Bought the game the last week, now I'm level 72 as a Warrior trying to go through BBI.
I have dragonforged gear and I do no damage at all to anything, how is this a thing?

As a rule of thumb, the bare minimum for (normalfag) bitterblack isle is dragonforged GRIGORI weapons.
1337 gamers can do everything level 1. No, I won't explain how.
Wolves hunt in packs.
Wow that's dogshit
You have less damage than they have armor, aka your weapon is shit
It's somewhat normal.
The weapons you get from Grigori should allow you to punch through the earlier layers, but BBI is grindy. You will need those BBI weapons to comfortably kill enemies.
It's hilarious how hard this franchise flopped purely because Itsuno doesn't understand RPGs
Dragon's Dogma 1 AND 2 have the same armor damage formula as fucking Demon's Souls, completely unchanged in 12 years LMAO
Well I guess I'm dropping the game
I'm certainly not grinding more. I quit Nioh DLC for the same reason, and Nioh is certainly the better game of the two
Did you enjoy the lore? What caught your eye?
Do all the sidequests first, I believe I was lv100 when I got to bbi. And there's a reason why it's hard to get through bbi.
BBI is hardmode. Even lv100+ characters with good gear struggle on the lower levels. Especially warriors.
Keep killing stuff dude, once you can kill the dragon in the forest start the dlc quest and keep grinding in the isle.
You can just run through dodging stuff and trying to get loot.
Do all the sidequests first,
I did everything in the base game
BBI is amazing and you just need to do two rounds of it to get the story and see most enemies.
You can pretty much beat it with a level 1 weapon if you know what you are doing.
There's literally zero grind in dragon's dogma, I can't tell if you're false-flagging or unaware.
You should be level 100 and up for BBI go back and try to finish up all the stuff you didn't do in the base game like the Everfall.
Nah I'm too bored at this point. Unless I get a powerful weapon now I'll uninstall. I can't play through it again. The notion of chasing NPCs and running around the map and completing the shit quests and managing more item bloat is already killing me inside.
What a shit game honestly
to make this anon seethe you do bbi lv1 by spamming grenades
you didn't beat it, sorry
You have to get stronger weapons in BBI, and then dragon forge them, and get them to gold dragonforge level. BBI goes up to level 200, so yeah it's rough at first.
Call it what you want, but the entire endgame loop pre-DLC is just grinding the everfall, and with DLC it's grinding BBI.
Did you play the game for many levels as a Mage and then swapped to Warrior?
Congrats, you're fucked now. You will never do proper melee damage now unless you save edit.
Basically the stat upgrades you get on level up depend entirely on the class you currently have. If you swap the class you will keep your stats (only DD2 scales some of your stats to the class you currently have rather than level ups)
This is why ideally you play the game until like level 100 as any yellow class as they have a fairly even stat spread on levelup. Unless you wanna play ONLY a warrior or ONLY a mage.
warrior is prretty much hard mode for BBI
damage is lacking and its main selling point, knockdown power is neutered because everything has ridiculous knockdown resistance
Unless you wanna play ONLY a warrior or ONLY a mage.
You are supposed to choose. You have pawns for either magic or tanking.
You are like a fucking BABY.
I got DD last month and accidentally went to BBI as soon as the dock was active with a rusted fucking sword and rags. I got steamrolled in a single attack. It's basically Dark Souls gone nuts. Run and grab what you can, fight shit like the spiders first, grab stuff from chests to get purified and before you know it, you'll be able to hold your own. I'm level 40 and haven't left yet and I'm going toe to toe with plenty and dropping them. Hardest so far has been the necromancer and the zombie dragon and that fucker went down after 3 tries. Warrior best profession.
Man up.
I just got weapons from chests and something from the fancy man with the great moustache. I'm now rocking 2 bits of armour that do HP regen. Running to the treasure chest pile where the chained cyclopes was secured decent kit.
I like getting fucked in the ass by hitsponges
Ok dude
It's nothing like Dark Souls. Gear in Dark Souls has horizontal progression, no mmo grind
Dark Souls works literally the same. You have to farm mats in the game to upgrade weapons.
Doing BBI level 40
Just so you are aware, you are ruining the game. But if you're having fun that's all that matters.
warrior
meme class for irl manlets
It's actually insanely strong. Just jump attack the monster's head until it falls down, then fucking execute the thing. So satisfying.
I have a dragonforged spork, why aren't I doing damage?
NTA, but in Dragon's Dogma enemy def - your attack = damage you deal. If the enemy is too tanky, you deal no damage at all. Dark Souls never does this, you can beat the whole game with a low level weapon just fine, won't even take that much longer.
Yes, I'm aware. I've played Dragon's Dogma all the way through multiple times a year since it first came out, and I always max out every vocation.
It's just a boring shitter class and everyone who loves it sounds like a short person.
Why if we made a worse DD1, but with raytracing?
Dragon's Dogma 1 AND 2 have the same armor damage formula as fucking Demon's Souls
Huh? Wasn't DeS just standard absorption stuff like DS/ER?
The only other games that have the same armor system as DD that I can think of are BOTW/TOTK and it leads to the same issue of everything one shotting you early game and you taking 1hp of damage late game.
solo shieldless fighter in DD2 is the best experience I've ever had with an ARPG
Play an actually good ARPG like Nioh 2 lmao, DD has awful balancing and 0 challenge outside of the first few hours
you need to get BBI weaposn asap, base game gear is useless.
Rejecting soulless mainstream RPG tropes Itsuno-sama, I kneel
No, it has the same flat subtraction system
I think Dark Souls 2 has that too
Dark Souls had a weird formula with multipliers added to modify and improve it
Dark Souls 3 made it percentage based
he bought slop
deserved, faggot.
As I was playing through BBI I changed to a purified Level 2 magic staff and I still do fuckall damage because of level gating bullshit and preset stats
Game is dogshit
