The problem with the Legion is that their mode of conquest fails the moment they run out of numbers, which is apparently immediately considering they stop making any ground and have to rely on recruiting Fiends and Khans and other degenerates to do anything. Legion also feels like it has an unreasonable amount of plot armor, why the fuck would degenerates side with the faction that openly and eagerly plans on slaughtering them? It's just retarded, the Legion is a meme faction and in-game has less reach than the Fiends.

I think it just depends on what type of story you want to tell, if you just want a black and white story where the bad guy is bad then that's fine, there's nothing wrong with that, if you want a nuanced story with a nuanced villain then that is fine too, I think problems rise when you mix the two, which is what many redditranny storywriters do, they want to do a nuanced ambiguous story because black and white storytelling is like le heckin toxic masculinity and shit, but then their villains are just black and white bad guys, which is causing a dissonance for anyone reading a story, it's like they want to sniff their own farts about how the world is complicated but then are too pussies to say that their enemies can also be complicated and nuanced with their set of motivations, like if your villain is a simple bad guy then your hero has to also be a simple good guy, if your protagonist is complicated and nuanced then the villain also has to be complicated and nuanced

There is a loophole in that logic though.
It presumes that the writer of the satire has a 100% plausible common sense mindset and that anything the writer of the satire writes is actually universally accepted as being "intentional unreasonable exaggeration".
Unfortunately, in the current landscape there are plenty of writers who have been exposed to a DEI echochamber so much that something that according to the usual common sense would be quite normal is instead presented like it's exaggerated satire. nah I think that's fine, that's what sauron was in the lotr trilogy, did giving him some past in the netflix show make him better? it was just cringe and lame, sauron is cool as sauron, but also i think you can get around this somewhat if you just have multiple protagonists and multiple villains with some of them black and white and some of them nuanced, like how watership down did it, hazel and the general were black and white good guy bad guy characters, they were both in charge of their own destiny and leaders, but hazel represented the good leader, kindness, freedom while the general represented the bad leader, cruelty, oppression, and the other pair in the story was fiver and cowslip, as the nuanced hero and villain, they were not in charge of their destiny, fiver is granted prophetic visions by frith and he doesn't have much of a choice other than following those visions, which is all he does, if he didn't follow the visions he'd be dead within the first 5 minutes of the story, he's doing good things but not due to any volition of his own, he's just a product of his circumstances, and cowslip is also just a product of his circumstances, he's living in a velvet cage and is just act accordingly, what else is he gonna do? kill the farmer? he's a rabbit, how is he gonna defy a human with a gun, fiver and cowslip are both just beholden to godlike entities and act according to their situation, for fiver it's frith for cowslip it's the farmer, granted the story spends most of it's time with the conflict between hazel and the general while fiver and cowslip have like 5 minutes of screentime, but still you can have a story that includes both black and white and nuanced heroes and villains if you pair the nuanced heroes with the nuanced villains and simple hero with the simple villain
