mostly evidenced in the first layer by the game when they confess their inability to "hide the canvas, as Aline would just find it again," hinting at you that the canvas is something inherent to Aline, a state of mind in my opinion. As it often helps in real life, Aline and Alicia need help to leave it and must be forced out. Most Versofags had understood the second and third layer.
There's evidence that, at least, every time she revives them, they lose a part of themselves.
Lumerians are to Maelle what Sakapatates are to Kid Verso.
In case of AoT I suspect Isayama was getting jaded and starting to hate his own work. So by the time he reached the ending he probably just wanted to see the world burn.
there is no proof Maelle is controllnig him. souerce?
it is weird that lune and sciel aren't more furious with verso after the end of act 2 when they realise that maelle doesn't have the capability to actually restore the lumerians
come to mention it, what was the motivation for continuing at that point? did they think they just needed a store of chroma?
UM, CAN I HAVE A HECKIN SOURCERINO? NO, I CAN'T INFER BASED ON INFORMATION, I NEED IT LITERALLY TOLD TO ME IN PLAIN ENGLISH
how about verso looks extremely uncomfortable before playing and then you hear a pin drop and it cuts to maelle in her paintress mode like you see clea, renoir and aline in during the manor sequence, and only then does he relent and play?
Fourth layer: the Dessendres are a trash family and deserve Maelle's ending
the only reasonable opinion, they are all too schizo to deserve to live and none of them had any issue with creating and destroying psuedo-life just to play out their family psychodrama, the Writers were right
In the first layer, choosing Maelle's ending is akin to saving Lumiere at the expense of Alicia's life and respecting her choice. Verso's ending is granting his wish to die at the expense of everybody else. It makes little sense to choose Verso here.
In the second layer, you either allow Maelle to continue her abuse of the canvas as a means of escapism with the argument that she won't much of a life outside of the canvas anyway, or allow Verso to save his sister. Verso's ending is already preferable here.
In the third layer, the game asks you if you understand the weight of the tragedy that happened to that family and if you are willing to let Verso finally rest and move forward no matter how much it hurts to do so. If you choose Maelle you are not, you failed to do what the game asked of you, if you choose Verso, his memory is finally put to rest, and the canvas (depression) is gone, and they can move on with their lives.
hes uncomfortable because (1) he said himself ingame that he has performance anxiety on stage and (2) he sees that Maelle is basically fully immersed in the canvas and will never leave and that saddens him. this theory about MUH MUH CHROMA FLICKERING is like saying the bigfoot video is real
here you go
he thinks what the video game is trying to tell you in the ending is that verso has performance anxiety
you are legitimately braindead
Fuck, so E33 is a Christian story?
Most stories europeans do are christian whether intentionally or not.
No, it just illustrates that a lot of people are only capable of interpreting stories within the framework that was instilled in them growing up
I feel like the whole theme gets muddied by muh sentient painting people, now it's just people that wanna fuck Maelle fighting for the rights of fictional people which is not at all thought provoking and boils down to "me want harry potter heroin machine gimme gimme"
Yeah Maelle's ending has to be the darker of the two because if it weren't and were just happy then it would objectively be the happier of the two. It's the decision that isn't final, technically there's always a chance Alicia can leave and the Canvas can continue to exist, whereas Verso's ending is final. They cannot go back after it's been destroyed. So there needs to be weigh added to Maelle's ending to make the decision more difficult.
I like how you conveniently left out right afterwards where he says he's not actually sure if that the case but he wants to think so.
Well, the thing is whether the painted people are real or not is completely beside the point
Both sides of the argument have their reasons, neither can really be said to be totally wrong, and so the situation should be judged by the outcome of their decisions
maelle was right
Maelle fuck you for not letting me say goodbye to pAlicia
btw fuck you i let Gustave die LMAOO
also i will reject my painted sister's wishes, throw away the letter and won't even try to find a compromise so that both families can thrive
Verso is a piece of shit, end of story
"If you could grow old, could you find a reason to smile again?"
Maelle literally took away his immortality.
He is a war criminal.
I'll rehabilitate her speech with extra gawk.
He might have doubts. No one doubts that you are a hylic.
A Life to Game!
implying there wouldn't be some rich ugly bastard who would plap the shit out of her
No, she just let him age.
I KNEEL
I SQUEAL
MY CANVAS FAMILY ISN'T REAL
Good thing Maelle's family is filthy rich, money can't completely heal her but it can do a lot of things. Otherwise there is no reason for her to go back to the real world.
If you were in her shoes, would you rather live in an imaginary heaven, or a real hell? Sometimes real != good
if the family wasn't rich, her real body would be up for prostitution
I want to cum in her eye hole
I've seen that Serbian movie...
Except that he is in a purgatory, not allowed to die nor to live
Words words words
Maellefags doing mental gymnastics again
By his own actions and words. Generations of murders, betrayals, scheming, lies and manipulations.
I'd choose scarred Alicia over Maelle.
Anyone else?
The dimwits (which maellefags are) constantly brag about muh genocide, but there are actual people (yes, the nevrons are people, just like Lumière citizens and Gestrals) inside the canvas that just wanted to die, because they found their existence empty and without purposes
She cute though, i would take care of her
